If it could happen to us, it could happen to you. Be very wary of this self-serving 'professional' agent who appear to have a 'let's see what we can get away with' approach. Do not be influenced by all the elevated titles they give themselves such as 'senior negotiator', 'director' and 'consultant'. Do not be swayed by any 5 star reviews this agent appears to be trying to stockpile. Such 5 star canvassing is a well known strategy by struggling businesses to swamp out critical reviews that call out wrongdoing and poor service. If you are a seller where values of honesty, fairness, and decency towards buyers are important to you then avoid this down at heel agent. Do similar if you are purchasers that do not wish to risk the wool being pulled over your eyes and taken to the cleaners. Here is how the sly and greedy DNG Fairview tried to pull a fast one on us. To bring the bidding to a boil they told us final bids had to be made by noon on a certain day. When we ascertained what the highest offer was before mid-day and increased our offer to make ourselves the highest bidder at noon, we relaxed thinking at noon that we would be deemed to be the agreed purchaser. However this ‘deadline’ procedure seems to be just a sneaky ploy. When we were on the phone to DNG next day, and on having to remind them of the ‘deadline’, the attitude was ‘Oh, yeah that, the noon cut-off, oh that, that was just to give us an indication of who was interested’, and they continued trying to reel in somebody for more than the already ‘high noon’ ‘final bid’ which craftily became the new base. We continue to feel terribly betrayed by this cynical behaviour. We were later informed by the sellers that they were not aware of the treatment we experienced from DNG Fairview.

We spent about 3x months looking at properties to buy in East Wall & just recently finally closed on one. Unfortunately this DNG agency seems to has the monopoly on the houses in that area and made the whole process horrendous. The first house which we successfully were the highest bidders on & were very excited about the DNG agent told me over the phone how "she advised the seller to go with the lower bidder" because she felt "the lower bidder loved the house more then we did"!!! So we lost that house because of the DNG agents opinion even though we were highest bidders, full mortgage approval, no chain. In the same conversation she informed me that she had a more suitable house around the corner that would suit us better!!! Of course that house just happened to be 20grand more expensive which she knew we had the approval for... Unscrupulous!!! Then when we finally went sale agreed on a house which of course she was agent for too she continuously contacted us both harassing us about the status of closing & saying the vendors were threatening to pull out (after just over a month since sale agreed which is no time in a closing process). It was so bad she was requested not to contact me as I am heavily pregnant & the stress of it all was getting to me but after a while she ignored this request & called anyway & texted & even rang our solicitor to get them to contact me!!! There was no real delays our end so this was totally uncalled for. I will not name names of the actual agent but I strongly advise buyer & seller beware with these agents. I previously sold a home about three years ago & unfortunately I went with DNG in Naas & they were as bad even though I was on the other end that time.

Giving 2* only because Ray Cooke effectively proves that the service can be worse. All the people I worked with, are nice and friendly, but this is about professionalism. For eur 4000+ as a seller, I got 2 viewers and only 1 offer, which was almost 10% lower than the estimated value of the property. You could expect that estate agent would at least handle some communication part to speed up the things in return? Well that was my understanding as well, but DNG would keep calling me during my working hours, requesting me to call my solicitor to get an update (while DNG has all the solicitors contacts and could as well call them directly, not to mention that I was explaining many times that my work is being on call for support 5 days a week 9 to 5 and it's hard for me to constantly excuse myself from work). That was going on for months, sometimes on a daily basis, causing issues at my work for me. And if you don't pick up the phone and call them back, the person is usually out of office or busy with more important customers/tasks, so you better stop doing your work and pick up the phone when they call. At the moment I'm still waiting for DNG to transfer me the deposit for the sale which is completed. I really hope this review will not cause issues paying it out to me, but overall I can see that with DNG, it is seller who pays for the service, but the service is provided for buyer and not for seller.

We sold our property in Clontarf last month. Melanie Brady was our real estate agent. We interviewed about 10 real estate agents, some big names and some small. Melanie was the only agent who accurately valued our property based off of what it went for in the end. Her valuation was higher than than the valuations given by all of the other agents we interviewed at the time, so we were concerned at first. However her valuation turned out to be spot on. Melanie also had some unique ideas on how to market our property, which made us feel like it was a very bespoke service, tailored to our property specifically, and its unique attributes. The house went for what she predicted, which really made us feel she knew the area and the property values there very well. Melanie conducted multiple open viewings and appointment based viewings for us. We wanted to get an idea of the interest in our property, so we observed some of the open viewings at a distance. Melanie was always punctual and very generous with her time, which we very much appreciated.
