"Accidentally came across this place"
We came here as it was highly recommended and got amazing reviews. Unfortunately we got too late for their famed bacon and breakfast menu (kitchen closes at strictly 11am) so we settled for a Croque Monsieur. The waiter recommended it was it was full of Prosciutto which would hopefully satisfy our hankering for bacon. As recommended, we shared one as it was very rich and filling. The bread was fresh and crisp from being fried Ina sandwich press and there was a mountain of cheese inside as well as a generous serve if the ham. Although it overwhelmed our palette with how heavy it was, it was very moorish and quite satisfying. However, when we ordered something sweet this place became unstuck. We ordered a sweet seasonal Danish to start. It looked so appetising sitting in its glass case with its high puff pastry and glossy rhubarb filling. We figured that since this is a famed bakery, their basics would be out of this world. How wrong we were. The pastry was stale and it lacked any crispness at all. Quite soggy and the rhubarb filling lacked flavour. We were so disappointed in what we feel should have been a very strong dish that we chose to forgo the cakes we planned to order. Lastly, maybe it's us being spoilt in Sydney, but their coffee isn't as strong as we prefer (but this was true for all the coffee we had in Tasmania so maybe it might be a regional preference) Overall we were disappointed in this place but we may give it another chance to sample their breakfast menu.
I visited 2 years ago and this place was amazing. Now i would not recommend anyone to visit. Purchased a number of items (2 trays) including ham cheese croissant toasted. The initial staff who servied was very welcoming and helpful but the other staff memeber who brough out the take away was not. The shop was not busy. It took about 10min for them to give us out ham and cheese. The cheese was only melted on the surface. The inside was cold. When we actually recieved or order she could see i eas havjng difficulty holdjng everything as j s ok purchased a coffee. I asked for a bag and she reply your friend could help you. When i asked again she said ita 50c do you really want. Almond croissant was ok but a little burnt. The custard tart was grainy and tasted of powded milk. Cherry scroll had very little filling and had a funny taste not of cherry but the filo pastry was ok. Both service and food leaving a bad taste. Sorry will not be returning
Daci looks like a tourist trap with its fancy cakes on display in the window of a historic building, but oh, those cakes and meringues are just sensational. And the coffee is really good, and, astonishingly, it serves the best tea in Hobart. They’ve really nailed everything here. And to top it off, they have an amazing selection of gluten-free treats – in a bakery cafe! Daci is in a superb spot, just across the road from the parliament, and minutes away from the waterfront and Salamanca. The street outside is busy but there’s plenty of paid parking in the streets nearby and down at the waterfront. Staff were lovely, fast, friendly. We can’t recommend this enough.
Such a charming place to eat brunch! We were attracted by their European interior and their cakes so we decided to eat in, and it did not disappoint. Their pastries (chicken pot pie, plain croissant w/ raspberry jam, apple strudel w/ whipped cream) were terrific! So flakey and light. The jams and whipped cream paired so well with the sweet pastries, and the pot pie was flavourful. If there's anything to add I would say the filling of the apple strudel was on the lesser side, so more of that please :) service was amazing and attentive; they were extremely thoughtful and great to talk to. we've bought some cakes back home to try and can't wait to dig in
Accidentally came across this place. The cakes themselves looked amazing. My partner ordered the roasted vegetable and hummus focaccia. I ordered the Mediterranean pasta salad mixed with the roasted pumpkin, red onion, green beans, red rice, almond and feta salad. We both ordered the Belgian chocolate milkshakes, as we both love a great shake. We both shared the Cremé Bruleé. Wow what can we say, everything was delicious and amazing in taste. It was definitely outside the box for us, especially as we are both big meat eaters. We would definitely recommend this place and we will both definitely be back.
This beloved local joint is a cafe and bakery serving French and Italian style pastries and cakes in a classic bistro setting. Great central location near the harbour, very nice patisserie (though you have to be a fan of the breadier side of croissant-dom), efficient service.

Not often do we go to the same place twice when we are away on holidays but let me tell you. Three dine in breakfasts and one take away breakfast and I'd go back tomorrow. This is am awesome amazing cafe that reminded me of a cafe I went to in St Michel in Paris, France. Top quality food, amazing service, well priced, Gr8 range, clean, attentive staff, perfect beverages. Sooooo goooooood. Take me back already. The pictures write this review themselves
This place is superb! Got a good view when dining outdoors, their food is great! Their service is even greater ❤️ you can park along the road but be mindful of the locations since other streets only offer 30mins parking max. We were able to park near the café for a max of 1 hr which is a perfect time to finish our breakfast. Lots of food offerings by the way! Definitely coming back here when we visit the beautiful Tasmania again.
We can't get enough of Daci & Daci. We come here every time we are in Hobart, and when we brought a big group of friends they also loved it. My favourite dish is the chicken pie, just perfection. Even the pastry is delicious! For desserts and pastries we love the danishes and the array of desserts. Can recommend the raspberry caramel crunch too. It can get quite busy, but you can book a table in advance of you wish.
Bakery with plenty of options, of which a few are vegan! I tried the vegan custard pastry and it was delicious!! Not too sweet, warm, flaky. The vegan raspberry-chocolate bomb was ok. Service was good, quick and the lady at the checkout was helpful with pointing out the vegan options and finding out the Info I asked her for. Iced coffee and hot coffee were good too. Seating area inside and outside. 100% recommend
The pastries in Daci & Daci bakers are pretty decent. Personally, I like their "Apple strudel", and their cakes are delicious as well! The location is great in the CBD, however I'd prefer if they had warmer lighting inside, to create a more relaxing ambience... There are better options in Hobart for coffee and pastries for the same price point. Average cost P.P. - $20-40AUD
Do yourself a favour when you’re next in Hobart and treat yourself to some of Daci and Daci’s amazing baked goods. This is my last TAS work trip and I could not leave without stopping in for one last time (although seriously I hope it isn’t my last time here). I ended up with the prawn, fennel and smoked salmon tart and also the Portuguese tart. Both amazing !
Start your day here! Warm, laid back atmosphere can just about convince you that you're at a Cafe in Paris. The extensive selection on pastries far outweighs my ability to eat. We took on the advise of our waitress and went with the popular favourites. Mouth watering savoury and sweets! Wash it down with delicious coffee and off to another day of adventures!
Variety cakes and and yes Hobart has a high taste of high tea, pastries are high standard. I am from Sweden, we have " Princess cakes " there and hoping to haved one in australia. :)

What a delight! From the smell of hot bread to the distinguished decor, this place is inviting and appealing. I had the Continental Breakfast and added some bacon and it was all delicious, very filling, and better value than my hotel. I thin chose some things from the counter to take away and enjoy later. Definitely a place you must try when in Hobart.
We popped in for a coffee and a snack. The coffee was good. We also had a chocolate brownie, and a chocolate hazelnut cookie. The brownie was incredible, so flavourful and the perfect texture. The cookie was also delicious although a little thin.

There are a lot of different cakes, sandwiches and pastries , but the Portuguese tart is probably the worst I ever had in my life, it tasted like it has been sit in the selves for days. We also didn’t enjoy the orange cake. They provided great service though, and the coffee was good. Definitely won’t be back for the cakes and pastries.
Was recommended this place by my aunt and the food was delish. We ordered the chicken & creamed leek pie, coddled eggs, smoked ham & cheese croissant and a beef & onion burek. The service was superb and I would have loved to order their pastries if I wasn’t so stuffed after our meal. The location is conveniently near Salamanca Place.
Must try. Can be busy. Good coffee. Good Pastry and dessert selection! Attentive staff. Best is they open early and near the wharf. So we had brekky here before our Mona trip and the Wellington bus tour. Prices are surprising cheap if you will compare it to typical hipster cafes around. Serving js not big but food quality is great.
The cakes here look fantastic. Being on the apple isle I thought I'd try an apple strudel. Now I'm originally from Germany and our apple strudel looks completely different, but it still almost tasted the same. Very yummy. It's not the cheapest place, but if you're in Hobart you should treat yourself to some of their goodies.
Everything from the location, the staff, the coffee, the food and the pastries is top notch. Parking right in front could be tricky so try park further away and walk to the cafe. The highlight in my recent trips was the Hot Smoked Salmon and creamed leek with potatoes and poached egg. Warmed my soul on a chilly morning.
Loved the atmosphere and food. Had tomato soup and russian salad. Would prefer the salad warm, soup was hot and tasty. For desert, was something with lime === not too sweet, not heavy, loved it. Took the salad home and bought the chocolate bomb. Last one was so amazing. Easy mousse in chocolate but tastes great.
Amazing bakery with a wide range of sweet and savoury options. We had a large group of 11 people and easily found a seat outside on multiple visits. Everything we tried was full of flavour and quite fresh. Drinks were also on par with the high standard set by the food. A must visit for anyone in Hobart!
A wonderful place to great a sweet snack and coffee. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Had espresso tirimisu and a Berry cheesecake. And took the meringue home with us. All were delicious and would eat all again and recommend 100% everyone to go and stop in and grab something to treat themselves
Went here for breakfast and were impressed by variety of cakes. And they actually tasted as good as they looked. Just delightful! Salmon sandwich was over any praise as well. Apricot danish was not that good but nothing could be perfect. Service is very nice too. So well deserved 5 stars:-)
Cakes and foods are great. Staffs are all amazing and friendly. Coffee is not strong and thick and creamy as I would love to however the foods are amazing

Great service; good range of tasty bakery goods, sandwiches, tarts and pies, all with imaginative yummy but not crazy flavour combinations. My smoke salmon on creamed egg on rye was a great, not too heavy lunch! Quick, friendly service. Nice and bright seating area. Great lunch spot.
Wide selection of delicious baked goods. The loose leaf chai tea here is to die for... It was so hard to have just one chicken, leek & tarragon pie. Staff were attentive but didn't hover. We were blessed with the lovely view overlooking the park from the front corner table. Get here!
Our breakfast experience was simply fantastic, especially the chicken pie, which was hands down the best I've ever had. The staff members were not only friendly but also created a welcoming atmosphere. It's truly a picturesque spot to enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee in the morning.
Best pastries and cakes in town. Orange almond cake was moist and delicious, the apple strudel was crunchy and apple sweet, not overpowered by sugar and the fresh croissants crisp and buttery requiring no additions, the best. Coffee was first rate and the wait staff professionals.
It's been a few years since I've visited Hobart and this place is still a standout especially delivering a wonderful breakfast option while the other cafes sleep on. Amazing cakes and slices. I should be grateful I don't live anywhere closer! Wonderful service and ambience
A cute little cafe and pasticceria. Friendly staff, cakes and pastries deserving of its European counterparts. Must be place to visit on any stay in Hobart. If I was to point out any faults - not the most accessible place. More needs to be done to make it more inclusive.
Breakfast. The pastries look wonderful. Alas the spirit is willing but the tummy is not. I had the Eggs Florentine. A croque monsieur, Huon salmon on brioche and a chicken n leek pie. All good. Can’t wait to come back for the pastries. #maneklady #manekeats #manektravels
Coddled eggs... Had to google as I had forgotten what they were. Won't forget again in a hurry - this was one of the most delicious things I have EVER had for breakfast. I can't wait for my next trip down to Tassie so that I can try something else. Great team too!
Absolutely amazing! One of the best specialty patisseries/bakeries I've ever experienced. The best coffee I've had in a while. Everything looks and smells so wonderful it's hard to choose what to have. Such a shame we'll have to go again to try some more. Hahaha.
Delicious range or sweet and savoury meals. Light and flaky croissants fruit tarts, breads, eggs, etc - all yum! And coffee - worth going just for the coffee. Staff were very pleasant. The relaxed Parisian atmosphere in the cafe adds to the overall charm.
This place is incredible, my eyes were devouring all the amazing cakes and food they had on display. It was hard to choose! I ended up with the prawn, fennel and smoked salmon tart. I wish I had more time in Hobart as I would’ve gone back. Next time!
Ordered the croque monsieur + huon aquaculture smoked salmon, fried duck eggs and brioche + smoked salmon, caramelized onions and spinach tart. They all tasted delicious! Also, The staff were friendly and prompt. A great place for breakfast.
berry tarlet pastry was very light with nice creme fraiche filling with berries. however, the chocolate stick and choc beans garnished on the chocolate eclair was completely tasteless although the espresso taste came through strong in the
We came here on Saturday morning because it was raining the markets where quiet and everyone wanted to get out of the rain, they have amazing selection of cakes, pastries and pies and sausage rolls, we had the Turkish eggs. It was nice it
The best in Australia. Their food is so fresh and absolutely delicious. Their pies are scrumptious and if you decide to treat yourself to a pastry or cake, you are in for an absolute treat. I wish they would open branches in Melbourne ❤️
In search of breakfast, at our third cafe of the day, we hit the jackpot. The broccoli soup (de jour) was delicious: well flavoured and creamy. It came with a side of bread and really nice butter. If I could have wrangled the recipe, I
i had coddled egg, hot smoked salmon, creamed leek and potatos with toast for brunch. it was yum - balanced flavour, not too heavy! i very much enjoyed it. i returned again to try their almond croissant. it was crispy and had enough
A beautiful bakery that you can't miss when you have chance to visit Hobart. Its opposite the Parliament house and next to Salamanca market. Outdoor seats are available as well. We totally fall in love with this bakery.
If you would like an utterly magnificent gastronomic experience straight out of Paris then the cakes here are sublime. It is not cheap but the outstanding quality make it excellent value. Possibly the best in Australia.
Love, love, loved it and kept going back each day whilst I was in Hobart to make my way through their amazing savoury goods. Friendly service and chic venue to dine in or order and take your hot pastries away with you.
Wonderful café both in central Hobart and in Sandy Bay making and serving great pastries. My favourite? Can’t go past the delicious Portuguese Custard Tarts!

I am on diet and trying to steer clear of sugar, so I didn’t eat much just a bite here and there of each of the desserts. They were amazing. Perfect place for a coffee and sugar hit if you’re rocking Hobart.
Best coffee and pastry shop. If you have a crave for coffee and fond of pastries then this is your place. The place serves one of the best pastries, tarts, breads and Burek. Offers dine in and take away.
Just delicious! Believe all the good ratings, this place is so worth a visit. It was hard to choose but had a beef pie, coffee and Tarte Tatin. Everything was delicious and the service was lovely.
Exceptional service with personality that made our visit memorable. We had two cakes and a coffee these were all on point. Also wanting to highlight a great gluten free cake selection.
Highly recommend this bakery. The food was fresh and delicious, and coffee was great too! Loved this bakery! Would never go wrong to get some take away pastries from this bakery.
Best breakfast I've ever had in my life. Came here twice in three days, it's just that good. The baked eggs are phenomenal and the croque monsieur is enormous and so tasty.
Beautiful fresh food, good service also nice presentation. The display cabinet have so much choice of pastries and cake! You can’t miss this when you visit Hobart!
Delicious breakfast. Coddled Eggs, smoked salmon, leek and potatoes served with sour dough bread. Great service and atmosphere. Very close to Salamanca Market.
Great coffee, delicious breakfast and treats to go. There were so many superb options for breakfast and lunch. I would highly recommend this as a food stop.
WOW, so much choice. Great for coffee, lunch. Whole menu looked tasty. There's even takeaway to share at home, if you really want to share!
Delicious array of pastries. Great staff and stylish ambience for an upmarket brunch. Enjoyed the coddled eggs with fresh warm baked bread
Edible art in an exquisite setting. No matter what I've selected here it always exceeds expectations and tastes as good as it looks.
Great place for a breakfast. Good coffee, very good service and very good food. Try the avocado with duck egg and almond croissant.
Gorgeous ambience and vibe. Great food and a must visit spot if you’re looking for a cozy brunch. We came back twice and loved it.
The most delectable array of food. Hard to choose as everything looked amazing. Great friendly service.
Delicious pastries and coffee! Attractive restaurant with a great selection to choose from.
