In September 2022, "running through the pain" resulted in limping while I walked. The diagnosis in October was a torn meniscus in my left knee, and I immediately scheduled surgery. But the more I read about the procedure, the more I wondered whether there was another option. It pays to be part of a running community, because I received expert advice from fellow runners who had experienced similar injuries. This advice led to Steve, who, after testing my mobility in early December on my first visit, said this: "You'll see me three or four times over the next three months and, by the end of it, you should be back to running like you were." Fast forward three months and, after four in-person sessions with Steve and multiple reps and sets of strengthening exercises and walk-run intervals, I ran my first 5K without stopping. I'm pretty much running like I used to, covering 10-to-15 miles a week, building slowly but surely back up to my 20-to-25-miles a week summer pattern. The exercises and "pre-hab" therapy have paid off in a big way because I am more aware of every step I take and every breath I take. (There's a song there somewhere. :) Thank you, Steve, for reminding me that slow and steady wins the race!
I mean this completely wholeheartedly, Steve changed my life in a single visit. I have never been able to run comfortably. For the past 12 years I've tried different shoes, different beginner training programs, different running techniques, hours of youtube videos, and always ended up having to quit due to persistent shin splints. Steve analyzed my technique, explained what was causing the pain, and gave me an extremely clear strategy to remediate the issue. He defined the recovery period, necessary exercises and frequency, and made minor changes to my cadence and stride. I followed his instructions to the dot, and boom, no more pain. I'm running further, faster, more frequently, and more comfortably than I ever in my life thought would be possible. I cannot recommend Steve enough! Best decision I've ever made in my fitness career.
I'd *almost* given up. Thought my running days might be behind me. Had convinced myself the sharp pain in my butt, hip, & hamstring was chronic. Orthopedic doctors said I needed expensive spinal injections. Insurance didn't cover them, but I still tried one. It did nothing. A nagging feeling I'd never been properly diagnosed remained. Glad I trusted my gut. And so grateful I found Steve. Dr. White correctly determined I was suffering from proximal hamstring tendinopathy. After just three visits in four months -- in between which I closely followed his carefully curated treatment plans -- I experienced indescribable improvement. Running became joyful again! I was new to running and injured myself by doing too much too early. My doctor referred me to Steve based on her own friend's terrific experience rehabbing a running injury with his help. Not only did Steve immediately and accurately identify what I needed to work on, he also made me feel very comfortable about beginning my running journey. He offered sound advice and lots of encouragement throughout the entire process. Though I recovered some time ago, I still apply his words of wisdom and use the exercises he taught me as I continue to build up my endurance and speed. I highly recommend making an appointment with him, whether you're working to recover from an injury or want to work on your running skills. Either way, he's a very knowledgeable and reliable resource.

Steve spent time reviewing my history and evaluating my mechanics. He understands how the body works and can relate, as he is a competitive runner himself. Steve provided exercises not only to help my injury, but to make “my boat bigger” to avoid future issues. After working with him on my injury I chose to also work with Steve as my running coach. I am a stronger athlete because of his expertise in both fields and have gained confidence in my abilities. I cannot overstate how much Steve has helped and saved my running. I came to Steve struggling with a chronic hip issue and was afraid my running career was over. Steve was able to address the problem, help me reach my goals, and give me a long-term weight training plan. Moreover, I appreciate how he explained everything clearly and cited research to support his methods.
Can’t recommend Steve highly enough. I picked up some nagging injuries training for ultramarathons that countless appointments with orthopedic specialists couldn’t fix. Steve knows his stuff. It’s almost strange receiving care from someone who asks questions and isn’t trying to hurry you out of their office.
I was referred to Steve by my doctor after tearing my meniscus, and over the course of 11 months, through ups and downs, Steve kept such a great attitude and helped me focus on the process, resulting in a wonderful outcome. I cannot recommend him enough!
