It’s tough to give a small business a negative review but the attitudes at this pharmacy are problematic for customers looking to fill a script. There’s been a nationwide shortage of semaglutide for diabetes and weight loss treatments and my partner, who has been taking semaglutide for several months, faced this when his regular pharmacy (Costco) ran out of 2.4 mg two weeks ago. They suggested he try a smaller pharmacy, given potentially different suppliers. Daniels was gracious enough to provide an inventory update after calling 20 or so pharmacies that were all out of stock. With a history of cardiovascular disease and high lipid levels in his family, semaglutide has been the one treatment that has kept his health in check. While struggling to get his prescription transferred from another pharmacy, he went back to his online physician to ask for a new prescription so that we could provide it to Daniels and have them fill it prior to close. This service is no different than using Curology for dermatologic treatments or Nurx for birth control. While on the drive to Daniels, the pharmacist called to say she couldn’t fill it for some odd reason. When we arrived at the pharmacy she was incredibly rude and claimed that the prescription was not legitimate or that the physician was not legitimate and that she wouldn’t be able to fill it since the physician was out of state. (My sister is a pharmacist and I’ve never heard of this rule.) Then, when he presented with a Washington state license (with a SF address), the staff were the rudest I’ve ever seen and said all of this looks shady and they definitely could not fill the script. Maybe it’s the fact that they are in an unscrupulous part of town, but to not work with a patient to verify treatment and need and to insinuate that the patient has some sort of illicit intent is absolutely not acceptable. It’s one dose of semaglutide! It’s not any kind of opioid or scheduled drug that would be desired on a black market. Honestly, I feel bad for them for doing business in this part of town but we’ll be sharing this with all of our network and Reddit and making sure people know that this pharmacy is not where you want to get your medications. You never know who your patients are - please treat them with grace and understanding.
1.They would not call my doctors to authorize refills; nor did they alert me to call. This resulted in me unknowingly being off the medication keeping my autoimmune hepatitis well-managed 2. My doctor discontinued one of my prescriptions due to side effects l was experiencing; instead, she prescribed an alternative medication. Daniels pharmacy did not discontinue the 1st prescription, but instead simply added the 2nd prescription, thereby over-medicating me, and over-charging the insurance company. When I brought this to their attention, they chose to open each individual packet and remove the discontinued drug rather than repackaging the packets correctly. Daniels pharmacy ended up delivering the medicine packets partially open, with pills spilling out everywhere. 3. On 4 different occasions Daniels pharmacy was irresponsible and unprofessional with my prescriptions. 4. On 3 occasions Daniels pharmacy did not alert me in advance that they'd be delivering my prescriptions that day. As a result, there were couple of occasions where l wasn't home to accept delivery, and they wanted to charge me to redeliver my prescriptions. 5. After transferring my prescriptions to Alto pharmacy, Daniels pharmacy did not transfer ALL of my prescriptions, leaving out my diabetes and liver transplant medications. 6. I was without liver transplant medicine for over 4 months; l became sick, without having any idea what was going on.
The pharmacy staff provide outstanding customer service. They demonstrated genuine care to get you the best option and price. They also sell home medical equipment and supplies. When you walk in, there is a US Postal station where you can also pick up UPS deliveries that were not left at your door. There is another station where you can pay you PG&E bills too. Both operate M-F from 9 AM to 6 PM. (Different from the pharmacy). It's an excellent and convenient store that is a true blessing for the Excelsior neighborhood. Thank you!
I recently switched all my prescriptions here from Safeway on Taraval. What a difference. Nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff at Daniel's. Sometimes the parking situation is a challenge, but no worry because they deliver at no charge. At Daniel's I've gotten the best care that I've ever had at a pharmacy. I've had a number of surgeries over the past few years and have had quite a few prescriptions as a result. At Daniel's they handle my needs in a friendly, compassionate manner. I'm never leaving.

DO NOT USE. Failed to fill an essential prescription, then when I called to find out why, they said they couldn't get it and didn't bother to notify me because "they get 500 prescriptions a day, we can't notify everyone, you should go to another pharmacy". I said "so what you're saying is I'm not important enough as a customer?" And they *hung up on me.* What the hell? This is people's healthcare. This place deserves to shut down. I'll follow his advice and go to another pharmacy.
I love this pharmacy for many reasons!! The first is that it’s family owned and operated (which is hard to find these days after major corporations took over) The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s located close to my home and they deliver!!! I have been a customer with them for many years because they always do what they can to ensure I get my medications.
Trying to use small business instead of chain. They say they compound medicines but rejected my script because their “vendors don’t carry it.” No other help in fact rude. So now I have to ask my doc to send a new Rx to another pharmacy. You may want to call & ask if they even carry what you need before using this place.
The food is delicious, and the preparation is almost flawless. The team is also welcoming and well-versed in their respective fields. This fine-dining establishment is ideal. The restaurant's interior design creates a calming and romantic environment suitable for date nights, family celebrations, and business meetings.
I have been using the crew at Daniels Pharmacy for a long long time, at least 25 yrs, yeah 25. And I can say I never have been let down by theses guys, always great service even over the phone. Their Home Delivery system is the only thing that is better.I will use this business for many of my medical needs.
I was a new customer & they showed up unexpectedly with med delivery & then they DEMANDED I PAY a GAS FEE, Their website says FREE DELIVERY but they REFUSED TO honor the FREE DELIVERY as stated on website. They did NOT leave my meds & told me if I needed them I'd have to go to the store & pickup.
A few months ago I went to reload my clipper card, they still had the sign in the window, and the people there were very rude and with a bad attitude they told me they don't do that, I told them you still have the sign in the window saying you do
Undoubtedly the best pharmacy I have ever done business with and I have dealt with many over the past 60 years. They have a very helpful and friendly staff. It is just a great place to do business with.
Excellent customer service, fast and friendly service every single visit. Family atmosphere. They make you feel welcome. I absolutely love going to Daniel's Pharmacy for all my needs.
Great place! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR UPS PACKAGES This is a lifesaver for returning things you ordered online. And they sell stamps. (It's both a Pharmacy and Shipping Center) …
Great local pharmacy. Family owned and operated. If you need to, you can pay your bills here as well and there's a solid mini post office right when you walk in.
