Short version: Paid for 3 units, one damaged, one came without assembly (paid for assembly), one hasn't arrived / no record of it on their system. Was told they won't get stock of it again, now have to change my order and wait another 2 weeks+ Call centre absolutely horrendous to deal with, no proper customer service training. Full story: Most horrendous service I've ever received. Walked in, no staff on the floor for assistance (this is a massive warehouse). Stood around for 5min looking around for anyone I can flag down for assistance. Nothing. Eventually went to the pay kiosk to ask someone for assistance. Ordered 3 units. 2 items were out of stock and I opted for them to deliver the 2 items that were out of stock. They told me they'll get the stock in 2 days and the delivery would be made in 3 days (I was there on a Saturday so delivery should be done by the Wednesday the week after). The item that was in stock, I went around the back to pick it up. We wait for 20min for them to find it and they come out with the wrong unit, they have to take this back and wait another 20min. Finally get the right unit, the guys unloading the unit damaged the bottom of the unit. At this stage I was impatient and didn't care (nobody will see the bottom anyway). I brushed it off and told them it's fine. Come Wednesday, I haven't heard anything from Decofurn regarding the delivery. I phoned them and they told me the delivery will be a day late. I work during the week so I'm not home to accept the delivery. I asked them again to confirm 100% if the delivery will happen. I took annual leave for Thursday so I can be home to accept the delivery. Come Thursday, nothing, at around 11AM I phoned them again and was told they are still waiting for stock. Friday they phone me and say they are on their way, I'm at work. Luckily I was able to head home to accept the delivery. Only 1 of the items was delivered... Their delivery crew doesn't even have record of the other item I paid for and told me I need to phone their offices to sort it out and he can't help me. They proceeded to unload the item, dropped the flat packed furniture piece in the middle of the lounge, cut open the box and handed me the instructions for assembly (I paid extra for assembly) and left. I didn't stop them to ask about it as the way they were handling the box made me want to take care of the assembly myself anyway... I then proceeded to phone their office for the last item that was suppose to be delivered (by the way, phone calls are horrendous with these people, there's various people shouting in the background and they often just tell you mid sentence "hold for me" and then disappear while you're listening to 2 other people talk about what they're having for lunch...). They told me the last unit hasn't arrived yet from their supplier. I was told it would be delivered within the next 3 days. Today, 15 days later, still nothing. I've phoned various times. Sometimes they tell me 2 weeks, sometimes they tell me 2 days. Sometimes they don't even have my order on record. Extremely inconsistent, but at least they're consistent in not being helpful at all. Today I phoned them again, I was now told that the unit I ordered is no longer available and was then asked if I wanted something else... I was again told to "hold for me" and then heard the following: "Isn't there something similar we can give this guy?" in the background. I'm not ordering a breakfast from McDonalds here. I'm ordering an expensive piece of furniture with a specific color (that I already paid in full for). I've now resorted to changing my order to another color and was told the stock would arrive in 2 weeks (highly doubt it). Never again.

I experienced disgusting service at Decofurn today! Firstly I was told that the chair I wanted was not in stock..I asked the sales consultant if I could purchase one that was on the floor and I was told that this was not permitted at Decofurn. I then settled for one that was in stock. My mom wanted to purchase 8 dining room chair cushions and was told that their were only 6 but that they could order an extra two. She settled for this and paid. When we went to collections, we waited about 20 minutes before we were told that there were actually no cushions and that my mom would need to go talk to the "boss". After telling her that they scanned the wrong item and that they actually do have stock, they refunded her as they over charged her and we went back to collections..anothet 20 minutes went before I received my chair. Still no cushions. When my mom went and inquired, no one knew what was happening.. Then one of the guys told her that ANOTHER mistake was made regarding payment for the cushions and she had to go to back AGAIN so that a refund could be done. When we finally received the cushions I was horrified to see the chair that I originally wanted being packed into someone else's car behind us and it came straight from the floor! I am disgusted and I will not be recommending you guys to anyone because I'm sure that anyone would rather pay extra for service that is better than yours.

I am from out of town and needed to get an office chair for my daughter at hostel. I checked online and saw two potential chairs, on sale, and wanted to test it before buying. We walked into the showroom and no-one made eye contact (there were no more than 3 customers in that big showroom), finally someone showed up after we found the chairs our self. I asked whether these were on sale chairs, as no sale marker on chair, to which she said NO. I said that is strange as it was online on sale. She then double checked and surprise surprise...they were on sale. I then specifically asked whether this includes all required tools as I have no tools with me and was assured the required Allen keys were included. Fast forward a few hours - no tools, we are running around in a residence trying to find a screwdriver not Allen keys, get one, assemble EXACTLY as per instruction but the chair won't stay up. Next day take it back and after 30mins they realize the instructions were unclear! You need to remove the cylinder cap which I do not know as I never assemble office chairs! Please manager train your staff on product offerings, client service, promotions & instructions. This place will never see me again.

Great instore assitance... Then delivery happens and its a nightmare. We ordered and scheduled a delivery for 2 weeks from the date... Everything was in order. Then they called us 2 days before the delivery date wanting to deliver to which we had to decline as we were not yet in our new residence. Come the day of delivery, we called in and the staff seemed panicked, yet promised to deliver before 5pm... We waited and then received a call to say that the van broke down, but hubby and I called BS as we knew from the first call that day, that they already messed up. They promised to assemble for free and we accepted. I mean what could we do, we had to wait for delivery either way. The next day our assembled goods arrived missing legs and the the rubber stops at the end of the legs on some items, so we had to drive out again the next day to go and collect which defeated the entire purpose of us paying for delivery... So instore shopping is great but delivery is a big no no. I will rather go in to buy and make a plan than have to sit with the delivery burden again.

I've been ordering furniture from Decofurn for many years and I've never has any issues until today. I understand that there is a backlog of orders and delivery due to the Black Friday rush, but I'm absolutely appalled at the lack of communication and transparency about my order. My order was to be delivered on Wednesday, which ended up not materializing as it was 21h30 and the driver was unable to fulfill the delivery. I called Thursday morning to get an update, and was told that it would be delivered by Thursday afternoon. Thursday afternoon passes, and I call at 16h30 to find out once more of the progress of my delivery. The customer agent tells me she'll call the driver and call me back, and alas, I am still waiting to learn anything about my order. This is officially the last time I support or advocate for this business. I'm not asking for favours as I've paid for the my goods and for delivery, but just for transparency and open cards. Absolutely pathetic.

I made a 4 months payment on two chairs that would have complimented my living room. Unfortunately when I arrived at decofurn to collect my items the cashier attitude towards me was rude and disgusting. She stated that they only had one chair in stock and that they discontinued manufacturing the chairs. She looked at me annoyed when I asked her if there is an alternative solution and started to give me attitude. Her behaviour was unnecessary since I have been paying for four months under the pretense that I would be receiving two chairs on the day of collection. I do feel the manager should send there admin staff to a customer care workshop because they do not know how to conduct themselves infront of customers. Needless to say I had to fetch my money the next day which was a huge inconvenience for me. I wouldn't advice anyone to buy furniture from them.

What an excellent experience at Decofurn. Not only were the products very competitively priced, there was help as soon as we entered the store so we could find what we saw online. The display of products and layout really goes a long way to helping you visualise how it will look in your home. There is a huge range from lounge to bedroom and study. Would be nice to add a significant kitchen and bathroom section as well. You can also buy products on lay-by through the ZeroPay programme. That said, the payment process was a bit drawn out and the cashiers desk did not unfortunately, live up to the excellent service of the shop-floor staff. That said, the dispatch department guys have good humour and made the process easy and painless. On the home front, assembling the product was easy, but you can have Decofurn do that too for a small fee.

Terrible. Walked in there, nobody to greet me. I looked across the floor and didn't see any staff. I was there to buy a bed. I found my way to where the beds were, still no sight of anyone. I wondered around not knowing what to look for. I left totally disgruntled after hearing what sounded like a staff party behind the partition. As I was leaving I spotted a side table but it had no price. Still no one in sight. As I walked out the door I saw someone with an apron on talking loudly to a security guard. I motioned to her to help me and she finished her conversation before coming over. She just pointed and said it's the same price as the other table (which was a completely different table) and walked off. I am so glad I went to mattress warehouse in Ndabeni beforehand where I got great service. I am buying my R10 000 bed from them.

I'm very disappointed at Decorfurn Furniture. I recently bought a Lshape couch, I looked around online before I decided to buy two couches That amounted to R10 000. One a sleeper couch.. I paid in cash. The Lshape treding come loose after not evens 5 months. , I've send numerous of emails, pictures. Finally not replying to my last email, but the driver phones me 2 days ago,. They replace only the one long side, that is not what I was complaining about. I want a new couch or a refund. It's a factory fault, I can't see why a product of R7000 loosen between the sewing stitching. And it's not a year old. Wrong. I saved up for something decent, to last years. Tazlee Kandon is my name. I send you guys a email again yesterday. I will take this matter further.

4 years ago I purchased from Decofurn...online, it was a good experience with no issues. Then I decide to buy from the Kenilworth store and it just became and still is an ongoing very painful experience. The lack of Management skills; professionalism and customer service from senior people at the store is appalling especially from Mark and Julian (who is almost never there or unavailable). Even on Saturday 15 April, he was at the store but refused to see me when called for, instead I was forced to once again liaise with Mark. I do not recommend this store, nor will I purchase from there again, head office needs to place proper management personnel at their stores, people who are competent, efficient and customer orientated.

First let me say the sales staff and actual items bought are great. My issue is with the delivery (R450). There was was no communication before adding delivery that they would not assist us if there was no elevator access ( the couch was too big elevator) which according to them happens often. When I called the next day I was told if I look on the website I accepts the t&cs I told them I bought the item in store and the this was not disclosed to me. I was then transferred to the manager who preceded to have a an attitude about the fact that I should have ensured that there was reasonable access before I paid. I will never use their delivery service again they were dismissive and rude.

The furniture is really nice but the service is utterly disgusting. After specifically asking that they had stock, on the day of delivery I get a call to inform me that they had no stock. I called the manager three times and each time was told he would call me back and he never did. The one time I was on hold for him I could hear him talking about me to one the employees but he never bothered to come to the phone. If you ask me, senior management need to step in and pull this shop together. It has potential but its staff are letting it down badly. I am still waiting on my mattress and I will NEVER use there service again, nor would I recommend anyone go there ever.

This place is like unto a cemetery. You walk in and no assistance. Everybody is sitting around. No eye contact to see what new clients is coming in. Two clients walked before me as I walked in and after not being seen to, they walked out again. The furniture are more alive then the staff. You literally have to go to a staff member for assistance. Please manager train your staff clientele. At receiving everyone is sitting around and busy on their mobiles. I asked if they could open the boxes so that I could see if all parts were in the boxes, they said it can't be done. If it wasn't that I had to pick up something for my daughter, this place wouldn't have seen me.

Pathetic service at the Kenilworth branch. Dealt with staff and management. Purchased 2 items at the end of Nov and only received the final item on the 17th of Jan. Manager promised delivery due to the delay but I was told by a staff member that she has no idea when they will deliver I just had to wait??? Also when purchasing the items, I paid for assembly but the cashier only billed for the assembly of one item when I purchased 2 items. Eventually after collecting the last item I discovered I wasn’t billed for the assembly of the 2nd item and I came home with box filled with goods (that is hopefully a stand). PATHETIC SERVICE!

I came in to just choose my item color and pay, but there was hardly Staff to assist me, and when I asked for an explanation on how to assemble my item, the Staff couldn't give me a demo because they weren't knowledgeable on how the item was to be assembled anyway. Also, when I called to find out when my item was too be delivered, no one could give me an answer and I ended up waiting till late the night. When I asked them to assemble my item for me, I was told they have to go another place first to drop an item off and would return to assist me, however they did not return and I had to struggle to assemble the item myself.

Bought the Joey L shaped sofa and within 24hrs the seams started coming loose. I immediately called to return and get my full refund. After showing them proof of damaged product, they agreed to give full refund ( awaiting refund) but I would have to pay R450 delivery fee. Poor quality furniture is not the customers fault. Customers shouldn't be held responsible for any expenses including delivery. The consultant was friendly and I got same day delivery which is why I'm giving them 2 stars. However, they had poor quality furniture and we lost money for returning the product!

I was so impressed when I first came here to buy some furniture for my place, Carol was friendly and professional and made it so enjoyable I came back to purchase more items. I initially wanted to be helped by her but she was bust and another lady assisted me, she seemed less interested and but I never minded her. I waited an hour to pay for my goods and when it came to collecting my items at the back I was informed after waiting another 20min that they had no stock (this after I asked what was taking so long) thank you but no thank you, I like consistency.

Leaves much to be desired. Low number of staff on the floor. I bought an item in-store, paid and filled out my details. When I followed up after waiting just under 2 weeks, the person who helped gave me the weirdest of name & phone number. I dunno if it is human error or machine - I would suggest maybe buying online. And you will always be purchasing a puzzle here. Free up your schedule. It would be 1 star but I was adequately assisted & managed to track my order but still. That rigmarole was unnecessary + the items I've bought have not failed so.

Lots of reasonably priced furniture and fair delivery prices. You get what you pay for so not everything is great quality. I struggled to get them on the phone and they kept changing their story about when items would arrive but after sending an email complaint, my order was finally fulfilled and fully assembled as compensation for the delays. Rather go in-store and order items in stock if possible. I'd also recommend bringing a friend along to wait in the payment queue while you pick out items as the queue gets very long on Saturdays.

Good furniture. Terrible service. Lots of sales staff sitting around. Empty warehouse. Long queue for single cashier. Painful waste of time. placed order, waited 30 minutes for cashier. Went to collect it , waited another 20 minutes. They bring out the item i ordered, and its a different shade to the display one on the shop floor. They try to tell me its the same, but we hold the thngs next to each other, it is NOT. Another painful wait to get refund. Visit to Decofurn was overall an extremely frustrating and time wasting exercise.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE.. absolutely HORRIBLE service.... I constantly have to call them to follow up on my items, they make empty promises. Wasting my time and money. It is really disturbing that in these trying times a company can treat a customer that purchased nearly R20K worth of items so ill. I will never ever look at this place again. I'm still waiting for a call back from someone...Only reason they got one star - I had to click post.. They are not worth anything in my opinion.

Service was a bit slow and there was a lot of back and forth between having to pay and then go and check in the warehouse and then check with the delivery guys and then back to check in the front again. Not just a simple proces to buy goods. Update. Goods arrived but the main table was not assembled even though we had paid for assembly. We phone the store the next day and the call got dropped. We called back and Brandon said he would sort it out but never called back. Really poor service.

The service at the Despatch department was horrific. I've purchased from the company before and because I am a female, I was assisted well with the loading and made it easy with the offloading at home. This time round they were in such a rush to get rid of me and all the Despatch Assistants were just sitting around doing absolutely nothing as I was the only customer there. A very efficient and well planned out process, from the show room to collection point. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Everything went smoothly however it would be nice as a first time customer to have a notice explaining the process when entering this will help with not feeling lost after every step. Other that there was enough free parking on site and the showroom was spacious with lots on display. I would recommend looking on the website before visiting them.

Decofurn is super cool. Really enjoyed the customer experience. The showroom at Kenilworth in Cape Town is stunning, the staff were friendly, payment easy, delivery was fast and the communication was great. Letting a customer chose morning or evening delivery is a nice touch so a person doesnt have to sit all day waiting. I enjoyed the assembly, however decofurn could do better with some youtube videos as with the product codes. Will definitely buy again.

The process of buying what you want is confusing, u have to search high and low to find a salesperson, then they help u as if ur bothering them, then they do not give you all the information u need, eg if you need the item assembled u can't just get to the cashier and inform her cause they don't know the cost u have to go back and ask ur sales person. This whole experience could be better with more visible and willing sales people on the floor

Great products and great service and great prices. Buying process is seamless and straightforward, choose your products, pay and go. Products are compactly boxed and requires self assembly, easy to follow instructions are included as well as all the needed hardware and tools. For an idea of size, I was able to fit a double bed and desk in the back of my hatchback with the seats folded down. Same day delivery is also available at a cost

Terrible service from online store and head office. I've been contacting them since December to find out about a missing leg of one of the chairs I received. I also received an office chair with no screws. What kind of a business are you running. How do you expect customers to put together your furniture when you guys dont even send the neccessary parts. I keep on hearing we will get back to you. But you dont ever do that! Pathetic

Access park Kenilworth experience: Their sofa's on the showroom floor are not the same as the ones they sell you. Showroom floor ones are much more comfortable. In addition their face to face customer service is non existing, they wont allow you to speak to a manager and when a manager does "supposedly" get your message, they do not want to assist. Never buying from them again, they're bunch of jokes to the furniture industry.

Quality of furniture is terrible. Bought a set of couches. The wood inside the couch is of such poor quality that any pressure you put on it, it will crack. The material of the couch is not good either, it frays and is very thin. The customer service is not good either. I had given my couches away in preparation for the delivery of my couches from decofurn, only for them to tell me they would not deliver it.

The system the store has employed works excellently. It gives a modern twist to buying furniture and set this company apart from its competition. Also, we bought a bookshelf and two bar chairs at the store and the idea of assembling it yourself was a great activity at home. All the screws and tools were inside the books with instructions. Futher, the prices are affordable and you get variety to choose from.

Bought a sofa from Decofurn and within 9 months of normal use, it already has broken strings. It's still on warranty and for them to repair it, I apparently have to foot the transportation bill myself, a detail they left out when explaining the warranty terms. I also bought a grey dining table 4 months ago, it's already chipping and looks 3 years old. I'm very unhappy with the quality of their furniture.

Decofurn Furniture, the coat-stand I bought from you disintegrated after less than 6 months of normal usage, clearly demonstrating that the legs could not take a normal load. Although you say your items are guaranteed for 12, your customer services refuse to exchange this. So what use it this policy? This was a very bad experience and I’ll definitely not be shopping at Decofurn in future.

Got what I needed but you must make sure of the special prices as they always give you the original price first until you tell them it's on special on their website or catalogs. And the assembling prices are just way way too high. An item that said R70 to assemble on their website, they wanted to charge me R380 to do it and I would still have to come back later to collect.

They provide the most unfriendly customer service I have ever experienced and the irritating part is that it's not the first time. I've gone to this store so many times but this time I just had to put down this review. I love the products but the staff at the counters are absolutely pathetic!

South Africa's IKEA? Decent, modern looking stuff at fairly good prices especially when on sale. Staff reluctant to help at times even when you have the "I need assistance" look on your face. Collections can also be a pain if it's very busy which it can be. Had a delivery within 3 hours of being at the store once which was very good though and surprisingly cheap

I am interested in 3 set recliner set and have been going there for the past 2 weeks to enquire on stock availability but every time I get told that the stock will be arriving later the day, tomorrow, next week and so it goes on. Not prepared to pay in advance for something that might never come. My partner waited nearly 3mths for his products that he paid for.

This place is amazing. I saw what I needed online, there’s an option to chat with someone I sent a message and within minutes the lady assisted me. Went to the shop and got exactly what I needed. Their furniture is good quality at an affordable prices. The staff was lovely and helpful. Even assembled my table for a good price. I’m definitely going back.

Nice products, good pricing, great service, but ruined by the following: Sadly, the entire area where you collect your furniture from is a smoking section. When we were there, all the guys working in this area were smoking. Even collecting the receipt from me in my car with a cigarette in his hand, leaving my car stinking. What a disgusting experience.

Shop is good but the service sucks. Hardly anyone on the floor. I bought a product. They said hey would deliver. But no. Called forever but no answer. Went to the shop only to find that the item was at another warehouse and would only be delivered later in the week. I hope they call so I can once again make sure there is someone there when they arrive.

Pros: Wide Variety of modern and affordable furniture. Free and fast delivery when purchased online. Cons: Incredibly poor after sales service. Product quality average with poor workmanship. Slow turnaround time to exchange faulty products (I waited 12 days). Customer care agents unprofessional and not helpful.

Furniture is of good quality. Pricing is reasonable and variety of furniture styles available are good. Staff on the other hand are not so effecient. One broken promise after another, staff are eager to take their breaks and go home instead of helping customers. Don’t bother calling them either, telephone etiquette clearly missing from training material. Don’t complain either because no one will take ownership or even attempt to resolve your issue

They have amazing furniture and stylish decor items at lower prices than you would find at chain stores in shopping malls. Not all the items are great quality but most are...check before you buy. The place has ample parking and helpful employees. I visited the one behind Access park retail centre.

We bought the Artic 5 door chest which looks great on the outside, but don't be fooled. The interior is of such poor quality we can't use it! Literally a week after purchasing this, the bottom of all the drawers collapsed. The service received has been very, very poor. We are not impressed at all.

Great selection of furniture at reasonable prices. Needed an office chair and they have many options to try out. We needed to check that the item we were buying would fit in our vehicle and they carried the demo model out to our car for us to test before buying. Very happy with our purchase!

The shop is big and open and clean. They had what I needed but it was difficult to get assistance for my purchase. I would say that if I had not known what I wanted when i arrived the experience would have more annoying. The product meets expectations at this stage.

The place has a unique set of variety, but the service of the staff can be improved a heck hell of a lot(not all) . At least have a smile on your face when entering the shop. It doesn't cost a cent instead of getting irritated when asking questions about your store.

Staff is amazing. I'm not so happy with the quality of the products for the price it's not worth it. I got a TV stand and a coffee table and if you put a glass on the coffee table it leaves a bubbling texture on the surface. Cold or hot beverages which is strange.

Absolutely terrible place. We purchased a cupboard for my daughter. The drawers were breaking not even 2 months after use. We called multiple times and were told that we would get a call back however that never happened. We will never purchase from Decofurn again!

Great place to get discount furniture! Note that most of the stuff you buy is IKEA-style self assemble, but for the decent prices you pay you get quality good looking furniture. Delivery service is great too, they'll deliver to your home as needed.
