This is one of my favourite lunch spots when I'm on break at work! I only have 30 minutes for lunch so I appreciate a place that offers tasty as well as healthy options that can be served quickly. The staff have always been so kind and welcoming when I come in which I find is less and less common at a lot of cafes these days. One of the women that works there, who I believe is the owner, always makes an effort to say "hi" to me when I come in and she has even memorized my name! How's that for nice and welcoming customer service? I've never had a bad meal from this place and the food is consistently tasty. I like that they tend to have different and delicious specials each day. The only take-back is it is a little bit on the pricier side and I believe they close around 3:30 which makes it hard to get there if you're a late luncher. Other than that, I really like this place and plan to continue being a regular whether it's for a quick coffee or a tasty sandwich for lunch. Thanks for the consistently great service! :)

Alrighty..best sandwich in this neighborhood. Granted, I only order the turkey club (sometimes with the cheddar), and frankly these cooks don't know how to make a bad sandwich..every time it is fresh and good portioned, tasty and prepared properly. There's rarely a wait when I'm on my break from barber work nearby.. is open on weekdays when I need lunch. Hands down the best sandwich..there is no competing for this first prize for fresh oven roasted turkey and bacon club. With a san Pellegrino it's my go to with a fresh banana on my lunch for about 20$...well worth it when I'm hungry and in the weeds for good food. Thanks especially to Tony a master at his craft...so good, and can't be beat this sandwich. Go full size or half at the counter indare you not to fall in love with lunch again.

Used to be good food, good size portions for prices a tiny bit over average but completely worth the taste. Now the sizes have been cut in half and they charge way more for it and the taste doesn’t compare to before at all. The “full size” sandwich I got charge an extra 3-4 dollars for “upsizing” is the same size as the half sandwich combo (which is about the size of a fist) they had before. Combo price being $12~ and my total was $15+. I wonder if they switched owners/cooks because I cant recognize anyone who works there anymore. Makes me wonder if what I got was the full sandwich (which I with my smaller than average mouth can finish in 4-5 bites) does that mean the combo half sandwich is only 2-3 bites? TLDR: Foods changed (downgraded really) but the taste is still kind of? decent, just that they charge you a crazy amount for it now and it’s ridiculous.

The blueberry cinnamon scone was fantastic- really wasn’t expecting it to be that great but it beat all expectations! Was perfectly baked and not too sweet, blueberries still juicy and the pastry base was perfect. Knocked a star off because the coffee was a bit bitter and generally the atmosphere of the cafe was a bit lackluster. Very good service though! Limited seating available but free wifi so you can sit down and work if you must (though I wouldn’t recommend it, more of a chat/catch up place). Overall a good experience, definitely check out their baked goods- seems to be their specialty. Will be returning to try the sandwiches as well, they looked quite exciting!

Don't judge a book by it's cover - this best describes this coffee shop! First of all...the coffee is AWESOME. not only do they serve really good coffee, their cookies are too die for...they're huge and moist, and quite chewy too (esp. peanut butter oatmeal cookie).. I really need to control myself so I don't dont finish it all at one go. If you are into sandwhiches, the tuna melt sandwhich is amazing...I couldn't stop thinking about it after I tried it for the first time, and of course now I always go back for more. They also offer shakes, protein-related snacks, and hot soup. If you ever walk past here, try their soup and sandwich combo, it will make your day.

Deja Brew has really become something special since they took over the location about 5 years ago. At this time they've perfected their menu. The lunch specials are unique and great tasting. I've tried just about every sandwich on their menu with no complaints. The soups are also tasty. Large portions for a single bowl, and just the right size for a side with a sandwich. The nutella espresso chocolate cookie is a also a favourite to take home and have in the afternoon. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and seem to keep good relationships with the regulars.

Deja Brew deserves 10 stars, but I can only award five, so here's why. 1. The staff are awesome. They are friendly and helpful and make the most AMAZING breakfast sandwiches. 2. The food and coffee are top notch. See above re: breakfast sandwiches, also the prices are fair. 3. The place is local - here's to supporting solid local businesses and avoiding massive chains like blendz and Starbucks when possible! And Deja Brew makes it easy. One of my favorite places in the VGH neighborhood.

Great Cafe with great espresso and food. I come for lunch and coffee when I have a chiropractor appointment in the area. I usually eat the Diablo chicken club. It's absolutely delicious. It can be busy but they are very good at getting orders out quickly.

Amazing soup!!! The best in my office area! I had their Today's special - Shrimp Pasta with Garlic Bread and Tomato Basil Soup. So filling and very reasonable price. My coworker had the Tuna Melt Half Sandwich. Looked awesome and good size. I am going to try every thing on the menu.

Best coffee in the area, hands down. Food is made fresh each day and service is friendly. 2020 edit: Their prices have jumped to be quite a bit higher than the other nearby shops. Still the best coffee in the area, but I find myself visiting less after the steep price increase (was $2.25 previously, now is almost $3 for a standard 12oz coffee). I feel the need to reduce my review to 4 stars based on this.

Lovely cafe, great food! One of the very few places in town where Celiac/gluten free people are not limited to eating rice crispies. They made me a fresh Gluten free sandwich. Their bread was perfectly toasted, again, unlike many places that eigher do not toast the gf bread or end up burning it. Beating myself up for not visiting this place sooner.

I'm French so I can be picky with food. Delicious chicken Diablo sandwich (chicken, bacon, salad, tomato on brown bread), and friendly staff. Nice relaxing place too, where you can get some work done, with plugs to charge your laptop.

There was a couple ahead of me that ordered fancy coffees and food. I ordered one regular brew coffee. The barrista made their fancy coffees and food order before I got my 10 second pour coffee. Yes, I sound entitled but I've never had to wait 5 minutes anywhere else for just a poured coffee.

Glad I found this lovely place with friendly staff. Baristas head to toe tidy, bandanas, gloves, of course masks on. I was impressed by the coffee's taste as well. Also their snack section has a nice variety that compliments the delicious drinks. I will most definitely visit again Thank you for your service …

Ordered a cappuccino and a medium roast drip. Yes, indeed, I drink a lot of coffee. Cappuccino was nicely balanced, good foam, not to hot, not too much milk in the espresso. Drip coffee was pretty standard. Great interior, and the baked goods looked great (but alas, I was not grabbing anything). Would try again.

Been coming here frequently for lunch as I work around here. Love their lunch specials, soups, salads, drinks for reasonable prices. The lunch specials remind me of home cooked meals which is really cosy - would recommend.

Asked if they'd be able to heat up one of their day-old cinnamon buns to go with my coffee - no. No? ok... Totally not a biggie, just was surprised. ya, i thought they might of not heard me so I repeated the question & pointed to the bun - same answer. Took it as a sign - no bun for you

Good sandwiches and coffee at fair prices. Not that this place has put tape over their power outlets, so this is not a place to get work done or use a laptop. The clients here are mostly workers from VGA. I think the food/décor is 85% there, so pretty good for an independent place.

  • Annette Thompson

I came here because I had some time before a doctors appointment. I ordered avocado toast, tomato basil soup and the watermelon cucumber refresher. They were so nice and the food was great! I’ll be coming early next doctor appointment just to go here again. Thank you!!

  • Lane Snider

Deja Brew coffee is great. I've tried much of their menu and enjoyed it. Their staff are super-friendly, yet professional. Very reasonably priced in this market, but with outstanding coffee and specialty drinks. Their Power Cookie is amazing as are their pasteries!

  • Nitin Goyal

Me and friend came to work at this place and really liked it! Window side seating with high chairs and enough plugs for laptop/ phones. The staff was super friendly and food and drinks were good and at a reasonable price. Definitely coming back here to work again!

Great food and service. Clean place, relaxing atmosphere with a simple yet cozy wooden decore. Beans are locally roasted, ingredients were fresh and tasty. The coffee is strong! Plus they had some Jack Johnson on the speakers.

  • Marisa Thi (Patissiere)

Very friendly quick service and excellent sandwiches and soups. A little bit on the pricey side but it is worth it in my opinion. On my last visit I had the daily special of a half tuna melt and the lemon chicken orzo soup.

  • Lesley Cosco

I love this place and right in the neighbourhood! Fresh food, interesting menu and a wonderfully friendly team. I have seen a big change in the staff lately though is it under new management by chance? The best sandwiches!

Consistently good coffee and sandwiches. Good place to come for a little pick me up and a stable lunch spot. Harry, the owner, is very friendly. My favourite is their chicken diablo sandwhich.
