I went thru a ugly divorce for 9 years ,3 different lawyers and ridiculous amount of money with TC family law. Which only ended in disappointment which caused me to almost give up until I met Graeme Kluge. I am a single mom with 2 young girls so I had a lot riding on this divorce. I always tried to retain female lawyers thinking they will understand me better, and will be able to relate to my situation. After three female lawyers, and absolutely no progress, I retained Graeme. I first met Mark in 2012 when I separated and started, what I had thought would be a fairly straight-forward, divorce proceeding. Nothing could be further from the truth. It took four years during which time we faced three different lawyers on opposing counsel, had three separate court appearances each with a different Justice, a Family Practice Note 8 assessment and, finally, a Judicial Dispute Resolution. This was a challenging, frustrating and, frankly, exhausting process but Mark stood by my side the entire time, never wavering in his support nor commitment. I had the unfortunate experience of having Sean as my "Lawyer". I did most of the leg work myself and he just signed papers and argued with me non stop. Everything i said was wrong and whatever my ex wife said he agreed with 100% and argued for! I ended up settling to pay 60k above the required support federal guidelines due mostly to Sean's incompetence. He also told my wife's ex lawyer everything we spoke about breaking ethical rules governing his license which i disliked. I cannot afford to see my children anymore as they live out of province thanks to Sean's work. When it came time for a settlement i had to argue my own "lawyer" off an extremely high number which i never owed to begin with. I'd recommend staying away from this firm and Sean. I took this case to 3 other lawyers near the end and they all said Sean made a lot of mistakes and you're in a bad position thanks to him. He wouldn't even walk down the court house steps with me so that tells you how lazy he is. He also forgot key pieces of evidence during this entire process because he never listened to me ever and was only concerned with settling with any number to get it over with. I cannot say enough negative things about this "lawyer" and his gross incompetence.

My experience started off so amazing. Was very pleased with everything I was learning. I enjoyed chats with my lawyer and felt like she really cared. As my separation went on, my lawyers time value was increased, and it was clear my case wasn't valuable anymore. I am waiting on 1 single form that after many many back and forths, still isn't correct. Makes me feel like the first person to ever get separated. Because clearly this paperwork has never been done before by anyone in this office. This one form has cost me months of time to finish my separation. I work long shifts and can be hard to reach for a few days, so while I may be hard ish to communicate with, that isn't an excuse for spending months on the same form. They officially dismissed me as a client with no notice before finishing the one form correctly. I assume over a bill worth $160 that I haven't yet covered. Because they haven't finished my settlement due to their own form. Why would I pay a bill for work that is only happening because of their own inability to do paperwork. While my anger makes me want to post a 1 start review over how this ended, the beginning was worth 5. If they just finished the work, it would be 5.

Graeme Kluge and his assistant Kyla Baker were excellent to work with. They are very professional and understanding. I never felt like my case or myself were not a main priority even though they have many cases. They were efficient and completed everything in a timely manor. I always felt they listened, and guided me in the right direction, and it ended with a success. I am thankful to Graeme for all his hard work and the outcome in the end. I have used lawyers previously and found them shrugging me off and or not returning calls and dragging things out. This was never the case working with Graeme, he always answered questions and returned calls and emails in a timely manor. I definitely would recommend to use Graeme for your future lawyer, like I said it was amazing working with him and he gets the job done! Going through a marriage dissolution is difficult enough (emotionally, mentally, socially) so the less painful the actual mediation process the better it is for one's well-being. Having Mark as our mediator made the agonizing process so much more tolerable. He was professional yet personable. He was serious but also understanding. He was also very patient as he explained each step of the way, making sure we understood what was happening. He was on holidays with his family but he still took the time to answer his emails (even though he said he wouldn't ;). I had Sean Schaefer as my lawyer in a messy divorce. At the end I got more than I expected and a ton of good advice. I really liked how Sean explained from the beginning that I should not think about what I want to win but rather what I'm willing to lose, because divorce is a lose-lose situation no matter what. Sean worked with me to devise a strategy that would work for me (based on my personality). He tried hard to avoid court appearance because they are costly. When the other party insisted on court and refused to negotiate, Sean fought hard. Even the judge noted that his arguments were good, to the point, and covered many angles, so there is no room for misinterpretation. Communication was clear and timely. I was never left in the dark for too long and never had to prepare tons of documents over night. I was always given advance notice of what I needed to do.

Sean and Tayna were so amazing and made the process of my husband adopting my daughter so easy and stress-free. We were not an easy case as we had no contact with my daughters bio-father and I was scared it would be a long horrible process like my divorce was (with another lawyer it took 5 years).
