Basic budget no frills rentals. Van I hired was not flash but ran perfectly with aircon too. Guy is very pleasant to deal with and didn't try any dodgy stuff. Building has literally no signage but Google maps indicates the location very accurately and the street is not long, so it isn't hard to find. One caveat if you are a Comm bank customer with a debit card, you will need to pay a $550 deposit and Comm bank can hold this pending transaction for up to 30 days. Though he put through the transaction as a 1 cent purchase (upon returning van) which should hopefully see it returned to me in 3 days. (edit: deposit returned to my account within 2 business days) Though I credit the guy for being completely honest about this up front. If you are looking for a valeted vehicle and frilly depot, go elsewhere. If you want to hire a van/small truck that works fine and is fairly cheap, go no further.

After being let down by another rental company , i stumble across Discount car and truck rental with a last minute request of a pantech truck. Luckily they happen to have one left. From the positive reviews i had read Aziz ( owner ) lived up to everyone of my expectations. The truck i had rented was about 10 years old , well maintained , was in good working order and rental was competitively price. I hadn't finish my move so i rang on Monday asking for a one-day extension and Aziz happily complied. Next day upon returning the truck Aziz gave me a 20% discount for the extra day hire which is always welcome and also got my bond refunded in cash. From start to finish It was a pleasure experience. Aziz operates a good honest business he is an asset to the local community. Would highly recommend thier vehicles and yes ill definitely be back.

THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE CALLED ME AND THREATEN ME IF I DIDN'T TAKE DOWN THIS POST, HE TOLD ME HIS WIFE WORKS FOR IMMIGRATIONS AND HE WAS GOING TO MAKE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL, HAD TO CALL THE POLICE AND MAKE AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT AGAINST THIS INDIVIDUAL AND COMPANY! Worst service ever! Do not rent from this place... I book a truck a week in advanced and when we went to pick it up he didn't have it! He didn't call to tell us or even call the customer that had it until we got there. We had to waste the entire morning looking for another truck. He refused to take responsibility for his mistake too! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!

The first time I went to this place it looked very shady and unsafe. Now, I won't rent a car anywhere else in Sydney. The rates are amazing, and the guy that runs the shop is very nice, sensible, and easy-going. I have rented cars for weekend trips to Canberra as well as just for a few hours for going into the suburbs and things. The cars were always clean and drove well. No muss or fuss, nothing really fancy, but absolutely served its purpose. I definitely recommend it.

Quite disappointed that the person on the phone, assumed to be the owner, refused to procure the insurance policy, for my review, attached to the contracts before I signed the documents to hire a truck. Would have thought it a requirement by law to disclose this information, but apparently this individual thought that their verbal guarantee was enough. Sadly for them they won’t ever receive business from me or anyone I know who is looking for a truck hire service.

I am shocked to see such negative reviews. My wife and I have hired cars from this branch on several occasions and found the manager there to be polite and helpful every time we have been there. The prices are fair, the cars we use have always been clean and have no qualms about hiring from there in future. I was in the process of recommending a friend of mine to Discount and saw the first reviews and had to write of my experiences with the company.

Terrible customer service, extremely rude and unfriendly. The address is not in Ultimo anymore - be aware. We started our holidays 2 1/2 hours later because we went to the wrong address that wasn't updated on their webpage. Not to forget that we took a cab there with our heavy bags and we had to walk to the new location in the heavy rain. We ended up being yelled at - it was apparently our mistake (...) I'd NEVER go there again

We rent trucks from Nizzar very often, always have had good experience. The service is very straight forward, not like other companies where you hire a truck and last minute they charge you more or change the pick up location, and when you have an issue there is too much bureaucracy to deal with, instead the owner will be there to give you help and resolve any problem you have. Definitely recommended!

I rented a car from this Discount Car Rentals at Hudson st, the service provided was excellent, the car was great as well as the prices! Also very close to the train station. I had to wait couple of minutes until they sprayed the car for us as it was parked outside with little bit of tree leaf on it, other than that we got what we asked for the price we wanted!

Decent truck rental, the guy who organised everything was helpful and friendly. We got there just before 8am on a Saturday and there were a few people before us, so recommended that you get there atleast 20 mins before your estimated departure time. Truck worked well, easy to drive, lots of space.

Aziz is a total legend. This truck made a very strenuous move so much easier and the lifting mechanism at the back saved us!! The whole process of renting it was seamless and Aziz was very responsive and helpful. 10/10 recommend and will be back if I ever need a truck again!

Truck rented did the job and I wasn't expecting latest or new. As their name suggests value for money vehicles located on a small corner spot off Crystal st with friendly and helpful service. Have rented from them on a few occasions being located in the Innerwest.

I booked a truck for 2 days, but I finished the job early and returned it after 1 day. He refused to let me pay for the full 2 day hire, only charging me for what I used. The truck itself was great, a 3 tonne pantec which was clean and ran well.
