I went to see Shane Moore a couple of months ago as my young puppy kept on shaking her head so I suspected she had an ear infection. As I entered the 'consultation room' (which was actually a kitchen with an examination table) I asked Shane to try to make it a good experience as it was the puppy's first vet visit. Despite this request he did not greet the puppy at all but just lifted it up onto the consultation table and 'splat' - the puppy's 4 legs went in all different directions as the table was so slippery. He started examining the ears by trying to pull the hair out of the ears. The puppy was crying so loudly that you would have been able to hear her several houses away. This didn't stop the vet, he had 3 more attempts at clearing the hair out of the ears while our 4 months old puppy was crying really loudly and frantically trying to get away. I said to Shane that this was clearly not working and asked him stop and maybe use an otoscope. He did and told me that there was no infection and no foreign body, it was just itchy ears. The treatment was a low dose of cortisone. I got home and the puppy was so miserable that I called another vet and made an appointment for the next morning (12 hrs later). The night was horrible, the puppy wouldn't get out of her crate other than every hour where she would run around the house at full speed while yelping the whole time. The next day I went to the other vet who greeted the puppy and did an ear swab (without the puppy yelping at all) which showed that she had a really bad infection in one ear and a moderate infection together with a yeast infection in the other ear. She received appropriate treatment and improved quickly. I called the clinic back and left a message for Shane to let him know that the puppy did in fact have a bad ear infection. I never heard back.

He wrongly diagnosed my cat with an enlarged kidney and didn’t do any tests nor did he offer, no medications were given. I had to rush my cat to emergency and found out it was cancer not kidney problems. He had to be euthanised last night because Dr Shane Moore was Absolutely shocking at his job and didn’t do a proper checkup for my cat when I went. I am truly heartbroken and disappointed in this vet. Shouldn’t be doing what he’s doing if he can’t even diagnose properly.

Dreadful. Waiting 35 minutes. He was so rough and not caring. My dog was terrified and he just dragged him around on table put a muzzle on told me to hold tighter. He cut nails and made them bleed. Never again.This was the older man and at 6.30 so he probably wanted to go home. Louie couldnt out his foot down and he just gave 2 lots if tablets. Should looked more throughly. Terrible. I came out shaking.

I have been taking our pets to both Dr Moore's for many years and have also recommended many family and friends - who have all been equally impressed and happy with the service. They were also recommended to me, as I had been unhappy with other local services. Their advice has always been considered and in the best interest of our pets - ensuring they are given the highest quality care.

I’ve been taking my dogs for the last 12 years to both Dr Moore’s and they are the best. Knowledgeable, practical and they both genuinely like and care about the animals. When I had to have my old Lab put down Dr Shane was unbelievably kind to me and my kids. I think he may have even had a tear in his eye too. My old Lab died a happy, much-loved doggo. Highly recommend these vets.

This father son practice is a rare gem, where the health and happiness of your animal comes before profit. I am a registered nurse so it’s not easy to pull the wool over my eyes. They are the real deal. Great at explaining the options and can be totally trusted not to over service you while still providing a great service. Very reasonable prices too. Highly recommend

Both the vets are very caring and give practical advice. I've been very happy with the care my dogs have received since becoming clients over 12 months ago. I've always been seen very quickly with any issues the dogs have had. Would highly recommend this practice. I really believe my dogs health is in the best hands.

Shane and Gerard Moore are the best of the best. Their knowledge in Veterinary science and compassion is unparalleled. I've been taking my various Fur Babies to them for more than 20 years, and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Of course, that's if I didn't move interstate, which I have no intention.

Absolutely fantastic experience taking our two dogs here. Gerard and Shane are the best vets in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne in our opinion. Very caring, knowledgeable and honest communicators when you value it most. Thank you guys we won't be taking our pets anywhere else.

Gerard and Shane literally saved the life of our 10yo old vizsla Manuka. Acting quickly after seeing she had an internal bleeding and performing an emergency surgery on Saturday morning to remove spleen tumor saved our girl. We will be forever grateful ❤️

These vets are wonderful and take a great deal of time explaining what is wrong with my pets. The younger vet stood with me for 3/4 hour when my 12 yr old rabbits were put down. Not only very caring but I would say at least half the price of other vets.

They're there for the animals not the pay cheque. You won't find them pushing product onto you here. Our little cavoodle has required operations on her knees ...highly skilled very caring and capable vets... Thanks for looking after pups! …

So far have looked after our cat and two dogs, excellent service, straight forward advice, they tell it like it is. They don't over service, they don't need to because have such a huge number of loyal customers. They couldn't be any better

Attentive and experienced and explained what was going on with our dog. Nice waiting room with pets pic on a slide presentation. Very pretty well maintained small garden out front with lovely roses. Good parking on side street.

Best Vet. We used to visit them when we were in the SE Suburbs, we are now in the Western Suburbs, we are still happy to travel to see Dr Moore. They actually care about the dogs and are always providing helpful advice.
