Service is comically poor, which is unfortunate as I've made many purchases and had plenty of services done there. I will not buy from or get service done here again. I reached out to the shop about a warranty claim on my Fox rear shock near the end of March, they responded promptly and told me to bring it in and Fox should turn it around in 1-2 weeks. So far so good. Around the 2 week mark I reached out to see if there was any word on my shock from Fox, the lad on the phone "looked into it" and confirmed that my shock was still with Fox. I repeated these check ins for the next 3 weeks, all to the same response - "looked into it, and it's still at Fox". At 5 weeks I was getting more than fed up, after calling Dunbar I decided to reach out to Fox directly to rattle someone's cage and get my shock back. I sent an e-mail and got a very quick response - there was no record of my shock on Fox's end, they had never received it from Dunbar cycles . I quickly communicated this to Dunbar to see exactly what was up. Shortly after I received a call from Dunbar explaining to me that they had found my shock, turns out it never was sent to Fox in the first place, just sat in the shop for 5 weeks. They promised to send it out immediately and offered up a loaner shock in the meantime - a loaner shock that was on someone else's bike and wasn't actually available for me at the time. When the loaner shock did come in and I went to pick it up, it didn't have the mounting hardware for me to use it - my eyelet spacers were attached to my shock being warrantied - so, useless. Fox did actually turn it around in 1.5 weeks after Dunbar sent it to them. When I went in to pick up my shock the warranty guy told me I didn't owe anything - thanks, that's how warranty claims work - and asked if we were "all good". I told him no, that I had a major issue with being lied to when I called in to follow up on my service, to which he said "I'll put that in the comments box" and slunk away... From that I gather that the floor staff are so apathetic about the service they provide that it's pointless to even try to point out their shortfalls, it just doesn't register. ALSO, while this was all going on I found that my fork that was serviced by Dunbar in January never had the air spring foot bolt reinstalled. I asked them for a replacement and they told me they didn't have any but could order me one in. At the time I was more concerned with them sorting out my warranty claim and didn't want to overburden their obvious lack of resources to get this issue sorted, so I got a replacement foot bolt through Fluid Function in Squamish... A replacement for a suspension part (fairly important one at that) that was lost or misplaced by the shop when they were servicing my suspension. Baffled, bamboozled, flabbergasted... The way I see it, Dunbar owes me: - An apology - 5 weeks of riding time - Roughly $6 in gas for my back and forth for the replacement shock that didn't work - $21.53 for the replacement foot bolt and shipping from Fluid Function

Much like the person below me, Isabelle, I also had an aggravating week dealing with Dunbar Cycles, only to be told that my attitude is childish and uncalled for. I guess as a customer I’m not allowed to be upset when the business acumen of this shop is nothing short of poor. Great customer service. (that’s sarcasm) I had applied for financing on a bike through a company called Financeit. Great company, excellent customer service, highly recommended. All the paperwork went through, and Dunbar Cycles needed me to come show ID to complete the paperwork. Fair enough. I went and did that. However, The day before I had selected a bike and some pedals as a package over the phone, and the bike shop employee said he would put them aside with my name and a quote attached to it to have it ready when I come in to show ID. I came in and nothing was put aside. In fact no one had any recollection of the bike/pedals and quote being inquired about, or even speaking to me about it. Again I picked pedals and showed my ID and asked for the bike to be put aside, and left as I was told the funding hadn’t come through yet. The financing company sent me an email stating I was approved 2 hours later, the loan had been signed for electronically by myself, and that Dunbar had been funded for the bike. I was in the area. I called Dunbar back and they said I had to come in again on another day, and sign 8-10 pages of documents to finalize the loan, but I still wouldn’t be able to take the bike home. I informed them it was finalized, and they said it wasn’t. That’s where the communication stopped. I had enough and asked them to cancel everything via email after not answering my phone calls for 2 days, unacceptable. I was told via email that I pretty much didn’t know how loans worked and there was pertinent documentation to be signed, again. A few days went by and 3 emails exchanged, and magically I am told, oh there was miscommunication between day and weekend staff, but that I am being childish for being upset and cynical after being told how a loan works as a 36 year old man. This is a 6 day timeline to get their sh*t together. I bought elsewhere. I don’t recommend them. They lost a customer and by the latest reviews, it’s not trending well for them. Would love a good laugh if this gets a response from Dunbar Cycles. It would be the first time they’ve reached out of their own volition. Part of the email from Dunbar copy and pasted: “...In future, we shall try to communicate more effectively between our week and weekend staff and show them how to check this kind of thing themselves as we do have a number of new staff members. I must say though, despite a minor lapse in our internal communications, this would have been an easy thing to get sorted with a bit of clarity on both ends, and the sarcasm and attitude are childish and unnecessary.”

I like a lot of the staff, and the suspension mechanic is awesome... I however, had a terrible service experience. First off, there was a lot of communication gaps, while trying to book service, and in keeping me updated on the service. Also when one of the mechanics was working on my bike, he found some issues with my hub (worn axle, and free hub), he asked me if I wanted it taken care of, said he had the parts (at Corsa), and that it would cost $100.00 The next day another mechanic (really nice, and polite) called me to say that there was a mix up, and the didn't actuality have the parts, but could order them. He also informed me that it would take a week. I said ok, but I would like to be called about the total price, before he actually ordered. I heard nothing back for a few days, so I called in myself. The (short mannered) mechanic I talked to, said they can get the parts, but it would take a week, and that it would be $80+ for each part??? Really, a whole new hub assembly only costs around $80.00... Needless to say, I declined that option and ordered myself a brand new hub. When I had gone in to pick up my bike however, I was still very patient, and understanding. And still booked appointments for my fiancé's bike and for my other bike (I also bought a couple of small ticket items). However, when I got my bike home, after paying for a major tune up, (and a suspension rebuild) I noticed that one of my spokes was so loose It had over an inch of play to it, and my rear wheel had a significant side wobble. I did a quick check of the rest of my spokes, and many of them were still loose... Also my front wheel was out of dish, and was not addressed. I tightened up the spokes a bit. and took it for a cruise. The gears were not indexed very well, and the brakes, still have way to much lever play (with the freestroke totally dialled in too). So, ya... I was not very satisfied with the tuneup service. That's not such a big deal, these things happen, but when I sent a message to them voicing my frustration and disappointment... They completely ignored me. So I have cancelled all my service appointments with them, and as much as I like the fact that they support/produce local races/racers, and as much as the suspension mechanic is awesome, and as much as I would like to support (some of) the staff... I just couldn't bring myself to support a business that ignores a new (cash paying) customer, instead of trying to solve the issue

I wanted to purchase knee pads online as I have recently moved to the Sunshine Coast. Saw the pads were available (both on line and in store) as per their website. Then something came up and had to go into Vancouver so I thought I would pop in to save shipping cost. I called to confirm that the item was there. The guy spoke to on the phone told me that if it shows up as in stock in store on their website then it is. Later that week and before I went down I again checked the status of the item on the website. Showed as in stock in store and online. Once at the store I went to look for the knee pads on the rack but could not find them. It was somewhat busy in the store. I asked a gentleman about the pads. He said they were likely in a box in storage. I asked if he could have a look for me. He made it very clear with his demeanor that it was a hastle and then went to look. He came back later and told me could not find them. I said that it showed up as instock on their website. He told me not to trust the website. I mentioned to him that I had come from the Sunshine Coast to save the 20+ dollars in shipping and if he could have another look. He looked on the computer and said that although it showed up as in stock that it's either on back order or hiding in a box and I was out of luck. He suggested I order online. I was a bit shocked by the fact that he did not try to remedy the problem by offering free shipping or the like. He really seemed more annoyed by my questions than anything. So I left without the pads. Over the years I have purchsed a lot at Dunbar cycle. Going back to the original shop. My wife grew up down the street from the original location on Dunbar. Her entire family has purchsed at least on bike from them. We were always happy with the sevice. Seems that has changed. Bike shops are having a hard time keeping doors open due to losing to online retail. But the one thing that a shop offers that an online retailer doesn't is personal service to build loyalty. It seems that has been lost on Dunbar cylce or maybe they are more focused on their online store. I always try to support local but in this case the local shop didn't really care much for its customer. Rather than purchasing from them I order from Chain Reaction. The pads were $40 less and shipped free. My recommendation is if you are not in a hurry order through Chain Reaction.

Done with Dunbar. I only go to two bike shops, Dunbar and *unnamed-North Vancouver* just to support the LBS. One month ago I purchased two GP5000TL tires + Sealant and did the mounting myself. Side Note: One of the GP5000TL boxes was taped up with Dunbar Packing Tape and when I opened it it was missing the tie strap keep the tire together compared to the "brand new" tire which had all the packaging together. I got the front tire on, no problem. I couldn't get the rear tire on, (Reviews said the GP5000 is a tight fit). Finally got it on but it wouldn't seat correctly, and borrowed a compressor. It finally inflated but the following day it was flat again. Went back to Dunbar the following day to have Service provide some insight. Service said I could have damaged the rim tape. Okay, fair enough. The following day for pickup, I was okay with paying the rim tape + install. Now I also had a bill for a new valve and extra advice from service. Quote "It's still holding air since overnight, but you should keep inflating it every other day". The tire still leaks slowly over a few days. Not sure how they mounted it on but the centre of the tire just doesn't look straight when you spin it compared to the same tire on the front. Last week, I forgot to inflate it per their recommendation and it was flat again. Went back to Dunbar to see if I could get a quick fit. I understand the chaos of Covid. All I wanted to do was get a quick inflate and some sealant put in. Service telling me I have to book into JUL 2020. He was basically there but instead chose to deal with his computer instead. I was willing to leave it for 3 days. Took my tire to other bike shop in North Vancouver, and they told me the tire is warped. They took my box and said they will deal with the distributor and I got a new tire put on at no charge. ***update June 20, 2020*** Still haven’t heard from Dunbar. Even though I’ve given up I’m still willing to send people there. Oddly my friend had some gear indexing issues. He’s never bought a single item from Dunbar but was given service fix on the spot. Service couldn’t get it right the first time and he went back during a busy afternoon and they worked on it some more. Funny how he got service never spending a dime and I’ve spent $$$$ at this store.

Had a very disappointing series of interactions with the staff at Dunbar. My partner purchased a bike there a month and a half ago, and had a great initial customer service experience from the original sales person. Along with the bike, we purchased a set of tires that needed to be ordered in and we were assured it would be 3-5 business days. Two weeks went by and we heard nothing, so we called in and asked about the status of the order and whoever we spoke to said they couldn’t find the order but that they would call us back as soon as they figured out what happened. Another week and a half went by and they didn’t call back so we were forced to call again. We were then told that the order hadn’t ever been placed when we purchased the bike, and they also hadn’t placed the order after we called them to follow up the first time. We got an apology and a promise they would place the order and it would arrive in 3-5 days. Another week and a half later we still hadn’t heard about the order, so we called again and they told us the order had arrived but they just hadn’t called us yet but that we could come and pick up the tires. We arrived to pick them up, and after 10 minutes of confusion the salesperson produced ONE tire when we had clearly asked for two. No others were available in the store. When we tried to explain how frustrated we were with how poorly this had been handled, the salesperson didn’t seem interested in listening and started explaining that parts take a while to be delivered. I was most disappointed in the staff’s unwillingness to listen and respond to how badly the the process had been handled from the beginning. Mistakes happen, but normally stores are interested in hearing about it so they can adjust and improve next time. It’s mostly for that reason that we won’t be going back there for anything else in the future.

Best place ever!! I am new to Mountain Biking (April 2020) and had been at Dunbar 3 time's and every time they helped me get what I needed not sell me stuff like the the most expensive thing's I didn't need and also suggested other stores like Play it again sport's for example where perhaps I could find older but new products cheaper. Another time I was looking at new handle bars and explained why when ( I think it was the manager) asked me (hand pain). I had my bike with me which I bought straight from Kona not even from Dunbar and the manager pretty much gave me a pro fitting and told me what to do and he was sooo right!! It helped a ton without buying a new handle bar Another time I needed some new Chromag pedal pins. They were sold out so an employee went into the service tool box and gave me two small bags of them one for each peddle for FREE!! I had my bike in for shock and fork service and picked it up today. I think they fixed my stupid sticking dropper post because it is working like a charm now? Fork and Shock sure feel nice again!! I am a nobody who is far from financially well off and far from a pro rider. I am so impressed with Dunbar Cycles. I thought store's like this were gone and people just wanted your money as well as sell you anything they could whether it was something you needed or not with any BS story they could think up. People wondered why at first I drove from South Surrey all the way downtown to Dunbar Cycles for MTB products and to have my bike serviced there Thanks so much Dunbar Cycles it means a lot to me!!

We purchased 2 of the Como Turbo 3.0 bikes from Brin in October of 2020. We did not have a lot of opportunity to ride them in the winter, but when the sun came out, so did we. This past weekend, we ventured from our home in Langley to downtown Vancouver. Everything was going well until we got low on battery power. We charged up for an hour at a Starbucks but my wife's bike would not hold a charge. It was now after 5 pm on a Saturday and we were very worried, worried sick actually, thinking, how would we get the bike back to the car. I called Dunbar Cycles, and explained the problem. They said, we close at 6 so get in here as quickly as possible. We finally made it to the store at 5.40. They tried a different charging cable and determined it needed more diagnosis, I overhead the sales rep, Brynn on the phone to their Squamish location saying, I have to help these people, I cant just leave them. She ended up taking the battery off a floor model and putting it on our bike. We were out of the store by 6.10 with a brand new battery, covered under their warranty. We are seniors, so this level of service is very much appreciated. The alternative would have been for me to ride the 20 K or so and come back with the car, leaving my wife sitting at a coffee shop. Brynn saved us from this time consuming task. Thank you to BRYNN for the excellent service. YOU SAVED THE DAY

Great bike shop. I stop by Dunbar every time I fly across to BC to go riding. I'm from London and have bought my last 4 bikes from Dunbar. Their prices smash the competition, and they have the service to back it up. So many times you will buy some high end equipment from a bike shop, and the guy maintaining it, fixing it and rebuilding it when you bring it back to the shop is far from an expert and relies on 2nd hand knowledge off the net to get it working again. Dunbar is different, their suspension center is as good as any of the specialist tuning companies in the UK (and relatively cheaper) and there general level of service is exceptional. All I want, is the best products on my bike and I want them serviced, maintained and rebuilt to the highest standard. Its also very important to have this equipment setup correctly. This is what the guys at Dunbar specialise in. Give Adam a call, tell him what you ride, what you want to ride and what you want from the bike. Once you have a budget outlined and he knows what you want, you won't get a better deal anywhere else. If you're flying over from Europe to go riding in Whistler, stop by Dunbar on the way to the mountain. 10 minutes from the international airport in Van, and the prices and service destroy the bike shops in Whistler. I travel 5000 miles to shop at Dunbar, if you're even more local you have no excuse!

Had an unreal experience at this shop. If I could give negative stars I would. I had my bike scheduled for a full suspension service/rebuild for well over a month, and made a few communications via email with Aziz inbetween to confirm everything was good since I was driving 1300 kms EACH way to get my bike here (no MTB shops in Grande Prairie) Well I show up there the day I had my appointment for them to look at me clueless and say it's impossible to get my suspension serviced since the suspension tech isn't in all week! They also then say that the time frame Aziz set is impossible to complete anyways even if the tech is in and that Aziz is overly optimistic. I couldn't believe how horrible the customer service was here and they offered absolutely zero suggestions, basically good luck with that. I read all the 1 star reviews for similar issues and still trusted them, lesson learned, I'll never set foot in this shop and I'll never refer any friends in the area to go there. Funny thing is I went to their sister shop Corsa cycles, explained how bad Dunbar messed me over and had such a good experience there, both shocks tore down and rebuilt the same day within 6 hours! Suspension feels amazing, Plus wheel bearing replacement and a wheel truing. This shop in Vancouver needs to take lessons from their squamish shop and get themselves together...

I am seriously disappointed in Dunbar Cycles customer service... bought a bike for 1,000 Dollars from them a month ago and was completely rushed out (I get it there busy)... Today I came to upgrade my enduro bike was looking to spend 5-6K... I walked around the shop for about 20 minutes (while 2 employees just talked to each other at the counter). I gave up and asked for help... Told her I need a new enduro bike.. Her answer: We don't have any large sized bikes in stock. Like really?!?!?! I pursued further and asked how long it would take to order a Santa Cruz Bronson... simple answer: I don't know a while... at that point it was clear I was at the wrong place and just wasting my time and apparently her time. I went to another smaller Bike shop in Vancouver where I was there for 3 hours testing 4 different bikes and bought a Rocky Mountain Slayer C50.. I am not sure why I got treated so poorly. I guess they thought I was just there to waste there time. But I will NEVER be going back that is for sure. Just avoid the place there are a ton of better shops in Vancouver which will actually help you make the right choice.

Well, this is the first bad review I have ever left in my life. I've left a few messages on their answering machine to no avail. Last year, I bought a brand new bike and full set of equipment from Dunbar. About 5 months ago, I ordered an extra set of handlebar brakes for my bike. I was told I'd get a call when it was in (10 days max they said it would take). I checked in a month later and they told me that it was on its way and I would get a call soon. Then nothing. Waited another month and called- this time they couldn't even find my name in the system asking for exact part number I had ordered, etc. At that point they apologized profusely and I placed my order again. I was told it was going to be another 2 weeks max. Then nothing. Called again after a month- guy on the phone could not find my order but said that he would get to the bottom of it, make it a priority and call me back in next few days. Yes! you guessed it! It has been almost 2 months and they never called me back. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I very much regret buying a bike there.

Disappointing experience at Dunbar. Ordered bike clothing and accessories on Oct 10. On Oct 14th they emailed and said they actually didn’t have the water bottle I ordered. No problem, gave me a refund right away. They also said one item in my order was up in Squamish at Corsa. Would I like my items shipped together or separately? I said together is fine. Great, expect a tracking number soon. Two weeks later and still no tracking number, I emailed them and they said my item is still in Squamish. Hm ok. Same offer, would I like it shipped separately or together. I said together is still fine. Great, you’ll get a tracking number shortly. November 10th and still no tracking number, I called them and what do you know. Your item is still in Squamish. Literally, nothing has happened since I placed my order a full month ago. They could not offer an explanation as to why. At this point I just asked for a full refund. There are shops all over that will provide a better service (or any service for that matter). Dunbar needs to take a look at their processes.

Do not recommend. I brought my road bike in for a bike fit and service. During the bike fit they adjusted the saddle and changed the stem. Also the chain was making some noise and I mentioned it to the technician twice before I left. After I picked up the bike, I was surprised they didn't check the tires, the front one was still flat. I took it out for a ride later and the new stem they installed wasn't tightened properly and the handlebars came loose during a hill and I took a pretty nasty fall. In addition, the chain issue was worse than when I brought it in. I'm not sure how any of this passed their "safety check". I returned the next day, they didn't seem to care really or take any fault. They put the old stem back on, tried to fix the chain issue, said the sound was gone but it's definitely still there. Overall a pretty terrible experience, I took a pretty nasty fall because of their negligence and spent over $200, yet nothing has been fixed and I need to go to another bike shop. There are definitely better places to go

I have had nothing but kind, courteous, and professional service experiences from the staff at Dunbar Cycles. This is the best local Vancouver bike shop that I've been to who carries an incredible inventory of mountain bike, road biking, and E-bike kit that amazes every time I walk in the door. They stock affordable gear that the staff believe in selling and supporting to top of the range pro-grade bikes and gear - it's like a grown up Disneyland in there most of the time. I recently purchased an enduro bike from Dunbar, dealing mainly with their online support staff and can say nothing but positive things about them. From the polite and caring nature of the sales team to the expedited and accommodating nature of the mechanics who had to squeeze in a few jobs, even when being maniacally busy. And yet, all went like clockwork in the extremely tight timeframe I gave them to work with. If you're looking for the best bike shop in Vancouver and the lower mainland, you've found it. Do yourself a favour and shop here!

I am from out of town and went to Dunbar Cycle because they are a Specialized Dealer. Ordered A specific set of Specialized Elite tires, paid the order in full as requested and told it would take 7 days to arrive. After 2 weeks with no notice, I contacted them. After talking with the sales associate of my order, he said he would call me back. Again, no return call. I went down personally to see where my order was and was told the order had been misplaced. No apology but only a refund. Since I was from out of town I could not wait another 2 weeks for a re-order and honestly didn't trust it would be done any more competently the second time. I was promptly ignored after the refund was given and not given an alternative choice. Very poor customer service. When straight to Comor Bikes and had a totally different experience. Got the tires I needed and a much better customer experience.

Dunbar is hands down the best shop in Vancouver. They are always very friendly, professional and take the time to inform you of what they did and what your bike needs. They are all riders and treat your bike like their own. I just had both my Banshee Legend and Specialized P-Slope serviced and a fork swap on my Banshee. They were , as always, very helpful and even helped me set my Fox 40s to the right psi and settings for my weight and bike. These guys are the only people that touch my bike. I ride some big gnarly trails, and I am a big guy at over 200lbs, so I need to trust that my bike is always at 100% top riding condition, and these guys make sure it always is. If you love to ride and want to make sure your bike is always cared for in the best way, bring it to Dunbar Cycles. Their isn't another shop like it.

I just bought an Opus Opus Orpheo bike from Dunbar Cycle and I love it! Wow, this is a great store and I'm really glad I decided to check it out. I've always known of it but hadn't ever taken a proper look. The staff member I dealt with was Brydon. Super nice guy, very friendly and helpful, highly knowledgeable and zero pressure which I really appreciated. He was fantastic and I feel very fortunate to have dealt with him. I also had a couple of good chats with the blond guy with the pierced lower lip (sorry, don't know your name). He was also really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There's an older bald gentleman who was also really nice to deal with. This was an excellent decision all around. A nice shop with great products and awesome staff! Dunbar Cycles has a great vibe and lots of soul. Thanks guys!

  • Tanner Brine

Echoing the last couple experiences. Dunbar Cycles has probably the worst customer service of any bike shop I've visited in Vancouver. Walking in the door, I consistently find several staff members chatting at the check out and many customers wandering confused through the store, with no effort made to help them. Trying to ask a question you feel as though you're inconveniencing the staff, as soon as they give you a short reply they rush back to hang out with other staff rather than providing follow up. The website of Dunbar has at best a passing resemblance to the stock contained in the store, and when you point this out to the staff they will just make glib remarks about "not believing everything you see on the internet". Can't see myself ever visiting this shop again.

  • John Lavery

I've had several excellent interactions with Dunbar Cycles recently in both their service department and their sales team. While I don't usually do reviews, I felt it was worthwhile. The service team went above and beyond to help me with a sheared crank -sourcing one personally and finding time to get me back on the road. Juan was FANTASTIC with me and my boys - helping me and my kids find the right full face helmets and protective gear to keep them safe on the trails, at a great price. Finally - Aziz was able to quickly do a full service on my shocks, and identified where they were wearing and how much life was left in them. All in all they've earned my repeat business, and I would not hesitate to recommend them when you need either gear or service. Thanks guys!

Thankful that Dunbar is one of the few carrying proper mountain bikes and parts in the downtown area. Service is a real hit or miss though. For commuter parts I'll avoid this place but for mtb unfortunately no one else has the inventory like here. Today I felt compelled to leave a review after years of being a customer. I was told to come pick up my bike today, to find out that the service is not actually done when I come to pick it up (there goes 45min of my life commuting to and from the shop). On top of that, there were 4 of us waiting to talk to someone in service. Only one guy was helping customers, while three staff members were drinking a beer in the service area. At least wait till closing time and not in front of customers who are waiting to be helped...

Great experience here! Just bought some new cycling shoes and clipless pedals. I went to Dunbar Cycles first and then shopped around. I couldn't find better staff and their prices were on point. Easily good enough to return on the same day and have the pedals installed. Quick check for foot positioning and they installed the new pedals and shoe cleats. I'm pretty new to cycling and it was nice to have knowledgeable staff that were super easy going and didn't pressure me or pre-judge. I didn't get the name of the guy that installed the pedals but he was really helpful and even provided some route suggestions for my cycling needs. All in all, I couldn't have asked for more and I just wish more shops were like this!

  • Edwin Rowan

A really great bike shop. Dunbar has been around for quite time and there is good reason for that. Staff are super friendly and helpful, always willing to go above and beyond. They treat you the same whether you're an experienced cyclist a or someone new to the sport. A trait that is seriously lacking in some other places. I've had occasions where I've been in a jam requiring a quick fix and they have gone out of there way to accommodate me I've had a couple of wheels built by them and they have been far superior to others I've had built by some other bike shops. Same for other work I've had done. They also have regular sales and you can often get great bargains on good gear. Can't recommend them enough.

This is the most hit or miss store I've ever shopped at. I like to support local companies so I've been back several times for service and parts/gear. Sometimes it's great sometimes it's like pulling teeth trying to get service. Most recently had a wheel repaired. was supposed to be same day service which is rare so I was stoked, came back to pick it up at the end of the day and wasn't done. No big deal, came back the next day and picked it up. Wasn't very straight for being freshly trued. I ended up having to take it to another shop a week later to get it trued again. Would be nice to have reliable service but half the time employees are too busy talking with each other to help customers.

  • Gordon Sjodin

Not welcoming poor social distancing rules in place. Prices are very high . Big sale sign outside with nothing on sale inside. After waiting in line for 30 minutes and finally getting to the front there was a fellow standing by the door but he said nothing so it was really hard to tell what I was supposed to do or when I was supposed to go into the store. I felt like they just wanted me out of the store once I was inside. I understand there was stress around social distancing but after waiting in line so long it would have been nice to at least feel welcome. I was told there were no hardtail bikes suitable for me. I found this disappointing as a response after waiting so long in line.

  • Greg Martin

Very poor experience. Purchased a bike online in June and was told the order was delayed a week later. Followed up several times (email and phone) over the next 5 weeks with no response. At the end of July I emailed requesting a refund and Dunbar staff called me within 10 minutes advising that my bike had just arrived. When I picked up the bike they sent me away with a punctured rear inner tube (even though the tire was flat in-store - just pumped it up and said it was fine) and offered no help in even adjusting the seat height so I could comfortably ride the bike out. I now have to take the bike elsewhere and spend more money to ensure that Dunbar actually built the bike correctly.

  • Good Guy Biker

This is hands down the ONLY shop I would bring my bikes to in Lower Mainland, staff is knowledgeable kind informed and experts at the bike game. As one of the oldest bike shops around there is a great reason for it. Guys like Alex and Paul always go FAR above and behond for my bikes and some how seem to charge me 1/5th of the other shops rates. Something normally costing 120 cost me 19$ at Dunbar. Don't hesitate, don't wait, take your bike in and you'll be as happy as I am every time I visit. They are keeping staffing high and maintained during covid19 to help make sure we can all get out on those bikes. Good enough for my $10k bikes and inexpensive enough for my $100 bikes too!

  • Ryan Stade

Ordered ex-Demo bike online. They took money then informed me it had to be ‘put together’ before it could be delivered, and that would take 2 weeks. Actually took 4 weeks but arrived bent, broken and poorly assembled. I was told that they were really busy, but that was totally unacceptable and would rectify ASAP. Another 2 weeks and still no idea what is happening or when parts will be replaced. Reading other reviews and I see they are getting a lot of 1 star reviews. Not surprised, this has been going on for years. Wonder if I post enough 1star reviews, will business slow down enough they might answer phone and finish some of these orders? Very frustrating, and not recommended.

  • Heather Baroody

Dunbar is the best bike shop around hands down. It’s becoming increasingly easier to just order bike parts online due the the stock and incompetence of bike shops. Luckily we still have Dunbar! where they (specifically Brynn the manager) order the right part in a reasonable time and are very knowledgeable, honest, and realistic when it comes to bikes. They will make sure you aren’t walking away with the wrong/incompatible product so you’re not making twelve different trips. Getting the an automated text when your parts are in is also awesome. It’s great seeing a bike shop stay core but also embrace the future. Cheers to still being able to support my local bike shop!

  • Kevin Keresztes

This is my third consecutive bad experience at Dunbar with unfriendly staff. I came in today to pick up some seal kits for my fork and shock and was under the impression I only needed to know my fork and shock model. I met with the suspension guy to get the products and was told to next time to come in with the correct parts numbers from Fox's website. I then asked where on the website all that information is and he walked away and said he was "too busy". I've been riding bikes for 20+ years and have dealt with many shops, and this shop continually has the worst customer experience out of any. Thanks Dunbro Cycles, I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on.

  • Nick B

They've come a long way! Great service under the new service manager, Alex, and the sales experience has improved as well. Online inventory could still use some work (was looking for parts that I couldn't find online but was able to get them in store), but for a genuine "local bike shop experience they're still the go-to for me. Case in point: Went to another shop down the street which sold me an incorrect part thanks to having no interest in my questions. Took the part to Dunbar and was told straight away it was the wrong part and was directed to the right one. The current crew knows what they're doing. Much appreciated and glad to be a customer.

  • Harrison Redpath

Thought I ordered a helmet in person through the store two weeks ago for a trip this weekend. The lady who helped me in-store was wonderful and told me they could get the helmet I wanted in a week or so. After having to call through the service line twice (did not recieve a call back when I was promised they would follow up) was finally able to talk to someone. First was told they had no record of my order and finally when I asked to escalate to the manager was told they just placed the order today. Did not seem to care about my business or the fact that they did not follow through on their promise, will not be doing business with them again.

  • Emily St. Claire

Called the day before a birthday to purchase a gift card and was told I could not purchase one over the phone. I was told the only way to buy a gift card was to come in store. I called the next day and was told by someone else I could etransfer them for a gift card. The gift card recipient came to pick up the gift card that day and shop but it was not ready and could not be processed for him to use that day. They said that it would be ready that day. Otherwise, great store that I have bought gifts from before. I would just suggest making gift cards easy to process for staff.. being able to manually take card numbers over the phone etc.

  • Brock

I ordered a dropper post and they told me it would take a couple days to arrive. After a week of hearing nothing I call them back and they say it will take a month. A month later I called them and they say it will be another month, so I cancel the order, but get a call 5 days later saying it arrived. I happily picked it up, asked if I needed to buy any cables or anything else to be able to install it, the employee said no, but that was not correct; there was nothing in the box but the post and an owner's guide. Gave 2 stars cause they have a good selection and some of the employees are helpful.

  • Beth Tanton

Exceptional walk-in service Yesterday I brought in a tire for assessment; as predominantly a road cyclist I have felt somewhat a stranger at Dunbar. A new tire was deemed necessary and the technician discussed various options with tire and tube. He was happy to install and would need 5 minutes to do. I was astounded at this service as I had taken it to another high end roadie store earlier who also said I needed a new tire but would have to go home to book an appointment online. And no they didn't have any standard 26" tires. In future I will be going to Dunbar first for any technical issues.

  • Team Carels

Thankful to have a shop that has staff brave enough to work retail during the pandemic. From service to sales everyone appeared to be working their tails off. I had a technical question that required some explaining, thankfully the sales guy worked with the service team to get me an answer. But during this time there was a customer demanding instant service and tried to butt in line ahead of me. Unbelievable the sense of entitlement and lack of patience some people have. I felt bad for the staff, they really went beyond to assist me. Thankful to have a shop in Vancouver that know their stuff.

  • Anna B

A special ordered was placed for a helmet, it wasn’t available in store. I was given 1-2 weeks to get it. I paid in full at that time. I checked in at the 1 week mark and was told it’s on its way. At the 2 week mark I checked in again because I hadn’t heard from them, I was told it had only been ordered the day prior. Now I have to wait an additional 2 weeks. I’m still waiting for it. No acknowledgment or empathy from Dunbar that it’s an obvious mistake on their part. Definitely not an acceptable service standard. Beware and keep this in mind when doing business with Dunbar Cycles.

  • David Orchard

Dunbar cycles has been our goto MTB shop for years, but today Sean went above and beyond. I crashed a couple times and needed some brake adjustments. Sean got me and he did service same day I called. He pointed out the need for new back brake pads and installed them. Tightened my disc rotor lock & told me what wrench they use so I can order it. Suggested adjusting brake levers a bit further up to push my elbows/shoulders down a little bit, then did it. Voluntarily adjusted front and back shock pressure and tried them out with me. Total labour cost? $10. I'm blown away.

  • A C

My experience with this store has never been good. Like others have mentioned, I often have to wait around 20-30 minute to even get acknowledged. Staffs were talking to each other, walking around, helping new customers, while I stood by the road shoes section with my girlfriend, completely ignored. When I asked if they had any more sizes of the Specialized road shoes line up, a staff just brushed me off with a "sorry we don't have any more sizes. Bicicletta might have it.", and then he just walked off. No recommendations, no further assistance, no follow ups, nothing.

  • Alexander Jordache

Dunbar is my go-to shop in Vancouver for service work. Their mechanics (shoutout Sean!) are extremely knowledgable and willing to take in drops in which is not easy to find in a city where most shops book weeks out in advance. They also have a great selection of boutique parts that you might not expect to find at most shops. Highly recommend getting your mtb serviced here, they'll teach you a thing or two behind the shop counter if you ask, which is invaluable! Go see for yourself! (All of the mechanics are great but ask for Sean and you'll be in great hands)

  • Etienne Garceau

Best bike shop and customer service experience I've had. I wrote to them asking about buying new wheels and installing them on my bike. Within a few minutes I got a reply, which is pretty unusual. After they realized the wheelset I was looking for was out of stock, they suggested a different pair which were listed higher than a different shop. I asked if they could match the price and they did! All of that in real quick reply through email still. Also very fast turn around time (same day) to pick them up in store (installed with new tires on). Very pleased!

  • Callum Hamilton

The customer service was not what you would expect when spending your time and money on such a significant purchase (bike). I've been back to the store a few times now and the staff members that I dealt with were disinterested and unhelpful, unless really pushed for information. My partner and I made it quite clear that we were there to BUY, which you would think would motivate them. After our experiences here, we did not want to buy from them, but it was the only store that had what we wanted (short supply due to covid demand). I will not shop here again.

  • Daniel Hurd

I purchased a helmet for wife here with help from a staff member. The helmet didn’t suit her and never left the box. I went in the store to switch and was informed that helmets were final sale. This was never mentioned during the original purchase, but it was in fine print on the email receipt that got sent. I have had a few other bad experiences with Dunbar Cycles I’m done with them. They have turned into a large company with bad customer service and lost their community connection they once had. I recommend looking elsewhere for all your bike needs.

  • Ryan McArthur

Great experience with the service center. Due to the craziness trying to get some work done on a bike during Covid-19, I'd taken it upon myself and my Allen keys to see if I could manage installing my new brakes and tuning the gears. I thought some further adjustment might be needed after the work of my amateur hands but that was not the case. They were open and honest about it upfront. The service center looked things over upon arrival and educated me on some of the nuances with new hydraulic brakes and 1x11 drivetrains. Would happily return!

  • Kurt Johnston

I came in with a frustrating issue regarding my cross bike and hub skewer. I couldn't properly mount a bracket for a very common trailer, and had already spent an hour online, thoroughly confused and about to spend $80+ and wait a wk or so for delivery on a solution that may not have worked. I went to Dunbar, and 10 minutes later I had left with a $15 solution that works perfectly. All the gang were really helpful and attentive. Proof, once again, that we should all shop local! I will be getting all my bike stuff done at Dunbar from now on.

  • Sean Lulgjuraj

Hands down one of the best bike shops I've ever been to! These guys are always so helpful whenever something wears out or breaks on my bike which is quite often! The service department always seems to have a solution even with this current bike/parts shortage going on at the moment I always seem to get back on the bike extremely quick. I always bought second hand bikes, and I recently purchased a SC megatower from Dunbar this summer and was the best decision I could have made, I know both companies have my back if anything goes wrong!

  • Geoff Cross

I literally never post reviews, but after another terrific experience with Alex and the service shop at Dunbar Cycles, I felt it was the least I could do. Having ridden mtn bikes for over three decades (gulp) in numerous towns, cities, province, states and countries, Alex and the team are the best I have encountered. They are super knowledgable but without attitude. They are dependable, transparent, fair and reliable. They suggest solutions and option that are in my best interest and they deliver the goods. Super Pro. Thanks!

  • Flora Ferraro

Their service is terrible - I ordered a wahoo trainer in October 2020 was told it would arrive in Dec 2020, then told it would arrive in March 2021 now we are at the end of April and still no trainer. The sad thing about their service is that I the customer is the one contacting them about this product that I purchased back in October. Not once have they let me know about the status of this product. They are great at taking your money but piss poor on customer service. I will never purchase another item from Dunbar.

  • John McFarlane

This is a great bike shop! I needed a whole bunch parts and bike accessories but am no expert. If you want to know what an expert thinks, ask for Giles: he's very experienced and helpful and told me exactly what I didn't know I should be looking for (in the friendliest way), quickly found everything I was looking for and gave useful advice about what works best. Moreover, he's worked extensively as a mountain bike guide and is a great contact if you're looking for a new high-performance bike. Check it out!

  • Matt S

Julian and the Dunbar Bikes staff have gone above and beyond for me on numerous occasions. Whether ordering in hard-to-find parts or advising on an equipment purchase or upgrade, their professionalism and passion for what they do and are exceptional. Though Dunbat’s roots are on the MTB side, their new road shop is deserving of a visit - they have an abundance of incredibly road and gravel machines that span from entry-level rigs to right into dream machine territory. Long live the local bike shop!

  • Heather Dunmore

Came here today because I was having an issue with my tire valve and Sean who I spoke to was so helpful! Not only did he show me how to fix the problem on my own but he gave me a small tool as well so that I could next time it happens. I sometimes feel intimidated going into bike shops because I’m still learning how to maintain and fix things on my own so it was really nice to have someone be so kind and approachable about it. Really appreciated, I’ll come back here anytime I need something done!

  • Karoline Rzyski

I was shopping around for a road bike and was helped by Julian at Dunbar Cycles - he was incredibly thorough , patient and knowledgeable when helping me make a decision for which bike best suited my needs. He also was knowledgeable about bikes that I was looking at that were not in stock at Dunbar and helped me with making comparisons, as well as sharing resources that he felt I could utilize. I really appreciated the information and guidance with my decision-making process and purchase.

  • Ryan Sweeney

I purchase the Specialized Diverge E5 from Dunbar Cycles today. The sales associate (Julius?) was very knowledgeable and friendly and at no time did I feel like I was not being provided with enough information to make an informed decision on what bike was best for the type of use I was looking to get out of it. I have the utmost confidence that their selection and knowledgeable staff would be able to help out anyone from a beginner to advance in whatever type of ride you are looking for.

  • Joe Zhang

Recently purchased a Specialized Power Expert Saddle from Dunbar Cycles to replace my Fi'zi:k Antares R5 Saddle. I couldn't be happier! Not only did I get an amazing deal with a significant discount, but the shipping was also incredibly fast. The saddle itself is top-notch, exactly what I'd expect from Specialized - comfortable, durable, and well-designed. 5% tax only for shipping to Quebec. Highly recommend this store for anyone looking for quality cycling gear at great prices!

  • Will S

Dunbar Cycles is without the doubt the epitome of a great bike shop. The balance between having the latest high end products and their ability to get hold of anything is unsurpassed. Combine this with a clinical attention to detail in the workshop and you have a world class bike shop. Dunbar’s awesome reputation makes donning one of their badass T-shirts a pleasure. I’d like to congratulate all guys for putting together a great business and wish you every success for the future.

  • Alexander Binks

Went in with my heart set on a specific wheel set. After speaking to Julian, he directed me to another brand and model based on my riding style and ability. I was a little skeptical at first, but he explained all of the differences and patiently answered all of my questions. In the end the decision was mine and I went with Julian's recommendation. I could not be happier! This has been the best purchase I have made for my bike and I could not have done it without Julian's help.

  • Billy Cao

I ordered a helmet and was told that it would take 4-5 business days to come in. Two weeks pass with zero calls updating me of the status of my order. I call them instead and only response was, "It's on it's way. We'll call you when it arrives." It took my helmet 3x longer to arrive than the quoted time with zero status updates. If a shop can't get the process for a simple order correct then I have very little faith in any of their other services. I would not recommend.

  • Piyush Kalra

Shawn was very courteous and a great mechanic. I was looking for a front skewer for my bike but couldn't find it any where. He spent 20 min trying to find the right part but unfortunately was out of stock. Rather than just a sorry he insisted i visited near by shops and also offered to tell me the write description for the exact part type. Highly recommended very friendly people who genuinely care about you personally rather than your money. Keep up the good work guys

  • chrisgride

I initially gave a bad review because of a misunderstanding with the store which caused me an unnecessary trip to their Squamish location.... As of late however, Dunbar Cycles has been a LIFESAVER in helping me build my 3 bikes during a worldwide parts shortage, been shopping here since 2009 (when the location was on Dunbar street) and this place has always been solid. Without them, I wouldn't have been able to build my dream bike.

  • Jerry Lin

Great experience at the store, staffs are knowledgeable and eager to help. Bought a tool in a rush as I wanted to get the job done. But found out that it is sold at a cheaper price at MEC the next day. Went back and asked about their price matching policy, they were more than happy to refund the difference. No fuss. Best thing is that they open 7 days a week! Super convenient if you need any bicycle related stuffs in short notice.

  • Richard Scott

This is where I get all of my new bike stuff. Gear, parts etc.. the prices are good and the staff is great. There was an issue with some old pricing that made things more expensive than they should have been, I spoke with Tony the manager and everything got fixed wonderfully and he was happy that I pointed out the error. Long story short, great selection and honest staff that loves biking, what else coukd you want in a bike shop.

  • Jake Salusbury

Went to the shop because a friend recommended them. I have an older dirt jumper from 2010, and I was looking for advice on how to set up my fork. They basically told me that my fork is no good, and to buy a new one. I've been to another shop since, and they were extremely helpful in sourcing seals and springs, even for an older fork. I would not recommend Dunbar if you are looking for information or service on older bike parts.

  • David Soto

I sent my bike to Dunbar Cycles for my fork maintenance, adjustments and various repairs. Thank to all the mechanics for their magnificent work, professionalism and kindness! Special thanks to Alex, thanks to you my bike feels better than ever! I recommend Dunbar 100% for its great variety and quality of material and brands, full of hardworking cycling lovers who will help you and recommend you with anything you need. :D

  • Jason Read

This shop recently moved toy neighborhood but I have been shopping with them for years. The fact that they are now my local bike shop makese very happy! I've always gotten great advice a support from both the sales staff and the mechanics (extra big shout out to Sean who goes out of his way to provide amazing service). They have a good selection of gear and bikes, have sales pretty regularly and know their stuff.

  • Tamiko Hinze

My Husband, myself and daughter went in to get new bike helmets. It was worth the drive. The customer service was incredible. I wish I had the name of the man helping us. He took his time and educated us. He made sure we tried on helmets, and worked with us until we found the proper fit. He went above and beyond our expectations. I can ride a bit easier knowing that he took the care to help protect my family.

  • Joker M

4 juumon points ~ We have quite the Biking community here in Vancouver, so knowing a good bike shop is very useful information ! Dunbar circles has a large inventory of mountain bikes! I recently purchased a black bike from them and I have no complaints. The staff were really nice and suggested a really comfortable bike to me. so I’m pretty happy with my purchase! Thank you have a good one stay safe

  • pip cheesy

Its Covid time as I write this, and bike shops are as busy as can be. I have talked to other shops who make you feel you are wasting their time asking questions. That was not my experience at Dunbar cycles. The staff there took the time to answer my questions, and were extremely accommodating. I found the prices to be very competitive too. I recommend Dunbar Cycles, and I will definitely shop there again.

  • Liam Wadman

Fantastic suspension service - Aziz is a wizard and breathed life into my bike. Customer Service incredibly lacking however, what was supposed to be a one day job turned into 6 days and I had to call and chase for updates every day. I'm very conflicted giving them to the 3 star review. If it was by work alone, easy 5 star, but it's a blemish to have massive delays and not update your customers.

  • Max MacKellar

At first I was hesitant about this shop, as it’s mostly young guys working here. However Shaun in the service department has been incredible — super helpful, takes time to talk through options for you (without being condescending) and genuinely cares about your bike. I’d highly recommend anyone who needs any service to their bike, especially mountain bikes, head here and ask for Shaun. 10/10!

  • Scott Bono

Tony and his team have been fantastic helping us to pick our first bikes. No pushy sells, no fluff or fancy sell arguments, simple and tailored pick for our needs and budget. You know the guys are here for the love of cycling and they truly want you to be happy with what you buy, which is a rare thing nowadays. I'll definitely go back when in need of equipment or knowledge drops.

  • Dale Heffernan

With great prices and super friendly staff there is no need to go anywhere else for all your cycling needs. Bought a rack there, wasn't sure if it would fit, so they offered to install it for me. 10 minutes later not only was my new rack on but they put air on my tires, tightened my handle bars and hubs, and fix a few other things with bike. Thanks guys , you are the best.

  • Brendan Hamman

Bought a bike from Dunbar 6 months ago on a great deal. Was experiencing some weird grinding issues this week with the crank and they diagnosed it to be the pedal bearings in 5 mins, and had brand new off the floor replacement pedals on the bike in minutes without charging me. Will return to buy bikes and get service in the future. Very happy with my experiences so far.

  • ty za

Dropped shock off on 10th for service. Was told it would be done by 15th at the latest. It is now the 19th and they have yet to touch my shock. Aziz and rest of the shop have had zero contact with me. I called and emails many times and noone was able to give me an eta or reason for delay. Taking my business to fluid function in sqaumish, well worth the drive from van.

  • Lyndsey Merry

Very happy with the speed and quality of service here! After making an appointment via email, I received prompt and efficient service dropping off my bike for a fender and rack installation. They let me know my bike was ready a few hours later and everything looked great! After struggling to install things myself for several months, I wish I had just come here first!

  • Evelyn pk

I went in for some five ten mountain bike shoes, and received awesome service! I have a hard time finding adult shoes in my size and the employee helping me made sure I found what I was looking for between the kids and adults sizes. They were recommended by a friend who recently bought a new stumpjumper who also had a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

  • Charlotte Kapitza

Very helpful and friendly service - has to visit the shop twice in one day. The first was a planned stop to get my factory set pedals loosened so I could swap out once home, and the second was when a screw from my cleat came loose and got lost mid ride. Thomas in the service shop saved the day and helped us out twice with no charge. Will be coming back! Thank you

  • Sean O'Neill

Walked in to see as a Lezyne dealer if they had a spare part for a light I own. Guy was ridiculously helpful, ended up getting a brand new light because of the Lezyne warranty. People like that make you want to come back and shop in that store, I don't know why other stores miss this key point. Dunbar Cycles is an excellent resource and we're lucky to have them.

  • Vince C

I just needed to grab some parts and dropped in about an hour before closing on a Friday. Despite the number of customers already inside, I had surprisingly fast service with a floor staff helping me find the parts I needed and didn't have to wait long for cash to ring me up. Superb service and superb people! Also great job maintaining distancing and air flow!

  • Mathew Marchand

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, happy to walk you through your bike (regardless of whether it was purchased there) the service team do a great job and will walk you through any repairs or maintenance they've done and always give multiple options to fit your price point. Highly recommend them, looking forward to checking out their new shop today!

  • Brendon Purdy

Dunbar's been my go to shop for everything bike related. Spot on knowledge and advice especially with all mountain and downhill bikes and gear, without being pushy. I ride better and smoother in no small part because of their recommendations and gear I've bought there. Great service, great prices, great staff, and they all rip on anything 2 wheeled!

  • Shannon H

Excellent service, above and beyond what I expected. I needed a dropper post replaced, and I had a hand-me-down from a friend. It was missing some components, and the staff hunted down the remainder from other shops. Ended up being quite a bit cheaper than a brand new post! Very helpful and friendly. They looked very busy every time I was there!

  • Pierre Foucart

A tiny screw holding my shifter fell of while doing LOTR. One of the mechanic found a replacement screw after trying countless tiny screws. Went to another shop which didn't had it (or didn't try to hard) and last time I had a similar problem at Giant they made me pay $6 for a screw... I'll be going straight to Dunbar now if I need a quick fix.

  • Shi Pas

Great experience! Staff was very knowledgeable! We were helped by a staff member named Jessie. He was very professional and informative and had a lot of patience with us while we tried things out. He also gave us a lot of great recommendations! Store selection slightly limited due to pandemic, but can still find everything you need. Thank you!

  • Denis D

Another great experience! Everyone in store is friendly and knowledgeable. Alex and the team did a fantastic job servicing the bike, explaining everything and suggesting options. Kept me in the loop of the progress, which I really appreciated. The quality of work and customer service is why I will come back again, definitely give them a try!

  • Mike Little

5 stars to the staff at Dunbar. Pierre and all the guys in both the service and sales department really hooked me up to fix some fender issues. One of the few remaining bike shops in Vancouver where the staff all love bikes and will do their very best to help you in a pinch and get you back on the road. Love the new location overall!

  • Karlos Ahuatzin

Hands down the best bike shop on the lower mainland, I do visit lots of stores on Vancouver, but whenever I need good service or getting out from doubt, Alex and Sean are always there to help me out to get my rig out back to the trails, honestly…. Just a safe choice, great staff to help out, knowledgeable mechanics and great attitude

  • Cole Howard

My partner and I went in looking for a bike for them and literally everyone at the store could not have been nicer and more pleasant to deal with. We ended up getting exactly what we needed/wanted without having to deal with overly an pushy sales team or being overwhelmed by information. Stupendously happy with the experience.

  • Mark Peters

This place rocks. My bike broke down and helped right away. Dunbar cycles is my new get go. . Staff and store well Equipped with all the bike equipment and extra parts; it’s like a kid in a candy store. I can call any time, and the staff is fantastic. Thank you, Dunbar, for the bike service and my new wife bike. You rock

  • Mike Pajak

Unparalleled support when I needed it. I had an Enduro with a crack in the frame. Julian quickly acquired a new frame and swapped all the parts within a day. Considering the current lead times for bike work, this was very impressive. Nice to know this bike shop stands by the products they sell when something goes wrong.

  • Original Flow

Well organized shop with many items in stock. The location is great but major downside is parking, especially at peak times. But the shop and staff are worth the parking hassle. Will be coming back again when I'm in the area for all things cycling. Hit them up and maybe try the online order pickup to speed the stop up.

  • Alex Mounsey

Great service here, believe his name was Pat. New to the road biking world and needed an upgrade for the grand fondo. He set me up with everything I needed and I took my new specialized tarmac sl6 sport for a spin today. An instant 6 KM/HR faster than my previous bike. Good honest opinion, and quick service.

  • STMNT

Overpriced and late to put things on sale. Literally found multiple items on sale from other shops and manufactures websites but full price at this shop. Guess if you need to pick it up today and are willing to pay the premium it would be worth your time but it will definitely not be the first place I shop.

  • Alex Zhu

Am in Toronto and happened to see they have the bike rack I want with discount and free shipping. I placed the order and was told back ordered for the model. The support team was willing to offer me same special deal for the one in stock which is a better model indeed. Very happy with my shopping with them!

  • Jonah Eckert

I like Dunbar Cycles overall (friendly, knowledgeable, decent selection of gear) but they don't seem to answer their phone. So, if you want to check on your bike that is in for service, you have to drive there to speak to someone. I know they are super busy but you have to find a way to answer your phone.

The staff at Dunbar are so amazing. They are very welcoming, always provide great advice and really know what they're talking about. They're also super generous, donating gear to local bike clubs for women in need, and at several provincial races every summer. I recommend them to ALL my friends!

Great bike shop - really competitive pricing that matches or beats online retailers, good selection of gear in-store and online. They rebuilt a rim that I damaged - really quick turnaround time and the pricing on parts and labour was nearly half what other shops in the area would have charged.

I recently went to Dunbar Cycles to replace something on my road bike… i REALLY recommend this shop because (1) worked with their incredibly knowledgeable, communicative, and competent staff (thank you again, Rob!!) (2) was given really great pricing for the work that was performed.

THE best shop in British Columbia. Amazing service and HUGE selection. Where I usually have to special order items I almost always find what I'm looking for at Dunbar Cycles. They always have the newest products the first week they are available. Cannot recommend this place enough.

I found my dreambike on their website (it was not available anywhere else in Canada) and thanksfully they ship outside BC. Although we can track the processing of the order on their website, Leon also sent me emails to keep me informed. What a great and excellent service!

I’ve only had terrific service at this shop. Went in to purchase helmets for my girl and I. They were less expensive than the manufacturer’s website. We were helped by Julian who was patient, informative and friendly. Can’t say enough good things about our experience!
