I have been with them for several years now and I'm sorry to say, that our relationship ended on Monday due to unclear invoices, unprofessionalism, and a complete disregard of sensitive situations. It should also be noted that this was my only problem EVER to be experienced at the clinic, besides from the standard pushiness that comes from up-selling & exaggerated costs. I think it's unnecessary to document every point but I will give you some toplines: 1. Due to the unprofessionalism of the front desk staff* ( except for James -- I think that was his name---- as he was patient, professional, and competent) I was flagged as a person that was no longer valued and therefore my dog and her test results suffered. We were both placed last on the list and disregarded. I had to call several times the following day for my dog's test results--- which were pressing as my dog is having neurological episodes--- and asked to speak with the vet, which was denied. Around 8 PM, Dr. Randall sent results, notes, and a PDF of an Rx ( which cannot be used in that medium) to me via James. * at the unprofessional experience with the front desk I will say I asked the cashier to stop speaking because she would not leave a situation alone-- and I would like to apologize for that. But please know that everyone is fighting their own battle that does not include her. Me holding my credit card out to her and wanting to pay and leave as quickly as humanly possible turned into me attacking her. My dog -- my roommate & best friend whom I bottle fed--had had 12 seizures in the span of 24 hours, yet this was disregarded. The language that was used on the internal document( see #3 for an explanation) was that I was "shoving my credit card in her face". Good news is, I believe there are cameras at the front desk so a quick review of the tapes can prove to any and all employees who are interested that that was an egregious exaggeration on her behalf. 2. The protocol for owners to approve of services is 100% inadequate. Every line item must be explained throughly and officially signed off by the customer. There should be no surprises when we get to the front desk to pay. It should also be flagged for the front desk that just because the vet suggests something does not mean the vet has the right to perform the service. My dog is just that: mine. I was informed by the front desk that the vet will do what the vet thinks with or without consent from the owner, and that is not called veterinary science, that is called a lawsuit. 3. I asked the desk to send me records due to my poor experience with the clinic as I wished ( and still do) to never return. I got a blank email with a pdf of paperwork a day later with the front desk's take on the situation which included the phrase-- "DO NOT CALL OWNER". ( hence why despite the fact that I needed to talk to a vet, I was denied) I wish the team the best of luck and as I can see by some of the other reviews on here, it may be time to evaluate the front desk with professionals, establish a clear sign off invoices, and take a look at pricing. Nepotism ( I'm guessing?) and word of mouth don't seem to be cutting it. Additionally, I would suggest to Dr. Randall to stop being so pushy and listen more. She told me that she had "been doing this a long time" and then told me she was approaching 30. Quick flag: education does not count for professional experience. You in fact have not been doing this a long time and it shows in your naivety, bedside manner, and your dismissal of agency from owners as you consider yourself the only "expert". Turns out, owners know their dogs extremely well and in no way should that be discounted. I now have to find a new vet to look at my poor dog because the medicine Dr. Randall prescribed actual drastically exasperated the situation. So much for that oath you took at vet school? I'm sure you will all be fine as the District of Columbia is rather flushed with cash, egocentric, and transient-- which is the recipe for success for a good business with dismal customer service.
I adore Dupont Vet Clinic, for years I had Babygirl and Leo under their care. In 2020 we experienced many things during Covid. This Clinic was and is always ethically responsible and morally caring with Deep Compassion for the little furry family members we place in their care. We lost Babygirl and Leo years apart but not related to anything Dupont had or had not done. Our furbabies were joined at the furry paws. They started out as friend-a-mies but became close like sister and brother. During their lifetime, Dupont was there. Babygirl once came down with a strange anomaly in her ear, a rare tumor, benign but critical to her continued ability to hear and see. My current Vet. Which is Al-lynn Animal Hospital had back then in 2020, recommended me to a surgical vet way out in Virginia for the delicate surgery. When I got there, the vet (whom shall remain nameless) recommended surgery after 2 x-rays. However the surgery was frightening and I was told she would be disfigured for life and lose her hearing in the left side and lose an eye since he had to cut a certain way. I cried, paid the $500.00 for x-rays done and went home with a heavy heart. Well I was between vets, I always use 2, because of distance, and price, and integrity. No vet is perfect nor do all doctors know everything and it's advisable to always not panic, use wisdom, calm down, pray, listen to God, hear from God and then ACT on what you are told. I am a believer and woman grounded In Christ. I decided to call Dupont, although they too had told me, the type of surgery Babygirl needed, they did not accommodate. Well God told me to call Dupont and ask AGAIN. So I told the rep that answered my call PLEASE ask doctor MAVERICK if he knew anyone, someone who could help my darling Babygirl? My 5 minute on hold felt like eternity. Finally this second call 2 weeks after the first death diagnosis yielded hope. Doc MAVERICK came to the phone. Told me they meaning Dupont Clinic was not equipped to perform the surgery Babygirl needed. HOWEVER, he knew of a traveling specialist on wheels that could be called to travel to Dupont to do the surgery. When I explained to doc MAVERICK that most of my funds had been spent on the vet in Virginia that wanted to turn my Babygirl into Frankenstein and I had not much left. Doc MAVERICK told me he'd do his best to ask the surgeon on wheels to discount the needed surgery, but no promises. I think it took a few days. But finally Dupont called me back, the front desk clerk told me the day I could come to Dupont for the surgery for Babygirl but first visit would be a consultation with the specialist. The Doctor on Wheels not only was compassionate but lowered the cost so Babygirl could get surgery and live. I had gotten my stimulus checks in 2020. I used both and by God's mercy the amount charged, was half of the cost of the total surgery, with $400 left over which was enough to get aftercare by Doctor MAVERICK and the awesome staff of DUPONT CLINIC. I WAS grateful in tears once the on call surgeon met with me on consult to discuss the surgical procedure in details. The on call surgeon was kind, highly professional, ethically responsible and deep love and compassion for furry babies and respectful for the parents. I was further surprised that the consult turned into DAY OF SURGERY, as the need was great after the on call surgeon had assessed Babygirl. I had come prepared as the other vet had scared me so bad. But the on-call surgeon at Dupont Clinic told me, most of what the other vet said, was not true. Now Babygirl did have a polyp in her right ear, attached, growing from the bone in her ear, which was rare. The polyp was angled in a weird place down in her ear canal near her right eye and growing out of the skull close to the bone of the right ear, but not cancerous, not a tumor, only a polyp although tricky it could be removed. The surgery was done and Babygirl had an overnight stay for observation, I think I got to take her home in 2 or 3 days later. DUPONT CLINIC and Doc MAVERICK are awesome!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. My WORST NIGHTMARE! Back in 2020, on a 6th or July, we came with our HEALTHY, HAPPY AND LOVED Yorkshire Terrier- (Cocky) because he had been “acting weird” for the past few hours… he had vomited the night before and was coughing which never happened to him and so we decided to bring him in. As covid was going strong, we were not allowed to go in with him, Dr. MAVERICH took him in, he said his coughing was due to “stomach issues” “nothing to worry about” my sister and I insisted that he double checked as it wasn’t a regular occurrence for him however, again “nothing to worry about” prescribed him some cerenia “for his vomit” and painkillers. However, little did we know that this misdiagnosis and malpractice from this place would lead us to say goodbye to our best friend forever. Hours later, we called because he didn’t seem to get better, same response…We decided to go to the ER at another hospital and they did an RX and found out he had aspiration pneumonia (fluids in his lungs) which they said was obvious by the symptoms described, he was left there in a incubator for hours trying to reverse all the time we had lost from visiting Dupont Veterinary Clinic. It wasn’t possible. absolutely veterinary negligence/malpractice. It went against standard of care, as they didn’t care enough to throughly rule out anything other than guessing “stomach issues” and now my dog is DEAD. Took me two years to be able to write a review, as I am still mourning his death and feel shame for trusting this place and not trusting my gut feeling when I knew something other than what was diagnosed was going on. A tragedy and every pet parent’s WORST nightmare. No one deserves this pain, trusting professionals to MURDER one’s loved pet, not to mention the psychological distress caused on us. Will NEVER EVER recommend Dupont Veterinary Clinic to Anyone.
I came to Dupont Vet on a recommendation from a friend and I have been very pleased with the care my cats have received over the last two years. My 15-year old has had quite a few health issues since I adopted him three years ago, and DVC has been very helpful in working with me to figure out what is going on. They also did an excellent job on the neuter and care for my 2 year-old and have always remarked on how well behaved my cats are when they come to visit :) On COVID-19 precautions, while a little frustrating to not be in the room with the vet to point out issues over the past year, I understand the need to set up these procedures and am very glad to be back inside the office to be with my cats, especially now that my senior kitty is experiencing some more serious chronic issues. Pricing....not much to be done there. I've been to other vets in the city and price differences are largely negligible. DVC has always understood the cost aspect of getting prescription medicine and has had no problem writing them for me to take to other pharmacies. We do live in an expensive city and the prices are what I pay for the convenience of having a vet right down the street and with excellent care from their staff. I will continue to bring my cats to DVC because of the great experiences with Dr. Rosen and (more recently) with Dr. Randall. I especially appreciate having more than one vet in practice who can see my cats on short notice -- they've made it very clear they review previous visits notes when discussing treatment options and next steps. One thing I would suggest for DVC is to be more upfront on their estimates for surgical procedures. I trust my vets to do the right thing by my cats and I already brace myself for costs, including those unexpected, but it would be helpful to get a better ballpark of what I'm going to pay.
1 review 5.0 star rating 3/16/2016 This place is a hidden gem. We recently adopted a dog from a rescue that had recently been treated for heart worm. We wanted to get her a check up and establish her with a vet in the area and a neighbor recommend Dupont Veterinary Clinic. We called and easily scheduled an appointment. The receptionist was extremely helpful and took down all of our information. He was very thorough and reminded us that there was no parking available besides street parking (assumed, but always nice to be reminded). About three days after we scheduled her appointment, she began vomiting and was not eating her usual amount. I called Dupont Veterinary Clinic and they were able to squeeze us in for an appointment that day. We arrived very early for the appointment and the staff was extremely friendly and social. We saw Dr. Mavrich and he was wonderful. He was very kind with our sweet girl who is a bit timid. He took his time with her and made sure that she was comfortable and as calm as could be. He took extra time to explain any and all questions that we had, printed out lots of extra material for us, and was otherwise perfect. The thing that I appreciated most was his thoroughness and attention to detail. He had performed a test that yielded somewhat in-conclusive results. Rather than make his best guess, he informed us that he wanted to consult with another vet in the practice and look at it with fresh eyes the next day. He called us the very next day and communicated that everything looked great. We loved the fact that he was so thorough and attentive. I would highly recommend Dupont Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Mavrich!
I have been taking my cat and dog there and the veterinarians have been nice, and the staff as well, until recently. Due to the pandemic and all the new puppies they are probably swamped, so I haven’t been able to get an appointment and have been going to Friendship Animal Hospital and VCA SouthPaws. I did, however, take my pup there this morning for wellness exam. I was late, walked in and apologized and said I had an appointment. The woman at the front desk said if you are 15 minutes late, you will have to reschedule. No good morning, no nothing. I looked at the time, it was barely 10 minutes. 7:38/39 instead of 7:30. I could have been the first customer. She left and meanwhile another member of staff walked in, very friendly (5 stars for her), said hello to my dog and checked me in. The first woman returned and said the exam fee is 75, but I would have to pay $150. Or that I can reschedule. I understand, rules are rules. Just be a bit nicer about it? Like sorry but I’m afraid you have to reschedule? However, it is safe to say she was rude. Bedside manners are important. I would expect a veterinarian office (a place full of cute cats and dogs) to have friendly people. I understand, clients can be difficult as well, but so often I see the opposite. So I’m going to a different vet now.
From the front desk to the vet techs and veterinarians, the clinic staff are consistently professional, responsive, and kind. Pretty sure my dog gets a much better healthcare experience than I do as a human! Whether via email, phone, or in person, Dupont staff patiently answer my questions and show real concern for my senior dog. Vet care can be expensive no matter where you go - but the Dupont clinic always clearly communicates cost, sending estimate invoices in advance and looking up prices on tests and medications so there are no surprises. I have never felt pressured to commit to more expensive procedures. The focus is always on what's best for my dog. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Monique Jones. She provides excellent communication and is clearly dedicated to providing the best care possible and finding answers for when things aren't going quite right for your pet. Our conversations are never rushed - she makes sure my questions are answered and we are on the same page moving forward. I have found her more responsive, available, and approachable than nearly every medical professional I've encountered - both those caring for humans and for animals! There is a real sense of relief and support knowing I have the Dupont Veterinary Clinic nearby if/when needed.
We have been going to this place for both our dog and cat for three years, and we are NOT going back. The mismanagement and complete disregard of our cat’s wellbeing makes me regret so much that I ever decided to trust my cat with this place. We left for a five-day vacation, boarding our cat, Emilio, with the DuPont Vet. Emilio is a disabled cat with only part of his tongue intact. When we boarded him, we left clear instructions, both verbally and in writing, that he could only eat canned food and that he needed to have 1.5 cans per meal, two meals a day. We also gave the staff Emilio’s blanket, which he had been sleeping on since he was three months old, and asked them to please let him sleep on the blanket. When we got back, we were told: (1) instead of 1.5 can per meal, Emilio has been fed 0.5 can of food per meal for the past five days, which is 1/3 of the amount of food he needs, and we were not giving an explanation why they did this; and (2) they lost Emilio’s blanket. I could not imagine how hungry and uncomfortable Emilio must have been while we were away. And I do not understand how could a vet think a cat weighing more than 10 lbs needs only one can of food in total per day. We are never going back and I suggest you do not trust your pets with this place.
I took my dog here when he was having some GI issues. I had to drop him off to go back to a meeting at work, but I was very worried so I asked them to give me a call right after the vet saw him and they said ok. Three hours later I had still not received a call. I eventually had to email them and ask about my dog and the doctor finally called. When I got there, I was told the visit was going to cost $400. He needed an antibiotic, which was $25 but I was shocked at the other charges. It was $84 just for the visit, then an additional $100 for tests that I didn't even know they were going to perform even though I asked them to call me before performing anything expensive. Then they had put $70 dog food and $70 probiotics on there that they said the doctor "recommended" but they never even asked me if I wanted them. I made them take those two things off and just got the antibiotic and after a few doses of the medicine my dog is perfectly normal again. There was absolutely no need for those $140 worth of charges. I read some reviews earlier saying they try to up charge you wherever they can here and it's true. Definitely going to find another vet in the area. This place took advantage of my worries for my dog.
It is difficult for me to express the level of gratitude I feel for DuPont Clinic. On 10/12, I had to make the incredibly difficult decision to put down my senior pom, Tinkerbell, who was 15 years old. Prior to this date, DuPont had been managing Tinkerbell's care over the past year had been so incredibly responsive to all my correspondences by e-mail and by phone. In the three days leading up to Tinkerbell's worsening health, DuPont was flexible with allowing me to bring her in to put her to sleep and allowed me to hold her at the time of her passing. This was so incredibly important to me as I feared I would not be able to do so in this time of COVID. Dr. Jones' empathy and compassion, to the staff's patience and understanding, made getting through one of the worst days of my life better. Not only did I receive Tinkerbell's remains in a beautiful memory box with her paw print, but I also received flowers and a handwritten card from the staff expressing their condolences. Their acknowledgement of my family's pain has made this process more bearable and I will without a doubt continue pursuing veterinary care for my surviving pet with their team. I recommend this veterinary practice whole-heartedly.
After an emergency vet visit, I was instructed to take my cat to primary care. I had trouble getting an appointment in the city, but DuPont Veterinary Clinic was able to fit me in that week even though I was a new patient. I saw Dr. Yallof. She said that she was pretty sure that my cat had cancer, but did not have the equipment for diagnostics and referred me to friendship. I had already spoken with friendship and they wouldn’t see me until I had a confirmed diagnosis. She called friendship to get me an appointment and followed up with me later that day. She was incredibly helpful and I’m grateful for her assistance. My cat did have cancer and ultimately did not make it. When his health declined I took him back to dupont veterinary clinic for euthanization. This time I saw Dr. Rosen. She was very caring during this difficult time and afterwards mailed me a card and wildflower seeds to plant in his honor. This situation has been very difficult, but everyone at dupont made everything a little easier, which is not what I experienced with other veterinary clinics and emergency services at that time.
This place misrepresented itself, and made untruthful statements both verbally and in writing. The practice manager, Richard Cohen, admitted that his wife and friends work at Friendship Hospital for Animals, which negligently/maliciously gave my cat dog medication and caused him to suffer. My cat had to be put to sleep as a result of the negligence of Friendship Hospital for Animals. Friendship Hospital for Animals was under investigation for animal abuse/cruelty and Dupont Veterinary Clinic provided Friendship Hospital my cat's clinical records without my authorization, despite the fact that they initially claimed that it was good that Friendship is being investigated for animal cruelty and promised not to provide my cat's clinical records. Dupont's agents were aware that I attended Friendship Hospital with the police in order to retrieve my cat and they were instructed not to provide any information to Friendship. Dupont claimed that they have no relationship with Friendship, yet the practice manager later admits to his ties to Friendship. The unlawful conduct of Dupont should be addressed.
Doctor Dan was very nice and informative and took great care of our dog. While we understand that your practice, as many of us in business, is under pressure from the pandemic and you may be understaffed, there is absolutely no cause for customer service representatives to be so rude when we are about to pay you hundreds of dollars. Since we moved to the area last year, DVC came highly recommended. You have great reviews, but our previous visits have all had communication issues from the front desk. It's a weekday in the middle of the day we have work calls and a 3-week old baby. The audacity of the receptionist ”relaying the doctors message” of ”maybe you should turn on your ringer.” and refusing our call back within less than a minute from our listed secondary contact whom you didn't call is atrocious. For a place that prides itself on customer service and touts that as one of its leading offerings you’re out right rude, inconsiderate of the client.
Good vets - just a very disappointing discourteous front office. It's pouring rain - I come in late by 12 mins (the window is ten mins) they refuse to let me meet the vet. We were there just a week ago so they know my puppy is sick and this is a quick follow up. Customers often wait for vets - I am always on time and have waited putting my workday on hold for sometimes half an hour for the vet to come in and see the dog. But customers don't get the same courtesy. What's the point of developing a relationship with the same clinic if they are not accommodating? The manager is missing in action - the room was empty because this is early in the morning - and the attitude of the front desk woman is incredibly insensitive and discourteous. Who needs this in addition to dealing with my puppy’s illness? I think the front desk think they are doing a favor to paying customers.
I have a very anxious dog and he absolutely loves all of the staff at Dupont Vet. They have been absolutely fantastic since I got him and I wouldn't take him anywhere else. I think I have now met all of the vets at the clinic and every one of them has been very skilled, good with my anxious dog, clear in their directions, and efficient in appointments. I've never waited more than 10 minutes, even for emergency work-ins. Overall, this clinic has been the best veterinary practice I've ever found. I also want to give a particular 1000 stars to Dr. Vail. When my dog was deathly ill, she sat on the floor with me (and him) for almost an hour talking about options, treatments, and emergency vet hospitals. She called daily to check in on him while he was hospitalized and was fantastic managing his treatment when he was released. I recommend her to everyone I know.
We took our cat in for her first checkup in DC and are generally pleased with the staff and care. She had an accident in her crate so they set her up with a small litter box in the room to make sure she could go once she was comfortable. We voiced a few concerns about her water intake and urine frequency and they suggested we keep a diary for a week or two to have some solid information before we spent hundreds of dollars running tests for many different conditions that could be associated with it. Totally fair, especially considering they did put emphasis on the need for a teeth cleaning and we're able to give us itemized price estimates for each vaccine, test, and procedure that we had discussed for importance so that we could prioritize. First vet's office I've ever been to that didn't pressure or scare you into spending money unnecessarily.
Highly recommend! All of the veterinarians and staff are fantastic. Dr. Babcock just treated my dog Meredith for hookworms and she really went above and beyond. I went in at 2:00 PM, we spoke again a couple hours later after Meredith’s symptoms progressed, and she called me at 8:30 PM before she left for the day to see how Meredith was doing. She also called me the next morning to see how Meredith did overnight. I was blown away by the level of care and attention. Meredith has recovered very quickly thanks to the help of Dr. Babcock. All of the staff I have interacted with over the past year have been extremely kind, patient, knowledgeable, and thorough, and they always do everything they can to make Meredith feel safe and comfortable. I’ve had some bad vet experiences in DC the past, but not once here. I am SO glad I found DuPont Vet!
Today I was walking my dog and he started pulling on his leash. I was confused before I realized we were across the street from Dupont Circle Veterinary Clinic. My pup loves the people at the clinic so much he WANTS to go to the vet! It shows how well the staff takes care of him. As for quality of care, he’s gone here since he was 9 weeks old - they got him fully vaccinated on schedule during a very busy time and have taken in him for same day appointments when I have concerns. The clinic also did his neutering procedure and he healed quickly with no complications. He primarily sees Dr. Jones, who is extremely knowledgeable and thoroughly answers all my questions. I hope the clinic continues to expand their use of apps like VitusVet and online based appointment/contact systems. All in all, five star experience!
In the first few years that this clinic opened, I had to put down my cat. I went there because it was close and I could see how they handled me and my pet. They gave him the ultimate dose before telling me that this would be it! So I had no chance to say good-bye to him or pet him! I was really upset. Today, 2016, I needed their cooperation to work with another vet's office to get some pain medication today for my new cat who has cancer. I called three times in the a.m. and never got a response. It just went to voice mail and no one ever bothered to call me back. I'd like to say something good about this clinic, but with these experiences, I simply cannot. They do not exhibit the sensitivity and care that I would and should expect from any veterinary clinic.
Honestly I don't have enough good things to say about Dupont Vet Clinic - my dog is literally the devil the second he steps foot in the door, and they are always SO accommodating and understanding and patient when he's literally trying kill them the entire time. There's a vet tech gentleman with longer hair who is so phenomenal with my dog while he's being evil/nervous/won't calm down. A few years ago my dog ingested a shoe and they ultimately did his surgery to remove it, but gave me the names and numbers and referrals to other vets and hospitals in the area to ensure I could look into other options and prices for I had all the info, just 10/10 recommend, I keep moving farther away and won't switch vets.
My sister and I came here because her elderly cat who had been her companion was very sick. During that consultation, she decided she needed to have her beloved Maribelle put to sleep. I have never seen so much compassion from the vet and every member of staff. The vet gave precise information, always referred to Maribelle as my sister's friend and companion, and helped her understand the true parameters for her choice so that she could do what was best for her friend. He explained everything the whole way and let her hold Maribelle as she got the sedative so that her last conscious memory would be cuddled on her lap instead of on the table. I really cannot praise them enough.
Dupont Vet clinic was recommended to me several years ago by others with German Shepherds. Never been disappointed, three dogs later. Very courteous and helpful front desk, solid vet techs, and expert treatment. While I typically ask for Dr. Dan Shilito because of his German Shepherd experience, I've had other Doctors and have always been pleased. Treatments are on time, communications via email phone and face to face are always clear and easy to understand, and the staff will recommend a whole host of options for whatever is ailing your pet. My dogs have had exams, vaccines, labs and surgeries with these folks, and never an issue. I am very happy with my vet!
The staff and vets are professional, attentive, and genuinely care about your pet. However, do think twice before buying any medication directly from them. A generic drug they just prescribed for my dog cost me $70+ at the DuPont Vet Clinic, while online sources price the same drug and quantity at $20. I support local businesses and understand that local prices will inevitably be higher, but this clinic’s med prices should not be 3.5x higher than other pharmacies. Again, this is a great place to get care for your pet, but please do your research on medicine costs before handing over your credit card to the receptionist.
I liked the donation fund sign for low Income family who can't afford taking care of their pets... but seeing the price for just clipping small dog's nails here... it's kind of ironic. 25 usd for clipping nails of a chihuahua dog?!? We are talking about a 1 minute job. I know places that do that easy and quick basic care for free. I'm not questioning nor judging the competence of vets or cares here, but following that experience, I unfortunately believe making good profit comes before pet's care. I'm standing by for correction or explanations about what justify 25 usd for a quick nail clip.
Today I was working late and didn't realize it was almost 6. I only work 7 minutes from the clinic. My dog Hank needed his heartworm meds. I got there and of course Friday traffic, there was absolutely no where to park. I call and the most pleasant voice (Justin) I think, answers and listens to my panic, about how I can't find parking, and I'm blocking traffic. This gentleman was so calm, he told me that he would come to the car. I was just amazed at the customer service! He came out got my card, and came back with the receipt and meds. I am forever grateful, because he was AWESOME!
My pup had a pretty severe cough after being at a kennel over the winter holiday so we booked her in to make sure it wasn’t anything too serious. On the morning of her appointment, we were running late getting to the appointment and struggled to find parking. Even though we ran past the grace period after parking, the manager was able to squeeze us in and have her looked at. I particularly appreciated her care and understanding during this time. This was definitely a positive experience and one that reaffirms that we made the right choice coming here for Zoey’s care.
Love Dupont Veterinary Clinic and their team. My cat Nutmeg Has received excellent care from Dupont over the last two years, including regular visits and diagnosis and care of several chronic conditions. Excellent place to go for vet care; vets are kind, professional, and ultimately help you and your pet through sometimes difficult times. They also have an app through which you can access all your pets’ records, and an online store to purchase any vet prescribed foods or medications that is easy and convenient to use. You are in good hands!
When we first moved here my German Shepherd Lab had a broken nail.. They were very caring about it. Although they sent me somewhere else to remove the nail, so I did and the other vet clinic told me that it would have been a VERY quick procedure that it really made no sense to send me there. But other than that I really liked them! They didn't use too much terminology that I didn't understand and I appreciate that. So other than posted above they are a pretty great vet clinic
PROFITEER WARNING for most pet owners, man's best friend is another member of the family and deserves the best care, but you need to be alert to profiteers, some of the veterinarians at this place are out to make an extra buck, they pad the bill with unnecessary tests and procedures. Speaking from experience, I suggest you approach this otherwise excellent veterinary clinic with caution -- never hurts to question your doctor so why not your dog or cat's.
It breaks my heart because I’ve been coming here for years and like the doctors. They have taken on way too many new patients and don’t leave enough time for emergency appointments so you can go days waiting for an appointment or have to go to the hospital (and spend thousands of dollars) on what could have been solved with a 5 minute exam and a prescription. I’ve been 0 for 3 in getting an emergency appointment over the past 18 months.
Called the emergency number when they were closed and no one answered or got back to me after going there for many years. I called two days later to figure out what happened and the receptionist Sierra answered and was EXTREMELY rude to me. I won’t ever go back but the good news is my cat is okay now thanks to our new vet at Bond Veterinary who was so kind and caring and has called me back to check on him.
My dogs see Dr Heller. I absolutely love her! I'm quite picky when it comes to veterinarians, and she is phenomenal. She treats my dogs like they are the only ones she cares for. She never seems rushed and always listens to concerns. She's great about following up and doing intermittent check ins. It might be more expensive than other vets in the area, but the service you get is well worth it.
The reception staff have always been friendly and supportive, when I’ve called in concerned about my pup throwing up, they gave me some great advice over the phone which helped without me having to bring him in. Dr Dan has also always been an amazing vet to my pup and genuinely cares about him and always provides great advice on how to keep him socialized and healthy.
Highly recommend this vet! My cat recently had a minor allergic reaction to a routine vaccination and they gave initial recommendations over the phone, accommodated us coming back for monitoring and did an amazing job handling my extremely uncooperative and aggressive cat. She may hate the vet, but I love Dupont Vet Clinic and am so glad they're taking care of her.
It’s not just about the location and accessibility. This by far is the most caring, sincere, passionate, instructive and professional veterinary clinic. I’ve Been an ongoing patient for nearly 30 years and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. The entire staff from the front desk, the support team and the veterinarians are truly remarkable
I can not emphasize how much I appreciate Dupont Vet Clinic. Their staff is always kind and courteous, going above and beyond. After the visits and exams, the doctor goes out of her way to call me and check in that everything is alright and that my cats are happy and well. I am very very pleased with my experiences at Dupont Vet Clinic.
I have taken all three of my dogs there now for over 6 years. I recently lost one to old age and deteriating health. The entire staff at Dupont Vet was very caring, kind and helpful. I would never go anywhere else with my dogs. Dr. Hollis is a wonderful vet and she truly cares about the wellbeing of her patients and their owners.
We've gone here for nearly 10 years. Dr Rosen takes careful care of our pup Gadget who with age has a number of health issues, and expertly coordinates with his specialists at Friendship Hospital. She carefully reads his entire chart from Friendship before every well visit. She also caught a heart murmur that needed treatment.
Terrible and rude customer service. Whomever I spoke to have an insulting habit of talking down to you. I cannot and will never recommend this place. The sad thing I used to live down the street from them and I went there out of convenience. How we I cannot recommend becusee they do not know how to talk to their customers!
This place is an awful place for my cats and I. The doctors and personnel never understand your needs. They requested a lot of my time and never did the job that I requested. This place is a poor place for services for other cultures. If you need permission for international travel, please do not visit this terrible vet!
Very disappointed in the level of care from DuPont vet. We have a very anxious rescue, and I would have expected staff to be more kind and not label her as "bad" as I expect more from animal caregivers. We will not return, and would not recommend if you want to feel you can trust your vet to take kind care of your pet.
I had been coming to this vet for 20 years, but I will not be returning. I took my sick dog in, they ran blood work. I asked for his stomach to be xrayed on 2 visits and one week and it wasn't done. I took him to another hospital only to discover that he has a bleeding mass on his spline. Thanks alot for nothing!
We went to Dupont Veterinary for almost a year while we were living in DC and we loved it. Dr. Mavrich is a great vet, and was always so kind and caring and would even call to follow-up with us to make sure our dog was doing well. I highly recommend Dupont Veterinary to anyone that lives in the area.
Our dear Jack Russell terrier Pelayo went to Dupond veterinary clinic very ill with a terminal cancer. Dr. Daniel Shillito attenden him in such a professional and loving way that helped us to overcome the pain of losing our dear friend and companion. Everybody is nice and caring. Highly recommended.
Have been coming to Dupont for nearly 25 years. I dearly miss Verna and Jessie, but I must day the new breed are showing their kindness, professionalism and compassion, the same as those who were there before them. I was a bit concerned for a while but the changes seem to be in the doggies' favor.
Franc has made a complete recovery and is back to her loving, playful activities. Dr. Blalock was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and courteous to Franc and us. She is a rare doctor which has all of those attributes. Furthermore, the entire staff was friendly and helpful during our visit.
After refraining from posting a review on my last dogs appointment - I decided to Post this time. The veterinarians here care less about paying close attention to the pets but prefer to rush through clients to get as many clients in and out the door for a profit. My doggie is like my child.
I will never have enough good things to say about the entire team at this office. Despite being in a city, they have such a small town feel. They know their clients and care for everyone on a personal level. My pets are always in great hands here.
I've been taking 3 generations of cats there since they first opened. Although it hasn't always been the case, for the past few years the care and compassion shown by everyone there has been exemplary. I would particularly recommend Dr. Drummond.
My puppy sees Dr Monique Jones, who is truly wonderful. The entire staff at Dupont is incredibly kind. Everyone goes above and beyond to care for their clients. My puppy always has a great time and I feel like she is very safe in their hands.
Attempted to reach out for a pre flight check for our dog as we have a longer stay in DC. Unfortunately after using their online form and calling I received no response. They may not do these check but I would have appreciated hearing back….
So grateful I found this clinic. My cats have been to 4 different vets across the DMV area and this is the best care we’ve ever received. Prices are also very reasonable especially considering the area. I have been bringing my super senior
We tried several different vets in DC before landing at DuPont Vet Clinic and we’ll never go anywhere else. The staff are amazing, the animal care is great. And I’ve never felt like the prices were extraordinary, and certainly never felt
Dr Murdoch is very capable, compassionate, and communicates clearly recommendations and options. My Buddy cat is recovering very quickly from an urgent procedure. Everyone else I encountered was professional and helpful.
Love Dupont Veterinary Clinic soooooo much. Always make sure my little Ellie feels comfortable and also takes great care of her in her visits. That goes for both Doctors and staff members. 10/10 best Vet.
Love this vet, always very accommodating to my Great Dane Bailey. They give top notch care and have always been able to diagnose whatever issues we are seeing the dr for. Highly recommend this vet.
The vet we saw was not part of the practice and highly inexperienced. The waiting room is about 8 by 8 feet which might work for some dogs but elbow to elbow people and dogs won’t work for my dog.
I love bringing my pet here the doctors were very knowledgeable and got my dog the care he needed. From beginning to end superb job kudos to Tya for having exemplary customer service!!!
First visit with my new Dachshund puppy. The staff was very kind, friendly and professional. Dr. Fires was just wonderful and very attentive about my puppy's health and training needs.
Feels like bringing your pet home. Everyone is so helpful and loving w my pet and helpful in calming my nerves.i also love the after hours activities for our pets. Great place.
We absolutely love Dupont for all of our dogs’ needs. They are courteous and caring (and our dogs can be difficult!) Prices can be a bit high but worth it for this care.
I've patronized Dupont Vets for about 10 years because from the front desk to the Drs. to the staff, all are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
We have been taking our dog here for years and love them. Dr. Shilito isn’t fantastic and so is the whole team. Very happy and highly recommended.
Horrible clinic. Treated my poor dog horribly and charged me $thousands for awful treatment both by dr. bruce herwald and the rude attendants.
I followed Dr Cohen when she joined Dupont Veternary clinic. She is a conscientious veterinarian and I thoroughly trust her medical advice
Everyone at Dupont Vet Clinic is outstanding. They really do care about Ollie my 11 year old Havanese and treat him like a real prince.
Did not have a long wait; vet was professional, thorough, asked plenty of questions. Everyone was helpful / friendly. Highly recommend
The staff were patient, caring and knowledgeable. They were exemplary and I would absolutely take my fuzzy babies there again
Very professional, very welcoming and my Cinnamon loves all of the staff (and he's a picky cat with lots of character!)
Great place although a bit expensive. However they outlined the cost every step of the way and Dr. Dan was fantastic!
Such friendly and thorough staff and Vets! My dog actually is excited to go, due to all his positive experiences!
All around wonderful people who care about your pets. Pricey, but so is everything in DC and well worth it.
The staff is very sweet & kind with very good customer service…they treat my Mr Cooper wonderful here …
I've been dealing with DuPont Vet Clinic for 17yrs. Very happy with their services and care for my cats.
We've worked with several vets here, and all are amazing! The techs and front desk staff are also great.
I wouldn’t bring my animals anywhere else. I trust Dupont Vet Clinic and have for many years now.
Caring, competent and accommodating primary vet for me cat. No scruffing or unnecessary tension
My go to vet for over 30 years! Excellent care and professional service. Highly recommend.
Outside of the parking aspect, a great place to take your pets if you want quality care!
cool dudes in here, helped my cat out, cost me approximately ten trillion dollars
Very friendly and responsive. Vets are both pet and people persons.
A little expensive, as all vets are in DC, but great great service.
Dr Nicole is very unprofessional. Never take your pet to them!
Fast and efficient service very caring of animals
Our cats suffered animal abuse. Not recommended.
great vets, and always a super friendly staff.
Best place to bring your furry friends
Very helpful staff! Nice vets!
I do not recommend this vet.
Amazing staff and support.
