We have been a long time customer of this vet, and took our previous dog here before he passed away due to a genetic disease. They provided very good care and were always upfront about costs. Not sure if management changed, but they were not clear on the prices and procedures that would be done. I would advise any new pet owners to come until this is addressed. We have a new puppy we brought in who had coughing issues and were scared that he would have the same condition as our previous dog, so we were very trusting of the vet's opinion to get additional tests done. My sister was the one who took our puppy in, and was very stressed about the diagnosis so it slipped her mind to ask about prices. The vet who treated our puppy was Dr Greer Hangay. I called the vet today to get more information about the appointment as my sister couldn't go. The receptionist read through the notes and told us it would cost $550 - $650 for the X-Rays. When we called back and told them our anger about the prices being witheld until the appointment, they apologised and sent a breakdown in email for us. The actual quote was over $1000. There must be serious management issues if the first receptionist couldn't even tell me the proper quote with the first call, and I had to ask to get the prices to be sent to me. Not even that, we should've been told on the day that the appointment was made so we could make a more informed decision.

Appalling lack of empathy and poor customer service when we made an appointment to euthanize our 17 year old Chihuahua. I called for a quote on the phone the morning of the appointment. I was quoted $210. (Having seen a vet from the clinic a few days prior) When we turned up for the appointment, feeling emotional. I wanted to prepay as I knew we would be upset afterwards. The receptionist couldn't get the correct price up on the system. She said it was Showing a price if $215 in one part of the system and $210 in another part of the system. She asked us to wait while she sorted it out. After waiting for 10 minutes she comes up to me and tells me it would be nearly $250 as the vet wanted to use an additional sedative. I said I already had 2 quotes and was ok paying $20 more as this vet is close to home but I felt it was very exploitative to wait until someone is in the clinic in a highly vulnerable state to 'surprise' them with additional costs.... I left and will go elsewhere to have my baby euthanized as I refuse to be taken advantage of even at this stressful time. UPDATE: We had our dog euthanized at another clinic. They had so much empathy and care. And they made it as stress free as it could be. A dramatic contrast to our experience at East Bentleigh Veterinary Clinic. I'm so glad I didn't let East Bentleigh Vets put our dog to sleep.

Hi Team, I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for your care, love and understanding during mine and my family’s grief of losing our beloved family member, Leo Le. I know words don’t really mean much, but our family are extremely grateful for the actions you all have shown in trying to make this unfortunate and unforeseen event “easier” as can be. As I said to Nick tonight when I picked up Leo’s ashes, thank you so much for the personalised card that was sent after Leo’s passing. Special thanks to Dr Sarah Warren for taking in Leo, even though for a very short amount of time, she showed an immense amount of kindness and understanding towards Leo (being an anxious and reactive big German Shepherd boy). We never felt judged by Sarah on how Leo would react as he had always been scared to go to any vet clinic. Sarah listened to my concerns that weren’t met somewhere else and actioned appropriately. I cannot fault her care at all and can see why all my workmates had recommended her and this clinic. You all do amazing work and are severely undervalued for what you all do. Even though I live nearly 9 km from this East Bentleigh Vet Clinic and ironically, have 2 other vet clinics in walking distance from my house, I always schlepp to this clinic, as the vets here are SO professional, really care about their patients of all varieties, and also have an enormous social conscience, where Dr Damian usually travels once a year to 3rd world countries, to help train vets & vet nurses and organize a mass, anti-rabies, vaccination program. Given our older dog is in his senior years, nearly 15, we have dealt with all the vets at one time or another. Every vet is professional and caring and one feels like the approach is genuine. This clinic is also reasonably priced without the usual "price gouging" and "quick patient turnover" as I have experienced in other clinics, with previous dog ownership. With over 20 years of patronage at the East Bentleigh Vet Clinic, I am happy to give them 5 stars: 5 *****

I've been holding off writing this review because it was my friend that went through this horrible experience. Her dear dog run away and later she got a call from the vet. Someone had handed her fur baby in to East Bentleigh vet and it was hurt badly and died later on (or if they had to put it down). She went to the vet and I was with her. She wanted to say a final goodbye to her baby but the staff didn't let her in because she didn't wear a mask! My friend have a valid medical exemptionand actually can't wear a mask because of her trauma that is 100% real, but it didn't help. They made her just stand there outside crying. This is so wrong on every level. There was not another person there at the time and they could have made a compassionate exemption for her but they didn't. They choose to let her baby dog die and my friend to be left without saying goodbye. For what?

The wonderful team at the East Bentleigh VeT clinic provide care to the precious four legged members of our family. They do this with that rare combination of professional expertise and kindness. Because of their knowledge and skill we've enjoyed some great outcomes. Recently, after a very rich life of 18 years, my 95 year old father's loyal friend, Ted, passed. Once more Ted was the beneficiary of the customary high level of care from this team, but this time, things were out of reach. In this situation we saw the other crucial aspect of what it is to be a great Vet, communication, patience, compassion, decency. There's a great doco out, 'We don't deserve dogs'. But dogs most certainly deserve Vets like Jacqui and her amazing colleagues at the East Bentleigh Vet clinic. Front of house, support team, clinicians, you are amazing! Thank you.

Dr Sarah and the team at EBVC took wonderful care of my kitty Goofy. From an emergency admission on Tuesday morning through to discharge on Thursday evening, every member of staff I interacted with were kind, gentle and compassionate. They went above and beyond to call me with regular updates and were happy to take my calls when I wanted to check in. Although it was such a stressful experience, I was comforted by the fact he was in good hands with such a knowledgeable and caring team looking after him. Although the stay was pricy (when is it not?) the staff were extremely transparent and upfront regarding the costs involved - the invoice at the end actually came to less than I was initially quoted! I can't thank you enough for taking such good care of my boy, I'm so grateful

I would never ever go to East Bentleigh Vet Clinic.!!!! Having made an appointment to see a specific vet, I arrived and was told that she was unavailable, and I would have to see a different vet. This is the third time I have made an appointment to see a certain vet and was told that she was unavailable, even though I specifically asked the see a certain vet. After complaining about the service, I was told by the receptionist that if I was not happy, I should go to another vet, this the second time I have complained and on both occasions, I was told to go to another vet. Thanks, Dr Lucie, for coming back to me I really apricate it. (You are the only reason I kept on coming back to East Bentleigh Vet, but enough is enough)

Dr Damien, Vet Nurse Jane and the rest of the EBVC team are wonderful. If you have a furry family member in need of treatment EBVC should be your only place to go. Dr Damien, explains what is happening with your family member in detail. Allowing you to look through the microscope to see what he sees as well as drawing on the whiteboard to explain in simple language what is happening. It allows you to make an informed choice as to treatment plans. Vet Nurse Jane, she is wonderful. So gets how much our pets mean to us and ensures that our pets well being is a priority as well as ours. EBVC is a great place to take your pets.... wish I could say the same for human health care providers.

I travel there 30 mins because I can’t trust new local vet as i moved last year. I brought my cat back there 3 time for vaccination, general check and some skin issues that my cat has. I suppose to revisit next week but i feel it’s going nowhere when my cat still have problems. Until last night i had to rush her into emergency vet and finding out she has heart murmur. The vet at emergency asked me about it I said i have no clue. None of any vet I visited diagnosed her with irregular heartbeat beat that can check through physical examination. Im in shock as my cat is in intensive care atm and i think i need to say this for whatever it’s worth for pet owners.

Couldn’t rate EBVC highly enough. I called ahead about our dog Prince, who is a rescue dog and has previously been reactive and nervous at other vets clinics, however Dr Damian, Dr Lucie and the team at EBVC couldn’t have been more incredible with him. They were patient and made him feel comfortable (which made me relax too). When we were given an upsetting prognosis, the follow up care for Prince, including the phone calls to check in on us as the owners, have made a huge difference. The team here care. You’d be hard pressed to find a better veterinary clinic anywhere I’d say. Thank you for EBVC. You’ve made all the difference.

Think twice before going here! Have 4 animals which we normally take here regularly but after tonight would think again about going back. Took dog in an emergency as she had a seizure, 2 vets and vet nurses on duty, no one would even bother to take a quick look at our dog, instead we got, “we have just finished cleaning and are closing soon” couldn’t even take a quick look at our dog to check her vitals! I thought having some consideration and care for animals would be needed by the staff here as a prerequisite! I would advise people to look elsewhere for a vet that cares! Very poor from the staff tonight! Avoid at all costs!

I have visited many vets over the past 15 years with my fur baby and wouldn't go anywhere else after recently going to East Bentleigh Vet. Every single person I spoke to throughout the process of my dogs surgery was extremely compassionate and I felt confident my dog was in safe and trusting hands. They sent me a photo of him before going into surgery & called the morning after I took him home just to check in how he went through the night. Genuine, knowledgeable, caring & compassionate. I have already recommended this wonderful clinic to many family members & friends. Highly highly highly recommend!!

This is our second vet clinic and i am glad we came here. The clinic was very professional and covid control was well performed. The doctor examined our cats carefully and with care. She suggested us how and what to feed the cats (They were having digestion and vomiting problems) and it was very practical and helpful. The probiotic medication she gave us worked so well, it was such a relief. Unlike My previous vet who always suggested me to return without any specific solutions, East Bentleigh clinic suggested us precise solutions and practical ways to resolve after our cats’s sickness. Very reliable.

The staff at Bentleigh East are always so friendly and considerate of my puppies curious and timid nature. As a new owner they have been open to and answered all my questions and made me feel well supported in our journey. Lottie has just had her desexing operation where she received the best care and I was sent home with clear instructions and information on her expected recovery and follow up requirements. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone in the locality, it is a very calm and welcoming place for you and your fur-friends!

Never had a bad experience. We moved from another vet (near Southland shopping centre) because all they seemed to care about was up-selling and giving our dogs unnecessary drugs but East Bentleigh Vet has been a breath of fresh air.... They have always made recommendations based on what is best for our fur babies, not what is best for their pockets. They even send us reminders for when flea, tick and worming treatments are due. Highly recommend them if you want a caring compassionate veterinary clinic.

Really disappointed with East Bentleigh Vet Clinic. Being a client for around 12 years and using the cattery each Christmas, as well as other times during the year, I called today (20/11/20) to confirm my booking and make an additional booking, only to be told the cattery is no longer available. As my family live interstate I make the Christmas booking each year, 12 months in advance. I was told all bookings were notified by phone however I did receive that same courtesy. Very poor form.

We recently had to put our beloved cat down and couldn't have been more thankful for the grace, empathy and compassion shown by the vet we had. It's never an easy time for anyone going through that process and the whole clinic gave us all the space and love we needed in order to grieve. Thank you. We have also previously gone in a couple of times since moving here and have been impressed with how thorough they have been with assessing our animals. Will certainly be back.

Miss Lina my 13 year old lab is just so lucky to have East Boundary Road as her vet. They all make a special fuss of a very spoilt girl and have always treated any concerns I have with her health with great care and thoughtfulness and with super practical outcomes for my old girl. Truly a vet practice where they all give a darn about the health of your pet and understand very well how precious they are to each pet parent

I have a 12 week old Amstaff puppy and I was recommended to go to the clinic through a friend and I can’t recommend them enough. My puppy had some gastrointestinal issues early on and they were so helpful and comforting in how they slept with the situation. A couple of years ago, I changed vets and thought I'd give East Bentleigh Vet Clinic a try. I have absolutely no regrets! Our family dog and guinea pigs have been cared for with utmost care, dedication and skill. I am in awe and very grateful for the compassion of these incredibly wonderful vets. They know my pets and I am so very happy that I found this clinic ❤️

Our little 7 month old Lab Moose unfortunately swallowed something he shouldn't have... Lucie and the team were amazing and got him back to normal! After his surgery, I went to pick him up and he didn't want to leave! He loves the team at East Bentleigh and so do we! I am so happy to have found this vet! All of the staff are friendly, will go above and beyond to help and make you feel at ease. They fit me in without any hesitation when I had an emergency situation and took great care of my dog, and I am so grateful for this. They are very knowledgeable and you can trust that your pet is well looked after.

I'll never go to a shop clinic ever again because the book in is two weeks and events I had a van at come to my house and they did the job in couple of minutes I asked no receipts thank you very much for the job and I paid less money thank you very much bye bye you'll never see me again and I use the wonderful jobs but only for your wallets

All vets, including the regular locum and support staff, are excellent and very caring with my dog. Good communication with owners too! Good setup and I like they get involved helping with pets in need overseas and during bushfires. reasonable cost, patiently take the time needed and available 7 days a week. Good hearts and good skills..

One of my close friend recommended this Vet to us. We have been taking our puppy here since mid 2020 (yes, during lockdown too!). Wonderful, caring vets and vet nurses who take amazing care of my cats. My cats are extremely skiddish, but are fairly comfortable with the people here. Both have had surgery and they weren't at all traumatised when they got home, though I thought they would be.

This is an amazing veterinary clinic. They are so gentle and caring. Our cavoodle had to have both rear legs rebuilt due to cruciate ligament misalignment and they did an amazing job. Can’t speak highly enough if this practice.

This is the second time I have been here. The doctors are very professional and kind. The reception staffs are friendly. This vet is the closest one to my home but it is the best one I found in my area.

Everyone at this Clinic has a genuine love for all animals, they show care for animals above all else. Others seemed to be more intent on making money from my older pets. Will not go anywhere else now.

Couldn’t recommend this vet enough. We have seen Dr Sarah Warren and Dr Natasha Stewart and both are incredibly compassionate and professional. I really appreciate everything they have done.

Local vet. They always do a reasonable job. For checkups though its 5 seconds of explaining and "dont worry pets fine, come back if it gets worse" $70. That $70 adds up quickly for nothing.

These guys are the best. Caring, compassionate and always have time to see your pet and answer questions. Particular mention to Damian who in our opinion is the nicest VET at the clinic.
