This is my second time having a positive experience with East Coast Rental that I'd like to share. Not only did they offer competitive prices for car rentals, but their customer service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that my rental experience was smooth and hassle-free. What impressed me even more was when I had to extend my rental period. I simply called their customer service line, and the process was incredibly easy. The representative I spoke with was efficient and helpful, swiftly handling my request without any complications. It was a seamless experience that further solidified my satisfaction with East Coast Rental. I highly recommend East Coast Rental for their competitive prices, good customer service, and the convenience of extending your rental with ease. Booked with east coast for our great ocean drive. Please do not book with “Waffa” (horrible old woman) and ask for another Indian guy to assist. She provided terrible and horrendous customer service. She gave us an old car when the Indian guy promised a new car and charged us $30AUD (math failed and definitely overcharged) for 1 bar of petrol when we did not make noise that we booked for 4 days but drove only for 3 days. Inflexible and ridiculous. PLEASE do not rent your car with them. Terrible service and experience! If you want to tell us that you will “see what you can do” then have the balls to come back out and tell us that you will charge us instead of asking your junior staff to relay the bad news. Have the balls to own up to your unpleasantness. Will NEVER rent with them again if WAFFA is still here. East coast rental PLEASE relook at your service staff.

While this review is nudged by East Coast - I am a frequent renter and happy about it. Why? (1) Their pricing is usually among the cheaper car hire/rental companies, if not the cheapest. (2) There is no nonsense with tolls - they charge a tiny per day fee and only if you use a toll road, plus the cost of the toll (by tiny I mean AUD$1.10 - with is *dramatically* less than most) (3) the second driver fee is flat and relatively low (AUD$12) (4) For me the 2 CBD (downtown) locations are convenient (5) I've rent from one of East Coast's 2 Melbourne CBD locations and I've never had the smallest problem and I've always had great customer service. Are there any negatives? If there is one, it is that you have to call customer service if you want to cancel your reservation. I'd prefer to be able to do it on line.

nice car, great location, and perfect place if you want some condescending white old lady attitude, will offer impatient explanation and one totally not full-tank car and offer no check up procedure and have you notice the tank is already half empty on the road. but none of that matters because the fault is absolutely ours to blame, because we are just some ignorant foreign tourists that’s over happy about the trip to forget to take pictures of the tank before our departure. And we are totally fine with paying over $30 for one bar of fuel that she claim to be full tank without even checking yet the manager showed with photo evidence that is one bar down from full tank. So in general, great place!!

I originaly booked with another site for East Coast Car Rentals and there was a huge issue with the booking. When I went in to pick up the car, I was suppose to give East Coast Car Rentals a $1000 deposit that I wasn't advised of and could not afford. I ended up cancelling the booking through the other place and rebooking directly with East Coast Car Rentals. The car was perfect size and had the most up to date gadgets to ensure that our trip was a great experience. The Staff at the Melbourne Grand Hyatt were understanding, amazing and accomodating to my circumstances. I would definitely recommend East Coast Car Rentals over any other place I have been to.

The smoothest car hire experience! I’m on my provisional (Green P) and love that ECCR allows P platers to hire. Being a P plater you must take out the fully inclusive rate which I didn’t mind too, since that reduced my liability/excess to NIL. It also meant there was no bond for me which was great! Easy and efficient check in .. vehicle was actually 2023 Hybrid Corolla hatch which was the perfect size for us to use around Melbourne. We did an out of hours check out which was very easy … honestly would recommend EECR to anyone wanting to hire. Their prices were also very reasonable as our car hire was last minute compared to other rental places

Helpful, flexible , clear. Nice attitude. One of the best experience I have had with car rental or any other services I have encountered in Australia. Lee on the phone was fabulous! The car was new, clean and in great contouring. A recent model with GPS and other features at no extra costs. Have recommended to my friends who are traveling to Australia next month. From calling and enquiring, changing some details with another call, to pick up to drop off at 5 am in the morning, the people at East Coast I encountered were present, helpful and can be trusted. Easy, fast online booking, helpful staff for ease of pickup and return. There will be slow periods so pickup time won't always be accurate, especially if the customer in front has a more complex booking/issue, but staff are helpful in trying to sort things in a timely manner. Special thanks to Michael and Waffie on each occasion. No issues with cars hired. Very reasonable prices. Have to get the lifts to the left (when facing the hotel) of the Grand Hyatt to level 4 to get to the rental. Return is then via the ramp to the right (when facing the hotel) to enter the carpark.

Staff v cooperative and as we had some change in our booking dates they willingly did without charging any fees moreover while pick up also we were offered an upgrade with a minimum add on charges though we didnt take as we had booked as per our choice..the convenience of Pickup was nice only hiccup was while dropping as they didn't have a key drop box whereas we had to return the car at after hours so we had to arrange a key drop next day through our friend.. All thru the experience was v good keep it up.

Booked cars twice and from different venue. 1) Tullamarine Airport (20/7/23 - 24/7/23): the guy attended to us was very helpful and cooperative. Thumbs up to him. 2) Grand Hyatt Hotel, Melbourne (27/7/23 - 28/7/23): the lady was unfriendly and unhelpful. We waited for 20 minutes to get her to help us with the GPS as the car has no USB port. She didnt turn up at all, so we left as we couldnt wait anymore. Im giving 3 star overall. But am giving 5 stars to the guy who attended to us from Tullamarine Airport.

If you stay in Melbourne city center, East Coast Car rentals is easy to access and find it. The rental car is cleaned and easy to drive. Front desk is polite and friendly except the car attendant are loss when you posed them some easy question like: Is the car come with google map function, car attendant dont even want to explain to u and say ask the front desk??? this is not a good impression given to customer. A bit of shock when I got such reply... Other than that everything work out fine to me.

Just rented a car through East Coast Car Rentals for our Melbourne trip. Overall a great experience. The car was fine. We booked one of the inexpensive ones and got what I paid for. Still cheaper than the bigger rental companies. We didn't use the car much but it served it's purpose. The drop off was smooth as well. The service we received from Michael was exceptional and above and beyond. Not sure when if ever we'll will be back in Melbourne but I would totally use this company again.

Though we had to reschedule some of our itinerary due flight delays & a punctured tyre during the roadtrip... East Coast car rental services were always within reached to assist. Easy to communicate with. The pick up area was a bit hard to find for someone not familiar with Melbourne CBD. I would suggest for ECCR Grand Hyatt to provide a simple guide, map or some photos to the car park entrance via the one way Flinders Lane as access is not directly on 123, Collins St.

Convenient location, competitive prices. Service is good. We got into a car accident (of no fault of ours) and Michael was incredibly helpful and nice about it. His kindness was appreciated as we are not from Melbourne and was completely clueless as to what to expect with the insurance / post follow up from the accident. That said everyone please just get zero excess insurance. Gives you a peace of mind should anything happen to the car.

Centrally located, easy to access for pickup and drop off. We were given a near new Camry hybrid and covered about 700km over 3 days. Perfect motoring experience aided by peace of mind from paying the excess waiver. Still a very reasonable price and refuelling was only $50. Staff at pickup and drop off were helpful professional and efficient and had us on our way quickly. Photos of car condition were taken at pickup and provided to us.

Great car rental company in Melbourne. The car was very clean and the toddler seat that we rented was by far the cleanest we have ever had from car rental places. Pick up was hassle free and convenient. The two ladies were quite busy with other customers at the time of our pickup so had to wait to be served but the service was great and efficient. Will highly recommend this place for a car rental in Melbourne CBD.

A great, easy rental experience. I booked online in the morning and collected the car at a few hours later. The vehicle was spotless and ready for our trip to Phillip Island. The assistant at the desk (I wish I got her name) was super nice and even though she had had a rough morning with problems, she was able to keep smiling and look after my rental needs with professionalism and care. Rented a car from East Coast Car Rental for a 4 days trip on the Great Ocean Road. Everything from collection of car to returning of car were hassle free and really quick! Car was clean and had no issues throughout our trip. Will definitely recommend them! (I think their rates are also slightly cheaper than most car rental).

We were not able to fit all our luggages in the boot so she kindly allowed us to upgrade the car (we paid the extra), and was very patient and helpful. Appreciate her going the extra mile! Waffa in the Melbourne branch was amazing. Really helpful. Unfortunately when I called the 1800 line, it asked if I wanted a call back and they never did. We ended up walking to the branch to arrange the car hire for the next day. If I had been relying on the main line to attend to me, I'd still be waiting.

One of the best car rentals ever, I had a last minute booking and without a worry Michael behind the counter sort us out and made our day, top bloke deserve a raise, as well as the gentleman that helped us during return. 10/10 service 10/10 car, a beauty and a half of a car for a bargain. Booking was easy, Customer service was very good however car was not the car we booked it was the alternative, and not as good or have as large luggage capacity. The car was not very clean and did not have full tank of fuel upon pick up. Despite the above it represented value and suited our needs.

Good customer service (depending on the time you collect the car) If you collect during peak period, e.g Friday morning, then expect a longer waiting time. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the condition of the car as well as being upfront of all the cost

Seamless booking experience and received a bigger SUV than initially booked. Car was clean, comfy and relatively new. Managed to drive more than 2000km without any hiccups. Mileage was decent for MG HS.
