DO NOT GO HERE ! I've had a absolutely horrible experience at this dental office . After a cleaning with the hygenist she left PERMANENT SCRATCH MARKS ENGRAVED INTO THE ENAMEL OF MY TEETH . Immediately after the apnt I felt a rough surface when running my tongue over my front teeth . When I looked in the light i could see scratch marks all over my teeth from the scapel instrument the hygenist was using . When I talked to her on the phone afterwards she said that the utensils shouldn't leave scratch mark's unless the person has weaker enamel . She then went on the say that it was my own fault for not taking proper care of my teeth ! I couldn't believe this response ! I go to a professional trusting that my teeth will be taken care of and trusting that they have the knowledge /experience to take care of whatever condition my teeth are in and take just as much care and mindfulness in their treatment as I do at home with my teeth . I now have permanent scratch marks etched into the enamel of my teeth... for the rest of my life ! From one visit to this hygienist ! I cried , this is immensely upsetting , im 28 . My teeth are already sensitive and now because of malpractice from one apnt to this hygenist my teeth now have scratch marks through the surface of my enamel ! . Ive had many many cleanings in my life and until now i have never had and any scratch mark's left ALL OVER MY TEETH . To make matters worse when I spoke to the hygenist on the phone she refused to take any responsibility and denied she did ANY damage , even when I had come in earlier that day and looked at the scratch mark's clear as day with dr. Dhir ! Dr dhir did not want to admit it at first but when I took the mirror and shone light on them he finally did admit he could see the scratch marks as you cannot mistake it with the naked eye . He said I could try a polishing to see if that would help . I told him I was going to get a second opinion from another dentist first as I was nervous about more damage done to my teeth . When I saw another doctor he immediately noticed the malpractice and was also very disheartened at the sloppy job as there is not much that can be done once the enamel is scratched like this ! He told me to try and see if the polishing helps at all .. When I called dr. Dhirs office back to inquire about trying a polishing the receptionist rudely told me that they will not have me back in their office because the hygenist claimed that I was "swearing" at her when I spoke to her on the phone earlier and hung up on me . I feel like crying . Not only has this dental office ruined my teeth for the rest of my life they refuse to help me or do anything about it . I cannot believe this . Everyone I've spoken to has advised me to sue this office for malpractice and I am going to absolutely going to look into. I am very disheartened and appalled at the hygenists denial of a malpractice you can see with the naked eye . It is majorly upsetting to have permanent damage done to my teeth after one visit to someone who is meant to be taking care of them! It's a horrible feeling to know that my enamel I have been so diligent at taking care of up to this point will have scratch mark's through it for the rest of my life ! I also want to mention that dr. Dhir did a filling that left some permanent sensitivity on one of my back molars. This has been my experience with this office and to be completely honest it was downright awful . I hope they learn from their mistakes and i really hope nobody else makes the mistake of visiting their office and having permanent damage done to their teeth . Be extremely careful when visiting the hygenist Michelle . It is extremely unfortunate and I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else . I would recommend finding another dental office before it's too late . Best of luck everyone .

I went here in the springtime after a long while of no dental care. I thought my teeth were fine, but it turns out I needed a root canal! Since I finally had partial coverage from work, I agreed to go along with the procedure. With my coverage, I was told I would only need to pay out of pocket ~$200 for the procedure and a gold crown, which I wanted since I grind my teeth in my sleep. I had my teeth cleaned, and came back for another visit. I went ahead and got the pulp taken out of my tooth and went home with a temporary filling, with an appointment for the rest of the procedure to be done in a few days. This is where the trouble begins. I take the day off work, and sit in the chair. The dentist (Dr Hunter) proceeds to give the numbing shots etc and we begin the process. At this point, she tells me that she has accidentally misquoted me and that the cost is actually $1,200 !!!!! I freak out, and she says not to worry because we can just put a filling in the tooth instead. I didn't know that was even an option for root canals, but we go ahead. I felt very skeptical afterwards but paid a small sum and left. 3 days later when I finally eat a real meal, a nice soft curry, I hear a loud sound come from that tooth. I am pretty sure at this point, the tooth has cracked. I go out of town though and don't get a chance to check it out until a couple months later. This whole time I can feel a very distinct vertical line up the tooth. I call, explain, go back in, and a different doctor (Dr Alam I think) looks at my previous X-rays and says that the dentist who did my root canal 'took way too much out of my tooth', and it's 'barely a shell' and that I need a crown ASAP. So now I am very annoyed. I am not rich, so I just ask him to look at the crack and that's it. He polishes the surface of the tooth so it feels smooth, but doesn't do an x-ray or anything to double check the tooth. I also point out that every time I eat, food gets stuck between the teeth here which was never a problem before. He says its because I have another cavity so once I get that fixed that will be solved (but I never had this problem before...). Anyway. The tooth now feels smooth/fine, and I am on my way. Another couple months later I can feel that same line going up the tooth again. I can feel it with my tongue on both the inside wall and outside of the tooth, leading me to believe it is indeed cracked and has shifted positions, which is why I can feel it again after a couple months. Nobody bothered to do an x-ray to check though. I am giving 2 stars because they are very nice, and all procedures were gentle, but quite frankly it is completely unacceptable to make the customer foot the bill for a mistake that you made. All it took was a simple call beforehand saying that you accidentally misquoted me, so I would have a proper chance to assess my options. Instead I received an improper treatment and had to pay for it.

Our original dentist, for both my daughter and myself, was at the current location of EastVan Dental for many years. We were extremely happy with her. Due to a family situation, our former dentist sold her business and Dentist Komal Dhir opened his practice. We stayed with K. Dhir for the convenience of the location. It was recently that we had a terrible experience with the lady at the front desk. The lady called to collect $16 and some change from a visit in August of this year, for some error that occurred between the office and the insurance company (nothing to do with us). Even though we had been at their office after August for a visit and no one had said anything to us, the lady on the phone was rude and demanding of the monies. I told her that if those monies were indeed due, we would definitely pay them, but that it wasn't my fault they were only realizing of the error some 5 1/2 months later. On that same phone call I requested to have the appointment I had booked on a Saturday in January 2019 changed to a different date. The lady on the phone was rude and non-accommodating and really did not assist in booking an appointment until late March 2019. I requested her to have D. Khir call me to express my frustration with both the phone call and the hard time booking an appointment. I had to call some three times to finally speak with D. Khir. Eventually, and when I was able to speak with him, he clearly did not seem very keen on assisting me. He mentioned the previous front desk people (whom I mentioned were super nice), were not there because they had not been collecting the money; he said he was doing the patient "a favour" by even offering the insurance coverage through a work plan, as he had "6 franchises and a lot of work”, and that if I "could find another dental office that would take me with the group plan I was welcome to go there". He showed no appreciation for his patients (not one, but two), and seemed to be interested only in the $$$, and not in the patients, whatsoever. Well, D. Khir, sure enough, we have found another dental office in the neighbourhood that cares for their patients, whether they have an extended health plan or not, and we have switched dentists. As mentioned to you over the phone, good luck to you and your successful 6 franchises all over the Lower Mainland.

Do NOT go here! I read the negative reviews and I should have listened. My cleaning was the most rough and painful I have ever experienced, and during that appointment I was told I had 4 small cavities that weren't bad, but should be taken care of. I was given a quote and decided to move forward. At the cavity appointment staff seemed rushed - the hygienist was extremely abrupt and went to work putting in a dental dam without really explaining anything to me - I had a full on panic attack because it was so painful, and asked if the work could be done without it (which was the norm at my old dentist in Toronto). The team seemed visibly annoyed but agreed to move forward. The work took a lot longer than I was originally told it would, and at once point the dentist went in to freeze the second side of my mouth and injected the freezing seconds after the numbing cream, so it didn't even have time to work! After a very long, painful few hours, I went out to pay, and was told they actually took care of 5 cavities because "I was so anxious, it was just easier", and my bill was nearly double what i had been quoted! At no point was I asked about this additional work, it was simply done and then I was told I owed for it. More concerning yet, I was never even told I had 5 cavities to begin with, just the 4 I was shown on the Xray... not sure if a mistake was made or they discovered another cavity while filling the others, but I left feeling tricked and taken advantage of. I will never go here again!

I was pretty happy first time I visited the clinic. The environment was really nice and so was staff.. But when I tried to book second appointment for the dental cleaning and had to unfortunatelly cancel it due to getting sick the receptionist almost yelled at me that I need to give them enough of the notice. Well, if you get sick all of the sudden how big notice can you give? I haven´t visited the clinic for a year but unfortunatelly I broke part of my tooth yesterday and tried to book an appointment. I called last night but the clinic was already closed so I left a voicemail message asking if I can come in today. I called in today to check if they got my message and if I can get an appointment and I was kind of shocked how rude the receptionist was. I didn´t like the attitude, the way she spoke to me.! I get it if the clinic is fully booked but you don´t need to give me the attitude. I was so annoyed so I hung up the phone. Fortunatelly I found nicer clinic close to where I work - "Crystal Dental at Metrotown" where the doctor took care of me right away withou having any appointment and the service was excellent! I never write reviews but I got dissapointed by this clinic already twice so I felt it´s neccessary to share it! Marketa

It kind of seems weird to me I am writing a review about a dentist but I have to share about what a positive experience I had today. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Dhir clean my teeth himself as the hygienist was off that day and he took his time, getting into every nook and cranny and offering good advice as he went along. The last dentist cleaned my teeth with a super sonic water pik thing that hurt ( my sensitive teeth) and felt cheater out of a proper cleaning. He offered up friendly conversation and put my mind at ease with my concerns regarding the freezing needle. He took the time to fully examine my X-rays and pointed out something to me that I was unaware of for at least 15 years. The reception and other hygienist were also very kind and nice. What really stood out to me the most was how the entire office worked together and seemed to be like family to each other. Big time positive vibes, which is what I look for as I am terrified going to the dentist, well terrified of needles! Ill will be back ( sadly, for fillings) But I feel safe knowing I am in good hands.

Do you have a wisdom tooth? Go there they will fill your death wisdom tooth instead of extraction! First they will charge you 425 $ for filling. If you don’t feel comfortable they can give cannal treatment so they can get 1200$ more!!! I got there with a broken tooth and even didn’t know it was a wisdom tooth. So they got the x-ray and charged 80 $. It’s okay but mr. Doctor even didn’t check it!!!! So he did the filling and said if you don’t feel comfortable you will consider about cannal. After feeling I was about to die! I went north burnaby dental and they saw the x-ray they got. Doctor said that if I saw this x-ray in the beginning I would say definitely extraction because tooth is already death and it doesn’t even work. So after a horrible week they pulled it out and I relived from all my pain this guys caused! Please listen don’t go here! Never never never! It cost me extra 425 dolars. don’t waste your money don’t waste your life here!!!! I wish I could give minus star to you! Shame on you!!!!

I highly recommend EastVan Dental Clinic & Dr. Dhir! His staff is extremely friendly and helpful, going the extra mile to squeeze you in or assisting you with anything, for example insurance related issues. Dr. Dhir has a calm & gentle way and seems to be very precise and professional in what he is doing. (I say that, because I have seen quite a few different dentists so far, and some do their work in your mouth as if they’re car mechanics.) I appreciated his informative responds to any concerns and questions I had. I can relay with Paulette's comment: In case of any concerns about the dental work, he takes the time to explain what’s going on and can take away the nervousness before a procedure, which I highly value in a dentist! When I was seeing my former family dentist on a trip home, Dr. Dhirs excellent work was complimented by my long trusted former dentist - That says a lot about the quality EastVan Dental Clinic has to offer!

Best dental experience I hav ever had! I've always been afraid of the dentist because they usually cause so much discomfort or pain, and I'm often left wondering what is going on. However, this dentist (unfortunately I can't remember her name at this time) was incredibly gentle and thorough. I found it reassuring how she explained everything to me - not just what she was doing, but why. I have been able to take this new understanding home and have since been taking better care of my teeth using the new knowledge. She also went above and beyond to make sure I knew what my options were, as well as any possible implications. I love the individuals who I've worked with in the past, but I have never had a positive experience like this at the dentist before, and will be switching to their clinic. I didn't know it was possible to enjoy the dentist lol. Highly recommend!

On my frustration with the Broadway station dental center, I found Eastvan dental clinic. After having so much problems with Broadway clinic where I was a patient for more then 7 years I decided to change and luckily I found Eastvan clinic. I like their friendship with their customers, their service are 100% great. oh If you need an advise the dentist do not hesitate to provide it. I know dental clinics are so many; so that's why we got choose the best one. And if Eastvan offer me a coffee while I waiting for my son to finish his check up that says a lot. Not because of the coffee ; it means the clinic care about their customer service . yeah !!!also I like when I gets there and they said my name without telling them. Oh and when my full check up is done I feel like I got new teeth. you are awesome Eastvan

The team at EastVan Dental is amazing! The hygienists are always lovely, reception staff is great, and everyone takes care to remember details and adjust your care to your needs. I want to shout out Dr. Han, whose care has been really instrumental for me—I was having some toothaches a few years ago, and because of Dr. Han’s diligence they discovered I had a sinus cyst that ended up leading to necessary surgery. It’s clear she really cares about a patient’s whole health, not just their teeth, and I’ve been very grateful. Their staff has also been willing to make accommodations around my anxiety and sensitivity/pain, which I’ve really appreciated. They’re also flexible and transparent with me around my options when I do or don’t have insurance coverage. I’d recommend EastVan Dental to anyone!

HORRIBLE experience with the receptionist today. Called for an appointment due to severe pain Ive been experiencing. She was unhelpful and so rude! Kept speaking over me and asked about my previous dental office and responding “ well they should be helping you”. Sighing and snickering while responding. If you’re going to be so miserable don’t be working at the front desk!! Will not recommend this place. Also will be moving the family elsewhere! Why show advertisements on your website if you can’t follow through. “ We are accepting new patients, walk ins and dental emergencies” yet the receptionist either doesn’t know this or is just plain useless.

Booked an emergency dental appointment for the next day after breaking a tooth as Opencare said they had appointments available. I had to call myself before setting off to the clinic as they had not confirmed the appointment, only to find out they weren’t aware/hadn’t bothered to check. At which point they told me they had no appointments and that their booking system doesn’t know their hours or available appointment times (why use it then?). They offered me an appointment days in the future which can hardly be considered an emergency dental appointment. Just a poor and inept performance all round from their practice.

I have been to the clinic a number of times over the last couple of months-- this after not having seen a dentist in a number of years. I have been nothing but wildly impressed by the professionalism and expertise demonstrated by Dr Han and all of her team. For someone who has never been particularly comfortable visiting the dentist, I have been welcomed, respected and listened to. This is so important to me. The team is unfailingly positive and the Covid protocols, top notch. The entire group is friendly and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Big, huge thanks to the entire crew at East Van Dental!

I just landed to Vancouver a month ago and started noticing severe pain and abscess on my right cheeks due to molar teeth cavity.... Approached East Van dental clinic upon positive reviews...Very happy that I did so coz Dr. Dhir and nother lady doctor including receptionist all were very kind and polite to me... Doctor clearly explained everything to me and I got my tooth extracted without any issues and I have totally got rid of pain....If I am having any Future concerns over dental I will surely visit East Van and also would highly recommend to approach these people because they r the best

I’m a new patient with Dr. Dhir and the resident hygienist Michelle. I and my teeth were very well taken care of at every visit. Wait times at the receptionist area were minimal. I received sound advice about the health of my teeth and keeping them well. To summon up, in my experience, the service is very professional and importantly there is no pressure of having certain procedures done the choice is always mine. Finally I do not expect perfection we’re human and fallible. I do expect honesty and trustworthiness. Thus far this was met at Eastvan Dental services. Thank you.

This was my dentist for awhile. I love the dentists there. The reason I changed dentists. I got my wisdom tooth removed with the oral surgeon that comes in twice a month. I would never ever let her touch my mouth again. She was rude and I have anxiety. She did nothing to ease my mind. She just made it worse. You could tell She was getting mad. Because I was wasting her time. I'm pretty sure they rinse your mouth before surgery. That didn't even happen. Never again. Like I said in the beginning. The dentists however are very nice. So are the hygienists.

I hadn’t been to the dentists since before covid, so needed quite a bit of work done. I had all four wisdom teeth removed, two cavities filled and had to see the hygienist twice for cleaning. Everyone was super professional, all staff are friendly and I felt I was in very good hands. I had the easiest wisdom tooth removal, and healed in no time. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will be coming here regularly to maintain my teeth.

I always have a pleasant experience at this clinic, which I’ve been going to for a few years. I have found them to be very accommodating, and they always take the time to explain my options to me and suggest appropriate treatment plans. I was also happy to see the measures in place to operate safely during the pandemic, and I felt quite comfortable during my visit.

I walked in to the clinic with no appointment in absolute pain with an emergency and they managed to scoot me in ASAP. Dr Sethi was so thoughtful and honest with me and her dental assistant that day even held my hand when I got a little freaked out during the procedure. Absolutely wonderful staff and doctors. Look forward to returning as a regular patient. :)

The customer service and dentist were amazing, the hygienist was inexperienced and talks a lot. I’ve done my teeth there a couple of times, first with her. The whole process was uncomfortable and quite painful, I kept telling her that it was painful and she was just telling me to hold the tube in my mouth. Never experienced pain or discomfort before.

I haven't been to a dentist in Vancouver since moving from Toronto and I was recommended East Van Dental. I had the best first experience, they have such a warm friendly staff and the most knowledgeable caring Dentists. I'm looking forward to continuing my dental care here.
