You can reach Eau Claire Market & Park in downtown Calgary by crossing the bridge from Prince’s Island Park. Helen Pike of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation wrote an article in 2018 entitled “Newly opened West Eau Claire Park offers promenade along Bow River.” The West Eau Calir Park took about one and a half years to build, and it links the Peace Bridge with the downtown area. You can see the Peace Bridge from this community Park. If you are lucky, you can see Canada Geese, ducks, and beavers at this Park. Also, public art may be viewed here. This was a 10.6 million dollar enterprise whose foundational purposes were to lessen flooding incidents and to have a place for Calgarians to meet, greet and more. This riverfront park on the Bow River’s south bank is a place to walk, jog, cycle, and observe the river. Thie area at the Park is mainly paved and could be an easy walk for most people.

Ahhh, poor old Eau Claire Market. Soon to be demolished to make way for the Green Line. I find this reality a little bitter sweet. I've been coming to the mall for over 20 years and I have a lot of fantastic memories there with friends and visiting all of the eclectic shops, the Cineplex Theatre, many eateries (lots of change there, but a few classics are still in the food court), practicing my running, drinking coffee, and these days donating my blood/plasma. Currently the mall is pretty empty, but it is clean and there is still a variety of small shops and food to be had. Check it out before it's gone forever!

I love Eau Clair Market!! It’s a fun market to see with unique shops and awesome hip foodie restaurants and patios for summer fun. Includes a small grocery to grab fruits and veggies or snacks if your staying at the hotels in the area. Movie theatre for rainy days and after a market stroll it is steps away from lovely Princes Island where you can enjoy a nature walk. Often many outdoor live music or fun city festivals or activities going on in this hot spot! Usually plenty of like scooters around to grab for a fun zip too.

We've come to Eau Claire Market a couple times this month as we discovered it will be demolished next year in the spring. It's unfortunate to see this mall somewhat empty though the current merchants are doing the best they can to continue business. I sat at Good Earth and observed the friendly chatter of the owner with other mall merchants. I like that family feeling between them. I recommend this mall: support the merchants while they're doing their bit to serve the community. Thank you Mo for a good latte.

I've only ever visited Calgary a couple of times, and both times been to Eau Claire Market. Its easy walking distance from downtown and seems like it has big potential but is 'odd'. It makes me feel I've been transported somewhere post-apocalyptic, or to an alternative communist Canada from the 1970s. That said, I'm someone who's visited derelict theme parks, I enjoyed the unusual ambiance. Great place if you want to avoid crowds. There are some good food places, a cinema, and a great bicycle store.

  • Chelsey Patrick

This is the most random collection of shops and food court options. I went to donate blood upstairs and looked around prior to my appointment...it seemed like a post apocalyptic mall. I really don't know what else to say about it. If you're looking for incense, some plants, to have a bike repaired, look at some art, get a psychic reading, maybe this is your place to go. There really wasn't much there and it was super random! It's too bad, this used to be kind of a cool place about 20 years ago.

Absolutely charming mall, but very sad that it's half empty. Every store I saw was unique and interesting, and I hope that this place can pick up new tenants post pandemic. Unique places like this are vital parts of culture. I love the aesthetic, which some may say is dated, but I find delightfully retro. A small place like this feels way more welcoming and diverse than big, monochromatic malls like Chinook centre.

I gotta be honest. It's a pretty bad mall. There are not a lot of good stores and they have always struggled to get enough business. Putting a mall downtown seemed like a great idea in theory, but when it opened they realized that downtown was the last place most people wanted be on the weekend. It was a bit of an oopsie. Eau Claire Market is a good place to go if you hate big crowds, like at Chinook Centre.

The fact they are tearing this down for the green line is a travesty, especially while public transportation is losing money/ under supported. Are we going to lose this land mark, for a train folks fought for, just so people won't use it? There had to have been a way to preserve this cultural institution, while also better helping improve our transit system for all Calgarians. I'm gunna miss the old girl

You will find stores here that you will not find at any other mall in the City. Filled with authentic goods, ranging from Egyptian to steam punk, if it is specific and ethnic that you seek, you will be happily surprised. Ample parking underground and on the streets, teamed with the location around it makes it a unique mall experience for a leisure shopper.

  • Eilleen V

Not really a great "shopping destination" (too small and the few stores there are pretty random/niche)... But it is still a cute little mini-mall with a gym, food court, theater and a couple of cafes. Hosts plenty of neat events and is just generally a nice little place for those who live in the downtown core.

OMG, unbelievable i was been there in canada and was been shop at islands food shop, bought a sonic pop for my son, their price is $2.99 but they changed me $4 in cash. I complained they yelled me and said dont buy leave what the ..... i really like this mall but now unbelievable so mad

  • Tyler M

Open concept, right beside Princess Island Park/ Bow River. Lots of shops and spaces to hang out. Mall and surrounding area is great for night life and a good stroll. Dinner and a movie are great options here. Heart of downtown or a very good accompanying destination to go too.

  • Eduardo Arellano

Went couple of times already to the Canada blood clinic to donate, great they have free parking underground just elevator is very old feel worry every time I use it, my wife is pregnant is the only reason we use it but hope no one get trap there.

  • Jonathan Dardon

Nice central place. For a mall, I don't think you should have to pay for parking though - you're giving them your business the least they could do is provide free parking... I'm sad to here that this place may be demolished for the greenline.

  • Josh of CYWG

Didn’t buy anything, just went in to check it out and left after 10 minutes. The place is absolutely dead, there was only about 15 people in the store including the staff. Decor was straight from the 90’s and the places that were there were

Nice place. Stopped in at the marble slab. Kid working counter was sniffing and whipping nose with hand. He was so sick. No way I was getting ice cream from there. No one that sick should be allowed to work anywhere they have to touch food.

  • Miranda H

This mall has never been able to hold any large tenants other than the movie theatre so most of the shops are independently owned and a little eclectic. Food court does fairly well for itself with the lunch crowd. One unique feature is the

  • Jen fer

There's basically nothing in here. It mainly benefits from being in a location close to the waterfront. A decent food court and grocery are highlights. There's also a candy shop that sells bulk. A spot to relax but not really for shopping.

  • CY Siu

Although not a place for shopping, a lot of good events come here. Its a very spacious place with a standard (nothing special) food court. Washroom here is fairly clean also. There is a cineplex and goodlife here..the main establishments.

  • Phil Wilson

I give this place five stars because I've only had memorable times there. From the movies to the food court, the pancake breakfasts and bike to work day events out side. Our office even rented work space there during an important part of

  • Todd schmekel

How is this place open? There’s very few stores in it and what is there isn’t going to appeal to the average person. Big Egyptian gift shop that’s kinda cool. But overall there’s no reason to go here unless you like frustrating parking

  • Foreverblue

How is this place still around? It’s mostly vacant spaces or bizarre shops that have no customers in them. I can’t imagine what the rent must be here. Pretty sure it’s just the theatre and the coffee shop keeping this building going.

  • Kirk Dewhurst

This indoor market is unique. The store is well lit and clean but has a smell of incense. There is a cineplex movie theatre, 6 screens. The stores for the most part are niche. It’s kind of a neat place but I doubt I will visit again.

  • oluwaseun oluwabiyi

A mini community market place boasts of various amenities from food to clothing, groceries, healthcare, gym and off course a cinema. Whatelse could you ask for? Located in the heart of Calgary downtown and close to China town.

  • Anansi W

Due to 2 years of covid lock down the place has been lacking the hustle and bustle, but it still has space to grow again. It is an amazing spot for family to gather, and the food is really good. Love to see new business move.

  • Amanda Hamell

Love this in play area on a cold day. Right by the river so easy to have a quick walk before heading inside to warm up. Play area is a playground with slides and bark. Changing area in the bathroom was nice and roomy.

  • Stephen Franchuk

The mall seemed very vacant and there seemed to be lots of empty stores. Not sure how this mall is still around. The 2nd level of the mall is professional offices. Lots of parking outside of the mall which was nice!

  • Benjamin Diet

Looked like a refurbished prison. Weird. Shops and fast-food places close early, so not to much choice if you go there to watch a movie. But there are plenty of shops to buy weird Egyptian stuff, so there's that...

  • Richi Plana

I LOVE this place! Very quaint atmosphere. The retailers are not your usual fare. Quite esoteric, as a matter of fact. They've got a few hidden gems in their fast food area. Outside park is gorgeous all year round

  • Carina Kwok

It's a half empty mall as tenants have moved out. The Canadian blood services main donation centre is here, along with a Cineplex theatre. There are reasons to come here, it's just not fabulous for browsing.

  • Saga Anderson

The mall has seen busier times, but still has lots of interesting stores. Parking available indoors or outdoors, and is free if you donate blood at the Canadian Blood Services centre on the second floor.

  • Stephanie Wright

Great little mall, I love supporting the little local shops. I go there to donate blood most often but it's a good spot for food and I highly recommend Grandma's Kitchen, I always have to get a sandwich!

  • Jennifer Beswick-Arthur

I remember this place from 2001 when it was bustling. Now it is sort of sad. It does have some of the best cheap Thai food you've ever had. Also go here to donate blood. Movie theater is usually empty.

  • Guided Intelligence

Great Bar and restaurant.. the inside has many cool stores and unique restaurants and clothing stores. Indoor play place, right in the food court for your children Movie theater upstairs!! Was fun..

  • Guy Davis

Will miss this old place when they tear it down. I'm regularly here to donate blood and catch a movie with my family. The little playground was a big hit with my boys when they were little.

  • Jean-Michel de BRETIGNY

A go to stop over destination when planning to walk along Bow River Prince's Island. EAU CLAIRE MARKET is offers a shopping adventure. With multiple restaurant options to choose from.

  • Mustangofold

The only thing remaining of interest in this mall is the Egyptian jewelry shop. Great potential and it was vibrant in the early days, but downtown rent and parking have killed it.

  • Mark Hubley

Went to Joey's, great food, drink and service. Greeted at the door with champagne... easy to see why it's so full/popular. A great place to catch-up with an old friend.

  • Jessica Oliphant

I can imagine this place was bumping back in the day, but now it just seemed sad, there were very few shop slots full, and of the ones that were, very few were open.

  • Silver Wong

There is a good Chinese restaurant and the taste is very good. I tried the beef, vegetable and rice. The boss is a real Chinese. He and his wife are very friendly.

  • brian chapman

Very sad. Inside the market hardly anything left and not very many people. Lots of construction around the outside of the building making it not easy to navigate.

  • Dean Duniece

The outdoor patio for the sushi /Italian restaurant was very nice and quiet, perfect for an intimate mid afternoon date with my wife on a beautiful autumn day

  • Daniel Angevine

If it wasn't for Canada blood services I would never enter this mall. It's dead, and just filled with odd knick knack stores. The theatre is well past prime

  • Jeff S

I never got further than the parking lot. I was dropping off a friend to pick up their car from a night before, you know the whole no drinking and driving

  • Moraima Caceres-Centeno

STop by to donate blood, so glad to have a dried and warm parking lot. Mall looks empty, I guess since is going to be demolish, the vibe there is low.

  • Karla McNally

I love the 90s retro vibe to this centre and the eccletic array of shops and restaurants. My favourites here are the candy store and the movie house.

  • Claus Thiim

Be careful locking your bike. A very poor choice of location over top of the large ventilation grate. Seems like a perfect way to lose dropped keys.

  • Steve Learmonth

I only go here to go to the Canadian Blood Services clinic. The whole place is slated for demolition next year to make room for the Green Line LRT.

  • Bon Duck

Good for an ice cream after being in the hot sun for hours , not very many shops though. But a really nice an quite mall compared to Sunridge

  • Jon A

I will be sad when this mall closes permanently. I have lots of fond memories here, and it's always been an anchor for me downtown.

  • Marcus H!!

Eau Claire is trendy and happening and has several stores. All of this right on Calgary's river front on the North end of downtown.

  • Sofi CB

Great location, so sad it's getting demolished. Go to the Thai place in food court, Solumo lounge and Cineplex before they close!

  • Rob Jessop

It's not what it used to be but then it's days are getting numbered. I was there for its heyday and it was a fun place

  • Ryan Gustafson

Great little market. Wish there were more little shops, but a great place to take a break and get some good eats.

  • Jacob Sheppard

Mostly a great place for events and markets. Mall is so so, but there’s always something going on in the summer.

  • Gord Holland

Has a few special shops and a movie theater. Some good food. At 6pm at night during the week it's a ghost town.

  • Heidy Your guide

A great exoerience at the cinema, however, the mall is the same, empty without any specific attraction.

  • Dilraj Suri

Went to go donate blood. The market is dead full of drug addicts getting high in the entrance ways.

  • Jodi Shepherd

This market used to be filled with energy and music. So sad to see it is now very quiet and empty.

  • Max Eidsvik

Sad to hear this place is closing and I will need to do my blood donations at another location.

  • Lane Larochelle

The place is pretty run down, lots of not so desirable stores, great location but crumby place.

  • Ajinkya Jadhav

It's really a great place to have video calls and watch movie theater in addition with food!

  • Red Starr

Interesting little mall with novelty shops some restaurants, food court and a movie theatre.

  • ERIC LEE

Calgary’s Granville Island. However, not much going on. Quiet mall. Has indoor playground.

  • Joey Hertling

Once was cool long long ago , just winding down , not much of anything to find inside

  • Ian bartlett

It's looking empty now, a few good stores and services, shame it's closing next year

  • Therese Bianca

Gonna be so sad if they demolished it. I go here for forex and Thai food

It was like seeing my old Friend from years past, the walk was awesome
