Talk about a real shock to many , seeing the decline to a city centre for shopping over the years, especially since after whatever debauchery caused by COVID shut down as well any downtown department stores . What I will share is frequently being a patron to various stores available. I've always received great service. Another thing to add is the now regular use of several EPS officers teamed up with the mall's security team . Honestly it's a step in the right direction for helping anyone unfortunately feeling in danger . Hoping the merchants currently occupied have gained increase to their business traffic . I'm still and probably will be a person to shop in person.
This is a great empty space to run around in. The lack of shops and shoppers makes it feel very airy and bright. They moved the food court upstairs, and sadly, I didn't find out until I was already on my way out. The lack of pedestrian traffic makes for safe viewing of security dealing with people they find undesirable. There are plenty of places to hide and watch, and you always have a clear view of a way out in case you are spotted. I highly enjoyed the 10 minutes I spent here, and the three tweekers being escorted out. Granted, I was there on a Saturday. This was much more exciting than shopping on Amazon.
Mall is big, clean with lots of shopping options. Food court is clean & has many different Cuisines to choose from. The mall connects you to many other buildings in downtown, without having to go outside, especially during Winter. The elevators & escalators are very conveniently placed. Generally crowded during lunch time on week days, because of office goers throng the place for their food/drinks. After 4 pm, a bit deserted & some of the outlets close by 3 pm itself. Shopping options are very good. Definitely worth visiting. Well secured place.

City is on life support the dead are running the streets, the people are not God loving people,it's dramatic Edmonton doesn't know the meaning of Pioneerrs or hospitality. If you ask for something simple like water they will call the police on you.and the police on the other hand is dramatic to if you sleep in your RV or car in a park they will show up 6 in 3 car's and evicte you from the park parking. This is Edmonton
As of November 2023 city centre mall is experiencing very low occupancy, there's hardly any stores on the west (theatre) side which is unfortunate. You have to pay to park to access this mail as well as there is no free parking, or transit to it. They also changed a lot of the mall, they took out stores to add parking in the basement level and removed the lower pedway joining the two sides of the mall.
This is a very big shopping mall in downtown Edmonton. The mall is very big and there are a number of various shops. The rather inconvenient thing is that most of the shops do not open till later than 12 pm. This is not something to be expected of a mall of this size. When you enter the mall at 11am, which is not very early, it really feels like deserted.
I've worked downtown in the past and honestly I still feel safe shopping here. It's unfortunate the number of businesses closing shop, but it's the same in other Canadian cities. I bus it so I have an issue with the bus stops being several blocks away instead of in front as they once were. Other than that I still enjoy coming downtown and shopping.
Rather depressing downtown shopping centre with very low occupancy rate. The bright side is it offers connectivities to near by buildings and shelter for cold weather. Downside is homelessness in this mall and seeing security guards even in washrooms. Mall is relatively safe and a small food court is available at top floor.
Had a good time, there is a great deal to see and do, plan a whole day minimum to see the sites, play in the amusement park, go skating in the rink, every food you could want is in there. I was told to go during the week that it's busy on the weekends, so I went during the week and didn't wait anywhere, which was nice.
they had a great mall a few years back but the additional parking that pushed good restaurants out of the food courts and business out. there is only 1 elder woman who cleans the food court plus Crack heads love to hang out there. but security dose a good job with them wish there was more stores
Go here quite often as I live downtown. Always clean. A lot of the undesirables don't hang around as much as before. I've also noticed much more police presence. Winner's is my favorite, hope they don't close this location. Still missing the Bay …
There's nothing here! Literally I would guess that 75% of the store spaces are empty. That said, the food court is fully operational and it is a nice quiet, indoor space to get some steps in. It's also very clean, and the washrooms are spotless.
The City Centre Mall has become quite rough in the last few years. There are less stores and many homeless people will roam around until they get ushered out by security. Outside the mall it will be quite sketchy so I'd avoid during late night.
There is alot of places inside, almost a one stop shop. Everything from furniture down to medication. You have a cheap place to get your treats with the dollar store. With the lack of Tim Hortons in there it's alright. Lots of places to eat
Ohh how this placed have become like a ghost town when its not a business hour in the downtown core.. even then I'm being nice... the city really needs to revamp the downtown to make this place a go to place again. For everyone especially
You can tell that city planners are doing their very best. The buildings and lighting is something to boast about. Did I feel safe after the PBR from Rogers Place, walking to the YMCA parking lot? Not for a hot minute. The pedways were
Being in the city centre this mall has nothing to offer. Subpar food court with little to no businesses in it. The only thing good about it is the lack of crowd and music making it a good place to walk with the sensory overload like wem
Well with the police walking around with a security guard, gives it the extra security needed I guess. Makes it feeling more safer then just having a security guard walking around alone. Makes who ever sees that think twice, I guess.
I went to this mall in 2009 and 2010. I miss this mall - the atmosphere is cool and it's a very vertical tall mall with a food court at the bottom, definitely good memories here from being a teenager mall rat hanging with friends lol
Bunch of sketchy, shady and homeless looking individuals wandering around. Lots of security around the mall. Mall is fairly empty and not really anything to do. Safety would be a concern if you're a vulnerable individual by yourself.
Edmonton City in Autumn. A walk to a very nice park close to the Alberta Legislation Building to see the leaves change. I think it will be nice to share a few moments with yellow trees, green glasses, and red flowers.
It is very big and clean. I felt sad most stores are closed till 12 pm. We enjoy the location as we are visiting from Ontario and Calgary. I hope next visit will see many people shopping around …
Its fine but there's so much homeless. Hard to avoid them. There's better malls. Theater is great ! Just use the hotel entrance so you don't have to go through the mall if you don't have to.
Convenient enough location with lots of options, but there are plenty of empty stores and bathrooms constantly under maintenance. Pee before you come to this mall.
One of the few closed malls in Edmonton. Not very successful, because it has a lot of free spaces. It is nice and has a few good stores.
Good food court. Nice place to stay warm but a fair amount of vacancies. Hopefully that changes one day cause it has potential.
Lots of good stores to see food court was grea. Come and visit you’ll find what you want here.
I work here. You will usually see a lot of corporate traffic mixed with a lot of wanderers.
