This store used to be okay. Now it has been a disappointment these past two visits. About last week I had a bad experience due to the customer service. The cashier was a male who was rude and careless about how he handled my groceries. He was tossing my things in bags with a attitude and in a rush. For instance he threw a melon in the same bag with my eggs. I told her m to be careful when bagging my things or I can do it myself and he ignored me not sure if he even understood me to be honest. So I asked for management and the manager be the name Noelia was just as incompetent as the cashier after letting her know how the cashier was treating us she had no response. She didn't say she'd speak to the guy or address the problem. Not to mention I visited again on September 19,2022 and purchased salmon and it smelled disgusting and was raw. This is the 2nd time I've bought seafood and the last time the shrimp was raw so be careful purchasing the seafood and also don't forget to check the tortillas they have mold in them. I bought 2 packs and they both were full of mold.
The bakery department is going from bad to worse! I am the type of person to take a cake every Sunday to grandma's house, and El Rancho was my #1 choice for bakery. I want to say that in the past 5 months, their cakes have been going down hill. Even when the baker claims the cakes are fresh, they're really NOT! The 3 leches cakes are only partially wet in the center, the ends are hard! Their chocoflan has NO TASTE! Their white cakes are just whatever...nothing compared to what they used to be at least half a year ago! The décor is horrible! They ruined my sons Lego cake and pretended the frosting was not helping it stay together!! Lame!! Like I said, they USED to be my #1 choice for their taste, presentation and texture on cakes. Now they are my least favorite!
My friend baptized her baby the same day as her 1st birthday. She order a two-tier cake and 24 cupcakes. She asked if I could pick it up. As I was asking for it, three employees told me "no, without the receipt, we won't give you the cake". They would not accept to talk with my friend to confirm the details of the order. They would not accept a picture of the receipt. They would not even accept a copy of the receipt. The wanted the original, a huevo! My friend does not live close to this store on Walnut Hill. We will not order from this bkery again ND definitely would not recommend anyone else doing so. I strongly recommend buying at other places where these people work.
El Rancho Supermercado is exactly that, a Mexican/Latin market. This is about as Latin as it gets. For Latin folks, it’s very, very popular! You can find almost anything Latin here. In general, this all Latin markets can be slightly priced a bit lower than your run of the mill Krogers oh the “mundo”! This specially on the produce. Don’t get me wrong, for I love Kroger, but for anything Mexican/Latin, this is one of the many places to go. As how the demographics work, this Latin markets are only found where they make more sense! Or where there is more demand.
Store 4 stars but thanks to MGMT 2 Would receive more but like the comment below, the manager and supervisors act rude toward customers. I lined up to the register and the cashier walks away not sure if she saw but a lady in some kind of leadership position also saw and just kept walking instead of trying to call the cashier. She just gives a look of I don't care. The cashier did turn around but it's once she noticed. The meat, bakery, produce, and general merchandise are good. I haven't purchased from seafood and restaurant.
Gosh they have everything here. Only been to this store but just a couple of times. The prices are pretty comparable. It's cool that they have like a little place inside where you can eat and you can get different flavored juices. I went on a Sunday afternoon and was trying to figure out what was going on because it was extra crowded. Especially at the meat counter, didn't realize you had to take a ticket because I just walked up and it took forever, so I just opted to get something that was already packaged.
Theirs this guy at the meat area that was very rude I told him that I wanted taco meat but he was being rude because he couldn't hear me and he tried to tell me next time I come to order correctly because he's saying no es carne Para tacos but in English it clearly says taco meat . I'm hoping that his day just wasn't good and that his attitude isn't really like that but he really embarrassed me infront of the other people and my husband it was my first time ever shopping there and it will be my last.
Yesterday I went to the food area and there were two employees; one dispatching a customer and the other was doing nothing. I was in the line and when it was my turn I asked the lady if they had tamales, she told me to go to the other lady who was busy. Behind me was another customer, and the lady who I had first asked for help just talked with him for 5 minutes and gave him food without charging him anything. She then asked if I needed anything. So disappointed with the service.
Worst experience not one person knew how to speak English ..when I got to the check out lane a lady came up to me asking to buy her a coffee like who in their right mind would ask for coffee if it was food then that would be diffrent ,I told someone she was walking around began people they didn't bother to remove her from the store she only continued to walk around showing her Starbucks coffee to everyone the cashier lady was absolutely unhappy also I can imagine why .
I just went for cans, veggies and fruits (of which they didn't have much variety of) for the first time. The stench of death was overtaking all over the store. Like when a rat dies and stays there for days I'm pregnant so I had to look for the restrooms trow up and then leave the place. Got a few things that we really needed on my way out but most likely will stick to Kroger and only come back for some ethnic/latino food ingredients.
Love the authentic Mexican flare food at the deli here! 4 stars in my restaurant book!!! And Marcella the cashier/server behind the counter is sooo awesome, very sweet and professional and accommodating to the customer. My Spanish is lousy but she understands my English very well and can get exactly what I want to order. The prices are pretty good here too. I'll always come back here, the food is delicious!!!
Like any store you should know your prices. Not everything is priced low. I usually go for sale items only. They do have good meat specials advertised. If what you want isn't on sale it might be in a week or two. I get my Mexican cheeses here also. I sometimes get my favorite snack, chicharones, but they are almost never on sale and are not particularly affordable.
Pretty cool place to find mexican foods and snacks. I their horchata from aguas frescas and was very yummy. Also found all the typical veggetables, a bunch of Mexican brands for salsas, spices, and other foods. Definitely check it out if you’re looking to cook any mexican dish or simply looking for specific snacks when you’re home sick.
Update 11/5/2020. Reopened yesterday after one year. Was destroyed by tornado on Oct 22 last year. Same great products. Mexican food deli, real meat market, wipe fish and shellfish sekection. Great ptoduce. Really great Hispanic market. Great seafood and meat market. Hot food delivery is awesome. Grilled chicken meal is a fantastic buy!
Great produce selection. Has a few benches inside to sit and eat if you choose to purchase a ready made meal at their little deli area. When I say deli I mean a Mexican deli. Think more tortillas and less roast beef. Overall clean store. Wednesday's are the days you can get extra special sales in produce department.
If you are Hispanic you'll love it. If not, you will find that there are a number of things they don't have. Don't go there looking for Provolone cheese. Tom Thumb has several varieties of it. I'm sure they might have some things there that you might not find at Aldis. The place is clean and well stocked.
A very nice store but it need to have this new water called clear ice water it have about 10 favor. It's getting sold for 50.cent bottle it's a tall bottle and it's just good. Please order some 4 me every one is buying it. Thank u so much please get in touch with me when u get it.
The company is a thief they put one price on items then changed on the register cause it had 2 different ones they need to trained people to do there job right otherwise honor the price that you mistakenly put that’s your fault not mine and management is rude as hell
DIDN'T GO INSIDE BECAUSE THE SMELL OF FRESH CORN HIT ME N OMG!! THAT CORN WITH BUTTER CHEESE N SOUR CREAM WAS SOOOO AMAZING!! OMG!! IT WAS GREAT!! I WENT BACK THE NEXT DAY....WOW!! I REALLY NEED THESE IN DETROIT!! PLZ TRY IT!! U WILL NOT B DISAPPOINTED I PROMISE!!
The queue is always amazingly long here. I wouldn't go here if Spanish is not your native language because English comes secondary with much of the labeling and announcements. That said, the fresh produce is good but name brand items are few and far between.
Perfect for any Mexican! Love this place! It's like going to the supermarket in my home town! It is not your plastic/perfect American style of grocer! It's a bit rougher if you are not used to how the rest of the world works! And prices are always right!
Terrible service the cashier at the deli is terrible at checkout does not know what order you have. He messed up then threw a tantrum went to the back kicking the door since he hates having to call a supervisor on the intercom. Not going back!
Update your times! it’s so annoying. The store was clean, lots of fresh produce and good prices. The staff is nothing but kids who just kept staring at people and snickering like they had something to say. So rude, respect your elders. …
They have pretty good produce, nice meat choices , they have a tortilla factory! Deli is pretty decent, the aguas frescas are a must, extensive dairy products to choose from, they sale fresh tamales, but they don't sale beer...
Its great but not exelent because the pros are that it has a eating area if you work nearby you can just go eat there and it also have bigger food variety in the store but the coms are there not many people at the cash register
Everyone should stop at El rancho's they have plenty of cashiers it's very clean great people working there you're so helpful we need help stores are not the same especially carnival they only have two cashiers it's terrible
A plate of food, a bucket of roasted chicken, fresh cut fruits, fresh baked sweet breads, some cakes, fresh produce, seafood, or meat cuts it has everything you need weather making dinner or just a quick bite to go.
The bakery choices are overwhelming . Checkout speed seems to be the only downfall .( I honestly don't mind waiting a few extra minutes) this store has pretty darn good prices (weekly ads are a plus) …
When they first opened way back when. I made a stop there and never ever went back... this was about 5 or so yrs or so. Nasty produce that will last one day. Roach infested and sorry customer service.
The manager saw me in the line waiting for help, and instead to ask the associate to help me "he place his order"........ Really? Thanks to Carlos he was very help full (that is why the 5 stars)
I love this store just wish they would make this pan dulce called BESOS they teased me with them now everytime I go on the weekend I never find them lol other than that they are a awesome store
Helpful, friendly staff. Checkout lines can get pretty long, I'm not sure why they don't open more lanes when this happens. Bakery is great and prepared food is serviceable, but not the best.
We have been eating at this location for years and suddenly they have been serving our plates very poorly and only 3 tortillas. We are a hungry crew and not coming back to this location.
Great selection of products. I shop here every now and then when I get to this part of town. They also have a pre cooked lunch menu which I have tried. Reasonably priced and tastes good.
The store just recently reopened. Well stocked, but also lots of people... Very crowded, but that may have just been because it was a Sunday afternoon. Good deal on roast chicken!
It is a New Store, very Clean, well organized, well priced as Weekly Ad. Enough cashiers, & help. I was very impressed. I'd come back but it's not near where I live. My loss
Soon as you walk in at lunch time... the fresh made food will tempt you. Better buy what you need and get out before you spend all your dollars on that fresh yummy goodness.
is the poorest quality. When you buy fruit and the next day is rotten, they selling junk. but sorry for people who buy there. think about saving pennies, bad for you health.
Very dirty place. Produce shelves were dirty. Floor was dirty. And it smelled like rotting meat. Love the food, and sweet bread, but not a very clean place to shop.
Mexican good lover's paradise. The produce selection is amazing, and I've never seen such a vast selection of fresh and dried peppers. A good spot for lunch too.
disgrace this place is run by indians not my people (mexicans) this place is worst than fiesta nowonder their tortillas are cheaply made never coming here again.
Good location with sufficient parking. I went there to purchase some plantains and they were not as good as the ones I get from Fiesta on spring valley.
I'm so very excited that they responded an remolded after the Toronto last year. Eveyone is always friendly. They have good prices on meats an produce
I love the Ranchos groceries but try to go early to this one. Because even do is new the aisles are crowded other than that its otay …
It stinks like Mexico here, it always feels crowded and dirty, and it's hard to find regular store brands you'd find at a kroger or walmart even.
Disappointed they didn't have nothing ready but left over from yesterday in containers wanted caldo fawk them lost a customer going to La Azteca
Fresh veggies and fruit, plenty of Mexican food ingredients. Pantry basics and at great prices. Great service. And...they have self check out!!
I go there mostly for the flour tortillas that you finish cooking they come out like homemade since I am no longer able to make them due to RA.
Stopped here on my way to a pool party for beverages. Place is very decent. Lot of stuff crammed into a fairly small store. Friendly people.
I went to buy Hatch green chili, but they don't have any green chili. Just jalapeno peppers. Prices were a little high compared to Walmart
I usually go there to get soap for laundry and other stuff you can't find or that are more expensive at Walmart. Check out if fairly fast
Manager of Store, Maria, was Very helpful WITH a pricing issue which occurred. Maria showed great diplomacy in resolving the situation.
Great store and the employees are very friendly! The only thing i dont like are the long lines but that is at every store in this area.
There are so many options, fresh food, fruits and veggies, pan dolce! Plus, the varieties of marinated and plain meats to choose from!
Good, quality meat, esp their chicken selections. Produce can be a bit iffy though. Baked items seem overpriced, but are good quality.
Too small and packed with people!!!!! Other than that its ok. I come here for the little cell phone place. Great prices and worth it!
Really nice organized except on the bakery we waited for someone to help us for 10 minutes they were just walking around and talking
It has good offers in some stuff but in some others like the bone-in pork sirloin chops previously frozen, I'm totally disappointed.
This rancho is very well organized and the employees are very helpful. Check the weekly ads people always great deals on bulk meat.
Close to home my go to for a common item early in the morning in and out, great place for Pan Dulce (Mexican sweet bread).
Cafe: Great tamales! Quesadilla is pretty good as well...large portions! Store: pure junk food everywhere...makes me sad!
It's a small stored but it has lots of stuff that are hard to find, like those roasted Chile de árbol and saksa Buffalo.
Varied selection, notvenough space to move around. You will get your car dent or scratch by one of the careless patrons.
Went during a Snow storm and was very surprised to have found everything I needed and the store was very clean as well.
I shop very often and you cannot beat their prices. Things are cheap here, they even beat Walmart. Highly recommend.
Not much of an variety of things need to go to two different type of stores in order to get everything on your list
I like this place has alot a good deals every time has chance to dallas I usually go to this rancho super market
Love the cake sweet bread fresh cut cheese, meats and fresh seafood great products and prices for a big family.
I go here to get my groceries because it is way more affordable than other stores. They always have great deals
Went to the bakery. They had a fairly good selection of Mexican pastries, but they don't have good cuernitos.
Its very crowded. Not many registers open. I always get a headache when we come. dont really come here thoe
Been going here since I was able to talk and walk, NO OTHER ETHNICITY ASIDE FROM HISPANIC IS ALLOWED
The best breakfast tacos in Dallas, and inexpensive. Try my favorite, barbacoa in a corn tortilla!!!
A not real big hispanic market. Produce quality isn't quite as good as some other hispanic markets.
Brand new store for our neighborhood. Clean, friendly staff. Great prices. So happy they are here.
The food is fresh at the deli. Also, check out the baked goods. The staff is friendly and helpful.
It's cool and I went there alot of times with my mom and yea that's all I can say bye …
It's always clean and the staff/workers are always polite and that's why I love shopping there.
Good quality produce.Huge selection of mexican foods, pottery, knickknacks.Good meat selection

Love the produce dept and the Goya assortment of products. Keep up the good work guys
Great meat selection ,but service is slow . Only 2 registers open . So have patience.
One of my favorite stores always a lot of special. Great place for shopping grocery.
easy to find stuff and fairly reasonable pricing and great sales from what I saw
Average shop with less options. I have visited better al rancho stores before.
It's very crowded and the service her is poor!! The meat market takes for ever
Very expensive! I'll stick with Wal Mart unless I need fresh meat and produce
Great groceries. Love the papaya. The corn. The cheeni. All great all around
Great food great tamales everything you need you’ll definitely find it here.
Horrible dios service, bad attitude since the manager and the service people
Umm no there stuff way to overpriced why are America products so expensive
