I booked massage on 30th of December with Elaia spa. That comes with complementary use of pool and steam room. I came early to enjoy pool. My massage appointment was at 4-45 PM and I came 2-20 PM. The locker rooms were very clean but locker was very small and my winter jacket and backpack hardly fit. Also, not enough chairs to change. Many people have to take their clothes and have to step out to dress up standing. Pool was very crowded and there were 4 different couples with 2 kids each. It was nightmare because even jumping/diving is not allowed this kids made a disneyland there. I was only one adult by myself and felt like squeezing myself in the pool and kids would throw their toys around me and splashing so close to my face even I swam in my own lap. Their parents were sitting on the phone and didn't care. Didn't see any member staff making them a notice not to jump/dive. Then FIRE ALARM went on. I was swimming and everybody start leaving pool area. I got out of the pool went all the way to my locker and grab my stuff and went to corridor when spa person told me to go back and dress up. I end up dressing being fully wet, almost broke my nails and amount of stress I got. I came downstairs last. At this point I could simply leave home and not wait. But I decided to wait. In 15 min they let everybody in but nobody apologized or explained what happened. Then I had excellent massage with Sarah! I really enjoyed it as well as relaxation area. At the checkout I ask what happened and told that I was extremely overwhelmed dressing in rush, almost broke my nails. And then when they let us in back in spa area I was putting wet swimsuit again. Ewwww. Unpleasant. And said that I could leave home when I was in lobby but decided to wait. I was hoping for some sort of reimbursement or discount because when I had chance I could leave. But I decided to stay and be responsible for massage appointment I had. No appreciation. But I was very stressed by this incident. Check out person explained pipe bursted outside but I didn't see any regret of inconvenience and stress it caused me. I live in downtown so I was hoping to make this my monthly spa retreat but I just got disappointed how unprofessionally situation was handled. I end up asking at the check out.
Excellent services, facilities, and #DAVOSsafe air cleaning. Really nice way to spend an afternoon. My wife and I have been treating ourselves here since 2019. The masseuses I’ve had are all very skilled, welcoming, and attentive to requests. She also goes here for mani-pedis and facials and always has a great experience. The prices are better than average for this standard of service (compare the Woodmark or Four Seasons for example). You also get full access to the facilities, including a large pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and relaxation room with a small selection of nice spa snacks. And valet parking is only $11 (for up to six hours I think). For all that alone, it’s an excellent experience. But truly special is this is one of the most COVID-safe businesses I have ever measured. First, the fresh air ventilation. Throughout, the spa, you can hear the quiet whoosh of an always-on HVAC system. The CO2 levels in all the common spaces including the locker rooms and pool have been reliably between 550-600 ppm when I’ve been there. In the sauna, CO2 stable at 700 ppm! (and it’s so hot in there viruses die fast anyway). Most impressively, in the massage room, CO2 levels max out at 800 ppm. With a two people, one working hard, my best estimate is that’s 20 air changes an hour. Even if I’m off by a factor of two, the massage rooms meet or exceed operating room and TB ward standards. And there are quiet Winix HEPA filters everywhere. It was on high (3 fans) in my massage room, which I estimate based on room size and specs is roughly 10 more air changes an hour in an already wonderfully well-ventilated space. In the common relaxation room where the sound is less noticeable, they’re on turbo. Masks are optional for clients and staff, but my last two masseuses (since the requirement was dropped) and the aesthetician were masked, and I would be very surprised if an unmasked service provider would object if asked. (There are black surgical masks for free in the relaxation room too.) It’s a true treat for those of us who know clean indoor air is the future to go somewhere to relax where you can truly relax.
Spa is on the 2nd floor of the Olive 8 Hyatt hotel right across from the main Hyatt Regency. I had an appoint for a massage and arrived early to enjoy the benefits of the Spa area which included access to the pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. The staff was very friendly and provided me with a robe, locker and sandals. They also had a small gift shop where you can purchase items in case you forgot something. I was picked up from the lounge area for my massage and greeted right away and walked to my room. Then I was offered an oil scalp treatment and hemp joint rub complimentary to my service since I was here with my friend for a work retreat. Hyatt really knows how to pamper because this massage was all about pampering with hot towels on the feet and hot towels on the face and wrapped around my head which eventually became cold really fast and didn't feel good to keep on the entire time. My massage therapist started with the scalp treatment first which just consisted of her pouring tons of herbal oil on my hair which was drenched in oil by the end. What happened to the scalp massage? Oh yeah that never happened. Moving onto the massge itself, I can't say I really enjoyed it since there were too many bells and whistles and I was looking for a simple massage. It wasn't bad but I just wanted more time for the actual massage itself instead of the little pampering methods. Overall, a different experience but wished they focused more on the massage details instead. They also offered a lounge area where you can relax before or after your service in comfy sofa chairs, snacks, coffee/tea and cozy blankets. Parking is located right below the Olive 8 Hyatt building or you can choose to do Valet parking at main Hyatt hotel across.
60 minute massage is more like 50 minutes max. the massage was pretty good! It was my first one so not much to compare it to. I had a good experience and I liked the pressure used. the relaxation room has lots of snacks and tea. it’s a nice spot to read and take your time after the session. the pool and hot tub are crowded - shared with the hotel, and there are always kids in the dressing rooms or the main pool area and hot tub. not so much a spa experience as soon as you leave the massage/relaxation room, because all you’ll hear is kids screaming and splashing (which is fine, but I prefer a no-kids spa experience). the steam room and sauna were surpassingly empty! I liked them! the shower was also really nice. the price for the couples massage we got ended up being close to $400 with tip. insane… don’t think I will splurge like that again for a massage. don’t think it was worth that much. took some extra snacks to make up for it…. also, they really do push for a 20% tip. if you have the guts to say “no, actually make it x%” then more power to you. I chickened out and ended up with more money out of my pocket. overall, good not amazing!
I'm mixed! As a day spa it's very nice. I didn't use the pool, but the sauna was one of the better ones I've been in. I came on Thursday evening, so it was mostly empty and quiet which was nice. My massage was a relaxing experience. They use a lot of hot towels and I was very comfortable. I told my masseuse where my problem areas were (upper back) and we decided to just focus on the top half of my body. I felt like she reallllly focused on my arms, which was weird considering I told her where I wanted to focus on. I kept thinking "okay, she'll get to my upper back soon..." When she finally did, she only did for two minutes and then my time was up. I felt very relaxed afterword though, so I thought maybe it was enough. The next day, my troubled spots are still troubled. I don't feel any better than I did when I came in, so on that aspect, I'm pretty disappointed. The rest of the experience is nice. They are very accommodating and mostly friendly. I might try it again some day, but for now I'm gonna try to get my boyfriend to get out my leftover knots.
Pretty good. The service providers and front desk staff were great. The facility is well appointed. Great massage and facial. The only issue I have is that the pool at the spa and locker rooms are shared with the general guests, and it kind of kills the relaxation. I had two sessions - a massage and a facial. For the massage, a dad with his kids were overrunning the locker room and screaming and messing everything up. Really ruined the vibe. I’m sorry, I’m gonna say it and people will hate it - but you parents really are a damn bane and have no idea what you ruin for other people. Yeah, “my kids”. Good for you. Control them in a spa locker room. Second session some guy was just like a bull in a china shop leaving everything wet and gross. He was just there for the pool. But I guess that could be any day, any jerk. Much different than the Hyatt Andaz, where there’s a separate spa pool and locker room. Be aware. But overall good.
Came here for a couple's massage to celebrate an anniversary. The spa itself is part of the Olive 8 Hyatt on the second floor. Nice receptionist and they gave us robes and sandals upon check in. Locker rooms had water, toiletries, showers, dry and wet sauna. After changing and getting ready we were greeted by our massage therapists. My therapist, Andrew, was absolutely delightful. He was kind, funny, and wanted to make sure I had a good massage session by letting me know what he was going to be doing that day. I opted for the hot stone treatment and he made sure my preferences were met. EXCELLENT massage and I highly recommend asking for Andrew. We also used the lap pool and hot tub since it was included in our rate. Overall great experience. A tad expensive but as a regular Hyatt guest in addition to being a world of Hyatt member, it made sense for me. Will be coming back if we get a chance.
I’ve been a big fan of Elaia for the past few years. It use to be the best hotel spa in downtown Seattle. I was very disappointed today. We ordered a couples massage, but were put in separate rooms. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing. The attendant said they would tell the front desk about our disappointment. My massage ended and they took me to the sitting area. I asked that they tell my companion where I was. Instead they took her to the locker rooms and it was 30 minutes before we figured it out and found each other. Very frustrated. When I spoke to the receptionist she said the couples room had been available the whole time. She apologized and offered me $25 off this visit. And then asked me if I wanted to add $50 gratuity to the bill. Really? For the number of times we’ve been to Elaia, the amount of money we’ve spent, and the frustration of today ... there are other spas.
Lackluster spa experience. I treated myself to a spa day for my birthday and left Elaia Spa feeling meh. I was hoping for something more lavish for the price. While the spa area is relaxing, the services were average. I scheduled a massage and facial. The massage was so-so. I added on the warm oil scalp massage, which felt more like someone scratching my head for 10 minutes and not much like the massage I was expecting. The facial was good. When my esthetician found out this was my first facial however, the appointment turned into an educational lecture with constant reassurances that I was “going to love it,” which wasn’t relaxing or enjoyable. Overall, I wouldn’t go back or recommend, especially for the price and quality of service.
I used to go here at least once a quarter but they must have new management or something. Despite listing available time slots on their booking site, they have started involuntarily rescheduling my appointments “to fit in more clients”. I understand this from a business point of view, but it’s their scheduling system showing me the available options, so it’s not my problem. They also started telling me that I cannot book the advertised “packages” on their website because my preferred appointment date is too far in advance (3 weeks out). Sadly, I have to find a new spa experience because they don’t understand or value their local clients. I gave them two stars because the masseurs are very capable. Estheticians are just ok.
Had a good experience until the end, I had purchased a couples massage for my mother for her birthday. I certificate said I quote " couples hot stone massage (60 mins each) $140". Of course they make you pay at the end of the session. Well when they tried to charge me another $140 I was puzzled because I had bought a couples package, well they forget to inform you that the couples package only covers one person! No where in the certificate did it say it was $140 each. I was very upset! The manager was as rude as she could be to us, trying to make us feel stupid! Well, all we felt was robbed and very angry when we left!! Very disappointed with management!
Shanda is wonderful - I've been coming to Elaia since they opened, I've always loved the experience. It's time for some updating of the lounge chairs, pool loungers and maybe decor but I wanted to highlight Shanda, I had a facial with her today and she was great! I'm an esthetician with over 20 years experience and felt extremely comfortable and in good hands. Her knowledge was above average and she's also a great conversationalist. I trust she's using the appropriate sanitizing protocols, lets be honest - not everyone is, and as a professional thats the main reason I rarely get professional treatments done. I've already pre-booked my next appointment.
I was feeling anxious and really wanted a relaxing massage. Apparently my massage therapist didn't know how to do a relaxation massage (which as a massage therapist myself I figured was the most simple and basic type of massage). Then, when I went to check out, the girls at the front desk asked me how the service was. Despite my clear unhappiness they said "great!" Then they explained they were going to take 20% for the massage therapist's tip. Clearly they were more saying what they were told to say rather than actually responding to me. While the spa itself is beautiful at no point did I feel like the employees actually cared about my experience.
Alex helped me with my pinched nerve. Did not get to use their hot tub or saunas, but it's included with your visit. If driving-park in hotel. Street parking is free after 8 pm. Double check with the city. These things change. Area is loaded with $hit to do. Anything you can think of; well, anything legal If you are venturing out, stay clear of 3rd Ave, keep walking towards 2nd Ave or 4th. Dont ruin your fun. Pine st is safer than Pike. If catching public trans do the Light Rail (exit or enter through 5th ave). Besides all that, once inside, it is very peaceful. I recommend it to everyone. To de-stress, de-tensify ➿️, de-compress↔️.
We had a very nice day at the spa. We used the pool, hot tub and steam room before our wonderful massages. Roselle and Dones were so professional and accommodating. Pool and hot tub area was very clean and relaxing. Sauna and steam room available to use in the locker room. The relaxation area has nice lounge chairs with blankets, snacks, tea and water. My massage therapist was Andrew and I was very happy with his massage. My two other friends were also very pleased with their treatments. The entire spa staff practices safe Covid procedures. Highly recommend and will return next time we are in Seattle.
This might just have been the best pedicure I've ever had. The technician did an amazing job on my calluses and the paint job is flawless. The relaxation area was lovely with snacks and tea. Everything seemed very clean and well appointed; all staff members were incredibly friendly as well. I also appreciate that you can valet park at the hotel for $8 for up to 6 hours when visiting the spa. The only negative thing to say is the pedicure stations weren't very comfy to relax and enjoy the massage. 4.5 starts rounded up to 5.
OMG. Came here with my work gals as our boss treated us to a spa day, I selected the 60 min Hot Stone massage. My Therapist was Jackie they have hands of gold! So professional and very sweet they made me feel right at home and really took their time taking out all my knots. She made sure she was using enough pressure for my liking and really just went to town in the best way possible. I had such a magical time before during and after I immediately decided I’m brining myself and my partner back. 40/10 recommended!
I got the elaia signature and asked for the massage therapist to focus on my sore shoulders. The massage was okay but wasn't as nice as some other massages I've had in the past. My shoulders were still sore the next day. The front desk words how much you want to tip in a loaded way "since you didn't have any problems with your massage then a 20% tip is fine" to pressure you into tipping so much. I don't really think it was worth the money since this place is pretty expensive.
Unfortunately for a couple’s massage we were placed in separate rooms. Also, my masseuse was sniffling and coughing the entire time. She paused for a while to couch and didn’t give me extra time. Even though I asked for more pressure she stayed very gentle (for a deep tissue massage) and I actually got cold under the blanket in the room. The pool was pretty but noisy with people talking. I did like the relaxation room. Overall not the best experience I’ve had at a spa
Wish the salt pool they market as high dollar entry for day passes was not shared with main hotel. Only because despite going 10x there are always families aka kids. Kids are fine but kids and pools is loud fun splashing screaming and not the relaxing spa experience you pay for. They also don't tell you this upfront so that should be more transparent and I would not have had issue with it the first time. Let people know what they are paying for.
Jen is an absolute miracle worker with her massages. As an out-of-shape runner, and a photographer who's been carrying gear all week, I showed up gnarled and broken by this cruel world. After one deep tissue session with Jen, I am new. And feeling like jello-- but in the way one wants to feel after a massage! I highly recommend Elaia's relaxing atmosphere, welcoming staff, and their expert technicians.
I had an amazing experience here. I loved the steam room. The body scrub and massage with Jen was excellent. She told me what to expect each step of the way. Very comforting setting. Paige gave me a fabulous facial and was very knowledgeable. Addison was very helpful at the front desk. I also really loved the waiting room. The tea was lovely, great ambiance. The whole experience was truly wonderful.
I've loved this place for a long time, but it was finally time for me to admit things are not as good these days. They've tightened up rules around facilities use due to overcrowding, at least one of the estheticians is fairly rude and unprofessional, and the receptionists on a whole are not friendly and unfortunately are not empowered to provide an excellent customer service experience.
Men's steam room is not hot at all. There is a layer of slime (mildew) on the floors, walls and sitting area. Tried wiping it with a towel and it's all brownish. I notices there are lime buildups along the granite slabs. Darks spots (mildew) on the shower walls too. God knows what kind of bacteria and fungi is being grown here. Should be reported to the health department.
Been to spas all over the world and this spa rates among the best. Everything is classy and well thought out. Don’t waste your money anywhere else. Services were well priced but the experience cannot be beat. Best of all you get use of the steam room, sauna and pool. Absolutely coming back next time I’m in Seattle. Well done. 5 stars definitely deserved
We booked couples retreat where they offer private soaks and massages after. It was amazing! We were not as impressed by the soaks, as it was a bit lukewarm. But their therapists are amazing! We had great time. All facilities were clean, the pool for spa guests and hotel guests was empty the time we visited so we hung out there for sometime.
I had the most wonderful 1 hour facial by Samantha. The room was inviting, comforting with warmth and low lighting. She explained each product before starting & made sure to ask if I had any specific concerns with my skin. Her hands are so soft and each application was warm and soothing. I will book this service again. Thank you, Samantha!
I loved this place. The massage was perfect and you can really relax at the relaxation lounge. There are a bunch of magazines to browse through with some awesome aromatic teas. The steam room is pretty big with the pool attached to it. The receptionists are pretty friendly and give you a quick tour. I am looking forward to my next visit.
My daughter bought us a spa day of pampering and relaxation. The massage was not relaxing and I never once felt pampered. For the amount of money my daughter paid I feel she was completely robbed. She is pregnant and I’ve had a lot of stress. We were both really looking forward to this day. The best part was dough zone afterwards.
So wonderful!! I got a facial, mani and pedi, all of which were relaxing and rejuvenating. The facial products smelled and felt great, and my skin was so soft and smooth. My nails were done thoroughly and I loved relaxing in the waiting area until they were dried. Would love to go back someday!
The Facial from Paige was amazing! She has a truly magical touch and I have noticed a significant improvement in my skins elasticity since regular facials and using the Eminence skin care. If you go and have extra time enjoy the relaxation room, sauna and steam before or after your treatment.
I booked my friend for a facial, pedicure, manicure, and massage. She liked everything. The staff were nice and friendly and also professional at what they do. The place has a good vibe. Totally relaxing. Definitely give this spa a 5-star rating. I forgot to take pictures.
I visit Paige regularly for the most incredible facials - I followed her from a previous spa as she really is a miracle worker! She tailors the facials so they are exactly what I need that month, they are always perfect and super relaxing. Elaia Spa is lucky to have her!
Facials are hidden gen services because you basically get two services in one, anti-aging face work with a massage on your face, neck, shoulders, back. It's heaven. If you come here, make sure you get your facial from Taffy. She is so amazing!
This spa on the second floor of the Hyatt at Olive 8 is amazing. Everyone is super polite and friendly. Their locker rooms are big and clean and there's a nice waiting area while you wait for your services with amazing refreshments and snacks.
We had a pleasant time getting massage and nails here. I liked the smell of the steam room. But the layout of the facilities doesn't give you a way to cool off so you can enjoy a long time here.
Absolutely wonderful experience! I was able to book in short notice. Excellent deep tissue massage that worked out the travel kinks. I had more energy after the massage and felt great!
My favorite spa by far! Service is impeccable, super clean and you can use the hotel pool, steam room and sauna as long as you want too afterwards. Eric is amazing!
Wonderful experience for Elaia! I got a manicure, pedicure, and eyelash extensions. The service was wonderful and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommend
Reception was cold, annoyed with our presence and not welcoming in any sense. Not the spa experience start I ever remember receiving here.
Nice birthday treat to myself and it was a nice environment to relax, large pool and good amenities. Everything was as expected.
So relaxing! Lovely staff. Fantastic massage. I have hardly felt so refreshed after a spa experience- I would definitely return!
Amazingly relaxing experience! Massage w/Eric was perfect & the facial was FABULOUS w/Magen!!! Highly recommend Elaia Spa!
Fantastic Spa amenities stellar therapist and front desk staff. Great birthday wellness retreat + staycation.
They have great staff, treatments, and the most relaxing of environment. I will be going back again!
Very nice for a first spa/massage experience. Very, very pricey. Definitely for a special occasion.
One of the best massages I've had in Seattle. The staff is lovely and the spa itself is relaxing.
Excellent, clean. A pool and jacuzzi would have been great but everything else was top notch.
This place is way over priced for a manicure. Service was great and the place was beautiful.
Lovely staff, relaxing environment, amazing treatments. Highly recommend!!
Lavish and proper spa experience, with great options and strong service.
Great facilities. Big space. Treatments are good. Staff is very nice.
Average spa. Average massage. I didn't think it was worth the money.
Wonderful staff, great massage and facial. Great experience.
This is a great spa , loved my massage with Stephanie Rose
Lovely, peaceful place. Good massage, great steam room.
Great service. I live in SLU and this is my go to spa.
Very relaxing, helped me to adjust to a new time zone
60 minute sport massage with Stacey was amazing.
Loved it Melissa was amazing!
