October 20, 2023 - My husband and I drove my 93 year old mom today for a routine check up (her last check up was in 2018). I've never been in this clinic. Unfortunately, the experience today was NEGATIVE! I read reviews here today and comments are almost identical for the last 7 years! Our first point of contact today, a curt receptionist with an unfriendly tone ordered us to disinfect our hands - fine but I was thinking what's your problem? Second, the red head manager who I believe is the Mrs. with a bad attitude, ordered my husband "I must ask you to leave the premises". Office policy posted on the wall is 1 companion only for the patient. No ifs, ands or buts. It didn't matter even if there were over 30 empty seats. Third, they had the audacity to send an office clerk to me twice, asking me to return the office pen. I said a pen was not provided. Clerk goes back in. I heard a voice behind the wall saying, yes I did give one. I had to repeat, a pen was not provided. As we walked past the reception area on our way to the testing room, I addressed the receptionist, I can't believe you are auditing me for 1 pen! I showed my mom's gold pens and we walked away. This office does not give any importance on their reputation. They don't care about the comments. I have yet to read an apology here but can't find one. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT IS THEIR BUSINESS PROTOCOL. WE WILL NOT BE BACK! PS: Dr. Savage and his technicians were friendly and professional but we won't be back.

It really is too bad this clinic does not make exceptions to the '1 accompanying person per client's rule. My grandpa needed to see the doctor unexpectedly, and is very hard of hearing. My grandma is also in her 80's, and is feeling everwhelmed with all this stress. She wanted a second set of ears there to take in information and have support. I drove them to their appointment as the roads are bad and neither of them can drive currently. The clinic staff were polite but refused to let me attend the appointment with my grandparents, and refused to let me sit in the waiting room as "only 1 person can be with the client at all times in the building". I explained the situation, but was told either myself or my grandma would have to leave. It's important to note it was not busy in the waiting room, and there were many empty chairs. No further explanation was given by the receptionists, and I was told it's their "policy". I'm extremely disappointed that such a reputable clinic treats their clients so. I recommend this clinic re-examine their policies surrounding number of people allowed to accompany clients, and make exceptions to this when appropriate.

I have to travel from Red Deer for appointments here. Now, I didn’t mind Dr. Savage as he treated me with respect, but on my final visit here before he referred me back to Dr. Bozdech in RD, my friend who was my driver for my appointments had a very rude experience with reception and the office manager. She needed to use the washroom but was denied (due to COVID which was understandable). When she asked the receptionist who refused her entry, my friend, with respect, asked if the receptionist could give her any ideas on where she could go. At this point, the office manager came out and told my friend that if she raises her voice once again, the police will be called. My friend did not raise her voice, she asked a simple question and this was the treatment she received. Will not be going back

I have attended this clinic to assist a friend on several occasions and have been impressed with the efficiency they all demonstrate. The rules of the clinic are given on the first contact with them and when you arrive. It amazes me how many patients are seen in a day, this would not happen without a well run and organized front end. All the employees have given us time when we have had questions. I can understand if an employee perhaps does not respond in a manner that someone thinks is not polite, they start at 7 am and work long hours assisting many, some who may ignore the rules and aren't so polite themselves. I commend Dr. Savage on his dedication and to all his employees who enable him to see as many patients as he does on a daily basis.

I have heard many complaints about the staff being rude at this clinic, and have read many bad reviews. Today I experienced it first hand! My doctor is wonderful, but the receptionist today was rude beyond anything I have experienced! If you do not speak respectfully to the clients , how do you think clients will react? I was blindsided when I was told to "Calm Down" (in which all I said was my phone is already off, and I already sanitized my hands). I went to the washroom and sat down in the waiting area, when I overheard the same receptionist laughing with a colleague about telling me to calm down. This was exceptionally unprofessional and outright rude!

WORST PLACE ever! I have never written a bad review as I truly believe in "If you have nothing nice to say then best not say anything" BUT Wow! I cant help it! I have NEVER come across such a HORRIBLE place! This place should be investigated for mistreating their elderly patients and patients in general! Extremely Rude and worst customer service I have come across. Receptionist and someone named Mrs. Savage needs to be replaced. Mrs Savage is extremely arrogant and needs to get off her high horses and be sat on the floor and talked some sense into her swollen head.

The front office staff are horrifically rude. In person and on the phone. The optic technicians and Dr Savage are professional and kind. It's unfortunate that the front office staff ruin the clinic experience and reputation. Update...I called in to speak with the "office manager" regarding my concerns and to get some clarification. Imagine my surprise when she was just as rude and curt as the rest. Said it was "annoying" and "wasnt her fault" people couldn't follow rules. Clearly respect is not part of their vocabulary.

Dr. Savage is great but unfortunately that is not enough balance out how terribly rude the staff is, both on the phone and in person. When people dread going to their appointments you have problems. Other reviews have said you should feel privilege to be able to go but that comment is completely opposite of what the service industry is about. The staff should aid the clients and make them feel welcome not give everyone attitude, condescending tones, and rude comments. I hope I never return.

I have been going to this clinic for roughly 10 years now and I can’t say any visit has been great but the one I had today was the worst yet. It is a very assembly line-esq experience every time which I don’t have a problem with. I have a problem with being scolded like a child for not bringing a mask with me. Stuff happens, things get forgotten, but the front desk attitude to situations needs to change, especially the red haired lady.

Doctor Savage was very professional. The office staff are very rude! They are more focused on enforcing the rules than they are about showing empathy for or caring for clients. Even the office manager was rude. I saw her snap at a patient and then watched her patrol the halls the ensure no patients were hanging out there. They could use some sensitivity training.
