Long and complicated: Moved to Portland recently and I needed my permanent retainer fixed and this place was open on the weekends and it looked like it had alright reviews. Called ahead and gave my insurance information about 3 days prior to appointment. Came in and they said that they couldn’t verify my insurance yet but they would try again Monday (this was on a Sunday), and I could pay upfront and they would reimburse me when they heard from my insurance. I was ok with this, and my retainer was poking me and really bothering me. They said it would take around 3 weeks to receive my money back. The staff was very nice. I eventually got in to see the dentist, she was also nice, fixed my retainer, cleaned my teeth, told me I have some cavities and I should come in again and get them fixed. Fast forward a month, haven’t heard about getting my Money reimbursed or anything (it was a several hundred dollar amount and enough that I would really want it back), decided to call. They have no record of my insurance on file and never tried to contact them. The lady on the phone said she would take care of it right away and took my information down. About 3 weeks later I receive a receipt from my insurance showing that they have paid the tooth doctor. I wait three weeks for them to cash the check and work everything out.. I hear nothing from them and receive no money back on my card. I call them and ask if they have received the check, they tell me they have no check on file and have not received anything from my insurance. ( at this time I had just moved into a new apartment and had missplaced the hard copy of my insurance receipt). I wait till the following day when my isurance providers help line is open and give them a call. My isurance company is amazing and look up all the information and tell me that they had sent the check and the check was cashed 1.5 weeks ago. They go on to ask me how much I had been charged and they tell me that the emergency tooth doctor had charged me well above the allowed amount for an in network person and they owe me the reimbursement of that on top of the amount they paid them. They then send me the receipt and some legal documents and tell me what leverage I have. I take this information and call the tooth doctor back, they tell me that that can’t talk to me directly and would need to talk to my insurance to get the check numbers and things (also the previous day, the guy I talked to on the phone said that he would leave a note for someone to follow up with my insurance to find where the check was, apparently thet didn’t happen) I wait to get called back. Around 2 hours later I receive a call from the tooth doctor and and they tell me the amount I would be getting back which is more then $400... but, I have to wait till the owner is in because he is the only person who can reimburse people and that will not be for 4 days. Also at some point in this I tried to schedual an appointment to take care of my cavities, and the doctor had not recorded that I had any in my file. In summary, they are bad at communicating, following up, recording information, billing, or refunding your money within 3 weeks. They are either incompetent or sketchy. But the staff is nice if that is important to you.

I was absolutely petrified to go to another dentist after my horrifying experiences with Eastport Willamette Dental (where I have my dental insurance). The office was willing to accommodate my request for something for the panic coursing throughout my soul. Unfortunately they would have to write a script to be filled and I would have to take the pill an hour before my appointment time (the urgency of my dental emergency did not make this a possibility because I would have to come back the following day) and it was already very late in the day-my appointment was at 7:30 pm. The office itself is plain and unassuming, neither repulsive or welcoming...just blah. I don't need fancy decor to make me feel comfortable, the office staff did that. The girls were very patient and sympathetic, listened without interrupting, only asking questions when I faltered in memory. The infection was so bad that it had affected my thinking . I did not feel judgement, just sympathy. Dr. Grady assured me that if he couldn't get me numb due tho the infection that there were other ways to make sure I was comfortable. I did not stop shaking in fear and anxiety until Dr. Grady started his first numbing injection. As soon as I felt the patience and gentle hand I knew that he was skilled. I barely felt the injections (I had her own accustomed to Willamette Dentals dentist extremely painful injections) and my jaw was SEVERELY infected due to several denials (6) for antibiotics by my primary dental office. Although Dr. Brady administered several skilled shots I did have some pain during the rather difficult extraction. Dr. Brady and his assistant remained calm and worked seamlessly as a team throughout the procedure. It was as pleasant as a painful dental extraction could be. We joked, sang along to to the music (Wallflower channel on Pandora), and I felt part of a team by the end...YAY WE GOT IT! HIGH 5! LOL!!! Dr. Brady stitched up the hole very well! He did not rush my questions, or his explanations. I could tell he genuinely cares about his patients comfort and his bedside manner is the best I've ever seen! I'd highly recommend him! The 4 stars were because they don't take a very common insurance, and had nothing to do with the office personnel! I paid out of pocket $400, I don't know if that's reasonable or not, but my insurance would've covered it all. The office does offer a free check up 1 week after, which I thought was very cool! I'm not sure if I will go or not. I'm still waiting to see how well this heals. Thank you Dr. Brady and Staff! Have a great weekend!

First and foremost I am extremely happy I decided to go through with the procedure of having a gross pupal debridement done. I was on vacation and the day of my flight to Portland, I had an excruciating, unbearable, throbbing, on and off tooth ache! It was so bad, but last thing I wanted to do was go to a doctor on my vacation and pay for something that my insurance probably didn't cover since I was out of town. 2 days in, the pain got worse than worse and I called the most convenient tooth doctor nearby to consult with them. I happen to call the Emergency Tooth Doctor in the area, but they said they had a doctor downtown Portland who could do the procedure if it was needed right away. They had informed me to just go downtown. So my partner and I first thing in the morning rush downtown Portland to get it done so that we can continue our vacation! The area is not as convenient but what's needed must be done. Anywho, right when we walked in the clinic first impression is that it's a bit tacky in color. But not a big deal. I spoke to the receptionist right away and she had me fill in some paperwork. Once done, I was able to see someone within 5 minutes or so of waiting. The dental assistant took x-rays. He helped me feel comfortable by trying not to hurt me in taking my x-rays by accommodating the tools to the size of my mouth. Shortly after I spoke with Dr. Michael Savage. Dr. Michael Savage is very informative! He answered all my questions and concerns. I went back and forth a lot between doing the procedure and not doing it. He assured me this was the best route. Overall, I went through with it. He was thorough and did an amazing job! After the treatment, I was throbbing free of pain. There was still inflamed gum tissue underneath the tooth but I'd take that over throbbing pain and headaches/neck aches! He made the rest of my trip so much better. To top it off, the next day he even called to check in on me to make sure I was doing better. I'd say he is one of the best tooth doctors I had the pleasure of meeting. Pricing-wise, they charge a minimum of $98 dollars. This includes x-rays, consultation, etc. The procedure itself wasn't the full root canal treatment I believe but was $300 something which my final total came to ~$450. My insurance did not cover but I was able to reimburse myself through my HSA. Overall the price was worth removing the pain. Michael Savage was a pleasure to meet. I am glad I went through with it.

I hope whom ever reads reviews others post about this office has the intelligence to question the tyrant complaints others post about this dental office. The obvious anger in their posts review of this office seem delusional, full of questionable accusations, in my mind. Their stories leave me with more questions, than tangible answers regarding their "horrible" experience. After I read some bad reviews I was left to assume these complaints stem from, either, #1. not getting drugs (Which I commend the dentist for not contributing to the drug pandemic in Portland by handing out drugs like candy). I assume this from the horses mouth, Since the complainants most often follow other irrational rants, with them not getting a drug they asked for! huh? or #2 they did not want to pay for services. I wasn't raised to be a beggar or freeloader, so I personally don't understand that rational. Due to an unfortunate accident I had to visit Emergency Tooth Doctor Downtown, but I had great experience and was very thankful to have an office open on the weekend when I urgently needed a dentist. If you need a dentist this company has one of the several offices open every day I was told, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, with prices that are reasonable. Thank you Emergency Tooth Doctor Staff for working when others can't or won't.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went in to seek treatment for jaw pain/ bruxism. Dr. Mazareei led me to believe that to alleviate *sudden* jaw pain, I would need Invisalign. (Something she was steering me to her other practice for, leaving me wondering now if she gets a commission for Invisalign sales.) Anyway, all this led to me *urgently needing some fillings done* to ready me for this necessary Invisalign. The day after I receive the fillings, my PCP identifies a new medication as causing night-time bruxism: when I stopped taking it, the pain went away. After the fillings, which Dr. Mazareei re-did immediately following their initial placements (all in one mega-session), the pain never went away. I have experienced excruciating pain since. I returned to seek counsel, and another dentist recommended re-doing the fillings again. I decided to go to a more experienced and trusted practice before getting any more work done. There, I was told that I now have permanent nerve damage and need a root canal (and that replacing these fillings would just subject me to more damage). I am still in pain as I write this 3 weeks later, waiting to be seen by a specialist. I am considering a law suit. Do not go here: this place subjected me to a whirlwind of pain and has caused some trauma around trusting medical professionals.

I had a tooth extracted today and they were great! I have a lot of dental trauma and anxiety and I was less than thrilled about needing any dental work done today but it was one of the best experiences I’ve had with a dentist and at a dental office. All of the staff members were amazing. They were very kind and I felt respected and heard. There was little to no pain because the dentist even used numbing cream before injections which I haven’t had a dentist do since I was a child and it was so appreciated. I felt so safe the entire time and that is a huge deal for me in a dental setting, not to mention they are open 7 days a week and were able to get me into the office within hours of calling. I had to self pay and it was also very affordable as far as emergency dental care goes. This is the only place I will be going to if I need future emergency dental care and I would recommend them to anyone needing dental care in the Portland metro area.

Thank God for this place. Had a dental crisis in the late evening and they got me in on a Saturday the next morning. Dr. Pham was tremendously helpful, gentle, and kind. Josh, the assistant was super sweet as well. Highly recommend. It is a small office, which I liked. I will be returning there for regular care, which they do as well. So thankful I chose this location- It was exactly what I needed and really good care. Dr. Pham gave me a few options for treatment and was able to start rebuilding my tooth immediately, which alleviated a lot of distress (my tooth crumbled and it was visible when I smile). Thank you guys!!!! (I am sad that others gave poor ratings due to the fact that that only take OHP for those under 21. Don’t be upset with the practice. It is a complex issue and a system wide problem, not the providers.)

I couldn’t find parking and was a little late (max ten minutes). I couldn’t call as I was driving. Instead of calling me and asking me if I was still coming, the doctor decided to leave without letting me know. Again this was after only 10 mins. I have been to this a office a couple times, it’s not like a no-showed on any appointments. During one of the previous appointments I had a doctor (different from the one who left early) who made multiple inappropriate comments to me as a sort of joke. I let it go because I figured that doctor was just a jerk and the office was conveniently located to my apartment and job. Now I see that this office is filled with unprofessionals and I will be driving to the Beaverton location for my next appointment.

If I could give more stars I would! I was in Portland visiting family from California just before a six night camping trip when one of my teeth needed immediate care. I called Emergency Tooth Doctor late Monday afternoon and got an appointment first thing the following morning. Dr. Stebbins and his staff were professional and their office was clean. Dr. Stebbins went over my options and took his time helping me decide what would be best for my situation. After making my decision, they got me taken care quickly so I could get on with the rest of my trip. He really took his time allowing me to express all of my concerns and making sure all of my questions were answered. I am so thankful for their service and highly recommend them.

I recently had a emergency extraction at the tooth doctor Stark Street location. I will say it was the single most uncomfortable experience I have had at a dentist office ever! The staff at the front desk were unpleasant at best , the dental assistant spoke very poor English and did not explain much. Just before the extraction a different medical assistant asked me to pay for the invoice before the actual removal and was also quite rude about it as well. After my extraction the dental assistant handed my a bottle of mouth wash and told me to read all the instructions. I asked her several questions with no response. I'm hoping this review will save someone from the terrible experience I had to endure.

What a scam! I called for an emergency appt & waited over 24 hours for a call back, with a broken tooth. then the person scheduled me for a diagnostic only appt without telling me, so I sat through my anxiety, only to be told I’d have to schedule another appointment to actually receive treatment. While in the office, the dentist on duty spoke to me like I didn’t know what was happening in my own mouth & tried to push unwanted treatments on me even after being told I wasn’t interested. I came to your business for help & left feeling like I had been cheated & without treatment... very unprofessional. I won’t be back...

  • Toni Elyse

Oh my goodness I am so grateful for this place. I had been turned away and accused of drug searching when I had gone to another emergency clinic in town the day prior. I was able to book an appointment for my emergency wisdom tooth and Sam at the front desk was absolutely amazing and compassionate towards my situation. Dr. Mogely performed my extraction and he was also so helpful and made me feel really comfortable. My tooth and I were outta there within 3 hours! I had this surgery done today and I’m well enough to be typing this which is a miracle!

EXTREME CAUTION IN USING THIS PRACTICE. I went in to have a very uncomplicated filling reattached the day before leaving for Africa. Both the dentist and his assistant knew the dentist had misplaced my filling and within a week it broke off taking a piece of the tooth with it. When I returned to the US, the dentist and Thomas Pham, the practice owner, took no responsibility. It cost me over $6,000 to have another dentist perform a root canal and implant. The performing dentist is incompetent and Dr Pham is unethical.

  • Angela Barber

We started going to the Emergency Tooth Dr. while we lived in Beaverton. Almost 10 years later, we still use them on a regular basis, now visiting the Broadway location. But we would drive all over Portland if we had to. Thomas Pham is the BEST dentist we have ever known. He's awesome with kids, has perfect chair-side manner, and is knowledgeable AND friendly. Whether it's an emergency or not, they are our number 1 choice! Their unique office hours are convenient as well!

  • Gabrielle Davila

Took my partner here for an extraction. They said they couldn't do the extraction and tried to charge me over 3K for a HALF root canal. We ended up walking out and having to pay 100 for x-rays alone which I never received copies of like they said they would email me. I tried to get a refill of his pain meds since they didn't prescribe him enough to last until his extraction scheduled for Thursday. Now I can't even get a callback to talk to his doctor. WORST.DENTIST.EVER.

  • Joseph Forlini

Caring and professional. They take the time to explain procedures and answer any questions you may have. They weren't in my insurance network but provided all needed documentation so I get reimbursed. Dr. Liddy and her staff are simply great. They do their best to make your dentist visit as smooth and pain-free as possible. I definitely recommend Emergency Tooth Dentist. I went to the Vancouver branch which is about 11 miles from my home but definitely worth the ride.

NEVER come here. They are extremely unprofessional and disorganized. You’re wasting your time trying to come here and get help. They will claim to take your insurance one day and speak to your insurance rep on the phone then send a text the day of your surgery at 8AM to inform you they longer take your insurance. Every time you call them their reception will tell you something different, really terrible. Please don’t risk coming here. OHP patients avoid at all costs.

  • Carson Meyrick

Needed a dentist right away, this place is two short blocks from me yet I was refused service due to the fact that I have FamilyCare Plus. They only help people under 21 with that coverage. Makes absolutely NO sense to me. Are they too small of an office to accommodate people over 21? Spoke to someone who was very polite but they need to put this information out there cuz it seems a little shifty that it's nowhere to be found.

  • Joel

I was really impressed with this dentist. They got me in the same day that I called to make an appointment. Will was very accommodating and understanding of my nervousness. I got a tooth pulled and was surprised at how easy and pain free the process was. I dont have insurance and thought their prices were affordable regardless. Will be returning for other dental work!

  • Manaf Telfah

Worst dentist in the US, horrible clinical skills, poor services, and expensive prices. I'm a veteran and I have served in Afghanistan and Iraq, I got wonded and hurt many times. But this dentist anesthetic needle was the most painful thing I have ever tried. Not mentioning the rudeness level of their whole crew. But they actually have nice trees outside their door

  • Jackson Weird

Only place nearby that could help but refuses to, because I'm too old with state insurance. Would of been nicer to have found this out sooner than wasting my time trying to get seen. The website doesn't mention this and it makes me wonder if it is because I'm transgender. Mind you, teeth don't have a gender but a lot of dentist offices get hung up on it.

  • C A

Very bad practice, terrible. Their hours are not listed correctly online, went there a few times, always to find them closed, can barely get a call back. When someone I know left them a bad review because of this they sent a message saying " because of the bad review you submitted, your appointment has been cancelled". Very unprofessional

  • Annie Linstrom

Thank GOODNESS these people were here when my dad needed a dentist quickly! His local dentist was closed for Spring Break, and my dad’s face was swelled up and he was in so much pain. Had an appt scheduled the same day, and they were able to do x-rays and extract tooth within an hour! Excellent service and commitment to the community. ❤️

  • Cindy Miller

Ended up with dry socket after an extraction. Dr and staff saw me and took care of pain with numbing agent. I got to appt. 20 min early and he came back early from dinner to take care of me. Amazing care and I'm so grateful the hours are convenient for us that work odd hours. Thank you so very much for taking such wonderful care of me.

  • OTSTOKEANDNINA

Called about an emergency same day my tooth extraction, a woman picked up said " you already called & hung up on me '' I proceeded to say my phone is having connection problems and she proceeded to hang up. Now they're just letting it ring . After numerous times of calling back it's going straight to voicemail .

  • button71

What a great service! They took me on a Sunday lunchtime and the charge was only$98 including x-rays and a prescription. They also did not over treat and gave excellent advice. Dentist Will was great and could have a sideline as a Simon Pegg impersonator! Highly recommended.

  • Virginia Reid

I loved that I got excellent care...my issue was solved..it was totally affordable...super convenient...and service was fast...no frills provided but also no upselling either which was almost the best part...tired of dental upselling

  • Lauren Watson

Did not communicate credit needed for no insurance emergency appointment. Had us come in and get set up for nothing. Denied emergency medical care. Denied State Insurance. Not willing to take payments. Money over people, right? :(

  • Laura Weird

Feel like this is generous. Only serve 21 and under with ohp. Just tried to get an appointment. For emergency like the sign says. And no where on their website does it mention "criteria" they want and how transphobic they are.

  • Lisa Lundin

I had to go in and have a impacted wisdom tooth pulled and they did a amazing job! Dr. King is a miracle worker, I felt nothing the whole entire extraction and was in and out in no time! I would recommend them to anyone!

  • Monica Sexton

Multiple convenient locations, always quick to help in emergency tooth pain situations, assess situation and explain all options, reasonable prices and great staff. The weekend hours are great.

  • Christina H.

Won't help a patient (me) with a potentially life threatening issue because I don't have the money on hand to pay. Reporting this company to an Ombudsman first thing in the morning.

  • Cassandra Zimon

Really helped me out when I was having extreme tooth pain. I was able to schedule an appointment the same day and the staff was kind and helpful. I highly recommend.

  • Robert Barrow

A wonderful dentist and if my insurance covered I would only see him, definitely Recommend this Dr

  • Murphy Lundie

Three days of torturing pain, after seeing one of these dentist no pain the next day! THANK YOU!

  • Jason Smith

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. The staff is incompetent and rude. Go see a REAL dentist if you need help!

  • Taylor Tuomey

Absolutely the best place you will find no better place to have urgent dental work done

  • Aaron Reynolds

Open Sundays! I was in crazy pain, they got me in on a Sunday, and the staff was great.

  • Jasmine Hiatt

This place is downright sketchy. You've been warned.
