One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had! I rented a car in order to travel during the weekend. When I arrived to the recipition desk, the employee who also claimed to be the office manager, informed me that there was a glitch in the system and the car I reserved is no longer available and was lower than the normal price anyway. When I accepted to take an alternative car, he then claimed that my debit/credit card is not sufficient. He wanted " a credit card NOT linked to a bank account because it is safer" as he literally mentioned. I offered him 3 different cards: debit and visa and he kept on rejecting them. I finally offered to pay in cash and he insisted that is not possible. At this point, I felt that this guy just don't want to rent me a car because of the low price. I visited this branch a month before I made my reservation asking about any requirements and i was never told about such "payment policy" if that was the case. Due to this horrible service, I lost my money which I already paid for the hotel booking which was very late to cancel. I submitted a complain to his management and they promised to look into it. I won't recommend dealing with this rental company and this branch in particular
I had a reservation that I had made a week before the pickup date last Thursday, but when I turned up to collect the car, I was told to stand in line outside. While I waited half an hour in the sun, I overheard another customer making a call to say that she had come to pick up the car she had reserved but was told there were no cars available. I then insisted that one of the staff explain the situation to me, and I was told the same thing, but that I could wait in line in case any car was returned! There were 5 people in line ahead of me. I therefore called another branch and was told that they also had no cars. I finally called Enterprise at the airport, who were able to locate another downtown branch who had cars. I had to make my own way there, and was given a smaller car than I had booked, for a higher rate. I got it 2 hours later than the time I had booked, which almost made me miss my afternoon appointment. If Enterprise cannot fulfill a reservation, you at least should notify your customers in advance, and ideally suggest an alternative solution - as in this case I had to work one out for myself. A bad experience that I hope will not be repeated.
I write to offer a special thanks to Brandon Corning, assistant manager at Madison location in downtown Chicago.. I am not sure how I ended up with a reservation at Enterprise on Madison in Chicago. At one time I had one at Union Station and someone there kindly called me to say "don't come, it was a mistake." This was Labor Day Weekend and reservations were all but impossible downtown. When I was about to try Midway notice appeared on my phone of a reservation at Madison and I immediately called Corning and shortly later arrived there. He was exceptionally useful, advising me to return the car at O'Hare notwithstanding the $75 charge for doing because Madison would be closed until Tuesday. I am an Enterprise fan and believe family ownership makes a difference. I did not have a great experience with offshore support on this trip but the crew in Chicago was on top of things, particularly Corning.
rented a car over the weekend from this location and it was not the Enterprise experience I've come to know. It took three cars before on finally worked for me: first was not clean when the agent sat in to turn on so he got me another, second car I took and before I left town the tire pressure warning notice came on so I had to take it back, third car was also dirty but didn't notice until after I had it for a day (there was trash and old receipts between the seats). They also seemed very hectic at pickup. Could have just been the mass amounts of holiday weekend rentals but it was very unorganized. Lastly, the thing that irritated me the most is that on the Enterprise website it says 'Enterprise Union Station' when in fact they are about a 1/2 mile from Union Station so I had to walk from US to the location a few blocks away.
The car worked fine for the entire week. I did have problems at the beginning and end. While you advertise "We will pick you up" that does not hold true for your Chicago Union Station location. Poor directions from your staff on the phone led me on a tour of the area on foot with two rolling suitcases, a camera backpack and a computer bag. Coupled with poor signage by Union Station, I almost missed my train after turning the car back in due to the actual station being 2 blocks further than the directions that were given. People renting cars usually do not know the area, and need better instructions than were given. Pickup and drop off at the station entrance would have made it a lot easier.
I have been a regular customer at this location and recently had a Not At Fault Accident for which I had the required Insurance Coverage in place. Enterprise Damage Recovery Unit did not have any problem in me renting another vehicle but this location employee Kimberly did not want to rent a car because of an outstanding claim. She does not know the Company process and asked to me do her job in check with the Recovery Unit, which i did and they confirmed I can rent. She still denies she cannot rent, not sure what her logic was when Enterprise themselves are ready to rent. Would like Enterprise to better educate about the Company policies and not let your customers do it for your instead
I rented the car at a different chicago location and had no problems. When dropping off the car at this location there is such poor signage that anyone who didn’t rent there first would have trouble. I was dropping off after hours and spent 40 minutes driving in circles to figure out how to do this. When checking the website it says it has special directions but doesn’t list what they are. For anyone wondering dropping off after hours go to the doors in the round about and push the button for the set of directions. Aka park the car in the garage across the street and drop the keys off where the round about doors are by pushing button.
Then they began to ask for paystubs, proof of address, personal insurance (listed as not required) wasn't listed online or told to my partner until after he booked. There reasons was to make sure you can afford it. Our addresses haven't been updated so they didn't match and turned us away. This should be disclosed online and in person to avoid wasting time. My partner had just spoken to the counter employee about cars available and he didn't mention this until after he reserved. We needed a car that can accommodate 5 car seats last minute and waste over an hour just to cancel.
The employees here were incredibly helpful and sped me along on my journey within Chicago. Upon return of the vehicle, a snazzy Hyundai Elantra, I enlisted their aid-- this was realized in the form of Craig from Enterprise-- in getting a friend to the airport via a train and myself to Union Station for my train via Enterprise's courtesy shuttle service. Overall excellent and the rental place I'll keep in mind should I find myself needing a car whilst in Chicago! The cost was fair for what it was, though it'd be markedly cheaper for renters of twenty-five and above. Obviously.
Returning a car after hours is absolutely ridiculous. Theres no instructions. I spent 45 minutes figuring out how to and where to drop off the car. The people at the garage are rude and weren’t helpful at all at trying to help me figure out where to return the car or if I am even in the right place. If you are wondering how to return. Apparently it’s in the basement of the presidential towers garage. As for the keys the drop box is not in the basement! its actually across the street through the double sliding door to get into the enterprise office
The SUV we booked online wasn’t available had to settle for a minivan. Requested a vehicle with navigation there wasn’t one available had to wait for employees to locate a garmin unit Which I was charged an extra $11:39 for and took over half a hour for this to be located even though it was in a desk in the front office. Was told by staff that only vehicles hired from their location in the airport come with navigation. A total cost of $243 and only had the vehicle from 08:30 to 16:00. I won’t be using enterprise again.
Awesome location! I’ve rented from more than 10+ locations (California, Hawaii , Colorado, Etc…) and Dwight & Erin have to be the BEST enterprise representatives I have encountered. I live 25 minutes away from this location (there are 2 in my vicinity ) and I go out of my way just to come back to them. They are very communicative, and make sure you leave that place happy every time. They make the process painless. I highly recommend this location to everyone. Guaranteed satisfaction.
Enterprise is easily the best rental car company out there. Friendly, personal and no surprises. Samir, who helped me out at the Chicago location, was very kind, professional, and so quick! I stopped at a facility in Asheville, NC as well. I didn't catch the name of the employee that helped me get a few things worked out there, but he was also wonderful. I would definitely recommend Enterprise, especially this Madison Street location and the Asheville location off Tunnel Road.
Very helpful and professional, intelligent staff. Clean car. Super easy to pick and drop off, they don't make you walk up a sketchy garage, they bring it to you. They answer the phone and have a positive attitude. I forgot my receipt and they kindly emailed me it. I used Hertz the week at the 188 w Washington location because my company makes me order through them and it was a disaster. If you are getting a rental in west loop, I'd go with this one.
Arrived at the rental office where we were told a series of lies. First she said they had no sedans available which we had requested but later it was revealed that wasn’t true. Next she said the highway tolls had to be paid in cash, also not true. When we revealed we had just $3 she said it would be enough, not true. Finally we discovered the cigarette lighted didn’t work so we couldn’t use our GPS. Our experience was less than satisfactory.
I was satisfied with the car and price. I was disappointed in the reluctance of the staff to pick us up from the train station and to give us a ride back to the train station when we returned the car. This is a main reason I like to use enterprise - because "we'll pick you up". I use a walker and transferring luggage from a rental car to a cab and again at the train station is more than a notion - even though they agreed to pay for the cab!!
There are no signs directing you to the pick up and drop off entry points. I wasted time and gas circling the block several times in an attempt to understand where I needed to go (if you’re wondering, it’s the roundabout for the Presidential Tower building). When you finally enter the building, be prepared to stand in front of the two sliding doors as one will not open until the other closes, and they open and close extremely slow.
They don't answer the phone! I was trying to make an online reservation, which would not load so I decided to call, but I was placed on a 20 min hold. Eventually I hung up and called again and I was placed on another 25 min hold, after which it told me the call cannot be transferred in spite of the automated voice constantly repeating that a rep would be responding shortly. Just a waste of time and their website is broken.
Awesome experience overall, the level of professionalism demonstrated by counter staff along the friendly service provided made me feel as if I had made the right decision about choosing this location to rent from. Ms. Tisha Nash continue share your knowledgeable and caring attitude towards the next customer and so on I have doubts this will assist you in reaching great aptitudes with Enterprise. Thank you Kenn Smith
This was what proved to be a great weekend! Needed a car for going to a baby shower and helping bring gifts to new mom’s home afterwards. Got a wonderful, large trunk vehicle that was really appreciated!! The employees on the pickup and return were truly caring and showed sincere customer service. I have.rented for 20 years and will continue to do so. Mary Barnes
I have been renting cars from this location for the past 4 year's and I can definitely say that staff are alwaya kind and professional especially the assistant manager Brandon Coring is awesome !! I appreciate the service at this location and I would continue to use it as my firat choice rental car company. Thanks !!!
No issues with service or staff. The issue is with the odd timing and cost. Where other car rental services are open till 8 in downtown even on staurdays and are cheap this particular location is costly and closes early and there is no late drop off. It is like you are restricted when it comes to their service
This was my 1st renting without going through my insurance. Rented from them before with the best experience. This location was unprofessional and no customer care at all. The person was just hiding behind the computer. It was an emergency and on top that I had to deal with bad customer service.
Very bad customer service. I returned the car 30 minutes late and they charged me 50% more than the original price and now I have to spend my time calling back and following up to get my money back. This is the worst enterprise I've ever been to and I have rented 100+ cars. Do not go there.
My experience at the specific location was horrible. I wrote a review a couple months ago (which I no longer see available). The Care Team reached out and asked that I follow up with them directly, no response. I suggest using the National Rental Car Service a few blocks away.
Reserved a car. Only availability was a van and a Nissan Armada. Too many blind spots with the van. Took the Armada. Cost a fortune in gas, bulky and not easy to drive for Chicago city streets. Received a credit but hardly helped with 12 miles to the gallon. Disappointing.
I Googled Union Station areas for car rental. I called others in the area - but enterprise was quick to answer the phone, offer me rates 1/3 lower than the others, quickly reserve a car for flexible dates AND pick me up at the train station. Call and ask for Jacob!!
Representative was quick and efficient without rushing me. The pick up and drop off were flawless and one of the easiest parts of my trip! The car was in great shape and rode smoothly. Affordable and flexible with keeping the car an additional day. Highly recommend
This is the best enterprise location you can ask for. I have been using it for more than four years and i still would like to pick up car from there even i moved. I have worked with several office managers at this location and every each of them did a great job!
I've dealt with several of Enterprises locations--I've always had a good experience. The staff has always been professional, friendly, & courteous. Only slightly disappointed on two occasions (out of many) when I wasn't totally happy with the vehicle I was given
We were on vacation, and this was our first time renting from Enterprise. The day before, we confirmed our reservation for a mid-sized SUV, but 5 minutes before our arrival, was told that a mini-van was the literal only car they had on the
The Enterprise agent in downtown Chicago was courteous and helpful. The car was ready when I arrived, and I was on my way in less than 5 minutes. The same agent attended to me when I returned the car. He was equally efficient at that time.
I was treated well upon arrival and the agent was kind enough to call me to check on my status the day I was leaving because I had a family emergency and they closed at 5p. My issue is with the location, directions and visibility of the
I've always had a very pleasant experience with this location. I rent from enterprise a few times a month. Great company. The parking can be a little challenging at times for the return. But that's the only downfall that I see.
Best place to rent a car! I was running behind for the drop off time and they were very understanding. The gentleman who helped me had next level customer service! Awesome experience with enterprise at 555 w Madison street!
Quick and easy. Really nice employees. Cars are usually nice! If you're a regular, you can sometimes get upgrades - which is the BEST. Also, most of the cars come with top-notch safety features, which I really appreciate.
Staff was polite & informative despite the ignorant people they had to deal with. That where making the line slower. Water was offered to us as it was very hot that day. Not enough staff & inventory on common vehicles.
I’m glad I picked this location for the rental I needed. Walked in and 10 mins later I was leaving with a car. They work fast and efficient and it’s all about satisfying their clients. Highly recommend it!
Enterprise has one of the best car rentals around. The prices are very reasonable and the cars are always good. The staff is always amazing and incredible and always take care of any issues that arise.
We were told on the phone while we were making our reservation, we did not need a credit card. When we arrived the clerk told us we HAD to have a credit card. No rental for us.
Very pleasant place to rent a car. Staff is very friendly & customer service is outstanding. I had a wonderful experience here & would highly recommend renting from them.
Good folks with really nice friendly personalities. Helpful and considerate, especially in a large metropolitan atmosphere. Would use this facility again in Chicago.
This was excellent customer service from Brandon at 555 W Maddison Chicago. On time, prompt, good car, great instructions and tips for international driver.
Spoke to I believe Joe on Saturday, 12/3 at the 555 W. Madison location. He was monotone and conveyed no care to assist or support me with my reservation.
They are truly professionals at Enterprise in the Downtown Chicago location. The BEST location that I have ever been to. Keep up the fantastic work!!!
Well I was given a car on a Snowy day in which the Wiper Fluid was frozen! Spoke to the receptionist who said they may have mixed water with it!!
Car was nice, however, did not love picking up a rental that was almost on E for gas. Who wants to start a trip out searching for a gas station?
Vehicle was clean and in good condition. Customer service - excellent. Competitive pricing. Always a good experience with Enterprise.
This is as convenient as a downtown rental can possibly be. No tight structure to navigate and they have cool people working there.
Easy to talk and make things adjust as per need. Totally helpful staff and within Presidential Towers access is just cherry on top
Kimberly Ramos Is Rascist and needs to be fired immediately Don’t Not go to this location to rent a car very poor customer service
Great service with a smile. They picked me up at the MegaBus location and got me on the road in no time. Will use again.
Super great rental experience. Great car with great customer service. I travel a lot, and this team was great!
Had a reservation. They had no cars and said it would be 2 hours wait. Missed my nephews birthday. BS company.
Easy process, quick service, nice staff, take a car and enjoy the trip. Wonderful experience.
Fantastic service, fair prices, great employees, and an absolutely convenient location.
Staff were very helpful and thorough professionals. Keep up the good work!
I dropped my rental car off here and the staff were very friendly.
Very professional and fast. Great clean modern vehicle. Excellent!
They did a great job of getting me my car really quickly!
