This place was unbelievably bad. It took us about two hours to get a car from here that we reserved online. Most of the time was spent waiting in line. The people behind the counter were perfectly polite. But one woman in particular spent a great deal of time trying to scare everyone into buying the additional insurance. She would say things like "It will cost you €14,000 if your car is in an accident." Unfortunately, most customers let her go on rather than just putting a stop to it, so it was a long process. Once we finally got the keys, the next phase of our misery began. The cars weren't ready -- some were scattered around town and there was a runner who brought them back -- so there was a large line in the garage. It took about half an hour to get our car after we got to the garage. I would definitely avoid this place, especially when you consider that there are numerous other rental companies very close by with similar prices.

Twelve days after I wrote the review below, I received an invoice for more than $400 for a scratch on the bumper. This whole operation is a ripoff. First they offer me insurance options for at least $400, with a deductible which would not even cover a scratch, then after I refuse and use a card that includes insurance, they find a scratch on the bumper at return and charge for it to be repaired. A scratch on a bumper is a normal wear and tear. I should have walked to one of the next door rentals on the same street, instead of going ahead with Europcar. I can't believe Europcar spoiled the memories of a wonderful vacation. Why??? ____________________________________________ The whole experience was good except at the pickup the insurance rates they offered were outrageously expensive, making the rental price twice as much. I used a credit card that has rental car coverage, and declined their insurance.

DO NOT RENT FROM EUROPCAR! This Europcar locatino actually doesn't have all cars so they sent us to the one in the center after paying, this is what happened after: Very shady they did not review the car before giving us the car even though we asked. Then they just gave us the keys and told us to walk to the car which was under a bridge in a tight and very dirty/smelly tunnel :s. When returning the car they said there was some damage in the car, crazy! we of course objected to it since we did not do anything to the car. After they said it was OK that we did not need to pay anymore... A few weeks after we see a charge of 341.86 euros!! such a scam, now we are dealing with all the hassle of calling the main EuropCar office which of course does not want to give us our money back. DO NOT RENT FROM EUROPCAR! they just don't care.

Ordered a Volkswagen but was given a Fiat. Staff said it's a bigger car but same price, so took their offer. Staff did not went through any inspection together upon collection. Wanted to pay cash but staff insisted on credit card instead. Later that I know that over 2 weeks after returning to my home country, I am suddenly accused of damages to the car mounting to over 500Euro!!! Damages that are not committed by me but was asked to pay!!! Till date I am still seeing credit card charges in my card statements from Europcar.... Do not pay using credit card. And take photos of your vehicle to safeguard yourself!

Allant retirer une voiture loué pour la semaine et devant partir juste après le retrait, j'ai eu la mauvaise surprise de me voir facturer le double du montant payé pour le fait que je n'avais que 25 ans (surcharge jeune conducteur (avec 7 ans de permis), me laissant le choix de me faire raquéter ou de perdre 200 euros. Les agents ne sont pas clairs sur les explications demandées et essaye de vous faire avaler la pillule. Je met deux étoiles car la réceptionniste avait l'air compatissante, mais cela faisait sans doute partie du numéro de charme. En tout cas, europcar, c'est finit pour moi.

I reserved a car on a Sunday (8/11) to take on a Tuesday (8/13) with no deposit in the peak of the season. Everything was explained to me when I'd told her what I was doing, and they tried to save me money by telling me to book it online,but it didn't matter that much to me. The car was there on Tuesday and after brief paperwork I was on my way. I brought it back the next day, waaaaay over the milage I was allotted and was charged for it- which I'd anticipated. They were nothing but kind and courteous to me and I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

Booked and paid for a car online and then went to the Nice promenade location to confirm (lucky I did) they wanted two credit cards, my passport and license for a $250 hire. I only had one credit card but with a high limit, I wasn’t advised at any time of this pontential issue by Europcar they just said no at the desk and screwed up our plans for the next day to drive to Cannes. We went to Sixt two doors up and they were absolutely fantastic, I gave them 5 stars

Wir haben ein Auto gemietet (Fiat 500) für einen Tag. Die Mitarbeiterin war sehr nett. Einziger Nachteil: Das Auto muss bis um 17.00 Uhr wieder zurück gebracht werden (da keine Schlüsselbox vorhanden und die Filiale dann schliesst) - sonst muss man es beim Bahnhof zurück bringen (da dort eine Schlüsselbox ist) und dies kostet extra (17 Euro). Sonst lief jedoch alles super, die Mitarbeiterin zeigte uns das Auto und alles war prima.

They tried hard to force insurance on me even though I told them my Amex covered it. The person working there told me it was mandatory, even though it wasnt. had to call Amex to get it off. Also, Sixth charged me for a ticket that I wanted to contest and charged me a "processing fee" for the ticket. I won't be back, that's for sure. What a racket.

Terrible terrible service. Parking lot is poorly marked and no where near the facility. You have to go search for it. No one is at the parking lot so you have to walk back and forth. The front of the Europcar has construction so, it’s impossible to park near and figure this out. Sixt next door has a much better situation

The attendant was nice when picking up the car but he added a roadside assistance option which I had explicitly declined by sneaking it into the one-way return fee. Beware of extra charges on the invoice before you sign! Edit: customer service got back after 2 weeks and did absolutely nothing to address the issue.

I rate it 2 because of friendly staff. But not efficient tough. To pick up a pre reserved car at 10 o'clock should be easy. No line. Only us. The car I ordered wasn't ready. Not washed and we had to wait until they filled it with gas. It took 40 minutes. Bad.

Location did not have a vehicle with an automatic transmission in the class I had booked. Customer service representative gave me a free upgrade to a premium vehicle with automatic transmission. Excellent rental process and service. Convenient location.

Этой фирмой пользуюсь очень часто. В последний раз взяла машину. И кто-то на парковке мне ее задел. Краска ободралась 1 см. Снимали с меня 300€. Ужас!!!! Я поняла на чем они деньги делают. Больше туда никогда не пойду. И вам не советую!

Absolutely terrible service. They gave my car away and requested I pay an extra 60 euro for a worse car. I never leave reviews even if I have a terrible experience but this one was truly awful. Stay away from this place, it’s a scam.
