Honestly, this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced, I don’t think there is an option for minus stars. I am the most patient person, but I have reached breaking point with this company. I ordered my bike through the cycle to work scheme back in February 2020, meaning I am already paying for a £120 bike from this store through the year. I made sure the bike was still in stock, I got an invoice for it, I even put an extra £50 deposit down in store to make sure it didn’t get sold. I was told it was on its way to the Bristol store in March and the next day I rang to check and they said the delivery driver had gone into isolation - which is fine (not ok for the driver) but I obviously understand the issues with covid etc. and so I waited patiently as then the store closed for several months. (I’ve had to walk back and forth to work since November and have been going in as a key worker so none stop walking everywhere in Bristol, awaiting this bike to help me out). About a month ago now I discover from a friend that click and collect service has resumed and the store is currently open. I heard friends were ordering bikes there and picking them up too, and I had still not been contacted as promised by the store. So I try calling to check up on my order, can’t get through to the correct option because nobody picks up and it then goes dead. I try going into the store on my lunch break and it’s got a ‘limited number permitted’ in store at one time, so couldn’t resolve it there after waiting 15 minutes outside. I am given an email, and there is no response to now two of my queries. I then discover an email, in late May, saying they have sold all lines of stock related to the bike I have already paid for!? No apology, no solution, no bike replacement, just asked to collect my deposit from store... I phone again to a different option, speak to a guy and he says he will pass on my info to his managerial team, and I still have had nothing and it’s been a week and a half now. So no, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, I’d stay clear away from it in fact if you don’t want to deal with complete incompetence and lack of customer service, and lose your money to an imaginary bike. Still waiting for a solution
If I could have given 0 stars I would have. I bought a bike out right from the Bristol store and collected it on Wednesday 24th June. I got it home and found a number of problems with the bike, loose headset, bars not straight, as if the bike was taken out of the box and given to me, had constant problems with it so I took it back, they so say fixed it and I tested it again, still broken so I took it back to be told it cant be fixed and had to have another bike. Second bike came eventually after 2 weeks and I had non stop problems with that one aswell, again as if it had been taken out of the box and given to me. I kept taking it back to be told that one as well was a write off and I needed to choose another. I found another and had to wait another 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks until the point it was not coming and I had to get my money back. I had to do all the running around and chasing up, had to even tell them ways to fix the first bike as it was still in the shop and I was desperate for a bike. The staff do not know what is going on, never answer the phone and tell you what you want to hear to get you out. The bike techs that worked on my bike were shocking, bearings not set right, shock put in the wrong way, bars still not straight on return and loose bolts. I contacted customer relations and got a instore gift card, then I said I'm going to contact them again and got another gift card and asked to keep the issue in store, I guess so customer relations dont find out again. Now I have my money back which I had to do through the bank as they kept giving excuses why they couldn't give it back, I've gone to Trek and got a better bike with better customer service. DO NOT TRUST THIS WASTE OF SPACE COMPANY WITH YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!
Appalling service received from Evans cycles Bristol. Booked bike in to replace broken part, promised a phone call in a couple days to get an update. Days pass with no communication , I try calling but they don't answer the phone. When I do eventually speak to someone its 'oh yes we've ordered the part and it will be ready in a few days'. More time passes still no communication, eventually speak with someone else and says 'bike fixed and ready to collect following day', great stuff. Next day I actually received a phone call from the store! But this is where Evans failed miserably!! "The part has not been delivered as it needs to be paid for by you first" It took them seven days to work this out and tell me! I called the bike manufacturer and was told the part costs £15 including postage. Evans told me on my first call it would be £25, so I assumed they're charging me the extra for fitting. On the second phone call was told it was be fitted for free! On the third phone call was told its £15.99. This still wasn't adding up! When I challenged this the guy on the phone said "yeah we can do it for £15"!!! So I took the bike away unfixed and very disappointed with the service received. Lots of time wasted, both in store and on the phone. Lesson learnt avoid this shop! Gonna fix the bike myself as the manufacturer could get the part to me the next day - now that's customer service!
Long story short - good shop, polite and helpful staff, but they don't seem to do bike servicing anywhere near as well as the local workshop! Evans has been my "go to" bicycle shop up in Bristol whilst I have been at uni in the city. I managed to get some decent shoes and pedals at a really good price with a discount I found in a magazine and their staff were very helpful. More recently I called asking for a gear service as well as having bar tape put on and possibly a brake service too. The person I spoke to on the phone but me down for a gear service and bar tape and told me that I could easily change what I needed done one the day. The day came and I took my bike in, I told them they no longer needed to do the bar tape but I would like them to quickly check out my brakes as well as making sure the inner cables were ok on the gears. They told me that they didn't have time to do this due to lack of staff and that they didn't expect to change the inner cables for my gears. They also couldn't put a price on how much it would cost as it is done on time. I politely refused the basic service and said that there was some sort of misunderstanding when I spoke over the phone. So, instead, I'm having my bike serviced at home where the mechanic puts a price on the work and makes sure that it actually gets done regardless of time. He also fits bar tape for free (not £10).
Terrible customer service! I was told if I ordered a bike online into the shop and it didn't fit I would be able to get a refund or replacement. I was also told that I would receive a call when my bike was ready to be collected. At this point, I decided to order a bike into the Evans Bristol Shop for collection. Almost 2 weeks went by and I still hadn't heard anything so I decided to go into the shop to enquire what had happened to my order. I discovered the bike was there waiting for me but Evans failed to notify me. As I am new to mountain biking I asked the shop assistant multiple times if he thought the bike was the correct size for me, this felt like an inconvenience to him and he wasn't able to help. After cycling from the shop to my home (5 minutes) I had my doubts that the bike was a good fit so I called Evans to ask what I should do next. The sales assistant on the phone was very rude and obnoxious and said "well we didn't make you buy the bike did we" and essentially told me that there wasn't anything they could do. At this point, I decided to go to Trek Bicycle Bristol for some advice. In contrast, they couldn't have been more helpful! They spent 15 - 30 minutes with me adjusting my bike, giving me advice, and didn't even charge me! I will never be going to Evans again and I couldn't recommend Trek enough!
Fantastic shopping experience with them, they couldn't be more helpful! My wife and I went in to Evans last week to purchase a bike and accessories under a Bike2work scheme. We went with a rough idea of what we were looking for, and just wanting to see what was available after Giant Bristol had let us down. They had a range of bikes in store, across a wide range of budgets, whcih I was surprised at given the lack of stock most stores are experiencing. We were met and greeted quite quickly once in store, and given guidance as to what was where in store. We quite quickly narrowed out choices down to a single bike and the advisor was great in getting it arranged for us to be checked over and helping us decide on accessories. He literally couldn't have been more helpful. He spent time with us going through our accessories, and his advice was spot on, down to lumens ratings on bike lights and the impact on visibility. He also made sure we were getting the right tools for the application, matching accessories to use. We could not be happier with the customer experience. The only issue we could maybe have, and it is a corporate decision I guess, is there were people in store not with face coverings who weren't being challenged.
Had issues with delivery as the courier Evans use couldn't find any record of my order. After this had been sorted my bike finally arrived. I had ordered Evans cycles own brand of bicycle, the Pinnacle Kapur 1 2020 model. After receiving my bike it arrived with a slow puncture in the rear wheel which was unfortunate as I was ment to be riding it home that evening. I pumped the tyre up as much as I could and test rode it for less that 20 meters to realise the chain was super loose and slipped going into gear, not engaging with the sprocket. Then realised the front wheel had a slight buckle in it. I had been emailing Evans directly but the customer service is pretty poor, they said there is nothing they can do and was advised to take it into store which is 20miles away. As this is my only form of transport at the moment I will have to carry it on 3 busses and a train ride. Still after this I had to phone up Evans to book it in for a slot which isn't easy with the height of summer approaching us. A very bad service for a brand new bike which wasn't cheap. More than likely wouldn't use them again.
Abysmal service from start to finish. Took online purchased bike into bristol store to fix small issue under warranty: - Utterly disorganised (lost my bike in a stockroom instead of it being in the system to be looked at). - Staff with no clue about customer service - called after not hearing anything for a few days and was told "it will be done in the next day or two. or maybe week and a half". Asked for a call back with a more precise ETA! Didn't get one, as i suspected i wouldn't from the tone of the call, despite being promised I would! - Tight. Went in next day to chase up, and a mechanic had a look at it there and then. Issue was a simple contaminated brake pad (supplied like this, not done by me!). Mecchanic said he'd fixed it by sanding disc and pad lightly. Went in to collect bike - issue not fixed at all. Asked if they could just change the pad. Not willing to do this, have to go back through the online Evans service. Ridiculous, waste of time. Will do it myself!
Recently bought two bikes at £6000 and the advice and attention from Elliot was fantastic! We had an upgrade to one of our bikes as it was out of stock so they gave us a better model at a discount!! well informed throughout the build process, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and no question was to much to answer. I wanted a trek and Certain bike shops we won't mention should take note, as the whole bike elitism and look down the nose attitude to customers wont wash, lost business there and non of this at Evans, very patient and happy to help with all the questions I had which I should expect at £6k. They defiantly went the extra mile to ensure a correct decision with regards to our bikes I cannot fault them. Elliot was very helpfull and professional. Remember these guys have only one pair of hands and good service takes time so be patient and stop moaning. I Will always shop at Evans thanks guys, superb service!!
I purchased a bike from Evans Cycles that turned out to be too large for me due to a sizing issue. They were very helpful in allowing me to return the bike for a different model. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, I had to return the second bike. I was then chasing a refund for about 3.5 weeks which I've finally received today. I am rating Evans Cycles as 5* ONLY because of the incredible dedication and support of both Joe and Theo who have worked non-stop in raising my case with HQ and their IT department to get my refund delivered to me. I understand it was not their fault and in no way is it reasonable to hold them accountable for a terrible system put in place by their HQ, but what deserves to be recognised is their efforts in remedying the situation. A huge shout out to them both, as well as everyone at the Lewin's Mead store for assisting me.
My partner was looking for a mountain bike. Nothing too special in terms of difficult terrain, just to be able to ride local canal paths etc with the choice of a bit of dirt. Went into Evans cycles after parking in NCP around the corner. Was asked if needed any help I explained what we were looking for. We were asked our budget which was £350 max. I know it’s not much in the big scheme of the mountain bike world but it was plenty for us. When we mentioned the budget we were taken to the opposite side of the shop and told ‘these are all the bikes we have’. All men’s bikes not one women’s! No further advice or interaction other than to say the rest of our range is on-line service and then he walked off. Shocking service, we were in there no more than a minute. To add insult to injury, total time parked, 2 minutes at a pound a minute. Total waste of our time.
Having not ridden a bike in ~10 years, i was a bit out of my depth when deciding to buy a bike back in September. The team were super useful and gave some great tips for what to consider. Since then i've covered over 300 miles confidently on what is one of my best purchases! I've gone back several times since to buy bits and pieces (a dangerous habit!). Also once for a complimentary service on the bike, and again today to get some help fitting new clip pedals. Mike happily changed these over for me free of charge, and without any fuss. Outstanding service from a friendly (albeit very busy team). Suggestion for management - get some more heads on the shop floor if you can afford it. The team is always flat out juggling multiple customers, so I understand why some reviews comment on struggling to get served. Your staff and customers will thank you :)
If you could give zero stars that's what I would give. I bought a bike Oct 16 which had an annoying click. I took it back and was told there is nothing wrong. March 17 the back wheel failed. I am now told it it is reasonable for me to wait 10 to 14 days for a new back wheel. I told then this was my main commute transport. I was told that the bike, a Scott is is under warranty and the wheel needs to go back to the manufacturer, be inspected and only then can they send a replacement. I pointed out that I bought the bike from Evans not from Scott, and I expected Evans to replace or repair. I was also told I was foolish not to have a back up! Seems you have to buy two bikes from Evans and expect your new purchase to fail. Never mind being called foolish, I would not expect shop staff to bow and scrape but insulting customers ?
5 star experience. I'm new to cycling and got cyclescheme voucher through yesterday and decided to use it at Evans Bristol, given that it's one of the biggest cycle stores in central Bristol. I didn't catch the name but had really great and friendly customer service experience with one of the employees. Lots of sensible and helpful recommendations (didn't sound manipulative or over-selling) and was able to compare products and tailor certain products best suited to me based on exactly what I needed! Part of me was nervous as I feel like I have very little knowledge of bikes and bike parts. But I received extremely good service and also my shiny new pedals fitted for free! I was about to ask if he wouldn't mind doing it for me... but then he offered first! What a legend. All the best!!
I had booked a ‘good service’ at the store approximately 1 week in advance via the online booking system. Upon arrival I was told almost immediately that they would not be able to complete said service because they did not have enough time. I was informed that the online booking system only allows for one hour for this job to be completed but it is actually almost a 3 hour job. Clearly there are big issues at hand in relation to the companies booking system and the workers responsible for carrying out the job. I was turned away, despite my advance booking, and instructed to rebook for a weekday as they would more likely be able to complete the work then! I would not recommend this service - waste of a journey into Bristol to just be turned away with a bike still requiring repairs.
Sent me the wrong items and accused me of making the mistake then eventually blamed it on a website error when i proved them wrong. They then told me to send the items back at my expense and they would reimburse me the postage cost. It took over a month to get the full amount of money back and that was only because I was chasing it up and threatening them with legal action. They also try to refund you by e-vouchers Instead of paying you your money back into your account. I wouldnt be exaggerating by saying this is the worst costumer service I have ever experienced. They take days to reply to simple queries and go round in circles. No way to talk to anyone by phone. Terrible company. Please dont use them, you will be wasting your time and possibly wasting your money.
I was recommended to go into the store by my Spin teacher as she told me the staff would fit cleats to my shoes if I bought them there. Just to add, they don't as a rule, but if they are free, they are happy to do so. Both members of staff were really friendly and both had a go at fitting my cleats. Other shoppers came in as I was waiting, so of course, told them I could wait and offered for them to be served as they were purchasing more expensive items. That seemed only fair! So, cleats successfully fitted, they also helped me with sage advice about comfort and secure fitting to the pedals. All in all, a really pleasant experience, friendly dudes and worth a big up!
This is aimed at Evans nationally, not the Bristol store. I was provided with a refund card after bringing back an item for my birthday shortly before COVID kicked us all around. I forgot about the refund card. (I had other things on my mind!!!) I got round to using it 2 weeks ago and guess what, it’s EXPIRED. I appealed for some generosity of spirit from Evans, but nothing. The more I share my story the more I realise this is not an uncommon response from Evans. I am still waiting and I will keep asking. Until satisfied I will do my best to highlight their credentials to others and hope they warm up and be nice.
Bike shops are usually quite hard to navigate when the item you need is non standard, but this particular store has an excellent layout. I found everything I needed with ease and I found the staff very friendly and helpful, especially a man named Mike. His attitude was exactly what I have always wanted to get from shop staff - he was patient, extremely well informed and had a good sense of humour yet remained professional throughout. I will definitely be returning, and even though I tend to favour independent businesses, this chain store has won me over for sure. 10/10.
I had unfortunately hit a pot hole at 20mph on my road bike recently and the wheel was completely beyond repair. I went into Evans Bristol and I was helped by Mike & Elliott to find a replacement front wheel. They were able to help me find a suitable wheel very quickly and at a great price. I was in and out in no time and noticed how helpful the other staff were asking other customers if they could help them around the store. Looking forward to getting back onto my bike, special thanks to the team @ Evans Bristol, I will be back for any future bicycle needs. Stuart.
Always good going here, usually very helpful with bike maintenance stuff. I haven't purchased a bicycle from here, but I am planning on getting maintenance done here. I recently went in looking for some replacement axle nuts for my fixed gear, wasn't expecting that much help but the lad was super helpful and even provided a spare nut free of charge. He seemed genuinly really interested in the problem and asked questions about my bike, which is pretty rare nowadays for a bike shop, especially a chain! Wish I got his name because I'd be shouting him out here!
Made a special trip to the Bristol branch to look for a bike for my son after speaking to a very helpful person when calling the website. Very disappointed with the service in the shop. Had a shrug from one guy who said he was busy, didn't attempt to find anyone else until I asked and then we had a guy who was more interested in looking out the window, no interest in helping us choose a bike. Stood staring into space, didn't offer any suggestions. Not sure he liked bikes very much. We left and went to another bike shop.
Went to the store to get an update on my Specialized - a service that all Specialized dealers are required to do for free. Initially I was told they wouldn’t be able to do it for a month - a job that takes 2 mins and costs them nothing. Then I was told they could do it the same day by another colleague however I was charged £20. Overall rude service and was told I should have taken it to Specialized. They can just warranty the work and charge Specialized for it but instead want to charge the customer…
I ordered a bike more than 3 weeks ago which stated online that it would be available to collect within 2/3 days. I have emailed, called and yet they do not pick up or respond. Appreciate there is a huge demand for bikes at the moment and on top of that a lack of workforce, however the information they provide online is misleading. They simply do not have the bikes which they are selling and processing more orders and they can manage. If you are looking for a bike quickly then I would probably avoid.
Great bikes but staff are a nightmare, take far to long with service and NEVER answer the phone. I’ve rang 27 times over two days and no answer. I then went into the shop and rang the line to see how the staff would deal with the phone ringing. All staff ignored the phone ringing, one member of staff went up to the phone picked it off the hook, cancelled the call then left the phone of the hook so calls wouldn’t come through. Absolute joke when I’m trying to spend close to £2000 with them.
Riding into work today my chain disintegrated and jammed, leaving me no way to get home. Walked the bike to Evans, 10 minutes later I was fixed and on my way. The kind chap in the shop didn't just fix the chain, he oiled it and set the gears up. When I asked how much he said no charge, but a good review on Google would go a long way. Other shops would have charged a small fortune and frankly I'd have paid without question. Thanks for the great service, here's the review in return!
I highly recommend this bike shop...I walked in without an appointment...spoke with a young man called Matt, who helped me find the puncture on my innertube as my bike pump wasn't working....well at least that's what I thought. Matt the clever clogs informed me I had to loosen the schrader valve so the air could get in to the inner tube where previously I was trying with a closed valve...Matt if you ever read this..A massive Thank you to you and your team...You made my day !
Really good customer service. Have just taken my bike in because my disc brake pistons wouldn't return enough for me to insert the new pads. The lady who served me (Franki) fixed the brake and has really good people skills so am overall very happy. The fact that the Bristol Evans shop always has a queue is testimony to the fact that it is a popular bike shop with good customer service - from people who know about bikes. That's what I think sets it aside from some other places.
Awful! Whilst in the store it took me over 4 hours for staff to build my bicycle and sort out payment. This was after the time I had been told it would be ready to pick up. I have tried for over 2 weeks to get in contact with the store to book in my bike's first checkup and I cannot get through on the telephone or via email. I've now paid a local bike shop to service it, as I'd rather go there than have to deal with this debacle of a store again. Avoid at all costs!
Visited earlier today to genuinely get advice and purchase a bike with about £1000 to spend. I wasn't met with very helpful staff at all and they couldn't even tell me the price of the bike I was shown as it was just put out on the shop floor. The shop assistant even mentioned that after probation they were looking forward to getting trade price on a bike. Good for him. Lost my business, their loss not mine. Dont waste your time and go to a smaller independent.
Joel helped choose accessories and with the sale on, even guided a purchased of a mountain bike to enhance my commute. Being extremely helpful and highly professional, it's difficult to see how Joe could of been more honest and helpful answering all questions, aiding the bike decision. Clever thought out stock and nice people. Brilliant effort and support Joel, much appreciated. Highly recommended especially with the sale on til February. Thanks guys
Really excellent service. Got my son's first pedal bike from here and they did a great job fitting the bike for him, even shortening the stem for the seat so it fitted him properly (he is quite young move to pedal bikes). He (I'm sorry I forgot the guys name) really got on board with how excited my son was for his first big bike and made the whole experience even better. 100% worth going into the shop to speak to the team rather than buying online.
I've bought a number of bikes from evans over the years. They are good in the sale and have a massive stock, especially online and that's probably it really. I've only ever used the free service and only once as it was pretty poor. There are often massive queues and I don't think I've ever been impressed with their knowledge and sales. Buy the bike and get it serviced elsewhere (I wouldn't even use the free one, liable to end up with problems!)
Popped in on a Friday lunchtime to get my brakes looked at as they were barley working on my cycle into work. The guy working was excellent and offered to take a look straight away. He was very friendly and helpful but also shared some knowledge with me so I knew roughly what to do next time. I left feeling great as my brakes were now as good as new, ready for me to cycle home after work and only took about 10 minutes! Definitely 10/10
I had to post a review on the amazing service these guys offer, I purchased a bike on the Evans website (quite spontaneously) and I needed it looking at, plus the tyres changed to something more suitable for me. From start to finish, they were professional and couldn't have been more helpful with any questions I had, or work that needed carrying out. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this store (Bristol) to anyone. Thanks guys.
Bristol store has always been nothing but a great experience. Today I went in to use a Cycle Scheme voucher and was helped and served by Joe who was super helpful even with his arm in a sling He helped me fit a helmet, talked me through the options for cleats (if spelt right) and also processed the voucher which took a while but he was really friendly and gave a great customer service experience. Thanks Joe and the team
I was limited to Evans due to my work cycle scheme. However I have been super impressed with their service. They talked me through my bike options, the pros and cons. All the accessories. I came back several times, got seen by multiple people. Always cheerful and helpful (Matt and Ruben in particular). Honestly I had expected run of the mill high street standards but this Evans branch has been outstandingly good.
Super great shop! I went in to buy a new inner tube for my tyre, the gentlemen were super friendly and very helpful- they even gave me a spanner I needed that they didn’t sell for one pound, and when I came back because of a problem, they let me use a couple of there tools so I could fix the bike. So nice of them! They have. A great store, huge selection of bikes and Bromptons- with great accessories!
This place is a disaster. The workers can't even look you in the eye, and have no interest in helping you. I've been here twice now, and both experiences have been like sticking plastic cutlery into your cheeks until you can whistle The Smiths threw the holes you've gutted out. You'd only want to play The Smiths, because you're so bloody depressed looking basic bike accessories that they don't stock
I bought a Trek Dual Sport + e-bike online and had delivered to Evans' Bristol store. Staff were great getting my bike set up, and price matched accessories without being asked to saving me quite a few quid. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. When my chain broke after only a week (just one of those things) they replaced the chain under warranty without any issues. Very happy with this store.
Great service. I needed to replace my disc brake pads but didnt know which ones to get and dropped in without an appointment on my way home from work. The member of staff promptly got my bike on a stand, dismantled the brakes, found which brake pad was needed, brought out two replacements then reassembled them in 5 mins. Lots of extra advice on brake maintenance too. Lovely job
Having traveled a large part of the world on my bike in the past few years you come to recognise a good bike shop from a bad one. I can only say the team at Evans in Bristol rank in my top ten. Great range, strong workshop. Staff have always helped me out last minute for parts and kit for my worldly travels and races. Much appreciated Keep up the legendary service Evans Bristol.
Joe and the team have been brilliant. New purchase sorted at a great price making the consumer experience very enjoyable from our point of view. We needed some hands on help and guidance and all delivered with great charm and good humour. Even when we did our best to hold Joe up as the last ones in the shop, well after closing time, his help and assistance were first class.
Staff were very unhelpful and rude!, I was trying to get advice on replacing a hanger for my derailleur on my bike, the two guys (especially the blonde one) behind the counter seemed reluctant to 'waste' their time. Looks like they were only motivated by sales! - considering my bike is heavily damaged, I was gonna buy a new bike, its definitely not going to be from there.
I entered the store yesterday with a bike lock that was no longer locking all the way. The customer service was excellent as they fixed the issue. I'd like to thank Ben, Jason & james for their perseverance & patience in fixing my product! Will definitely be coming back for bike-related products. I'd recommend this place for efficient service & excellent products.
Great service from Evans Bristol - the guy that served me when purchasing my Trek Domane last week was excellent (I think he was called Owen? I can't remember) - he was super knowledgable and also helped me with pedals, a helmet, shorts and a bottle cage. They even held my bike whilst I was waiting for my cycle scheme voucher to come through! Cheers guys!
I went into the shop just before 7 yesterday as my pedals weren't working and there seemed to be an issue with the chain. Staff were really helpful and willingly took time (despite closing up) to figure out the issue (my rack had been bolted in so that it interfered with the chain) and fixed it. They wouldn't take money either! Great service. Thanks.
I went into Evans for some help and I absolutely received it. I believe the shop assistant was called Mike and he was incredibly helpful. He took the time to listen and advise, so I was able to leave with everything I needed but more importantly a better understanding of my bike. Can't thank him enough. Would absolutely recommend to a friend.
After my chain snapping after I had purchased a new bike from here, I took it back into the store where one of the workers Frank was extremely helpful and his colleague Fixed it there and then in store free of charge as opposed to making me claim through the guarantee. Really helpful team of people in store and could not recommend any higher
Great service, knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Michael helped me decide on the best bike size, gears, brakes etc for my budget. It was prepared for me to take home to Malta on a plain, rewrapped so well it arrived in pristine condition and was easy to assemble. Out riding in no time. Really nice bike. Thanks to Michael and the team.
To be fair, Sean in the Bristol Store, was incredibly helpful, patient, knowledgeable and lrofessional throughout. A previous call to Julie in Customer Relations (trying to resolve Gore's delivery repeated failure...) was absolutely superb. Customer service and satisfaction as it should be. Very pleased with the purchase and Evans Cycles.
I am new to Bristol and UK. I will be buying a Brompton bike from this shop. The Manager I spoke to was very welcoming and friendly. He explained very well for me to understand. This weekend I came back and he remembered me and it was busy but still two staff were very helpful. I will recommend to my new friends in Bristol to go here.
this store is just terrible don't buy bikes from them. my partner bought a bike from them that was faulty... they took 3 months to fix it and it was all under warranty then they didn't even log the frame number so now we have no record of the bike that's been purchased for insurance/police purposes. just a long and painful joke!
Thank you to the team in Bristol for my new bike. The website was down so I emailed the shop directly who ordered everything in for me no problem. From emailing to riding home took a week. Really great service, incredible advice. I don't normally bother writing these reviews but was one of the best retail experiences I have had.
Popped in last week to get a very worn break pad replaced midway through a 230 mile tour of the West Country. Though their were no appointments available Michael was kind enough to clean and replace the faulty pad along with resetting my slightly loose headset on the shop floor. Great & super friendly service, would recommend.
I was helped by James to pick out some accessories for my bike and he was extremely helpful! He took the time to explain everything to me and helped me choose the right accessories and even fitted my rack on for me. James was excellent all round, would definitely go back there just for the fantastic service I received!
A very nice store. I have read some comments from here before going there to collect my bike I ordered online. I got the impression that the store really improved based on the feedback they got. The employees were quick to ask whether I need anything and went to great lengths to ensure my bike is safe and good to go.
Excellent, friendly service, thanks to Tristan reserved my Trek Domane AL5 over the phone which I collected a week later, set the bike up great, fitted my SPD pedals really pleased. He very kindly gave my wife a free gift which was a really nice touch so thanks again will definitely recommend and use again. …
Such a frustrating and time-wasting experience. Ordered tyres online along with small bottle of sealant. Got an email later telling me they are out of stock. Couldn't cancel the remaining item: customer service is non-existent. I've ended up getting charged a rip-off shipping fee for one small item. Well done guys!
I visited as a relative noob to road biking after just picking up my first carbon bike. I received very helpful assistance from the assistant manager on Monday 28th August in terms of getting me everything I need to go out on my first ride and helpful insider knowledge on how to approach cleats / bib shorts etc.
I went there this afternoon whit a loose cassette and annoying problem whit both tires, which make the bikes jump every second. Even though they were extremely busy one of the mech check my bike and fixed in less then 5 minutes so impressed guys’ll defo recommended this shop and their service spot-on.. …
These guys are so helpful and friendly. They sorted out my tubeless tyre nightmare in 10 mins with no appointment even though they were all clearly busy. While they were at it they adjusted my breaks to remove a tiny rub I wasn’t able to just because they are total professionals and really eager to help
Great experience. Had a tough off-road trip coming up and the designated bike was having lots of problems, so decided to bite the bullet and get a new one a week before the trip. These guys helped me out on short notice, they were thorough and honest. Special thanks to Reuben and Michael for their help.
Sold my son a innertube with a hole in it, refused to pump it up in the shop as said because bike only had 1 brake it's meant too as it's a wheelie bike, he was a long way from home and left stranded, probably refused to pump it up as they knew they sold him a duff innertube in the first place.
Frank and Seamus are really knowledgable, gave great advice and worked really hard to get my bike fixed today. Frank made sure that I knew which parts to buy and helped me save money. On top of that, he was really friendly. Seamus was very quick to sort out the bike. Would definitely recommend.
Great customer service, I went to the shop to get a bike today, the guys were pretty busy with servicing other stuff but they help me a lot with my purchase. Big shoutout for James who was very kind and have tons of patience! I get my things sorted and now happy to ride thank you! …
I’m not an avid cyclist so I thought I’d go into evans to ask for some advice on what my bike needs, servicing and more comfortable saddle etc. i spoke to a lovely young man called Ben, very friendly and knowledgeable, absolute pleasure to talk to. Highly recommend, thank you Ben and staff
I would really recommend this store after my visit this week. Mainly due to the excellant customer service. The guy who spoke to me said he was the new manager but very obviously had great rapport as was dealing with few people at once. I will arrange my cycle to work scheme and return.
My go-to shop for bikes, components and servicing in Bristol. Top customer service, always happy to help out. Just visited today seeking help with a few mechanical stuff and James was amazing in tuning up my bike and clearly explaining to me all I needed to know. Will keep coming back!
Great customer service and knowledgeable staff, James was very helpful and informative about pedals and road cycling shoes. Also great choice of mtb and road cycling products. Such as dmr v12 pedals, clipless shoes, mips helmets, high quality cycling clothing and wide range of bikes.
Shout out for Theo and his excellent customer service today in the central Bristol store. He was a legend helping me with purchase of a bike trainer; went thru the options, sorted out the technical challenges, then helped with a demo of a product that is right for my circumstance.
I went there last Monday with a broken chain and one of the employees helped me in a matter of seconds! Very professional and very efficient. And it is not the first time they get me out of trouble repairing my bike :) thank you so much! Such a brilliant service
Pretty new to cycling and went in today to try and get some cycle shoes on short notice. Matt who served me was super knowledgeable and talked me through all the options. Was really impressed with the help I received and I’m very pleased with the purchase
Picked up the bike today but unfortunately to my surprise it was not the colour that I have ordered. They haven't told me about it. Not a big deal. I only gave 4 stars for that reason. Otherwise I would have given it a five-star customer service.
I needed to change the brakes on my bike and the personnel was super helpful in helping me find the right brake pads, as well as installing them. I also got really good advice and instructions on how to change the handle bar tape. Thanks a lot!!
I cannot thank James enough for fixing my bike at such short notice and in such quick time. I was having the worse week imaginable and was honestly ready to weep in front of the staff. James very quickly put my mind at ease. Thank you James!
My intial experience on buying a bike there was good, the staff member was attentive and helpful. Shame couldnt be said when picking up the bike. They handed over a bike where the gears had not been checked and the gear change was so clunky
Consistently understaffed. Rude, unhelpful staff. Ordered a bike to be available within 10 days; 9 days later it was in the store but was told I had to wait 5 days for a mechanic to be available to assemble it. Was told I could not have it
Avoid Evans like the plague. Bought item online came damaged. Evans over the phone accused me of slashing it with a knife having not seen it. Told to email pictures and in 48 hours at their discretion would refund. Drove 1.5 hrs to Bristol
Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. Never again. An online order can't be amended, so if anything is wrong you're left waiting for it to arrive then you'll have to post it back. Who knows what happens if the address is wrong!?
Always get a good service here, even sometimes when i just have any questions or need a real quick fix they are very helpful. I had a great experience recently, Mike looked at my brakes quickly as they were in urgent need of attention, he
Poor service from the start. I was initially advised my online ordered bike would be 48hrs, then received a call a few days later to say there was a hold up and it would be another week. The hold up wasn’t the issue, but the service was
Just had a check up on my new Cannondale. I had a couple of issues which the store, in particular mechanic James, were really helpful and efficient. James is an asset to the company. Next bike will definitely comes from Evans of Bristol.
Had a bent hanger on my derailleur, after my bike fell over. Evans repositioned and i was able to leave in 10 mins. Brilliant job - well done to the friendly team there, Ed was very helpful in sorting this for me, great customer service!
Evans in Bristol is handy is in the centre of town when all other bike shops are not. They are let down by quite a limited selection of stock. Last time I was in I wanted two things and they had neither both of which I could easily have
Bought a new Cannondale bike here, the staff were helpful and knowledgeable, gave me advice where I needed it and recommended other products. Also very happy to price match the items I was buying with places online that I had found them
Went in with a puncture and a phone on 3% battery. Theo was very helpful, letting me pay before my phone ran out of battery. Put in a new inner tube and pumped it up ready for me. He made me feel very welcome in the shop. Thanks guys!
I had ordered my raleigh cycle online which got delivered at Evans cycle. Overall quite satisfied. I called them after the delivery and they answered properly. Cycle was ready within 2 days after calling. The guy explained about the
I was helped out by James and the team at Evans Bristol. I needed 12 Torx bolts for my disk brake rotors. They were nice enough to give me the bolts they had spare in their workshop free of charge. That helped me out of a tight spot.
Brilliant service from Matt and colleagues! I was unexpectedly unable to collect a new bike from the Bristol store in person, so they made arrangements to deliver it to me in person. Above and beyond, and very much appreciated.
Very impressed, lovely spacious shop, took my pinnacle in to get it set-up correctly after home delivery, and collected it a day later gears working perfectly. The manager also helped me get my pannier rack on. I will be back!
Just needed a spare screw to re-affix my pannier to my old Dawes tourer. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful - and also gave me the screw free of charge. Will be back when I need more serious servicing …
Excellent experience. arrived at the shop without a booking not knowing if it would be possible for the staff to help. Within 5 minutes my bike was fixed and up and running and I was out the door. Great stuff, made my day!
Fantastic service by Matt at the Bristol store. I collected my new Specialized Turbo Levo yesterday and Matt was more than helpful with the hand over & spent a lot of time helping me get the bike set up. Thanks again
Phone answered promptly by a helpful person actually in the shop. I was only asking about a bike box, but they couldn't have been more helpful. Have bought a few things over the years here, never had any problems.
I was and still am so grateful to James and Mike for twice solving the issues of my bike in a quick, efficient and very friendly manner. By far the best experience I have had in Bristol with their kind services.
These guys are always super helpful whenever I go in, I couldn't find a sram barb and compression fitting anywhere and they let me have a couple from their workshop, tops lads, will keep shopping here!
Not sure about their services, they had good advice but their products are double the price of what you can find online. Also no student discount which is wild for a shop in Bristol.
Came in last week and spoke to Joe (I believe that was his name). Needed a replacement axel and they gave it to me for free. Great bunch on guys, so friendly and helpful! Thanks :)
I’ve been here 3 times now, and the guys have always been really friendly and knowledgable (even when I’m not spending big money) Properly good for a chain bike shop cheers!
