The little restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen looks clean and orderly. The woman who took my order was fast and courteous, and she told me my wait time. I asked to run next door to get a coffee, and she told me that was just fine. By the time I came back, my food was complete. hot and fresh to order. It was spicy and perfect. fast for my lunch break. I also want to say this. General Tsos is a spicy dish. Some places allow you to pick your level of spice, however, for those holding the spiciness of general Tsos against them..thats not fair. I suggest you stick to Sesame Chicken. Now, in fairness, I will say, I wish the generals had broccoli in it, but it is not a deal breaker for me. The spring roll was delightful, and my veggie lo mein was also nice. The food was still tasty and well prepared. I appreciate their hard and fast work. I will take photos next time. I know they have a bad reputation. It seems they have made improvements, and I hope they are allowed to recover from things.I had a pleasant experience and will return.

Parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but you have all of walmarts parking lot on the side. It's not that far to walk.
They used the Sweet and Sour chicken to make Orange chicken. The orange flavoring was way too potent, probably because there were orange peels cut up and served in the dish. It tasted weird and had a weird texture in some spots, too, as though it had burned while sticking to a fryer or something? Idk, it had dry hard spots. The sauce was thick and stuck together like jello. I ordered a combo meal, but instead got this makeshift sweet-and-sour-turned-to-orange-chicken, with a side of bland white rice that wasn't sticky at all like asian rice usually is. You should be able to eat asian white rice with chopsticks, but this wasnt like that at all. I go to these kinds of small generic chinese foods all the time, but this was the worst I've ever had. It was also $2 more than what places that also give you an egg roll usually charge. I won't be going back.

There is a previous review that gave this restaurant bad marks and I think they have mistaken it for another Evergreen. I have been to Evergreen Restaurant on the same road as this restaurant and it was terrible in exactly the same way that the other reviewer noted. But Evergreen Express is a hole in the wall at Nippers Corner that is the best tasting chinese in Nashville. When I say BEST I mean FOR ME because I know that people have very different tastes. I have never been to China so I cannot vouch for authenticity, but as far as Americanized Chinese food goes Evergreen Express has the freshest tasting ingredients and delicately balanced flavors in all their dishes. And to top it off their portions are generous for the price so I usually get 3 dishes to feed my family of 5 ($25 tops; beat that McDonalds).
So as much as I wish I was making this up, I was innocently eating my Lo Mein when I bit into something. Thinking it was a piece of plastic it wasn't the end of the world, until I pulled it out of my mouth and saw it was a fingernail. Luckily grubhub refunded my complete order for me, because naturally the person I also ordered food for didn't want to eat theirs after being showed the nastiness I pulled out of my mouth.I'm still scarred by this and will never order from them again. Which is sad, because the Lo Mein was great until I got someones DNA in my mouth
Such a cute little restaurant at Nippers Corner. The lady who took my order was so kind, I paid $6.50 for what appears to be half a gallon of egg drop soup (great portion!) Perfect for my sore throat and it was made very quickly. She asked if I wanted a fortune cookie and her smile was genuine (she gave me two!), packaging was thoughtful. I recommend this place!! Will be coming back.

I've eaten at this restaurant for YEARS, moved away for 3 years and came back and it's just as good. The lady that works the counter is really sweet, and apologetic when I have to wait more than a few minutes for my pickup. I'm really picky about what I eat and they always fix my order exactly how i like it with no questions. Is it the best sit down Chinese I've ever had...no. But they are pretty darn good, and I do take out from them at least once a week.
It’s 3:57 am! My wife and I have been back and forth to the restroom all night! This is definitely my last time eating here! There are too many other options in Nashville with out food poisoning. My general chicken was barely eatable! It was nuclear hot. Heart burn express. You have been warned!

The dinner prices are very high, you don't get a lot compared to others in the area, and the food isn't great. I've tried all the Chinese restaurants and sadly in terms of food and portions, this one is the worst. I do give them props for the restaurant being very clean and nice.

I thought the same thing as MrSStallings. There is (or was) an Evergreen Restaurant closer to I-24 on Old Hickory and it was pretty bad. Evergreen Express is just a little place in a strip mall at Old Hickory and Edmundson. Evergreen Express has always been really good, and the service has been great as well. We like those Egg Rolls too which in deed are similar to spring rolls. We love the General Chicken!
THIS FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING you will never find Fried rice this good I promise you that I have been coming here since 2014 and have been hooked every since its so good I work in Franklin and if I had more time for my lunch break I wood eat here everyday like I did when I lived 10 minutes away no matter how far I move or work I will always go here for THE BEST CHINESE FOOD ON EARTH
Teriyaki chicken tasted off, couldnt eat it (salty, dry chicken). Ordered fried wings as well and they tasted like store bought Banquet brand chicken that was days old and refried (nasty). My wife ordered garlic chicken and was very disappointed in the taste. Wasted almost $35 at this place. Evergreen Express Chinese won't ever get any more of MY money.
I like everything I ever order.. Restaurant is very clean!

I have 2 good things to say about this place - the workers are nice and the food is hot and I would assume freshly made. The taste, however, is nonexistent. I am about to take this home and doctor it up... A LOT. Why doesn't the fried rice have any veggies or flavor? Overall, I would find somewhere else for asian cuisine.

The owners are nice and it’s maybe worth a try. But the chicken is all deep fried breading. I’ve ordered general tsos a couple times and this time it was so extremely hot I couldn’t eat it. It was never that way before. So I wasted 13 dollars. And they’ve microwaved my food before.

Highly underrated and excellent Chinese food place. The Mai Fen (called "Singapore style" elsewhere) is fantastic! My kids love their Teriyaki Chicken with fried rice, and we split an order of Chinese Donuts. We call in and it's ready to pick up in about 15 minutes. There's some seating inside, but most of their business is take out.
We use Evergreen quite often. The food is very good, prepared well and reasonably priced. They are always busy with take-out, but they can usually have your order ready within 10-15 minutes. It's dine in or take out and we have done both. Nice place!

My co-workers and myself placed a $50 order with these people and honey let me just say that they did not put any veges on our chicken/rice combo meals. They also forgot to bring the drink that we ordered. The food was good, but it looks like I'll have to go home and boil me some broccoli to put on top of my meal.
I will never understand why the customer service at Chinese fast food places is so poor. If Iask for fried rice at P.F. Changs and they accidentally gave me white rice I would have received my fried rice with an apology. I wish places like this would take note, and attempt to do better.
The service was very good and pretty quick. Ordered the general tso and it was average at best. Was like a spicy sweet and sour sauce. Their attempt at “fried rice” was bland, not fried, and had nothing other than rice. Prob would not buy from again.
Really good Chinese food with a variety of choices, including vegetarian options. The cooks seem to be willing to take special requests if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. They are genuinely friendly and give great service.
Fried rice is plane, no egg, no carrots, pork is extra. Chicken tasted old and they give you a tiny little cup of very watery sour sauce. If you are looking for a china star type or American Chinese chain this is NOT the place to go.
The food was pretty ok for what I got but what made it not so great & enjoyable was the terrible service I received. The lady was fairly rude and could have been a tad bit nicer towards myself and some of the questions I asked her.
I had the curry chicken and my fiancé had teriyaki chicken, both were delicious. On top of the food being great, the service was also wonderful. The lady at the counter was very friendly and we will be making this a regular stop.
The food tasted amazing until I woke up 4 hours later with bad food poisoning.

Had this place a couple times and the only word I can say is: bland. Rice has absolutely no flavor and the chicken, which is mostly just fried breading, drowns in sauce. Worst Chinese I’ve ever had, and I’m pretty tolerant.
Bland and pricey. Even the wonton soup had no flavor and had to add soy sauce to it. Didn’t eat the wontons. I’m sick and just wanted the broth.

Ordered the general chicken extra spicy. Food was not spicy at all the fried rice is simply white rice with a little soy sauce on it. The chicken and broccoli were tired. I've had Frozen dishes that were better!
Everything we ordered was really very good. General Tao Chicken, teriyaki chicken, chicken Lo mein, Chinese donuts, all of it!

It is horrible. Very limited menu....smallest ever. The food has little to no taste. General Tzo Chicken did not have any broccoli in it at all. I will never go back. Save your taste buds and do the same.
The entree was flavorful and service was fast and friendly. The only issue is that the fried rice needed something... It didn't have any onions, peas or carrots in it. But great place nevertheless
Evergreen Express has some pretty awesome Chinese takeout. It might be a tad on the pricey side but worth it. I especially recommend the House Mai Fen, which is super tasty and has 3 meats in it.
My first time going in there and probably my last time. Food was not good; rice tasted like fish. Chicken was alright. I think the cashier was clipping her fingernails behind the register. :/
It's not the world's most exciting or original menu, but it's close and convenient and QUICK, I love the lady who runs this place she's totally on point with the orders moving fast!!!
Worst Chinese good ever. My friend and i both ordered different items and it was inedible. I will never go back on to of that the lay was rude to us and other guests while we waited.
Best word I can use for this place is consistent. Haven’t had a bad meal yet, and it’s right around the corner from my place so I eat here quite often. Deserves a better rating imo
I ate at this establishment multiple times after moving to the area. I no longer eat here. It is over priced and the quality it horrible. I recommend Fulins. Much better.
Looking for your next local Chinese food place? This is a Great Chinese restaurant here in Nippers Corner. The cream cheese Rangoons are fantastic! …
How do you mess up Chinese food? I don't know, but these guys did. Almond chicken was not fresh, floors were dirty, service was mediocre to careless.
We came during weekend lunch and had excellent service. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken and it was freshly prepared and tasted flavorful.
Had take out and my wife found this in her food. We had already eaten the 2 other plates. When my wife went to get a refund lady was rude.
Has great food. But I was very disappointed by the fact that they did not serve dogs and cats. I would recommend #420 on the menu
Friendly Service, Fair Price, and Delicious Food. I tried Jalapeno chk and Singaporean curry noodles; both were super tasty. :-)
Typical mom-n-pop restaurant. Some real nice options but you have to cycle through all of them to know what you will like best.
Spent $40 on lunch for 3 adults and 1 child. Food was really bad and all three adults got sick about 6 hours after eating.
Bugs in food again. And the only thing they offer is a refund for the portion of fried rice instead of the whole receipt.
Absolutely delicious local Chinese food!

Got general chicken. Tastes like some I made from kroger. No veggies, no drink, no egg roll, no soup. $7.05??? Fail
Hot & sour was good. Food was ready fast. Not much taste or flavor. Smelled like pizza. Wouldn’t order here again.
Very good food and good service overall but I found a piece of metal (which appears to be “brillo”) in my rice.
Very clean and quick service. Teriyaki chicken very good.

Not sure what I just ate. Orange chicken smells rotten after biting through the tough breading. PRAY FOR ME.
Beef n broccoli tastes funky so does the crab Rangoon I am disappointed and Still very very hungry …
It's personaly my favorite chinese restaurant in town. Friendly and fast service, with good food.
The best and absolutely the most fresh cooked to order chinese. Egg rolls and egg drop soup yum!
Friendly service, and fair pricing, but subpar food. Wouldn't recommend.
Best crab ragoon I've ever had and everything else was just as good.
I love Evergreen Express but I cannot take the rude cashier lady..
Their Cashew Nut Chicken is great. Service is fast and friendly.
The jalapeno chicken is the best. Can't find it anywhere else.
The fried rice with shrimp is super tasty. We love it
