They get you in on a special and then after three months they go up to the regular price. They brag about security and have security cameras. There is a gated entrance where you will get a code to enter during the hours that they are open. However evidently just doesn't stopped Intruders because my storage unit was broken into. It took several months isn't to find the perpetrator although they finally did. Someone had broken into numerous units. Now this could happen anywhere at any storage unit and this is in a fairly good area not too far from La Jolla and right near the Miramar military base. I don't know how this could have happened fact it did. I don't appreciate that they went up on their price so soon after I moved my stuff in. I doubt if any of the storage space places have contrast where they stick to the price that they start you with. Renter beware. The unit was nice and the place was always clean and the management seems fine and there is a bathroom available as long as the manager is in the office. Price was fair to start with and the location for me was great.

I've used many storage facilities over the years since I've been in San Diego. Many of which have been great facilities with good customer service. Since I've been with Extra Space Storage on Miramar, I have been pleased with the facility and Blown Away by the Outstanding Customer Service they offer there. The two staff members that Stand Out are... Tom/Tommy and Margie. Tom was very friendly and helpful the day that I moved my things in and he has continued to provide great service ever since. Margie is Exceptional! When she initially booked my reservation on the phone, she was warm, inviting and even helped me pick out the perfect size unit. My husband and I can’t say enough good things about this location! Pat has been so professional, kind, and accommodating to all our requests. When it came to closing out one of our units, transferring to another, then opening one other unit, she happily assisted us all the way. She responds via phone and email promptly which made all our transactions even smoother. As far as the outdoor storage units go, it’s very accessible as you can drive up to them and still have enough space to get work done when needed. The prices are very reasonable and we felt that the area is very safe, especially because there are security cameras everywhere. This facility feels very convenient, and I like that it's mostly on the ground level so I don't have to use elevators or stairs. I do hope it doesn't get too hot or gets flooded, but I guess I will find that out in few months. I was contacted by two very friendly people after I made a reservation online, and they were very helpful in explaining the overall process. Tom was very open about their fee policy, and I really appreciate that. The gate access hours are very long so I don't have to stress out trying to get here before they close. The only thing is, I was told to write a review the first day, on the spot. As much as I understand the importance of having many reviews, I feel like I would want to wait a month or two before I write one. At least I have no complaints so far, and Tom was very friendly.

This storage facility is located in a very convenient area. Has a clean exterior and a nifty access system to the units. In fact the lift system was a pleasant and lumbar saving surprise. However there very best part by far is the staff. Bo for instance is instantly likeable. On top of this endearing trait is his command/knowledge of the policies and procedures. This might seem unimportant until there is a need for help during a hectic move and one needs advice on the best options for storage at the best price. I can't imagine how difficult and costly my storage experience would have been without his help. Heck of a guy, heck of a storage facility. I totally recommend this team.

Great prices! The units are clean and fairly easily accessible. The entire area is tight and compact but nothing you can't maneuver your way out of. I don't think you can beat the prices. Other places I looked were triple the price here. They do month to month and are open to extending if needed. Pat the property manager was amazing! This is my first time renting and she made me feel very welcome. She made the process very easy and explained everything in great detail, especially if I didn't understand. For bang-for-the-buck in the area, Extra Space Storage worked out great. Before our move to San Diego, my wife and I checked out several storage spaces near University City/UTC. The storage lockers in this location are mostly drive-up. This made it convenient for unloading from the moving truck. The two spaces we got were not as "modern" as others in the area, but for storing our garage full of household goods, they have been fine. I reserved on the Internet two times. Both times when I went to the office to complete the paperwork, the online price was honored. In fact, I was offered a lower "promotional" price both times.

This place is amazing!!! The Manager, Pat, is so friendly and accommodating!! I mistakenly let my account lapse…life happens…and Pat made arrangements for me to bring my account current and gave some great advice in the process!! If you don’t need storage, don’t set yourself up for an unnecessary extra bill - but if you DO, I highly recommend this location for the convenience and incredible customer service. Access to your unit is super easy and managing your account online is a breeze. While I don’t need a storage unit anymore, if I ever did again, I would come back here in a heartbeat. Thank you, Pat!

Don’t get attached to your rate. It’ll only be that price for a month or two. Expect a rate increase 3 months in. They will say your rate is stable for 6 months and then increase your rate at 2 or 3 months while you’re out of the country and no way to move your things out. Predatory. Recommend against storing here. I stored here for my last deployment and they did the same thing. The only reason I went back was that storage units elsewhere were full. I was verbally assured my rate wouldn’t increase for 5 or 6 months. Just got a letter in the mail today to expect a rate hike. At the 3 month mark.

This is my first time trying on storage space. Extra Space had made this experience super simple! First of all the website is extremely clear and easy to follow. They have a flash sales offering during the time I was looking for a space, price was very reasonable. Their on line reservation process was very easy. After that they called to verify information with a very friendly phone call to confirm the reservation. He answered all question politely and informatively. Customer service in store with store manager, Mike was excellent. He was very helpful and gave good instruction and advice.

Great folks. Easiest storage people to deal with by far. Don’t require renter’s insurance or anything like that, even though I had it. My point is that you give them the money, they give you the unit, and it couldn’t be easier. Lock your unit, don’t lock your unit; it’s on you as it should be...but they aren’t trying to push a $17 lock on you. They treat you like an adult, and I appreciate that. Something happened with my latch, they took care of it within one day. Super professional, super friendly, and none of the stupid gimmicks. Tom and Stephanie are top notch people.

She has helped me out of more jams.Working for a food broker, we receive so many deliveries of pos.The delivery companies are suppose to let us know in advance ,when a delivery is coming. My son was in a horrible motor cycle accident he needed to have his stuff out of his apartment ASAP. I called Margie she got us in right away & helped with handling it while I was in the hosiptal with my son. I am soo greatful for her helping in such a manner when I needed it the most. The people who run place are extremely nice, storage is adequate. Slightly pricey. It's clear when you see this place that it was taken over by extra soace storage and NOT built new as extra storage place as it isn't up to normal new extra space standard. There is another extra space a few blocks down road that is much nicer in comparison. I saw one unit with hole in wall which isn't what I'm used to seeing from extra space. But its very secure, clean, and we'll run...things you WOULD expect from extra space and they deliver.

This is the first time my wife and I ever rented a storage unit. Mike is great! We've been there since 2021. Clean environment, great customer service, and huge fan that circulates hot air out of the complex to prevent mold and mildew in your unit. There were other businesses closer to my house but Mike's great friendly personality makes the drive worthwhile whenever we see him. I highly recommend this place. Just call for pricing and availability. And no, I don't work there . I'm just a happy camper.

Walked into the office not really knowing what size unit I needed . Stephanie walked us through several different options and gave us details about how to make renting the unit more affordable , (paying in full allows you to lock in your rate) . The units were clean, plenty of cameras on the property and a huge plus that someone lives on the grounds to watch over the units. We’ve only stored our stuff here for about a week but so far very happy woth the facility . Cheapest price around town .

I forget the name of the lady who helped me in Miramar today. (Oct 12/22) She was a little shorter and seemed to be of Hispanic descent. I just want her to get the recognition she deserves. I have been a client of Extra Space Storage going on 2 years. I'm so amazed of the outstanding customer service Margie the Manager has provided me. This last Sunday I went to my storage to take some stuff and did not remember if I locked my unit. The staff at the property was awesome and helpful but i gave this 3 stars due to the fact we had to file a insurance claim and the insurance department wasn’t helpful at all and sucks we paid for extra price of mind with the insurance they offer on our unit and didn’t even get help with our claim had to trash some things. so if you don’t have to file a claim you will be good to go. Even tho it’s not the staffs fault at the property they we're apologetic for our situation.

The staff here is very professional and readily available to always help you. This facility is very well kept in excellent condition and the service here is just as equal. I appreciate the staff, specifically Pat, who provided me with nothing less than excellent service. She was very understanding to my needs and was very helpful and attentive. I had a great experience with this facility. Lastly, they stay open until 10pm which is a huge convenience.

The process to rent out a storage unit was very simple and smooth. I was in and out of the office in 5 min and the storage facility looks very well maintained and clean. The manager working there also lives there so there is added security for your storage. She was a great help to me and even gave me used boxes and wrapping paper so that my furniture woulnt get dirty. I would rent from here again as this place has been treating me well so far.

I was lucky to find this place during the stressful moving period. They have the best deals on the units they offer. Been using this place about a year and a half - it's a shame that Extra Space (independently of the folks who actually run the place) is constantly trying to raise people's rates, so you have to pay attention to when the rates get hiked and see if there's a better rate on the website and call. Pat always tries to work with you to get you a deal and is awesome - seriously really nice. Location is great, too.

This Storage facility has rats or mice! I have a unit in the middle of the complex. I have been there for only 2 months. They have eaten into my belongings in boxes and bags. Left droppings all over my unit. My wife is very upset we house some of our babies belongings and car seat in this unit! I hope any future tenant looks at this review!
