I have a mixed review of Extra Space. The storage facility is very nice, secure, and very clean. However, we had a huge mixup due to communication errors. Long story short - We were trying to reserve a unit in San Antonio from Houston, were unable to do so over the phone, and had to drive to a location in Houston to reserve it. No big deal, except they messed up our size, charged us for a 10x30 but gave us a 10x20. Called the next day said they fixed it, but when we got to SA they hadn’t. Which is frustrating - no one wants a surprise change on a busy day. We drove a U-Haul in from Houston on a time-crunch, and had to wait an hour because no one was there to help us. The manager, Adrian, was on his lunch break - and while he was waiting a line of people started to form. No one expected the office to be closed on a Saturday during business hours. There were many frustrations, but ultimately everything worked out because Adrian was ON IT. He handled every angry customer with respect and understanding, and he did not sit down the rest of the day. He handled our conflicts and those of other customers perfectly, and if I was only reviewing him he would get 10/10. Adrian was doing the job of three people, and needs help and a substantial raise. So Extra Space - give great managers like Adrian the help they need!! And give the guy a raise! Mix-ups happen, and if it weren’t for Adrian our experience on unloading day wouldn’t have been good at all.

Absolutely pleased with the level of personal service, friendliness, willingness to assist, and overall genuine care for clients. Chanel was absolutely fabulous in taking care of me and what I needed. I had to change my unit last minute while the movers came. She quickly looked up for another unit that I’d needed (mind you I was being a little picky) and allowed the movers entry into new unit while she and I did paperwork. Why? Because she was aware of movers charging by the hour and wanted to ensure they were making best use of thier time for my cost!! Who thinks of those things for thier customers? While there for about 2 hours, I noted she and another employee, walking the premises often, and cleaning the areas ensuring the place looked great! Which it does. Very clean, well maintained, and highly secure storage. If you ever are in need of a storage this is the place to go!! Ask for Chanel. She is wonderful and the reason why I’d return to that specific location regardless of convenience. The service, care, professionalism, and attention to my needs - will be why I would return, and be an advocate for them as well. Excellent job to all!!! Thank you for making this move stress free!!

I had a great experience with Extra Space storage on De Zavala. First of all, I had been driving the moving truck all day in order to get to the storage before they closed. I called John at Extra Space to see if there was anyway he could stay open 15 minutes later. To my surprise he stayed open a little later and gave me the best customer service I have ever experienced in my 29 years of existence. Not only did they stay open later for me but John went the extra mile and gave me a great tour through the facilities and made me feel that my household goods were in good hands. Moving can be very stressful at times, however this was the least stressful part of the process. I really appreciate everything John and his team have done for me and I couldn't ask for a more professional and helpful customer service. Top notch storage facility!

Would give ZERO stars if possible. These guys REALLY missed the mark. My entire storage unit was burglarized. I don’t know how this was even possible if you need to enter your code to get into the premises , enter your code again to get into the building and enter your code again to get into the elevator. Our unit was on the second floor. I went in one day to retrieve something. My key did not work. Management said some units were broken into and mine was one of them. EVERYTHING was taken. A unit full of furniture and electronics were gone. We trusted this facility. It was new and seemed to have lots of security. I can’t help but think that this was on inside job. We did purchase the insurance that they offer which is another joke in itself. They dragged their feet and it took MONTHS to get our settlement. DO NOT RENT HERE.

Exceptional. I've used quite a few storage facilities in the past, but none as clean, secure as this one. I'm a little bit anal-retentive, so I appreciate the cleanliness. Also, as a single female, I wanted to store my things in a place that I wasn't afraid to access after store hours and this fit the bill perfectly. Climate control was a must-have for me, and I was happy that my things weren't affected by the weather. In addition, John--who manages this facility--is an incredibly nice, helpful person. It's a pleasure doing business with him. There were only a couple of issues that came up (not the fault of the facility) and he handled them with excellent customer service. For the quality of service, safety and cleanliness, I felt the price was right on the money. Highly recommend Extra Space on De Zavala!

I have never rented a storage unit before. I went in to the location and spoke with Abby who was very helpful in walking me through the process and showing me the facility. I reserved the unit ahead of time and locked in a very good price. I had a couple of questions and spoke with Shannon over the phone while my unit was reserved. He was very helpful and polite as well. Today I went in and paid for my storage unit and began my rental. Everything went very smoothly and I had my code and lock for my unit in no time. The facility is very clean and well lit and I think I am going to be very happy renting here. Abby and Shannon were both very helpful and I received terrific customer service through the whole process. I would highly recommend Extra Space Storage on De Zavala for your storage needs.

Highly recommend Extra Space Storage...in particular the one on Dezavala. From the very first interaction, when I was looking for a storage facility to trust with my belongings, to the many questions I had about security, pests and cleanliness, everyone I came in contact with was super polite, professional and accommodating. I work in a customer service environment and Extra Space Storage gets it right...I'm really curious as to their training program because it didn't matter which location it was or who I talked to, everyone was extremely helpful and professional. The people who work here are phenomenal. Grand customer service, will to assist at all times, and also delivers great instructions when first arriving. I did give this review 4 stars, regretfully, and here’s why; I cannot open the door with out asking for assistance. There’s a funky trick to it, like flicking the handle upwards and pulling with a huge force that I ultimately cannot get the handle of. Even though the customer service is so kind, I feel like a bothersome every time I check on my items because I know I have to bother them to walk down to my door, out of their Air Conditioning, to help me pull the door open. It’s a process I will say that much, however, a great place to hold your items!

Excellent service! James took my call and easily answered all my questions about the storage space i was inquiring about. He was very easy to talk to, polite and kind. Within a few mins i had a unit picked out and contract set up. Albert called to confirm my unit and i was able to meet him the next day where he gave me a tour of the facility- very clean and looks brand new even though its been around for more than 25 years. Albert made sure my code worked, how to get to my unit and they even included a lock so it's one less thing I have to worry about. There are multiple cameras around the facility and I feel very good about my decision to choose Extra space storage!

Great Customer service. Beautiful storage space on very nice well kept property. I said this when I first rented out the space and I’ll say it again now that I have vacated the premises. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful, what do customers want? Well in my experience you get more than what you paid for! The customer service is top notch on quality and performance. On my last day of moving things out. I saw a worker picking up small bits of trash in the parking lot. He asked me how my day was? I said great. Sometimes it’s the little things that matter most. I highly recommend the extra storage space off Dezavala to everyone. Thanks.

This is the second unit that I have rented at this location. I just downsized into a smaller unit and I couldn’t have been happier with a customer service. Sometimes when you downsize the experience is not great. But, Jonathan was amazing! He was walking the property and I asked him several questions about units that were available and, what the logistics would be of moving from one unit to the other. He answered all of my questions, politely and efficiently. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with this location. They are always friendly and accommodating. If you need to store something, this is the place to do it.

Juan was great to work with. He not only showed us the locker that was reserved for us prior to completing the lease, he took ample time explaining the pertinent points of the lease, and ensured we were comfortable with the lock use in the door and our unique entry/exit code. I will be very surprised if we find we have any questions that Juan did not cover during our lease signing. He’s is a very personable, courteous representative for the company. The office area was spotless and the storage unit was also very clean. I would definitely recommend the de Zavala location for anyone needing extra storage.

Extra Space Storage was a great choice for me. I deployed for 6 months and the entire time my stuff with safe. I had no problems getting back in and they were very accommodating and easy to contact when I needed to ask questions. I never felt like my stuff was in jeopardy. And it has a gated entrance with a code. The unit I chose was climate controlled in my paintings and stuff were fine when I came back 6 months later. I also stored my car there which required special insurance but it was very affordable and not a problem at all. In fact it was cheaper than my insurance is whenever I'm driving my car.

The experience of setting up this rental online was amazingly simple. Almost immediately after creating my account I received a welcome call from Victor who explained the rest of the process, codes and hours of operation. The customer service experience was unexpected and wonderful. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the lock was not in the storage unit when we went to move items last night. The welcome email stated it would be in the unit, because we had already brought items to the unit I had to go purchase another lock to secure our belongings.

In world where customer service is such a lost art Alberto is seriously a shining star. From the moment I called Alberto to inquire about details of my unit, to him checking me out of my unit...this man went above and beyond in every single way possible. Need doors opened, he's already there with a bungie cord and a cart! Forgot tools, he's got them readily available! Not to mention how clean he keeps this facility. Please if you're Alberto's manager and see this review, this man deserves a raise! He is the reason for the 4.9 stars and your happy customers :)

I wouldn't have thought to write a review for a storage facility, but leased here recently because of the reviews and, after the experience I had with the facility wanted to make sure I did my part to say thanks to Extra Space Storage for their impeccable customer service and attention to detail. It is rare to find some like John, the General Manager, with such passion for his work. All contact I have had with the facility has been courteous and prompt, with follow-up like I'd expect at a fine hotel. It's pretty darn cool...

I highly recommend Extra Space storage for all your storage needs especially military personnel. I’ve used them about 3 times in the past 3 years and have not had any issues with any of my belongings. They provide excellent customer service. They have climate control units. They also provide carts to assist you in unloading or loading your belongings. Ask for Albert at the 4515 Dezavala location, he’s assisted me with my last 2 reservations and has made it an easy process to get into my storage units after business hours.

Best price\rate for 10n30 in town. After looking all over san Antonio and calling what seemed like hundreds of storage facilities i couldn't be happier with the final choice we made. It's clean and well lite inside unit and out side as well. We needed a unit with 24 hour access and this location was able to grant us this. I amhappy we chose to store our property her. kudos to management for being professional and yet still friendly at the same time. If only other storage facilities could follow

Great experience! The place is so clean and most unexpected when I think of a storage unit. The staff is warm, friendly and very eager to make everything, including us feel comfortable knowing that our things are well taken care of. Channel and Albert showed us around and explained in detail each unit we were interested in. They are so nice and the whole process of renting a unit was easy and comfortable. This place made my moving experience so stress free! I called a month in advance to check rates and they continued to check on me periodically to make sure everything I needed was taken care of. When I arrived Chanel and Dawn were very welcoming and friendly and they even had my file ready for me. The unit and property are extremely nice and clean! I got an extremely low rate and the first month free! Definitely recommend this place to anyone needing storage

Really great that they let you rent month to month. I just needed 7 weeks of storage and didn't care about any deals or long term benefits. That said, the facilities were clean, secure, and convenient. I even received a call from Albert to inform me that my door was unlocked when I'd intentionally left it open to go to the dump really quickly. It hadn't been open an hour and they called to tell me: that's impressive security.

I rented rented a space at the Extra Space Storage Facility on Dezavala today and ran into the most customer service oriented lady I have met in a long time. Chanel was very helpful very patient and did everything in her power to help me in every way that she could for being such a short notice rental. Awesome experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was extremely clean and never had an issue with transportation with their spacious walkways and elevator! They also have top security so I was at ease knowing my priceless items were safe while they were there. Overall loved storing with Extra Space Storage and would definitely recommend as I will always use them in the future.

Great facility. Always fresh and in like new condition. More importantly, the service is outstanding. We hired movers and the day we needed to unload into our unit, there was an unplanned power outage at the location caused by the city so the security doors and elevators were out of service.The manager, Chanel, stepped up and gave us the use of a ground floor drive up unit 3 times the size of ours.

Rachel the manager there is amazing! The ease of renting and finding the right size needed is always a plus! Their level of accomodation, and high security was another big plus..I also appreciated their vast supply of stock that helps pack and lock my rented Unit...I enjoy it so much, I actually decided to rent two Units...I do recommend this storage highly and will say the management is 100%!

I was going to give 4 stars because a 75% cost increase was not communicated to me (notification was sent only via mail, not email) however I was given a refund for time paid, which I appreciate. I love the location of the storage space and accessing it has been very convenient. However, since I moved my things into the unit the AC has not been working. This has been concerning to me since I purchased a the temperature controlled unit. I did speak to the GM and he was very helpful, mentioning he would do his best to address my concerns as soon as possible.

I came in looking for information and was hoping to lock in a storage unit today. We were helped by Chanel and she was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly! She showed us the unit and explained every detail thoroughly. I'm positive I will return to this location for any other storage needs and will recommend this location to others. I knew immediately that the temp control n cleanliness of the place with their great security would take good care of my things. I feel confident having my personal things there. Great security. If I could give 0 stars for this location I would. I gave the office 30 day notice that I would be moving out & was still charged the entire move out amount. Then two days after I was moved out and removed my lock they charged me another month. The office staff does not know what they are doing. If you have the choice to go elsewhere I highly recommend.

This facility is very clean and the staff are very professional. John is great to work with and spends the necessary time to help you select the right size unit for your belongings. I have rented two units from this facility and highly recommend this facility. Kim has also been very helpful answering questions regarding available units and pricing.

I really enjoyed keeping my stuff here. When the pandemic hit I had to move in with my family and all my life was put into a 10x10 unit at their facility. And it was always clean and the property is safe and well taken care of. Albert was very helpful from the time of move in to the time of move out. I would recommend keeping your items here.

We have been renting space at this location since 2007 and always pleased with how the units are maintained. Recently we obtained a unit for my mother after consulting Victor. He was very informative and helpful to us finding just the right unit at the right time - price and location. We highly recommend this company for your storage needs.

Rating it two stars, the facility itself is not bad and is clean but in 1 year, my price on the smallest unit went from $55 to $97. The suggestion was made to drop my insurance….which is not a great suggestion at all. needless to say if you don’t mind a rate change every few months it’s not a bad place. I will be looking elsewhere though.

There’s an option for reserving online web rates. The process coming in to check out the unit was quick and simple. Angela guided me to the best pricing, regarding my moving situation. She is helpful and attentive to questions. Mattress protectors, locks and other essentials are also sold here, which is pretty convenient.
