Facets reset an engagement ring for me 6 years ago. The goal was to develop an incredibly durable setting given my job and that I always wear my ring (sleep, shower, workout). Despite me being given a lower price than what they gave my husband and he paid we moved foward. Ring is beautiful and I love the setting. However I stopped in for the first time after the pandemic to have the setting checked and the woman said the ring needed "MAJOR WORK" and scolded me for not coming in sooner to have it checked and not having a maintenance insurance policy that would cover repairs. She quoted ballpark $2000 to fix the setting which was half the amount of the orignal work. I asked if the stone was secure and she was vague. She said this type of setting should be checked constantly. I told them I would have to think about it. Needless to say, I was angry at the situation. I then went to the non flashy jeweler who is around the corner from me to evaulate. He said the stone is totally secure. I trust this guy as he does basic work really well. It is worth pointing out as well that when I originally had my engagment ring reset I also replaced a missing stone in my wedding band. When I called to pick up the wedding band they said they didn't have it and told me I already picked it up. When I said "no I didn't" they said "Are you sure?". They called back the next day saying they found it. She was apologetic but obviously thinking your band is lost was upsetting. They also "cleaned and maintened" my husbands Tag watch and it came out not working as well as before. I will not go back here. They have beautiful pieces but the service has been horrible and dishonest.

I realize this review is an anomaly but I’m finally writing it because I have given them many chances /. Maybe they are great when they are about to make a ton of money on an engagement ring but for the average shopper the woman there is pretty snotty . Pieces fall apart - 4 experiences over 8 years and none good. stones came off 2 DIFFERENT necklaces one was a gift one was mine - I also bought earrings for my mother and I hadn’t noticed small gold plating worn/ dull chipped ? off - they wouldn’t take them back ! They said she must have slept in them or showered in them - but she hadn’t worn them it’s just that they had been mailed as a gift and then time passed before I got to return them - very snotty encounters all three times. Response to stone coming off my necklace (and luckily landing in my bra )... Again in condescending tone “. You probably sleep in the necklace ...” actually no I’ve only worn it a few times - They said they would put it back on for $60!! $60 to put wire through the stone and twist it? She said “well could you do it ? No you couldn’t “. Ok so they don’t stand behind the work of the pieces they commission. also , my brother in law bought quite an expensive bracelet for my sister - it was lost / slipped off first time she wore it - This can’t be a real complaint as perhaps she didn’t secure the clasp correctly ? but maybe clasp was faulty - anyhow , they’re not very pleasant people and needless to say ZERO of the four pieces of jewelry that my family members or I had are being worn now -

Update: After a very difficult experience with a new staff member, the manager personally reached out and helped resolve the issue in a timely and very kind manner. While the issue with the new staff member was not okay and left us feeling terrible, the manager really turned it around for us and showed that facets is still a place that cares about their customers and their jewelry. Thank you to Irina and Gaby for ensuring we have only the best memories attached to our wedding rings. ——— My partner and I recently got our wedding rings at Facets. We had help from the absolutely amazing Gaby. Immediately we felt like she absolutely understood what we wanted and she took so much time with us trying to find the right rings and ended up figuring out a way to use part of my grandmothers ring to make one of them. She also helped us find something within our (admittedly small for wedding rings) budget and we didn’t feel pressured at any point to increase or change the budget or what we wanted. We’re just beyond happy with what we both ended up with, both rings are better than we imagined they would be and they perfectly feel like us. Gaby is a treat to work with and we both really recommend going to her!! I can’t remember the name of the jeweller himself, but the ring pictured with the smokey topaz was made entirely by hand by one of the jewellers there. He did an incredible job and it turned out so beautifully. I couldn’t be happier!! (I’d give to this whole experience 10 stars if I could!!)

This past September I was referred to Facets Park Slope by a client of mine to go shopping for an engagement ring. I could not have been happier with the recommendation. As an amateur when it comes to shopping for fine jewelry I was scared of being taken advantage of or ripped off, or just being lost in the process. I am so glad that I went to Facets, could not have gotten better service! Irena and Gabby treated me like a VIP every step of the way, keeping me fully informed in the process. Buying an engagement ring is a process as it takes 4-8 weeks depending on how you want to customize your piece, but the wait is completely worth it. They offer a true VIP Conceirge service when it comes to purchasing your engagement ring. Just tell them your budget and an idea of what you would like, and you can sit back, let them do the work, and not have to worry!!! Just like any quality service it is not cheap, but you get what you pay for, quality VIP treatment and product. I was so happy with the ring, and my fiancé loves it! Originally the ring did not fit (that was my fault because I gave the incorrect size), but they resized it swiftly for my fiancé with no issue. Such an incredibly professional and well maintained family jeweler. I plan to return as a loyal customer in future years to come. I will be referring my clients as well. Just like one of the previous reviewers wrote, "it's the people that makes the place." Looking back on my initial encounter, if I could, I would have left just based on my initial interaction with the store employees. They were condescending, patronizing, and rude. For some reason I still left my wedding ring there, to make necessary repairs. Also just like the other customers' experiences they didn't call me to let me know about the status of the ring as they said they would. I had to call them. When I called they said that the ring would be in on Saturday. I went in four days past the Saturday they claimed it would be in, and they couldn't find the ring anywhere. They kept harping on the fact that I didn't have my ticket number. I just stared at them knowing that it in this day and age, there are other ways to track orders than paper tickets, i.e. name and phone number, etc. Finally one of them employees, called the mysterious "studio" and she said the ring would be back the following day. I went back the next day and rescued my ring. The work was good, but not worth the bad vibes. I will never go back, and I would not recommend this place to anybody for anything. This experience has taught me to immediately take my business elsewhere when my gut tells me to do so.

This is the place to go in Park Slope for watches and a beautifully curated selection of high-end, handmade and designed jewelry. What the owner, Lenny, does not know about good watches, inside and out, is not worth knowing. He has, apparently, been learning about and collecting watches since he was very young, and his advice on what to buy (and, perhaps even more importantly, what not to buy) is unerring, particularly if you don’t know the first thing about watches, as was the case with me when I went in. The service is friendly and personal--it is just Lenny and his lovely wife--and there is no pressure or hard sell here; they let you take all the time you need to make a decision. Highly recommended for anyone looking for just the right watch, ring, or jewelry item, whether for oneself or as a gift, whether as an investment or just for the pleasure of owning and wearing something beautiful and of high quality. (It’s hard to recommend browsing, as you are likely to see something you can’t live without!) Simply put, this is the only place I would go now if I am in the market for a good watch. And should I be lucky enough to be in the market for a diamond, I expect I would entrust my purchase to Lenny at Facets with just as much confidence.

I was thinking about how to make my girlfriend happier... then I thought, I might as well learn about rings soon before I make any decisions. So on my walk home, by Facets on my way home. About 3 days later I had a custom order in, rushed, for Christmas. Fast forward a couple months and my new fiance and I stop in briefly to learn about some things for our wedding bands, and bam, 2 days later, 2 wedding bands locked down. For the custom engagement ring, one ring in the store made me think that my fiance would love it, if only it were in rose gold, and perhaps not so tall. And definitely as sparkly as possible. I was lamenting this fact when they said "oh we can make that - we can make anything you want". Beyond that, I will never forget the feeling of hope, on an early day in December, asking "How long does it take to get a custom ring?" - "Usually 8 weeks" - "Oh... ahh... it'd be really great if it could be just before Christmas, in like, 3 weeks.". My fiance keeps coming home telling me she's gotten new compliments from strangers about how pretty her ring is. And I catch her staring at it all the time. And of course now we're stuck just dying waiting to wear our wedding bands.

Absolutely love this place! I've gone twice now -- first to alter a ring: (originally my mom's) it was an open wrap design, and I asked them to instead connect one of the ends to the middle so that it would stop getting caught on my clothes. They were realistic about what was / wasn't possible + what was / wasn't a good idea, and I loved the end result! It was a small adjustment that was well done while keeping true to the original design. second to fix a ring: I snapped the middle of the band of an old ring from my Grandma as a kid, and brought it here for them to reconnect. They fixed the break, reshaped it to be a proper circle (it had been a disfigured oval from years of wear), AND cleaned it... it looks absolutely spectacular now! I wish I had taken a before photo just to show the magic they worked on this ring. I can't recommend them enough! I trust them with my family heirlooms and will always come here first to deal with my jewelry needs. Worth every penny any more!

Wow, I'm very impressed with this place! All around professionalism, excellent and quick service, fair pricing and not to mention a beautiful and well designed interior. I didn't catch the employee's name but I stopped in to get my watch battery replaced ($25) and while I was there I inquired about resizing my wedding band. It was just a little bit too loose and he said he could bring it down a quarter of a size. I was worried about ruining it because it has a very intricate continuous pattern, but he assured me he would be able to resize it without messing it up. I returned the next day to pick it up and thoroughly inspected it and am just blown away. It looks better than it was when I got it new! He said they use laser soldering to resize it and polished it up as well. I looked very closely around the entire ring for a while and can't find any evidence that it was resized, even with the pattern on it. Great job, thank you!

This is the second review I'm leaving for Facets -- I've been a customer for a few years, and of course, asked my boyfriend to pick me a ring from here if (and when) he decided to propose. He popped the question with a stunning raw diamond ring that Irina designed. When it was time to pick out wedding bands, we came back together and got both of them from here. Facets has a truly incredible selection of new jewelry, handcrafted one of a kind pieces, and also vintage selections. I love how my handmade engagement ring sits with my vintage wedding band. My husband looked the selection of wedding bands but wanted one made in a different material, which was no problem for Facets! The staff are always more than helpful when it comes to cleaning and repairs, and opinions. ;) We are life-long customers and I can't more highly recommend this jewelry store. This jewelry store has incredible variety, but what specifically attracted us here was their selection in vintage/antique pieces. My fiancé and I were shopping for a wedding band to match my antique engagement ring, not an easy task, as we discovered earlier in our search. There were so many good and interesting options at Facets, both vintage and vintage-inspired. Irina was very generous and accommodating and suggested a ring that we ended up purchasing! We also found a very special wedding band for my fiancé made in house! Let's just say we were quite particular about what we wanted, and Irina had amazing skill in working with us, giving advice and alternatives, and explaining some technical aspects of jewelry-making and sizing. Oh, and had we not found what we wanted, Irina assured us that Facets could create it. Extremely pleased with the process and outcome from our visit to Facets.

My fiancé and I have been customers at Facets for a while now. He bought me a beautiful antique emerald ring for Christmas one year. It is one of a kind and an absolute showstopper. We ended up getting my engagement ring elsewhere, but weren’t really happy with the service at the other jeweler...so came back to Facets to get wedding bands. We had a very tight turnaround (3 weeks before our wedding!) and they custom-made a wedding band for me to fit my very uniquely shaped engagement ring. It's absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail and artistry is clear! They even delivered our finished rings DAYS ahead of our deadline, meaning there was absolutely no stress leading up to our minimony! We'll definitely be shopping for jewelry at Facets as long as we live in Brooklyn!

I will never forget this experience. I came in with my grandfathers wedding band (a family heirloom) that really means a lot to me. Gaby is is the definition of a professional. Not only did she listen to the history of the ring and understand why I was looking to give it a new life, but she was thorough in discussing options and patient as I decided which direction I wanted to go. The process of adding a stone was seamless and when I received the ring, I was overwhelmed with how beautiful it came out. I am now able to carry a piece of my grandfather with me every day and I could not be more thankful for Gaby's help. My fiancé and I got engaged May of 2021. He designed a beautiful engagement ring with Gaby and had a wonderful experience throughout the whole process. When it came time to create my wedding band I didn’t think twice about returning for Gabys help. Knowing we needed it custom made we took a trip in to look at all different styles, shapes and sizes to see what would accentuate my Eng ring. It was a very easy process discussing what would work best and they even made a mold for me to see before they created the final product. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and I had full faith in them to make it perfect. Highly recommend to anyone, we love Facets!

I’ve had two awesome experiences at Facets this past week. They were able to size my fiancé’s wedding ring (a detailed band passed down from his grandfather) absolutely seamlessly despite the fact that the ring needed to go down 4 sizes. It turned out to be a little too snug, but they are sizing it back up just a hair for free. At the same time I took in a pearl ring which had a beautiful setting but an old and damaged pearl. I wanted a specific tone and color of pearl, and the jeweler went to market and found one for me in a matter of days. I met Gina, who was lovely and very helpful. Will absolutely be returning to Facets for any jewelry related needs.

They saved my weekend!! I was traveling to NYC for a friends birthday and was so excited to show my best friends my engagement ring doe the first time! The night before my flight I was cleaning my ring & a halo stone fell out. I was so sad my friends wouldn’t see my ring looking pristine. I showed up right when they opened and begged them to take pity on me & luckily they did! I paid a rush fee and by the end of the day was able to get my engagement ring back looking better than ever!!! They fixed the prongs set the stone & cleaned it to perfection! Very grateful and highly recommend! Extremely great customer service and nice ppl working there!

I cannot recommend Facets more!! I had already visited many jewelry stores looking to make a custom engagement ring, but upon walking into Facets I immediately knew they were perfect for the job. Gaby was a rockstar, helping me throughout the whole process from initial concepting all the way to the final touches. I was looking to make a very specific custom engagement ring and Gaby knew how to take my jumbled thoughts and ideas and steer me in the right direction. It was a thorough process, but her team made it so easy. Both my fiancé and I are so happy with the final result and look forward to doing more business with them.

I'm writing this after picking up my lovely custom engagement ring (after hours) from Facets. They kindly rushed my order from their normal policy of eight weeks to less than two and a half so I could show my family at Christmas, and let me pick it up after hours in order to have it by the time I left town. They were very kind and patient when I came in wanting to reset stones from a family ring and not knowing much else, and also sending me a mock-up of the final design (all within the shortened timeline!) The price was also less than I anticipated. Thank you so much!

Best decision for a quick drop-in service! My wedding set needed to be inspected and polished since it had been several years since the last time I did it and I walked in and they quickly accommodated me providing me a beautiful shiny new set in efficient timing! They even gave me a “report” on the status of my prongs holding my diamonds and suggested a timeline on how often I should return for inspection. Oh! And, their jewelry selection is stunning! Although… I was not in the market for a new piece of quality jewelry at this time. Definitely recommend!

Just went to facets to get my vintage Rolex serviced and they did a wonderful job. My rolex was in bad shape after I went diving with it and I had little hope that I could be fixed, but after taking it to Facets and speaking to Lenny he reassured me that it could be fixed. He was able to find me a replacement dial and get my grandfathers Rolex ticking again he polished the case and the watch looks brand new. If you have any watch that doesn't work or have a vintage piece that needs to be restored I highly recommend on taking it to facets fine jewelry.

I brought my engagement ring to be repaired to Facets, and they did an amazing job. It is a family heirloom with intricate filigree on each side, and on one side the filigree had been completely bent by my wedding ring and the prongs holding the stones had been totally worn down. I trusted them to restore my ring, and they did the best job. It looks brand new while keeping its art deco charm. I would absolutely trust them to repair my jewelry again, and I will be back to purchase pieces that they sell there as well, it all looks so beautiful.

I had a great experience at Facets. I recently got engaged and needed my ring to be resized / refitted to accommodate my large knuckles and slim fingers - ugh. Since my fiancé purchased my ring in Brazil (and our insurance is there), I was really nervous about taking my ring to another jewelry store. In comes Facet! I found them online while searching for a reputable jeweler and went in with no appointment. I was immediately served, and after 3 days, my ring was ready and fit perfectly! I’ll 100% use them in the future. Great place!

Lack of communication and respect for potential customers. Update: Went in to the store and was greeted by one customer service representative. Discussed a potential custom order that I had emailed about prior with the proprietor of the shop. Representative took down notes, my name and number. Never heard back from anybody. I then followed up via email on four separate occasions and received no reply whatsoever. Complete ghosting. There are too many wonderful, attentive and amenable shops in this city that don’t waste your time.

Throughout the entire experience of purchasing an engagement ring, I dealt personally with Irina. The customer service was above and beyond all of my expectations, always being professional and courteous. Time was given to answer any questions I had and explanations were thorough. The ring was delivered timely and represented all requirements I had wanted to make this purchase. The stone is flawless and is of high quality. Purchased an engagement ring here a few months back (she said yes, nbd) and the experience was amazing. Gab who helped us pick out the ring truly rocked - super welcoming & patient with my questions and occasional backtracking on initial decisions + extremely knowledgeable. The gemologist (whose name I forget, and whose exact title I might have just listed incorrectly) was also incredible, worked together with Gab to customize the ring to what we were hoping for and within my budget. I brought in my antique, Art Deco, ring that was in serious need of repair. The onyx was cracked in several places and the center diamond was loose. This was not a simple repair and I could not be happier with the way the ring came back. It looked brand new! Gina was fabulous to work with from beginning to end. If you have a special piece that needs to be repaired, or you are shopping something new, look no further than Facets. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and service is worth every penny.

The company which insures my jewelry recommended Facets for a repair, and I could not be more thrilled to have found my new local jeweler! Irina and Gaby were great to work with, and the work is exceptional. Truly, my rings have never looked better. There are endless numbers of beautiful pieces throughout the store (both vintage and new), and the environment is special and welcoming. This elegant boutique is everything I look for in a jewelry store. Starting with the atmosphere as I walked in, the air just seemed so fresh, the music was pleasant, the plants welcoming, and the aroma of candles in the air. Being greeted by their extremely friendly associates. The windows showcasing exquisite designs which are all handmade in house, locally and they even carry antiques. I have to say I was instantly made a “forever” Facets customer. I highly recommend this gem of a shop.

One of the most beautiful jewelry stores that I have ever been to. The jewelry is gorgeous, both unique and traditional. The designs are so different but so beautifully done. Almost all of the jewelry is made here which means that they are original designs so you will see them all over. Irina the owner is not just so knowledgeable about jewelry but also the designer. The diamond jewelry is exquisite.and the service is above and beyond. And we are supporting local businesses. Yea!

Went there for an emergency engagement ring cutting on a swollen finger. They were extremely nice and gentle while working on it. They saved my wedding band which was very close to the engagement ring. I will be visiting them soon to get the cut ring fixed and resized. Avi and his team at the store were very patient, accommodating and professional while handling my situation. I highly recommend giving them a try, they had some really nice pieces on display.

Went in for a ring repair, made it very, very clear that the ring was originally loose and not to make it bigger by just filling in the gap. Came back even looser than before, and they offered to fix it...for another $100. Actual repair was good, though my textured ring came back much smoother than before. They also ignored my request to use a different color when repairing the break (I wanted to remember the event).

The woman behind the counter is unspeakably curt, condescending and hostile. We had repairs done last year and regretted having to deal with her at all, as she emits and astoundingly angry tone. And yet just last week, hoping she was not working, we stopped in to find she is still very much running the show and using the opportunity to belittle customers astoundingly, as has been pointed out by other reviewers.

The owner is amazing. We came in for ear piercing and the owner was so generous and kind with us. I never thought a jewelry store experience could be so incredible. This is the kind of place you want to buy special jewelry. Not only because the pieces are so gorgeous and unique, but because you are buying from a good human who reminds you why small business and personal interaction are so important.

Facets did a great job of fixing my ring. the main stone had become a little loose. its a garnet and when I brought it to a jewelry person in the diamond district near where I work, the jerk told me my ring was obviously just for sentimental reasons and then told me to just super glue the stone. Facets did a great job of securing the stone and complimented me on how pretty it was. Thank you Facets!

My wife and I had both of our wedding bands, as well as the engagement ring with an heirloom diamond made here. The staff was attentive, kind, and an absolute joy to work with and we could not be happier with the rings! The craftmanship and attention to detail was top notch ad the final products were everything we could have wanted. If we could rate higher than 5 stars, we would!

This is such a lovely store - the owners are so helpful and patient and the jewelry is stylish and cool. They are also really knowledgeable and if you are buying a gift - whether a huge purchase or just something small - they will do right by you and will never try and sell you something you don’t want or are not comfortable with. An all round great performance - I will be back!

There are so many different gorgeous pieces, both vintage and made here on-site by their jewelers. I recently brought my 7 year old daughter to Facets to get her ears pierced. I couldn't have wished for a better experience! The staff was very welcoming and professional. As a Reunion island dweller and a great traveler (India, Tibet, China, Russia and Central Asia), I must say that FACETS has the most multi-faceted jewelry one can dream of. In January me and my now fiancé, met with Gaby to start designing an engagement ring together. Throughout the process Gaby was wonderful and made us feel like we had nothing to worry about. It was an amazing process and the final product is stunning. We couldn’t be happier. We can’t wait to work with Gaby again on our wedding bands!

When I called to ask how much it would cost to get a ring cut off of a swollen finger, the guy told me to just come in and he did it for free in about 5 seconds. He also gave me different price options for having the ring resized and repaired. Very grateful for the kindness, courtesy and honesty in a pretty stressful situation!

Incredibly helpful staff (Gabby) who took the time with me to perfectly craft my wife’s Christmas present of stacker rings. She spent an hour with me going through the various combinations until we found the exact look I wanted. The selection is amazing and was a very fun experience. Importantly they follow all Covid protocols.

I was looking for an engagement ring to surprise my girlfriend (now fiance). I had heard and read great reviews on facets so i came in with high expectations. I left with the perfect ring in about 30 min. The salesperson was very helpful and knowledgeable. I fully recommend that shop to all it was a wonderful experience.

Absolutely stunning work. I had a diamond solitaire necklace reset and it’s even more beautiful than I could have ever though it could be. The level of craftsmanship and quality is exceptional and the staff is incredible as well. So happy I finally found a new jeweler!! Will definitely be back with my earrings.

This place is a Park Slope gem (pun intended). The staff is so affable and make for a very pleasant and congenial environment. You wish it were a clubhouse!! Always really anxious buying jewelry in New York (personal problem) but Gabby takes that all away with her vast knowledge of stones, styles and welcoming energy. The jewels here are QUALITY— they also do repairs and can turn something old into something new. Oh! her vintage collection is also insane.

I brought several orphan earrings to Facets, seeking to have replacements made. They were able to match the stones and design perfectly. I had a sentimental ring resized, and they were really kind and helpful. They originally advised me to go up a single size but I had them go up two sizes—a month later I came back and confessed the ring was too big and they were happy to bring it back down a size, and for free! Would recommend.

Got a lovely star sapphire ring today. Irina was very helpful while I looked through the whole store at least twice (too many pretties). I was also happy to hear about the small group wire wrapping classes they are doing on Sunday afternoons. Sounds fun and and reasonably priced at $50 a class.
