As a customer, and close friend, to many of the staff in the store, some i would consider family is only giving partial information to incriminate the store... As someone who believes that there two sides of 1 story, as well as recieving recent information to this local review, i would like to explain the full story... i have absolute trust in my resources, as they were there at situation. I would like to point out I am not recieving any form of incentive gain from these findings. Nor am I doing this as they have a close bond. But rather simply informing the truth. If you don't believe than i am afraid there nothing i can convince you other wise.... First off, this customer was very rude, and gave attitude even before the situation escalated. The customer "slammed the shoes" onto the surface and "demanded a return or refund." As someone who volunteers in at a retail thrift position, acting in such a manner is uncalled for, especially when you tell the staff to "f*** off." Also, the reviewer fails to point out that they were wearing the shoes instore, and the box that was given was empty. If she was wearing the shoes, then i am afraid that is an health and safety concern. I do believe the safety of others is a more important concern than infecting people for profit. That is essentially returning a used footcare product, which contains numerous bacteria Lastly I know manager, Cathy. And as someone who has autism, she has been an extremely kind and gentle person, not only to me, but also to my family, her employees, one of them who extremely close to me. Cathy would never intend any harm anyone. And my source, the one extremely close to me is family. Family do not lie steal and cheat from family. My source would think likewise.

We knew when an extremely rude, nasty loooking person who identified herself as the store manager who seemed bothered to even serve us that not going to end well. This person would not EVEN look at my brand new work shoes that have a Manufactures Defect(see pic) despite having the box with their stickers, price, and bar codes on it because I could not find my receipt?? She said she wouldn't even scan it as I asked her too. What a loser actually. I just needed a replacement pair for work!! My husband ended up losing his temper and telling her where to go but I think he spoke far nicer to her than she deserved. FYI my workplace employs 150 plus employees so when you already have some of the highest prices around to start with, management like that is like your nail in the coffin. Seems like a common complaint as well and before you know it there's fewer and fewer people in your store and of course than there's also no referrals. She didn't seem to care about a bad review either as she stated so she wants your store to close imo. Very savvy business sense. Ive contacted Sketchers Canada because I really like these shoes, in fact this was my second pair. I've actually worn their footwear for 20 plus years almost exclusively and I don't think this is the way they would want their lifetime customers treated. I can buy online and avoid you as I do recommend others do, but rest assured this is not over. I will have you stand behind the standard Manufacturers Defect Warranty.

I would love to have a perfect 5 for this amazing store who has been so patient with me regarding my non verbal high functioning autistic genius son who's turning 4 soon. However today on my now 3x having to repurchase and return 2 previous boots all the while also having a possible 4th pair delivered from kitchener a 3 all due to one 2 min ignorant cashier who has no idea why returning as she put it "what's wrong they are still the same size" a dissatisfied unpleasant experience that her coworkers had left on this mom's heart. Goes to show how one can ruin what others had done. To this cashier working Sunday evening near close you need to educate yourself on manners and understanding and not a narrow minded unpleasant person you portray! Live a little. Walk a mile in society's shoes. I guess you live a perfect life. Lower your high class level to the level of true life you have been unblessed to experience. My 3yr old autistic son has more capabilities that you will ever have in your many more yrs of living then he has. Rewatch the wizard of oz which probably was made whenyou were born and try and find a heart too. I went in to buy a new pair of running shoes and I always go to the men’s due to my feet being size 11.5-12. While I was looking at shoes a sales woman came past snd asked if I needed help I mentioned I wish men’s shoes came in better colors as the colors are so boring and I can’t find women’s shoes big enough for me. While she told me about this new brand they sell and they go up to size 12, she took me over to the ladies section and I was so excited to find great selection of colors and widths, they also have sandals and dress and casual shoes in the brand as well. The brand name is Propét and I got 11.5 xxwide and they are amazing, no more sore feet when I get home from a long day at work. Thank you to the saleswoman whom I believe was named Ann? As I told the cashier that this lady was wonderful and she needs to be appreciated for her knowledge and salesmanship. I’m so pleased with my new shoes. Thank you wonderful caring sales lady.

Visited this store today, walked past several staff members, not one greeted me or asked if I needed help. Staff never approached customers, no offer of assistance, I was there over 30 minutes without seeing staff help anyone or even say a simple good afternoon, or even a simple nod and smile, NOTHING at all. Staff were laughing and talking to one another but no customer interaction. One woman asked for help and was directed to "over there on the back wall" that was it. The owner of this franchise needs to seriously investigate staff performance. On checking out 3 male staff members were in an aisle talking to each other. The women staff were nowhere to be seen. I was disgusted by the overall experience and lack of customer care. I will NOT be returning to this location. When is the franchisee or owner going to investigate all these reports and do something about ignorant staff?

High quality footwear and excellent customer service and Canadian! Lots of selection for men needing size larger than 13. My husband purchased Merrell hiking shoes size 14 March 27, loved them but in July noticed the upper part of shoe was coming away from the sole on one side. I asked at Factory shoe if anything could be done, Andrea happily said of course. Just had to bring in my receipt (didn’t have) or credit card statement showing purchase(did have). Andrea was able to verify my purchase and I was able to find the exact same hikers in store in size 14 again to exchange for defective ones! Superb customer service! Merrell stands behind their products, so shout out to them as well, as they made it easy for exchange at store level. Factory shoe will return the old pair to Merrell as defective. Factory shoe will continue to be my go to store for all my family’s footwear needs

Went there today around 6pm, the store is supposed to close at 9 and they were already putting away the sale rack. The building has signs starting "berkinstocks headquarters" and not a single berkin stock in sight. When I asked where else close by has berkinstocks the lady replied "the mall"... Soo helpful. Then we asked if she could check for a size of a shoe the worker said "oh it's already in the back".... Aka in a pod less than 15 feet away, that she had to go to too roll in the last two racks of sale shoes. When I went inside to ask for a manager I was told she was the person I was dealing with outside. The customer service here was so atrocious I will never recommend or shop here.

Convenient curbside pickup during this lockdown from the Coronavirus . I ordered a pair of sandals for a couple hundred dollars plus tax on top. The website said my order would be ready in 1-3 business days and it only took 2 days, very fast . The quality of the sandals seems good and they are very comfortable, great support for my feet when walking. When my order was ready they emailed me and also called my phone. When I arrived at the store and called the phone number on the door and gave my name and they brought my sandals out right away within a couple minutes, very fast. This is my second time buying sandals from this location and I'm very satisfied. Thank you.

"Why pay full price for shoes" This is the tag line I saw on the Factory Shoe shop and I thought, "cool, I've been looking for a pair of Birkenstocks - I'll check here!". I entered the store and the selection looks fantastic, and someone greeted me right away. However, the Birks I was looking for were much more expensive than both previous places I'd looked (in stores at Limeridge Mall). So, while I can't speak to other qualities this store may have, I was disappointed that the shoes that were $140 - $150 at the mall, were $189 at a store specifically highlighting lower than full price for shoes. Unless the second half of the tag line is, "...when you can pay more!"

My wife and I went in for a pair of wide New Balance shoes. We were never greeted by staff at anytime. We asked about the width of shoes but as she answered us she kept on walking. I asked another staff member what the widest shoes was and his reply started with “huh”, he then replied 6E. I asked if they had that and he snapped that he would have to go and look, he left but never came back. As I sat trying on shoes, 3 different staff members walk passed me twice each and never was I spoken to. On the way out my wife mentioned the horrible service to to woman vacuuming near the door who did apologize, but did not shut off the vacuum.

Absolutely the worst staff. Stupid beyond belief. I truly wished I knew the womans name that works there to call her out . Went there for converse for my girl and they ordered them in from another location and when I went to pick them up they weren't the ones I asked for . She argued with me that the chuck Taylor's are all the same and that they are all on back order everywhere. I went to another store at the mall and every one I went to had lots of the shoes and colors for only a few bucks more . Should have just shopped at the mall to begin with. Do not ever go to factory shoe you will regret it

They have a wide variety of Men's, Women's and Children's shoes, sandals, and boots. The prices vary depending on much you may want to spend, but well within your budget. The staff are very helpful, always around if needed. What I like about this store is that the staff will help you whenever asked, but they are very respectful at letting you shop in peace and not always getting in your way unless you want or need their help. I would recommend this store to anyone if asked and in fact I myself have been shopping here for my families shoes for over 25 years!!

Another great experience at Factory Shoe Hamilton! Fair prices and exceptional customer service. New store is big, bright and well organized. Very customer friendly, everything is clearly marked and easy to find. Very little interaction with staff was required during my visit but I had my questions answered when I needed help. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for well made work boots and shoes. I've been shopping here for several years and will certainly be back again... probably to add to what has become a collection of Merrell's.

I love the Factory Shoe! The staff are incredibly friendly, and helpful, and create an environment in which you could comfortably browse their shoe selection. As for the shoes themselves, while they are pretty expensive, they're really good quality, and very comfortable to wear, which definitely makes the price well worth it, in my opinion! I've purchased two pairs of boots, and a pair of athletic shoes from here so far, and I'm in love with all three, so I'll definitely come again for some more, and would recommend the store to anyone else! :D

Just finished shopping here, went specifically for Birkenstock sandals and as soon as we picked up the box to browse the rest of their selection we had 4 of their workers following us and announcing a security watch. So not only did no one help us but they profiled us as criminals. When one worker finally came up to us, she couldn't even answer a question about the cork care product I was considering buying. Guess they're too busy assuming anyone with coloured skin is shop lifting. By the way, their selection is lacking and not worth the trip.

I also was the recipient of very poor customer service. I had purchased a fairly expensive pair of boots that were supposed to be waterproof. They were not waterproof. I brought them back to the store for an exchange and was told that in order for this to happen they had to be sent away to see if they were in fact waterproof or leaking and this would take 6 to 8 weeks. I pointed out to the clerk that this left me without boots but she couldn't have cared less. I spoke with a manager who was no better. I left the store and have never returned.

This location has a great variety of quality sandals, which is why we visited recently. Noticed that casual shoes and athletic footwear are also in abundance. Pricing is great - most are below competitors! We spent an hour trying different makes to find the best fit for comfort and longevity. Left with a pair each. Satisfied with all aspects of our shopping experience here. Oh, and you require a staff member to code open the public washroom, if need use - is spacious and clean. 10 out of 10 all 'round. Keep up the good work!

Went there morning of Aug 12. ABSOLUTELY no customer service. Every time we asked a question where things were, the sales clerk pointed in a vague direction and said over there. It was not busy, but it seemed like an imposition on their time. Didn't even offer to try find my size or help fit me. Eventually just left and went down the street to Miller Shoes who gave me good service and sold me two pairs of higher end foot ware for . For the record I bought a pair of Clarke's and a pair of New Balance .

I was thoroughly impressed by the service I received at Factory Shoe at the Upper James location. Nela in particular was very helpful and knowledgeable on the brands they offer. She helped me find a suitable pair of footwear for my mother. Also, Nela has helped myself and my family on numerous occasions. In fact, whenever myself and / or my family need a pair of footwear we always count on her for her expertise. She has a positive attitude and exemplary customer service skills! Thank you Nela!

I have been a customer at factory shoe for years and just recently was my first time at their new location. My first impression of the new store was great, tons of selection to choose from not to mention very helpful staff. I've been referring people to shop at this location for years, and they all have nothing but good things to say about it. I don't understand some of these "comments / reviews" that people have posted but i guess that's just a part of working retail. Cant please everybody.

I ordered a pair of Clarks Leisa Grace sandals from the Factory Shoe and was very please (and impressed) by their speedy delivery. I love these sandals, they are the third pair I bought (in different colors) as they are so comfortable!! I bought my first pair 3 years for a trip in Europe in which we walked and walked for days and these sandals were so comfortable, I had to buy more. But I just paid less than half the price I had paid for my first pair from a store downtown Ottawa :-) BONUS!!

DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR TODAY! MY Mom's car broke down in the parking lot after she was shopping. She went back in to get help when there was a complication with CAA. The staff was aloof and rude to this poor elderly woman who ended up sobbing in front of the staff. She went outside and waited until I could leave work to come and get her. She stood outside by HERSELF for 40 minutes, IN 5 DEGREE WEATHER, having to use the washroom and still crying. Who the hell do you people think you are

This was our first time coming in here to purchase shoes for our daughters. The store is big, clean and spacious. They have so many shoes to choose from. The girls found exactly what we were looking for. I love the fact they are open later in the evening. As we checked out, the cashier was very friendly and very observant. She caught the fact one of my daughters had (2) right shoes. They found the correct shoe for us and we went on our way. I would highly recommend coming here.

A couple people on here have mentioned a ‘woman that works there’, and I know exactly who they are talking about. She’s awful to deal with and could care less about customers or their feelings and concerns. Gave me a really hard time about returning a pair of shoes within a month and with the receipt. The sole was coming off the heel already. For $100 pair of shoes I would have expected better. She may be the manager because she is there every day. But should be fired.

Always a great selection of shoes for my entire family. Have shopped here for years. Staff at this store and head office recently went out of their way to arrange an exchange on a pair of shoes that were the wrong size. They were extremly helpful and empathetic and made me feel very appreciated as a customer. The staff here have also located shoes in different sizes and brought them in from another store. They are always eager to help and very friendly.

Appalling service. My children were told within 1 minute of walking down the men's isle that they were to rambunctious and to settle, upon leaving a manager of all people told my children (who were kidding around) to use inside voices. I'm the parent, you have an issue with how my children behave in a family shoe store you spcan ask to me not my children. I will not shop there again due to the disgusting attitude of more than one employee.

Old Review: Only reason a 2 star and not 1 star is because I found a pair of shoes i like. Very Bad customer service. 8-10 people working and Noone wanted to help. When I paid for the shoes the girl was so rude. New: I went in again in October and they have more helpful staff now and 2 employees asked me if I needed help. Found some nice kicks again too! They're prices are pretty much the same as other big shoe stores.

Walked in looking for keens, shelf was empty which I thought was odd. No sales staff around so I asked cashier where the keens were and she told she thought they were exactly were I seen the empty shelves. Looked around some more, still only seen one other sales person on the floor and she was helping someone else. Ended up leaving the store empty handed. I went there planning on spending my money.

To the "lady"without a vest sitting at the middle desk today . Your ignorant , I was polite an unfortunately new to the store . Just moved here and had no clue where to get shoes. I quick Google search and reviews later I was on their website shopping. I bought two new pairs of shoes and asked for them to be shipped I expected to receive new shoes next week sometime . They came in today. Only a day and a half after I ordered. Found website easy to use and delighted to have my shoes already... Will be back 100%

I like the store as they carry large sized shoes/boots, up to size 20! As very few stores carry those sizes, Factory Shoe tries to cater to those who have large feet. The only gripe I have is the stock selection is very limited in shoe size's in 15/16. The staff seems friendly when they come around, but for me, I just want to look and not be bothered. Overall, a good store.

Wide selection! Only problem was that when I asked an employee what the best foot wear was for support she had no clue. She went to go ask someone and she showed me the types then walked away. I asked another employee for help and she told me the same shoes but didn't help me with sizes or anything just walked away, really nice girls just too busy for a customer

Ordered online mens sandal Size 12, they call me and said it is ready fir pick up. When I get there it is size 12 kids lol. I double checked my order and there is no indication that it is size 12 kids. Not even an apology for wasting my time and they were acting as if it was my fault lol! I demanded my refund and will never shop at factory shoe ever again!

Went in looking for a pair of shoes I could wear all day standing at work. The girl that helped me was nice but she didn’t seem to have too much input on what shoes would be best. Then as I was trying on shoes I could hear one employee telling a new employee all the work he did was wrong. She was so rude to the poor kid it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Always good selection of sandals, boots, runners, and fancy shoes. Lots of name brands to nike, Adidas, under armor, new balance, reef, and so on. They usually have good selection of clearance items to so definitely worth checking out. Customer service is great and taking lots of measures to fight covid. Would recommend to take a browse.

Poor customer service. Asked where to find a specific type of shoe and I was pointed in the direction. No one offered help, staff chatting to one another and not on shop floor assisting. When it came to checkout no one was available had to wait in line until someone realized no one was on cash. The store was NOT busy. Very poor service.

Nela from Factory Shoe Store on Upper James served me and found the perfect Birkenstocks for me after she explained the difference with the other brands. Later we returned and she assisted my husband to find the perfect work shoe for his needs. Nela was friendly knowledgeable and professional during the entire time. Great employee.

I am so impressed with this place, I received the absolute best customer service from Diane at the Upper James location. She helped me order Birkenstock’s in my size and shipped them to my home up north. I was so surprised when my shoes arrived the very next day! Great experience, can’t thank you enough for your help!

Leanne was BEYOND helpful when I couldn't decide which sandals to get for a wedding. She even suggested I bring the dress in for a fashion show haha... Next time, when I have more time for sure!! Also the store itself was clean, and I always find the shoes here cost less, than to get the same at other stores.

Factory shoe is my favourite shoe store!! So many selections of shoes with amazing brands and styles. Everytime i go in there are always something new, Its the only shoe store i buy from. The staff are always super helpful and kind. Great customer service. Cant wait to go back to get more shoes

An old lady with short hair and tattooed eyebrows that works there treated me with racism and disrespectful. When I asked for help she answered with a disgusted tone, without looking at me and ran away really fast. I have heard her talking differently with another customer.

Over priced. Looking at VANS, Timberlands, Adidas and many brand name sneakers and boots finding only a discount of $10? Many of their brand name items are actually selling for double the price on Amazon. However to be fair staff were at least courteous and helpful.

Customer service is decent despite how busy the place is. It can feel a bit overwhelming due to the sheer size of the store. They sort by brand then size so it's easier to find what you need. They have the one use socks for trying on shoes as well.

I've never bought shoes here before but decided to try out a pair of Reebok work boots. They fell apart within 2 months and when I took them in they credited me without any hassle. 10 out of 10 for service. Great selection to choose from.

"men's" safety shoes only go down to size 7, selection of "women's" saftey shoes was abysmal, ultimately less than 5 choices with a steel toe appropriate for someone with small feet, none of which are suitable for my workplace.

My family and I have been shopping at factory shoes for years. I find the staff is always there to help, all you have to do is ask. The shoes are good quality and fair prices. Will definitely continue to give them my business.

Sabrina and Peter were extremely helpful with finding shoes for my brother who has special needs. My brother now has the right size and easy to put on shoes that look good, we will definitely go back to Factory Shoe!

Don't know how Canadians can afford shoes. Prices are crazy even for slippers. Staff are fine. I like to have a good long look without staff attention. Will not be buying shoes till I return to Ireland.

A good place to shop for shoes. It has all types of shoes for one's need. I usually get my sporty and dress shoes here. Not cheap but some good deals to be had as well.
