PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS SOLON! A month ago, I had died my hair burgundy at home, but now that the colour has faded, I wanted to go back to my original hair colour, black. I could have easily dyed my hair at home; however, I wanted to treat myself and have a pleasant experience at a salon. Unfortunately, it ended up being a horrible mistake. The employee who did my hair was unprofessional and had terrible techniques and knowledge in hair styling. Before dying my hair, she did not section my hair; instead, she poured the dye straight on my head and, with her hands, spread it across my hair. It was extremely messy, and she ended up getting hair dye all over my face and neck. After she washed my hair, she blow-dried my hair which was the worst blow dry I have ever gotten. I honestly wanted to take the blow dryer and brush and do it myself because I would have done a better job. Once my hair was dried, it was clear that there were streaks of hair left that were not coloured. I was not surprised; because of her careless job in dying my hair, it was obvious that there would be strands of hair that did not get coloured. I was so done with the horrible experience that I just wanted to leave the salon and return home. When I went up to cash, they charged me $140 for colouring my hair black and a blow-dry. The amount they charged me was ridiculous. First of all, my hair was not fully coloured black. Second, my hair wasn't even blow-dried properly. Not to mention that they did not even tell me that I would be charged extra for a blow-dry. I politely tried to explain my situation on how I was unsatisfied with my experience as a customer. Nicely they told me that they messed up my hair, but they're not going to give me a refund and that I should just leave. I further contacted the owner of the salon, who was not helpful or understanding in any way. He told me that I could come in again and that he would do my hair, but he would not give me a refund. I do not want to come to the salon again. I had a horrible experience. They could not do the most straightforward job a hairstylist can do. The staff and owner were extremely rude, and the salon was quite messy. It is not a luxurious solon as they claim to be. I had to drive to Sally Beauty to buy black hair dye and come back home to re-dye my hair. I should not have to do this after going to a salon and paying $140. If you see this, please take this as a sign and do not go to Fernandino. You will regret it.

I got my hair cut here about a week ago and I found the experience really bad. It was very long and I wanted a pixie cut and showed pictures when I went in and everything seemed fine. When I went in for the cut the girl seemed really shocked that I wanted to cut it off and and kept making comments about how I shouldn’t get it cut that short which made me feel really upset especially since I was already in the chair while getting it cut. (I don’t remember her name) The cut itself took 2 hours and it was really bad. She cut it entirely with scissors and didn’t use an electric hair trimmer even though I wanted it short enough to use it. She kept trying to move my part which when it dried move back to the part so it turned out all uneven and stuck up in weird places. She wouldn’t cut it to the length I wanted and she gave me a mushroom cut and when I asked her to go shorter she just took the texture tool to it. Within a week (my next day off) I had to go to a barber shop to go and get it fixed. Long story short it definitely wasn’t worth the money and the hair cut turned out really bad (just picture Prince Charming from shrek 2) and the girl who cut my hair made it especially negative.

I guess google only allows you to review once... We went back again two days ago because of a bad experience from Bayshore Hairstylist who ruined my daughter's hair and refused to fix it. I went to Fernandino and explained the story to hairstylist there and she accepted to fix the hair. She was just awesome and did a wonderful job. She was very kind and soft with my daughter who was already upset and crying from the experience with Bayshore Hairstylist. We always go to Fernandino for our haircut for the past several years. But I donno why I made a choice to go to Bayshore Hairstylist, we received such a horrible service and treated really bad. But when we went back to Fernandino it's a completely a different story. The hairdresser Josse understand the situation and take care of my daughter's hair and made her happy at the end. This is all that was matter to me. The haircut was very nice and to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. At least for the service they provide they deserve a good feedback. Good service. The hairdresser took her time to do my hair. I'll go back again. (7th month ago)

Went to do hair keratine treatment. Lisa explained how wonderful my hair will be following the treatment (smooth, shiny, etc..). I followed the instructions literally (no shower for at least 3 days, etc..); also, I bought their keratin special shampoo, conditioner and the keratine serum and paid more than $360 total. the result was extremely disappointing after I washed my hair; it was dry, fluffy, and anything except straight (worst than before). In summary, none of what Lisa described became true, none! I called the salon and they said they can redo it for me. Few minutes later, Lisa called me to say that she explained to me that this is only Keratine treatment not a straightener and that I have to do some effort to see my hair shiny, smooth and straight and that I should blow dry my hair after shower to get what I was hoping for!!! Worst still, she claimed that she explained that to me (which is untrue or else I wouldn't have done it in the first place). My first and last time going there! not only bad results but also non-credible staff! shame!

The hairstylist washed my hair in a blocked sink. I wanted to vomit when I saw the dirty water she washed my hair in. That was a sign, I should have left! But I chose to stay. She had very long nails with scratched my face and head for many times.I was disgusted. Still I was hopeful for a good hair cut and didn’t have time to book another one, so I stayed. Kathy was kind and friendly but unfortunately doesn’t have the skills. She literally butchered my hair! It is uneven, no angles. I look like Karen thanks to her and I paid 70$ to look like Karen. She randomly cut here and there, my hair looks as if my 3years old toddler pretend played with my hair. So unprofessional! I kindly tried to explain her that this wasn’t what I wanted but she refused to accept. So in order to avoid an argument, I didn’t say a word because it was anyway too late and obviously she didn’t have the skills to correct her mistakes. I walked out heartbroken and upset and will never go back there!

I had gotten a haircut from this salon in the summer and had a great experience, and was excited to come back and refresh the cut. My experience the second time around differed wildly. My entire appointment ran less then 30 minutes (for a wash cut and blow dry) while this same process took over an hour during my initial appointment. My haircut felt rushed and turned out awful, and it looked unfinished and uneven (photo attached) . After my appointment I went back to speak with the manager, who appeared disinterested in talking to me, he and the stylist seemed annoyed and unprofessional when I was voicing my concerns. They offered for the same stylist to try to fix it, and a coupon for my next haircut. There was no apology issued for the obvious issue with the haircut, only an apology for me "not liking it". Obviously given the quality of haircut I received I was not interested in seeing what a fix would look like and obviously will not be returning. Terrible service.

Terrible Service and they charged extra without out knowledge. Do not waste your money here They dyed my sisters hair with no care and professionalism. The employee who dyed her hair did not even section the hair before applying the dye. She poured the whole mix on her hair. She couldn't even dye properly , there were brown sections under black like highlight. It looked so bad before our event that we had to go back and fix her hair at home. Even though we called days before appointment and asked about all the prices and were only told about $80 dyeing fee we ended up paying $130. When we asked for the manager to talk about this situation they wasted our 3 days by saying he is not available. This is a very unprofessional and messy place, they say it is a luxury salon but they can't even dye hair properly and their customer service is unreliable.

Had the most amazing service and hair cut / blow out with Dilpreet Friday evening at the Bayshore mall location (3rd floor by the Hudson's Bay). She's extremely attentive asking great questions in the consult prior to washing my hair, friendly with wonderful client service and conversation, talented with her cut & blow out technique (I have curly hair), she even did a few extra cuts to bring up my curtains bangs in a dry cut after blowing out so it was exactly as I had described in our consult. With being new to "layers", I was a little nervous but she was incredible and did not rush my cut, making me feel like I was the most important client in the whole salon! Over all such a wonderful experience... I've already booked my next follow up hair cut with her in a few weeks! Highly recommend Dilpreet and Fernandino's Bayshore

Do NOT recommend. My stylists didn’t ask me one question about what I wanted! I showed her a few inspiration pictures and she said ok and left and came back with colour and started doing my hair… I had to ask her what colour she was doing! I had mentioned that I don’t like chunky highlights, and she continued to give me chunky highlights. The stylist did mention right away that she doesn’t like to talk while she does my hair. It is nothing close to what I wanted, I feel like she just did whatever she wanted to get out of there in time. Even the hair cut is uneven in the front and one of my bangs is longer than the other. 0/5 experience! I emailed the salon the next day about my experience and I never heard back from them. Terrible stylists… even worse customer service.

I've finally found my go-to place to get my hair done! After reading the reviews I went yesterday to get a cut and some bangs. I lucked out and got Chelsea and I am so glad I did! I have had some difficulty in the past with going to salons and requesting bangs and leaving with something else than what I wanted or some hair stylists flat-out refusing. (One asked me "but do they look good on you?" when I told them that I have had them before.) She listened to what exactly I was looking for and took the time to cut it exactly how I wanted it. She also didn't judge me for using boxed hair dye at home (hello not everyone can spend a fortune on their hair!!) and didn't try to push any hair products on me to purchase. I will absolutely be back! Thank you so much Chelsea!!

While the service was terrible, I must say the haircut is super cute, so I'm editing my review from a one star to a 3.5. They are great hairstylists, just hope they were a bit nicer. This is not a place to go with a 3 year old. First of all the floor is full of hair and looks filthy. When I told the guy he didn’t care. They were all sitting chatting and seemed upset they got visitors. Then they have absolutely no experience working with toddlers. My son was devastated and the guy cutting his hair didn’t seem to mind at all. This is the 6th time he gets a haircut since after Covid and it was always a great fun experience until we decided to cut his hair here.No patience terrible customer service!

Went for a haircut. I had really long hair so I expected it to take a while but It was rushed and done so poorly. I asked for a fade and to have the back taped up and the guy did not know how to do that. Gave me the worst “tape up” in the back. It was like they were bothered I had an appointment, even tho the place was empty. A week later I had to go to another barber and get the whole thing fixed. Also he didnt even try and remove the hair on my neck after it was cut, you know like wipe or blow dry off the hair that was cut, I left with so much hair all over. Im really not one to leave reviews anywhere but this left me with such a bad taste in my mouth….

I’ve been wanting to dye my virgin hair for the past 7 years, I’ve been worried about where to go to have my hair done I went to Felicity to see what we could and couldn’t do and what would work for me and my lifestyle. She was amazing and gave me the absolute results that I wanted. She had amazing customer service. Needless to say Felicity worked her magic and did a fantastic job! I’ve never had so many compliments about my hair and how gorgeous it is between the cut and colour. Highly recommend anything Felicity suggests between cuts, colours and products. It’s a 10 out of 10 for customer service and stylist work. Amazing and will be coming back.

This is the third time got the worst hair cut for me and my husband, they are concentrating to do the haircut fast rather than perfect. Do you know how much frustrating it will be to not to have a perfect hair. Even after showing pictures on how to do.. they gave the worst hair cut ever. The hair cut lasted hardly for 10min.. used a trimmer to do my husbands and the trim was uneven too.. first 2 visits we thought it was quiet busy and then today the 3rd visit there were no people today still they did the worst hair cut.. oohhh sorry.. I should not say hair cut.. “worst trim”.. we are never going back and would never prefer it to any of my friends.

I went there yesterday to get a hair cut. The receptionist was really pleasant and seemed like she cares for people. I wish the rest of my experience was as good. Had a really terrible hair cut. Didn't realize how bad it was until I reached home. It looked all choppy and hair was of different length at different spots. Not the quality of cut one might expect at this location. I only went here as it was closer. Won't be returning. I think this location works if you have perfect hair which doesn't require much work. I can't speak for all barbers at this spot and don't know the name of the barber but he was of shorter build than the rest.

It was my 1st time get my hair cut at this salon and Zach was absolutely wonderful at his job ! He made me feel at ease and listened to what I wanted to do with my long hair. He is very competent, talented, pleasant and friendly to talk to. He answered so many of my questions regarding proper hair care and even wrote a list of products he recommended for my type of hair. I highly recommend everyone to go with Zach as I am sure will be going back to him next time ! Thank you for such a great experience, Zach, and for taking your time do both doing your job well and listening to me talk :)

Excellent service, I have been there 3 times and never been disappointed. the guys are good at what they do and they love their job. Frankie is a pro at cutting men's hair!!! hands down to this guy, I have been to many hair dressers in the city and I have been searching for the right one and this guys know what he is doing, he listens to what you want and does it exactly how you want your hair to be. I recommended my brother to Frankie and my brother has been also hooked! The atmosphere is great too and relaxing, they're all chill people! thank you for an awesome job , cheers! :)

Very friendly girl at the front desk. Not bed looking saloon, and that is the only good thing I can say about them. I asked for a simple skin fade, I have short hair just wanted a skin fade and the guy Jay definitely doesn't know what that is. He made my hair wavy he didn't blend well at all. I went home I grabbed my clippers and I actually cut my hair 10 times better , yet I had to pay so I can cut my own hair. I've been cutting my hair for 20 yers now. I just didn't want to risk it because I was going on vacation. Definitely not going back.

Would not recommend going here AT ALL. The stylist completely ignored what I wanted when I told her MULTIPLE times to only cut my hair a few inches and proceeded to give me a huge chop that i DID NOT ASK FOR!!!! Not only that but it was cut blunt even though i asked for layers, and extremely uneven. I could have done a better job by myself. I am paying my own money here to not be listened to about what I want to do with my own hair?? 0/5 stars if i could. I’ve heard so many bad things about this place and now I believe it.

Absolutely fantastic salon! Staff are exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I felt comfortable and never pressured into any additional products or services. My stylist knew her stuff and was able to clearly explain every step along the way. My hair had previously been destroyed elsewhere and Katarina made me feel like a goddess by the time she was finished working her magic (and at a very reasonable cost!). My haircut and colour are those that I've wished to have for years and she got it absolutely perfect!

Please save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. We had an appointment at 4:30, arrived at 4:20, and they brought in 7 people before us. When it was 4:45, the lady was on her cell phone, said she'd find out why it's taking so long, and never came back. We walked around the desk, and saw her sitting on the chair on her phone playing a game. They saw us get our jackets and start to walk away, and they didn't care. Take your hard earned money and go to a place where they would appreciate it and appreciate you better!

I got my hair done by Chelsea last night, and I would HIGHLY recommend her and Fernandinos to anyone!! She took my hair from half bronzy blond half brown to FULL blond in one appointment, used incredible attention to detail, used techniques I haven't seen elsewhere, explained (and asked my opinion on!) what she was doing regularly, gave excellent clear advice, and I will never be going to anyone else again! Everyone in the salon was kind and talented from what I saw, and the price was extremely reasonable!

I always get my hair cut at Fernandions and evey time I've been really happy with my cut but this time was a different story. Seems like I got a new barber that was new to the team, when I told him I didn't want it to short on the sides and still long on top he ended up buzzing the sides and cutting the top awayyyy to short not to mention he was pretty rough and not very gentle its also uneven. I will continue to come to Fernandions but I will be asking for a different barber if pared with him again.

I sent a detailed email describing the type of stylist I was looking for because I needed a change and someone to guide me. I was surprised when I arrived and was booked for only a 30 minute appointment. The stylist didn't even receive a copy of my message. No fault of the stylist, who did everything she could to accommodate me and also did a good job. However, it wasn't a change - just a good clean-up. Don't waste your time sending a message as it is ignored by whomever receives the messages.

The only place I'll go to get my hair done. Chelsea is one of my favourite stylists. She takes the time to explain all the products and techniques she's using. She isn't one of those product pushers or up-sellers you get at other salons. She really listens to what you want and delivers. It is truly a salon experience and they make you feel right at home from the front desk staff to the other stylists when I can't get in with my fav girl. You won't regret trying them out!

Fernandinos is a great salon. Everyone is so friendly I am a regular at the salon I love my hair thank you Zach you are amazing. Zach coloured and cut my hair I love the colour and my”Cut” is awesome. I don’t like getting my hair cut so zach listened and only trimmed my hair so I kept my length. I highly recommend Zach He is the best. He does an awesome blow dry and my hair is hard to straighten. Thank you Zach so much. If there were 10 stars that’s what I would give

2 days ago I came and asked Chelsea to do my hair I showed her a pic and she said okay I'll do it it was exactly like the pic I showed to her. After blow dry my hair I was not satisfied because I choose that color and I thought it does not fit me. Chelsea saw my face was not happy she said give it 2 or 3 days and if you don't like it come back. I left everyone was saying I like your hair and today I washed it it looked better and I loved it. I had my hair done yesterday by Lisa. She is just the best! I'm 37 years old and have been looking for the perfect stylist my whole life. I've been going to Lisa for about 2 years, and am always happy. She knows exactly what I want without me having to say anything. She is professional and friendly. I got highlights, lowlights and a cut. Even my husband says it's the best my hair has ever looked. I highly recommend Fernandino- Bayshore

Good price on a men's cut $25. I've had better haircuts though from Hair Fellas. It was adequate. Barber was an interesting guy but he's very opinionated and a little abrasive in conversation. It didn't bother me but I could see it rubbing more sensitive customers the wrong way, and it's odd considering he's in a job where he spends a lot of time talking with all sorts of the public. Not sure if I'll return.

Brittany did a colour and cut for me today. Outstanding, couldn’t be happier. Just on my way home, got compliments from literally 4 strangers. Asking me where I got my hair done, and of course I told them! Really not a compliment to me, but to her skill, she did an awesome job. I've been here twice now and they did a good job both times. I've gotten my hair cut on the barber and the salon side and it seems that their hairdressers are well skilled because neither the gentleman nor the lady left me unsatisfied with my haircuts, respectively. Will be returning again, as the other barber shop I usually go to is always far too busy in advance and I prefer not to wait.

Solid Price for haircuts, all the barbers and stylists are social and you’ll always have a good time with them and the hair wash they offer truly makes he whole experience worth what you pay for. Sam has been my barber for a while and it’s definitely been a pleasure going to him. Recommend to anyone looking for a barber that will line you up nicely and and give you the haircut you want!

Went to get a haircut yesterday. Seemed ok once it was complete and had product put in my hair but once I got home and had a closer look I could see multiple areas where my hair was cut uneven, cut it way too short compaired to what I asked, didn't blend in the sides to the top properly, and back instead of being cut straight at the bottom on the fade was jagged. Won't be coming back.

Best hair salon in Ottawa!! I’ve been to multiple well known salons in the city and Fernandino was by far the best. Always leave a little freedom to my hair stylist to do what they think will suit me best and have never been more satisfied after coming to this salon. They use the best and healthiest products for my hair. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who wants to get their hair done.

I have had a cut and style as well as an updo for a wedding done at Fernandinos Bayshore and both experiences have been amazing. Super professional stylists both times, prompt service, excellent products used, and the conversation is always fun and natural. Couldn’t say a bad thing about them. Highly recommend Josee as a stylist if you’re looking to be well taken care of!

Paid $280 for colour that bleeds CONSTANTLY no matter what. Four hours in the chair and it transfers to everything. Gorgeous colour, but I've dyed my hair before for years and only ever had this leakage problem with Manic Panic. I know there's different products to stop bleeding, and it's weird that at a salon it wasn't offered especially with such a vibrant colour.

Very bad experience. Brought my partner here for a men's haircut, the hair stylist was 20 mins late appointment, he cut the hair way too short and was not what was asked for. He also missed spots and we had to come back to ask to get it fixed, there was hair left all over the face neck and ears. Overall a terrible haircut experience and we won't be coming here again

The staff are nice but as a male they always set me up with a male barber and I always seem to have to do a little trim when I get home to fix stuff they miss. One time the guys were all busy and one of the women cut my hair and that was the only time the cut was 100% good. Guess it's partially my fault for assuming they can all cut hair well.

Katie and Felicity are SO kind and helped my hair dream become reality! Offered me coffee and water and were so nice and helpful the whole time and made me feel so welcomed and my hair also looks amazing 10/10 experience, couldn't be happier and can't wait for future appointments! It was my second time to go to this hair salon with the same guy hairstylist (what a coincidence eh?) I asked him to cut my hair just trim only and yet he started to blend both side. Sounds like he don’t understand and yet he did it in his own style in just 10mins. Clearly the outcome of my hair wasn’t my liking.

Booked an appointment in advance, where they did not call me to confirm their barber was not there when I arrive which result in canceling appointment, time and money wasted from going all the way there. Would much appreciated if the receptionist called to notify customer if there are any sudden changes

I was charged $40 for a bad 10 minute haircut. My usual place charges less than that and they shampoo my hair too. That price did not include styling apparently, and I had to ask the guy for gel at the end. After showering the next day, noticed he missed a bit of my bangs and I had to trim them myself.

Been coming here for 2 years. Always good barbers. Keeping me looking my best and nothing more I'd ask for than that as a customer. Good location in bayshore. Definitely if you can you should book an appointment they have walk in but not garunteed how long that will take. Overall good experience.

Trent did wonders on my husband and sons hair cuts we had another employee named Maurice cut thier hair and it looked Like a 2 year old had cut it Trent offered to fix thier hair at no charge and I’m so thankful he did! They now look awesome book with Trent! Advoid Maurice at all costs!

Katie has worked on me twice and I’m always satisfied with her work, and the conversation is always easy and flowing with her (I’m pretty introverted). Saw her for highlights both times. Fernandino Bayshore is always my go to when I’m in Ottawa and will always ask for Katie from now on.

The best place in the city! From the moment you walk in until the moment you walk out you are treated with 10/10 customer care. My hair always looks, feels, smells AMAZING and I am always beyond happy with my service. Fernandino is truly the best salon and would recommend to anyone!

I LOVE the colour and texture of my hair after having been pampered by Felicity. They really know their field of expertise (and the head wash/massage was really invigorating), so I would highly recommend them. I am So happy with the end result and am a Felicity fan for life!

I walked in just wanting a trim off the bleached ends, and I walked out with such nicely styled hair! I forgot the name of the stylist but she was so meticulous and thorough even with no specific requests. I wish I could have tipped but they do cash tips only.

I don’t go anywhere else. Lisa is very professional she makes my hair look beautiful. She always offers a beverage and snack makes me feel welcomed. Expert in blonde hair I would recommend her to everyone.

I came in just knowing I wanted my long hair much much shorter, and the stylist did an amazing job! My new cut looks nice even without any product, and feels so much better to me than my long hair did.
