My three sons moved out of the house years ago, but fortunately all still live in Ottawa. Imagine our surprise when over a family dinner we discovered that we all had the same barber! It’s not because of proximity. I live 11 km away from TopCut. In fact the closest of us is 6 km away. We are not alike in our hair styles. One has a full beard. One wears his hair short. The other is coiffed meticulously. Mine represent my era, I suppose. How did we end up with the same barber??? It’s not because of marketing or location. TopCuts has no marketing that I have ever seen. It’s location can be kindly called “out-of-the-way” on Slack Rd at Merivale Rd. I believe we each independently found TopCuts through word of mouth because of their focus on appointments kept, great haircuts, all at a fair price. More things in life should be this clear.

Both my two brothers and I have been getting our hair cut by Gary for about three years now. We've always left thrilled with the results, and the feeling that Gary takes the time to make sure each cut is perfected just the way he wants. I don't typically book my appointments - I just walk in and never even have to wait very long. This week, Gary was out of the shop when I happened to show up, and I decided that instead of coming back later, I would try out Chris as my barber. Chris was also flawless in his attention to detail and I can safely say that Top Cuts is not just a barber shop renowned for by Gary's work. They have a highly talented staff all around, and can make sure you leave satisfied after every visit. Will be coming back for as long as I can!

I've been looking for a good barber for years and have bounced from mediocre place to mediocre place. I am so glad I found these guys, the amount of time and effort I was given by Roni when he was cutting my hair and trimming my beard was great, not to mention it was way better than anything I had gotten anywhere else. I've paid far more than I did at this shop, yet Top Cut done a far better job at 1/4 of the price.. Would recommend this place to everyone.

I've been a happy customer for years and many of my family members and friends say the exact same thing. Funny thing is no one referred anyone else, we all just happened to find the exact same Barber over time no joke... it was strange actually...

I have with Gary for years and have never had a problem. A great guy to cut your hair. He pays attention to what you want and you have a nice conversation to boot. Very genuine individual. After years of going I found out that a huge number of my male friends all go to him, and none of use referred each other. If your a male with a head of hair, a pulse and a half decent personality this is the guy for you.

I started going in December of last year. I have had several different cuts/styles since then and I have yet to be disappointed. They know their styles and ensure that you are happy with the final look. I now take my boys there, too. Friendly, accommodating and very reasonably priced – excellent, really, considering the quality of service. Highly recommended. They have earned their 5-star review.

This place is incredible. The people are genuinely friendly and actually care about you as a person (not just a customer), and the haircuts are always awesome. This is the only place I have been to in Ottawa that delivers top quality haircuts in a peaceful environment. Top Cut has Top notch staff, with Top notch skills! Brought our son for his first cut ever, and Gary was awesome. Even when our boy got fussy, Gary was super friendly, patient, and very accommodating. He kept our boy entertained while giving him a great cut. It was such a good experience! I have been going here for a number of years and they do a seriously great job. You can walk in, or call ahead if you are on the clock. This place is great, I was running short on time to go to my normal spot and needed a haircut so I figured I'd try this place. Was not disappointed! Got a cut from John, super friendly dude and did a great job. Can't complain either - the haircut was only $19. Would highly recommend them! Top Cut might just become my new go-to barbershop.

Sometimes the place is not so clean, they uses the same scissors, hair comb, apron without sanitizing, they are sometimes in a hurry to cut your hair if they are busy, leaving my haircut not done properly! But I going there now since they opened Gary is a nice guy same as the other barber. I rated 4* it’s because of the cleanliness.

After reading the positive reviews I booked an appointment and all I can say is "wow". The way Gary cuts hair is an art form. Service was great and the rates are excellent. Been going to this place for a couple years here and there and overall and I've been satisfied with their haircuts. I'm giving them 3 stars because I feel like they rushed my last few haircuts. Also, correct me if I am wrong. Gary usually charges just under $20, right? I was straight up charged $22 for my last haircut.

I've been getting my hair cut by Luigi or one of his partners for 39 years. So I am quite loyal to him and followed him here when he left Hair World. It is a small and simple barber shop, but I am looking for a good hair cut and conversation, not gimmicks, so I have no intention of going elsewhere.

So glad I listened to the positive reviews! Came in, showed Ray a picture of the style I wanted and walked out looking like a carbon copy of the image. Very good work, friendly staff, $19 for a regular men's cut is fair. Would recommend to anybody and will definitely be coming back here next time.

Great place for a cut. Go here regularly. The boys there have made it happen a few times with last minute drop in but I would suggest an appointment because they are always busy. Ray always takes care of me but all the boys there are great.
