Excellent place. Excellent service. And beautiful livestock. I contacted the store via Facebook message to inquire about the availability and price of a particular fish that I had researched and was interested in to start my new tank, and I was replied to within minutes! And not only that, because I had sent the message after store hours, the shop owner quoted me the price and availability as a guess. but then later contacted me in the next morning to tell me that his quote was a little off and he gave me accurate information about the fish. Fantastic service and communication from the shop owner, and the employees were knowledgeable and showed a passion for their livestock. I also wanted to buy some live plants for my tank; when I named and pointed out one of the smaller potted plants that I was interested in, the employee picked it up, and then he saw a better, more full-looking plant of the same species, hidden back a little bit and he grabbed me the better plant for the sale. It is just small things like this and using black colored plastic bags to transport purchased fish so as to avoid stressing them out more than necessary. Awesome experience. I would definitely recommend these guys.

GREAT selection of very healthy fish and VERY nice staff. Always have what I'm looking except this time. What I was looking for is a catfish that is kinda hard to find, but the employee that helped me jumped on the phone to ask if they could get one and I was told yes. I forgot to leave my name and number but that gives me a great excuse to go back lol!! I did walk out with 3 beautiful Discus, snow white parrot, 2 black and white parrots (very hard to find) and an gorgeous Tiger Oscar. I got these guys to add to my already established tanks with fully or almost fully grown tankmates. The employee that helped me was gentle and I could tell was picking out the biggest and best looking ones. I'm so happy with my new water babies cant wait for a few to grow a bit more so they can get out of my grow out tanks and into their life homes! I have bought most of my fish from an online store over the years and have built a great relationship with them but after finding Fish Paradise a month ago I will be taking the drive from Granbury to Ft Worth more lol!!! What a place! I was expecting to come into a fish store that was... well, a "fish store". This place is much more than that! They had all sorts of water dwelling creatures. From their impressive coral systems to the awesome variety of axolotol, discus & shrimp. (They even had the infamous mantis shrimp!) We could have spent all afternoon here. However, this place is no secret. It was hopping! The employees helped me find the food I needed (which they have an impressive selection) & also helped me find some fish that I was looking for. My only complaints are that I'm 90% sure that the employee that got me my fish got me two males instead of a male/female duo I requested. But sometimes it is hard to tell. Also, some of the fish are kept in small quarters... yes, yes, I do realize I was in a fish store. I can't help but feel sorry for them, though. Great selection & knowledgeable employees. I'll be back as soon as I can!

Store is cramped but has a good # of fish. However, could not get anyone to help us. Asked an employee if they could answer a question, she said just a minute, 15 minutes later we simply left. The other employees (and i assume the owner) didn't seem interested in helping you unless you were asian. Prices are pretty good. Really the only reason it's even getting 2 stars. Despite the prices, we will not be back. I'd rather spend more and be treated well than ignored. Edited to add: went back after all, got 5 fish. Two died within 3 days, both species all ready doing great in the tank. Returned with the fish only to be asked if I brought a water sample with me. Um. No. It was the fish, not my tank. Only to be told they don't guarantee their fish. WHAT?? So I spent $55 on each of these and they don't guarantee?? Even Petsmart and other local fish stores have guarantees!! Never going back. Changing to 1 star.

What an awesome store. The variety of live stock offered is unlike anything I have ever seen. Amazing. The staff is often busy, but knowledgeable. And I second the sentiment that they do not simply try to sell you items just for the sake of the sale. They are not trying to hustle you into buying things that you do not need. People that have reviews on here for 4 or five years ago complaining that their fish had ick when they brought them home...I have not seen evidence of poorly kept tanks in the store. This issue must have been rectified over time. And then there is a 1 star review because they are closed on Monday? That is ridiculous. The man owns the business, he can run whatever hours he prefers. Goodness. So don't plan to go in on a Monday, even though the guy is there cleaning the tanks, the shop is closed. Enjoy it the other 6 days of the week!! And you will, because it is awesome!

I'm glad that I stopped by Fish Paradise today, I've been reluctant to shop there because of past experiences over several years. I'll say the atmosphere was less than welcoming, the store was unorganized & their prices seemed a bit over exaggerated (in my opinion). TODAY WAS GOOD! It appears that things have changed. I was welcomed @ the door. I was helped by a young lady that was well informed & helpful with me making the best decisions for my needs. The store is set up better, it has more stuff in there than they have room. But who doesn't? The prices are competitive. Overall I think Fish Paradise is headed in the right direction. The owner should be thankful to the staff it has. They friendly, knowledgeable, & care about the place and it shows. I'll be back soon. If you haven't been in a while, I recommend you give them a chance to change your mind. I'm glad I did.

I am a fish fanatic and have been to a lot of fish stores in the DFW area. Fish Paradise is by far one of the worst and most inhumane fish practices out there. I called asking for a specific type of fish and they informed me that they have some in stock. I drove 40 minutes and was highly disappointed. They only had one fish of the kind I was looking for and that fish was very beat up/looked sick. Along with that, this place had large fish stocked up at the top with no room to move. The glass was so dirty, you couldn’t even see the fish. There were many problems wrong with this fish store, such as hoses everywhere, dead fish in the corners of tank, overstocked tanks, extremely dirty, etc. I left feeling very sad because of the way the fish are being treated. I’d recommend any other fish store in the DFW area.

Loved this place. We toured 15 fish stores in DFW over 2 days. This one is definitely top 4. You may find prettier stores in DFW, but this one has the Best Selection of plants, period. I had a list of 15 plants I want to fill my 160g tank. This is the only store in town with more than 3 of them. Plus, you only take home the fish, plants and products...not the store ambiance. They have tons of fish and mostly special and hard to find ones. Spending some serious change here and will be back. AND... their selection of hard and softies was second to none. Super healthy, giant even, and by far best selection of grown out corals. My tank looks awesome after I put on all the plants he had for me. Definitely put this on your list to visit for goodies.

I love the incredibly helpful staff at this store. They are always willing to help and and answer any questions you have. Not only that they have an amazing selection of bettas that aren't the generic ones you often see. I obtained mine here several weeks ago and he's as happy as can be! (pic of my betta while he was still in the store) They are being very kind and cautious during this pandemic and require you to reserve an appointment to be in store and require masks - which I appreciate because it helps ensure everyone in the store is being safe. They stock a variety of both aquatic fish, plants, and supplies - and if they don't have it they help you get it. Will definitely be returning again and again as needed.

It's an aquarium specific store, not the typical chain store. I'm not suggesting you avoid your local PetsMart or whatever you might prefer for a good price. I am saying you might find a bit more knowledge; resources; hardware; specialty fish specific to your aquatic goals. They are typically busier than the width of their walking space, so don't eat anything before you go. And on that note, purchase responsibly, as they do carry some things the average Joe shouldn't consider. Arrowanna, sharks and rays don't belong in your 10 gallon. Perhaps the Mantis Shrimp would be okay... until some bafoon tries to hand feed it. Just saying, have a look.

Someone over the phone saidI that since I lived an hour away they would send me pictures of there Ranchus so that I can see what they had in stock before driving down here. I said geeat. They sent a few of the smaller lower quality (cull) ones and said they had larger ones and they'd send me pictures of those. Well 2 days later no respond after requesting them again and here I am at the store and see all the Ranchus they have are basically commen goldfish without a dorsal fin (Cull Quality) . Asking $100!!!!! W**!!! Wasted 2 hours and $40 in gas.... I don't recommend this place. Poor quality and VERY expensive for Cull Quality Fish.

Terrible all there fish is sick They don’t take good care of their fish I bought one goldfish after my tank was stabilized for seven months and I already had one small goldfish in my tank and when I went to fish paradise I bought a goldfish to add to my tank and my other goldfish died because it was sick from the new one so then I cleared my tank and I got another fish from them and then three days later that one died would not recommend every fish you buy is sick good customer service but they don’t take care of their fish right I take care of them better please don’t waste your time or money and they are very expensive over priced

Have had hard time finding healthy cardinals over the last 45 years and MANY trys they always die off within 30 days. I have had my school of 35 for 3 months now with 0 deaths. I'm very impressed with the quality of the fish. If your looking for a fancy store this is not for you. If your for a great LFS with reasonable prices and high quality fish your going to love this place fresh or salt this is your one stop shop update one year later cardinals doing great as well as all the outher fish I have bought since discovering this store not fancy but most definitely one of the better LFS I have been to in last 50 years of fish keeping

Lydia was very nice and helpful. I’ve been there twice and the isle with the filters was pretty messy, however fish looked healthy and i only saw one panda corydora struggling out of all tanks. Some tanks are overstocked or have fish far too big for the tanks but it seems like they are keeping up with their water changes. I did see a decent amount of rusty razor blades around the store and found one inside a ceramic shrimp hide, it’s a little concerning how it might’ve got there being such a tight fit but Lydia removed it and was surprised. The store isn’t perfect but has a good selection of supplies and fish that seemed healthy

My favorite fish store in the DFW area. The drive to this LFS is about 40 to 45 minutes from my place but it’s so worth it. Every fish I have bought from this store has been healthy. They have a ton of selections and a ton of tanks in the store. The fish food the owner makes is REALLY awesome. My fish go crazy for it and I stock up on it every time I visit. The tanks are clean and well taken care of. The fish are very well taken care of. The staff is friendly and so is the owner. They also have a ton of healthy coral to pick from. There are only two stores I visit often and this is one of them. I highly recommend this store.

The people their are very nice and friendly they greet you with an smile on there faces. They're also very knowledgeable about fish, aquariums and any other creatures that they may have their at the store. Just a little info. There's a beautiful lady their i can't remember her name but she is the best if you have any questions about how to treat, set up, or what to feed you pet friends she would be my recommended person to talk to. I love the place but be careful because you will go in with the thoughts only spending 10 to 20 dollars and end up spending 50 to 100 or more i know I do almost every time that I have went.

I have been a frequent customer of this place over the years and as other aquarium shops go out of business, I go even more often. The store is very small but they have about 50 to 55% in saltwater fish and the remainder in freshwater fish. They have a very limited selection of plants so you might need to order what you want. They are however very good with giving sound advice and have some beautiful fish you would not find in other places. I'm always grateful for the straight up good advice that they give when I'm thinking about doing something different with my aquarium.

Low rating because this place sold me a baby tortoise and gave me care instructions that were completely wrong and actually life threatening (such as lighting (UVA) and substrate (coconut husk). Now my tortoise is in the ER and I’m learning that she has a severe calcium deficiency because she needed UVB lighting to help her metabolize the calcium. The ER has also told me that coconut husk, if ingested, can lead to impaction and even death. Please ensure employees are well educated on any creatures they are selling.

I have purchased fish, shrimp, and snails from this location on a few different occasions. All aquatic life are extremely healthy and more than exceed expectations in quality. The store has an amazing selection of hard scape plants and corals. My latest purchase for three Bumblebee Horned Nerite snails ( Cleathon Snails ) Took no time at all I Adjusting and have gotten straight to work doing what they do best. Thank you so much for your consistent hard work and quality in your profession!

When we purchased our home it came with a koi pond. I knew nothing about keeping a pond. When my water turned green and wouldn't clear they told me exactly what I needed. I hooked up the uv filter and the water was clear within 2 days. When my fish got sick one spring and began dying, they knew what was wrong and sold me the medicine that saved the rest of them. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The site is cramped and not fancy but the fish are very well loved and cared for.

This store has been so helpful, both in helping me set up a healthy environment for my (many) fish, and helping me treat them when things went wrong. Both when I had a snail die off and ammonia spike, and when my Oscar got Ich, the manager, Tiffany, answered all of my questions and gave me her advice on how I should treat the issues. Cannot recommend this store enough, staff is all helpful and their selection is great! They truly care about the fish and the longevity of the hobby.

I was ready to spend money. However, when I walked in it was like I was invisible. They could care less that a customer walked in. The Caucasian guy and the girl worker even looked at me and walked pass by me and didn’t say anything. Ten minutes later , a guy - another employee I’m assuming or manager saw me, then actually acknowledged my presence then the girl only said something to me minutes later. First time going and never going back. Definitely a bad impression.

This place is amazing. Tiffany (I hope I got her name right) is unreal. The knowledge that comes with the service is on point. They have an amazing selection and truly want you to succeed in the hobby. I can't recommend them enough. Your money will be well spent. If they don't have what you're looking for they will get it. Coral, fish and the exotic. Stop in and get everything you need or want. Photos are all additions to my tank that I purchased from them.

I just got into the hobby a few months ago and this is one of my favorite stores I have checked out so far!! Knowledgeable staff in regards to both plants and fish. Helped identify a bonus plant that hitched a ride with some of the plants I got when first setting up the tank. Have had phenomenal results with any additions to the community from this establishment. I would encourage any hobbyist new, amateur, or experienced to check out this store!!

I AM so impressed with the newest owners upgrade. The store has been reborn above and beyond anything it has ever been. I immensely enjoyed the cleanliness; well structured visual look; diligent and Customer Friendly employees; massively increased variety of the best fish; clean water; healthy fish; pleasant smell in the store; Owner has good professional disposition. And they appear to be still upgrading for the Customers.

I bought a $24 fish and it was just one and another that cost me like $5 and they both died. I took my water to get tested and they told me that my water was fine and that maybe I had gotten sick fish. I wish that fish paradise would do like PetSmart or Petco that if your fish dies, bring it back and they would give you a new one for the one that they sold you. I don’t want the money back just another fish. I am sad

Beautiful fish, beautiful extras, but wayyyyy overpriced compared to other places all over the metroplex. We drive 100 miles round trip to some stores just because they have great prices with a good selection. I am not going to drive the 10 miles to this place ever again because the prices were tripled on most of the fish. I'm all for business making money, but when its that much difference, something is a little fishy.

I can’t remember the name of the manager who helped us but she was Asian very nice and knows everything about fish omg my Wife and I left feeling as if we had been to school about fish. She knew everything and explained very detailed so we could understand. I recommend this store to everyone and the lady was Super if I could give her a raise I would, great find in her she truly loves her job.

I'll be back for sure!! My first visit to this store, and it was a great experience. They had a good selection of fish, as well as corals. And some that I haven't been able to find elsewhere in the metroplex.Their prices were good, with some great deals on colonies. I ended up leaving with a tube anenomie and a cyanarina. I love this store. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. They're really knowledgeable and can pretty much tell you everything you need to know. I Loved looking at all the different varieties of aquatic creatures they have. So beautiful! I have gotten 2 miniature mexican locsters there, snails, and a cool underwater plant. Always a pleasure shopping there, and just to look!

Excellent store for your aquarium needs. Always exceptional customer service. They're willing to answer questions and have the knowledge to do so. If you're just getting into the hobby this is a fantastic place to go, they will help you with anything you're unsure of. The staff here is very friendly and informative. My husband and I brought our 5 year old Twins in today and the young lady that helped us was a dream! She offered so much information, and was kind and patient with the kids following her and asking her so many questions. She even offered to let them touch sea urchin skeletons and they had a great time.

We go to Fish Paradise anytime we add to our aquarium or start a new aquarium. We love it all the employee's are knowledgeable the owner os down to earth! Huge variety of fresh water and salt water fish. They also have turtles, shrimp, lobsters just anything and everything you need or want. If I could I would work there that's how much we love it ❤️

I’ve been in the aquarium hobby for over 60 years and this is by far the best shop I’ve ever been to. I’ve been buying from these guys for over a decade. Whether it’s a freshwater beginner tank or a high dollar saltwater reef tank, they have it all. And they are incredibly knowledgeable, which they freely share. Most importantly, they are honest.

This place was recommended to us and I do recommend as well. The prices are higher, which is why I’m giving a 4star) but the staff are all very knowledgeable and super nice. They take their time to answer any and all questions and also have a pretty good stock on fresh/salt water fish. Have bought about 10 fishes from them without an issue.

The absolute best fish store in the DFW area. if you need help with salt water or if you need help with fresh water they are extremely knowledgeable and will take the time to make sure that your okay and have what you need. I will drive the 30 minutes any day of the week to make it out there just because of how nice and friendly they are.

Overly price, sell sick fish and no refunds. I recommend deworming medicine for your fish to prevent premature death. I bought two flower horn and 16 very expressive goldfish, that almost all came with parasites costing me 300 on losing a fish and buying medicine to meditate every aquarium I own. This cost me do much time and stress.

It is my local fish store! The current staff is awesome and the owner is super friendly. Tiffany is amazing and knows her plants AND always makes me feel welcomed. I never know what they will have, so always fun to go hunting. I understand that they try and buy from local breeders, so fish seem better quality than commercial shops.

The Mexican guy was nice and would say hi and help out. The Asian guy was rude and was talking bad to the workers I would ask him about the price and he will just say $160 and walk away. Then when we left he didnt say thank you. He was smoking out side the store right by the door I had my newborn with me really rude guy

I really like this place. They have such a variety of rather exotic fish and plants. Lots of coral and salt water stuff too. It's kind of disorganized/cramped for a retail establishment but personally that just makes it fun to find all kinds of things in all the nooks and crannies. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I've been doing business at Fish Paradise for many years. They have a great selection for freshwater & saltwater aquariums. Coral, aquatic plants, and a wide selection of fish and inverts. You're bound to find something special that you haven't seen before. The staff is very helpful & friendly, and prices are fair.

Customer service is amazing and so is the selection! I ordered from Facebook for curbside pick-up and was very pleased with the helpfulness of staff and our new additions are beautiful! We can't wait to be able to shop in-store again to see what other great selections they will have!

The staff is super helpful and friendly. They were very patient with us and answered all of our questions. After many great recommendations we finally made our choices and feel confident. We spent at least an hour just looking at all the different fish and plants they offer.

I've been going there for years they're always friendly have a variety of things from fish to plants,fish accessories, & even fish water. They helped me years ago with my first salt water tank set up they talked me through it, So Yes I LOVE This Place I hope y'all will too.

This place is so sick. It’s a little far away but totally worth the drive. They had a rlly big selection of fish, both salt and freshwater, and they all looked super healthy. The customer service was great too, you can tell they really care abt their fish.

Exceptional. 10/10. I started my 110 gal reef aquarium only having minimal prior experience with small freshwater tanks. FP taught me everything I know. They walked us through the setup and sorted us through a few crises. Awesome people. Awesome store.

This place was super cool! My 3 year old grandson loves going here and wants to go every time we get in the car. He also recognizes it if we pass it. I am pretty certain he would go ecru single day if my daughter took him. Really cool place.

This place is a place that cares about their fish! In the inside it's kind of cluttered, and disorganized but they are working on it. The fish selection for mbunas is great compared to other big name fish stores like Dallas North this place

This fish store has good selection. I found good fish I couldn’t find at other stores here so it’s a big plus. The customer service was decent. The prices are bit high but I was able to negotiate a price and came home with two awesome fish.

My husband and I love this place. We drive almost 25 minutes to get fish from here. They seem to have great prices. Have a wide variety of fish. Staff very friendly and if they dont know something they will get an answer for you.

A bit overpriced on most, but they still have great deals the staff are excellent and knowledgeable, all the fish are treated with meds so if your willing to pay a bit more your getting peace of mind for healthy fish.

Definitely love this store wish it was closer to me. Price on frozen fish food and some other thing are on the higher end of the scale but all in all a great store huge inventory and that will order whatever you want.

Great selection on frsh and salt water fish. They also have baby sulcata/ Giant African spurred tortious that are in excellent health. I would recommend them for a turtle or fish purchase.

I love this place! They have a variety of different fish; they even have turtles. They do close earlier than Petsmart but definitely worth coming here to buy.
