Flora is the WORST cashier you could possibly have in your company. I was directed to her line by her own manager. After waiting a long time in line, she rejected my request at the get go. She stopped everything, raised her voice and blamed me for getting into the "wrong line". Flora REFUSED to offer ANY help and it was the security guard who helped me find the manager. She only began processing my refund when the manager arrived. HOWEVER, she only end up refunding me 33% of my total refund and DEMANDED that was a full refund when I double - checked with her. When I asked the manger, and he confronted her; Flora REFUSED to even LOOK at her mistake. The manager then explained everything and after a couple of denials, she FINALLY agrees to refund me the rest of my refund. During this entire interaction, Flora, the cashier, held her head high and had the WORST attitude possible. She was in denial, stubborn, arrogant, rude, lazy, and most of all disrespectful and cocky! SHE DID NOT APOLOGIZE TO A SINGLE TIME FOR HER MISTAKES AND BLAMED IT ALL ON A CUSTOMER!! For anyone who is planning to make a return at foods co, my advice is to just find the manager and ask them to do it. There are NO SIGNS regarding returns in the store and cashiers like Flora will just give you the worst experience possible. I am not the kind that normally leaves bad reviews and complain about the customer service, but this hit differently...
At 9:30 on Friday May 27, 2022 I attempted to enter Food Co to go to the ATM and was told the store was closed, I didnt require the services of a cashier. The security Man proceeded to tell me that his word was final, and when I asked to speak with a Manager, he said what do you need to speak with a manager for, what I say goes, and Im telling you the store is closed. This is a clear example of the need for Customer Service Training as this security Man believes he is the End All, Be All. I spend over $1,000.00 on food for myself monthly and certainly dont need to spend it at Food Co. I attempted to call the store and the receiver was picked up engaging the call and then dropping it. After six years of shopping here I will take my food purchasing elsewhere. The reason Security stops the entrance of customers at 9:00 PM is that there arent enough cashiers available to service the quanity of late customers This appears to be a continuation of Poor Management. Whereas to close at 10:00 s your turning away Business in order to close without any overtime expenditure, and who is this servin, certainly not the Customer. HOW PATHETIC.
I gave this store three stars because there are too many negative factors to rate this as a 5 star. It's a solid 3 though because they are consistent and could easily improve to a 4. This grocery store doesn't seem to be very clean, it has that old we stopped caring 15 years ago look. It has a limited selection so don't expect to find new popular items or a huge variety. They also have those shopping carts that lock up and can't be rolled out the store which forced me to abandon my cart in the middle of the exit on the way out. I have also noticed that I occasionally find that some of the food I buy is very close to expiring. If I'm not in quick need of an item I usually shop somewhere else. The employees are always really nice and helpful though. I'm tempted to raise the rating to a four because of them but to be honest if the employees weren't so nice I would rate this place @ 2 stars. Edit: I've seen the quality greatly improved over the last few months. 4*!
The Foods Co. in the Bayview is a relatively small store, but it has a wide variety of groceries. The store has a good selection of fresh produce, meat, seafood, baked goods, dairy products, frozen foods, and household supplies. The prices at Foods Co. are generally very reasonable. The store often has coupons and promotions that can further lower the prices. The customer service at Foods Co. is generally average. The Cashiers are friendly and helpful if you need to get something from one of the locked boxes. The store is also clean and well-organized, but the outside is not so much as there are a number of panhandlers and third-party hawkers lurking around to sell their wares. The Store has low prices but may not have everything you need. I will still recommend the store if you need some fresh cheap groceries.
I had lots of shopping experience in groceries stores and supermarkets and so on. And foosco is one of those I always would like to give five stars. But today, I really get disappointed with the the cashier LIFANG L’s service. I was trying to her counter because there’s nobody. Almost at the same time, their manager show the other customer there. Then the cashier asked if that customer wants first regardless I was arrived first and waiting. I am ok if someone told me that’s my illusion to be earlier than that customer and let her first. But the cashier told me that’s my fault and they serve whoever they asked first?!?!?! Excuse me,not first come first serve?!?!?! Ok! I tried not to ruin my day then didn’t argue with her but can not calm myself down!!!
Love going on Tuesdays, it's not the busy. I don't like the fact that there is never a cart. People help out putting back cart for others! Please...I always see Mark the security guard. He is tall, very humble with a smile. And when I see him he is always helping out at the register or helping others in someway. I wish I could see the manager doing this, or going the xtra mile in bringing back carts..Who is he? What does he look like? Does anyone know his name. Get out there & fix your store..At least they have hired new people which is nicer, more pleasant than ever before, grumpy or bad attitudes which means get another different job! Overall prices are better than Bigger Supermarkets. Thank you for your service staff and Mark, the security guard.
The meet sections products were horribly packaged had large wholes. When I confronted the store director he asked if I wanted his team workers to rewrap the meat, I insisted on getting a newer cut from the back room. When it came time for them to do away with the uncovered meat, the clerk who assisted me with cashing out asked me if I wanted her to put it back as if she wanted me to. I think this store needs to work on its customers service skills, and cleanliness because the same night this happened the ambulance was called for a man who was bleeding from wounds to his face. So who knows if some how his blood did or did not make it to the uncovered meet?
I'm sad that I was not able to give this 10 stars for the entertainment that was provided today. Today as we entered the store we saw that security guards were arguing with a mother/daughter shoplifting duo. The arguing got louder then it turned into a knock down, drag out, tasing and pepper spraying incident. That was before all the punching, slapping and tabasco bottle smashing happened. I've always seen incidents like this on the net, but I has never witnessed one. Finally, the cops showed up and the duo ended up in a paddy wagon. Good times. Oh, the price for liquor is crazy cheap, best prices I've seen. The food is also very inexpensive.
Used to hate going here because dirty shopping carts and always lack of it. Recently they got a bunch of new clean and in large quantities. Never have to wait for people finushbusing theirs. This place is next to Batview police department. Parking lot gets full but plenty. Good deal on food items. Pretty much stocked. Relatively clean place Staff is nice. You do get some riffraffs go to the store sometimes but overall ok place. Next thing they should do is repave the parking lot and get rid of the recycle place will free up parking space.
I absolutely adore foods Co not only do they have wonderful prices but their selection is large their produce and meats are fresh and they offer good customer service I will say that they are incredibly busy during standard shopping times like after work till 7:00 p.m. however even lines that are backed up all the way to the back of the store seem to move very swiftly but if you plan to visit during a standard commute time or a Saturday be sure to allow yourself at least 30 to 45 minutes for shopping and waiting.
4 weeks ago one of your security guards intimidated Me by having a gun on him he came up in my face and told me he would see me outside because I made a remark asking why are you following me around the store he got a little upset with the my remark and told me to come outside then he flinched at me but I didn't move I felt very intimidated he's the tall Afro American security guard you have working there he needs to be reprimanded I refuse to come to the store there can I have a response
I'm from out of town and I tried to go to Walmart to buy groceries but after that horrible trip I'm so happy I came here afterwards. They always have sales and they have plenty of fruits, vegetables, and meat in stock. It's a good idea to come here on a weekday since the weekends get pretty packed. Clean and well organized store! Also a tip for all of my out of towners from a Texan, I didn't know that in SF you have to pay for plastic bags so bring your own bags from home.
I was completing a shopping order for someone else and I cannot believe I drove over 40 minutes to get there and was treated so poorly. The store is dirty, rude manager, security guard and store clerk. I was treated nice at first by the gentleman that gathers the carts but everyone else sucked. We all have to have a little more patience with each other during this difficult time.
The staff are friendly and likeable and the people who sell stuff outside the store have great offers for sensual items and other services like free phones and window washing services. The prices are good for the food they sell. Especially by San Francisco standards. The only downside is a lack of organic food and not enough carts at the front of the store sometimes.
Parking lot is very busy and dirty, went there today, unaware they no longer accept regular Visa card, only accept visa debit, cashier Fang L give me a very unpleasant explaination, . Why should I lie to you, we already post that at the front door, but the security guy at the front door is very nice to explain the new policy, don’t want to go back there again
The most economical place to purchase groceries that I know of without having to buy items in bulk. Whole Foods on 8th and Market didn’t last very long before they closed up shop and Safeway on Market and Church has gotten so expensive…I can’t seem to buy more than a couple bags of groceries there anymore. The staff is polite and work hard for their earnings.
Great grocery store! Tons of sales going on and low prices! Even the watermelon there was 19 cents. Foodsco has a large amount of groceries and fresh produce that is kept clean. The staff are friendly and help you find what you need, and know exactly where it is, and they can also make you have a good laugh once in a while. Overall, I rate this place 5 stars.
There's a reason why this store is referred to as Ghetto-mart. Does have some inexpensive prices sometimes. And make sure you grab a bundt cake on the way out, they apparently are free going by the number of people I see just swipe one up while the "security" guard is looking at his phone as they walk out of the store.
The staff is outstanding. They're friendly, courteous & knowledgeable. Employee named Fang is the best! The security officer named Mark Green, he's awesome! Mark works hard! He's an outstanding peace & order enforcer, but he's friendly, courteous & helpful. He also helps out the store employees. A very good man.
There were no shopping carts near the entrance. My husband had to walk a quarter of a mile to get to the carts that were at the end of the parking lot. No good for those living in the community. I can always drive to another store but the elderly who live in the community might not have the same option.
Its a decent grocery store in my neighborhood. The staff are friendly I have never had any problems. I am knocking off one star for lack of selection of organic/vegan/ healthfood options. Also it would be great if they stocked some bottled iced coffee drinks for the morning in their front coolers.
Workers are nice, very close to ghetto area. You have "people" that feel they are entitled and act like all should bow down to them. I mean these "people" are paying with food stamps and still act like they are owed. Sorry for this comment but tired of these disrespectful uneducated "people".
PROS: Good prices, meat is fresh, i see the butchers restocking every time I've been there. the produce is good. CONS: You have to bag it yourself and be quick. Bagging area is cramped and narrow especially on a busy day and you have to bag around entire families bagging their own groceries.
Solid grocery store. Foods Co has more than the essentials (surprisingly good produce and it's inexpensive) with inexpensive meat, but it is smaller than the megamarts in suburbia so fewer choices of soda and so on. The staff is very friendly, and the checkers are plentiful and fast.
You get the exact same stuff at Safeway at double the price frugal is I think one of the best places to shop just as fresh and have all the same stuff I spent 200 Food Co at Safeway cost me 375 and the people there are not snobby very pleasant and helpful I give it 5 stars
Friendly staff, ample parking, the only problem I have had in the past were fruits n vegetables were not always fresh. However, they have reorganized and redesigned the inside of store. Everything is placed in right order and fruit n veggies are looking fresh n good.
The most ghetto grocery store. Prices are good just make sure you lock your doors and don't leave nothing in your car or else it will get broken into. If you really need groceries and you have no other option it's fine but if you are not go to another grocery store
Always find what I need. It may not be the specific brand, but the alternatives are also good. Have only encountered friendly and courteous staff. Plenty of parking and shopping carts. Supporting local businesses is important. Without support, they usually go away.
This location is starting to close earlier and earlier than it advertised closing time, they're supposed to close at midnight but here it is only 11:30 and they're closed that's ridiculous they already have the most low quality of produce and now this come on now.
A Asian person there employee had me standing in line while they talk to their friend and mine you this person was on duty not on a brake at the time & there was seven other customers in line waiting to get their grocery rung up poor customer service December 2021
The lines take a little longer than usual to get through but it usually because people are buying cart loads of food. Prices are super cheap and I usually come here to get meat and canned foods. Overall, a great place to get cheap groceries with good quality.
I had 2 totally separate orders 9 and 9 items and the asain checker was literally arguing with me refused to check me out so instead I stood in line for a good 35min This is rediclous there wasn't even anyone else in his line.. VERY RUDE!!! …
Better than Grocery outlet in Portola.not a bad store. Best priced. And you know it has a lot of great stuff in it, a lot of good deals, lots and lots of produce fresh, it is kind of in the hood so it is perfect for the area and I really like it
Great for your neighborhood store for simple things ,milk ,can foods, dressing ,basic, very basic and u don't live far from a Foodco, employee's are very friendly, with a few exceptions, but, for a typical grocery store, i will say, Safeway.
They don't have a good selection of products fruit isn't that good. Foodsco on 14 the St. has a better selection. The only reason I gave three stars is because it's in my neighborhood otherwise it would have been One Star
Place is rude and did not even help a women today that accidentally tipped her cart and all her groceries fell on the floor. I helped the young women and got all her stuff for her and cleaned up all the mess as well
Not much to say, grocery store with all of the basics. This isn't Whole Foods - shampoo and liquor are behind lock and key and there is heavy security. However, staff is always nice and I've never had a problem.
Everything you need at a cheaper price. Just look at the ingredients on everything you buy there because some stuff has high fructose corn syrup. The first 3 ingredients are what the product has the most of!!!
The place is a mess. Cashiers take forever to help customers, customers take forever to pay, and leading to slow checkout. Despite their policy of mandatory masks, neither customers nor employees wear them.
Prices are inexpensive name brand Foods everything is organized I have went to a few foodsco and it seems all Isles are organized the same so it's easy to find stuff I'm very happy with my foodsco
Defo ghetto superstore like another reviewer said! But it does mean that it's slightly cheaper than most places. It's got most things you need. Shame the car park is so small, it's gets very busy!
Cheap groceries but overall good food. The shopping carts are mostly junk though and it can get pretty crowded especially since they don't have anyone bagging groceries, you have to do it yourself
It was busy and crowded, overall was good, the ribs were great and they were fully stocked with items for the fourth of July cookout! Got all the items I needed to have that great 4th dinner!
Basic grocery store that is getting better. Some organic produce & dairy, excellent prices on basic goods. Prices much lower because it is a no-frills place where you bag your own groceries.
The store needs CARTS !......NOW !....the store has security....bring the hand baskets back.....your shrink and waste should not be a priority above taking care of the customer.....shame.
There are very little organic products. Definitely not an organic-focused supermarket. Service was not good. Can’t find a person to help me when I wanted to get the meat which ran out.
Very rude employees one female black one female Asian or Latino ask for a price check on BBQ charcoal and she refused the other just hung up never never never going to the store!!!!
Decently stocked. Usually really busy, not staffed well at cashiers, though stalked while shopping probably looking for shoplifters, weird . Produce is not great but is expensive.
Good general shopping on the S. Side of 3rd St. Backup plan if I missed Duc Loi or Gross Out, M.O.M's for specialty fish/poultry plus all the shirp chips you can handle .=^●
Came in here a couple days ago. Please avoid shopping in this store at all cost. The manager (Some old white dude) is useless when it comes to anything like sales or help.
On tonights visit I was unable to use a shopping cart because the anti theft feature on the carts was activated and security did not have the key. This is disgraceful.
Good place to get meat/chicken when on sale. Other grocery items are hit or miss - as always you have to know the normal prices of items to figure out the best deals.
Most all the sales and food is gone by the time I shop. NOT liking crowds I don't go at the 1st week. The shelves should be restocked for patrons like me. Disabled.
So-so prices, very little choice for all natural or vegan products, good to go to because it's set in a convenient location. Small store so not a lot of selection.
Prices are good but not as good as Grocery Outlet. Ample parking. Selection is adequate to poor. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Big savings over Safeway.
I just left my full cart after 20 minutes in a checkout line that did not move. This place is so dedicated to cheaping on staff that they sell nothing.
Super crowded at 5pm. The isles needed attition but the customers and staff where pleasant. A bit rough in appearance, but a neighborhood store. Gritty
Great place to buy groceries in bulk. The sister store like Costco, but located close to the neighborhood. Had too much to carry to get the photo.
Awful experience. I used express checkout and the line moved so slowly, the employee working the register allowed a friend to cut in front of us.
Parking lot is a disaster. Food selection is pretty good, however, more selection would be better. deli, meats and seafood counter badly needed!
The worst I would rather go to the corner store! They have armed guards and a line as long as Costco to get out of there! Don't risk your life!
WELL THE SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD THE LINES WASN'T LONG AT ALL, I WAS ABLE TO GET IN AND OUT IN A REASONABLE TIME WITH OUT ANY HASSLE WHAT SO EVER
I'm not here too often I just drive there to kill time for Street sweep. They are one of the few grocery stores that are open until 11:00 pm.
It's ok. Not in the best neighborhood. Parking lot is a mess, carts all over the place and trash everywhere. Good deals on some items though.
It reflects the neighborhood. I Love it. no complaints... I'd give it 5 stars if they sold sandwiches.. Guess that's a complaint …
There products are not bad. I was a bit unsatisfied with their meat selection. This place almost never has carts for their customers lol
You can usually find parking, but this place is dirty. Don't know if you can trust the quality of any refrigerated items. Cheap prices.
Best grocery prices in SF. Williams location is MUCH better than the one on Folsom. Great provide selection and Kroger brand products.
It's was crowded but the line move fast I like you because they aren't you have a good deals and fresh cool my visit there was great
Not enough checkers to help customers checkout. Staffs are rude and very unprofessional. I come here only if I have no other choice.
Foods co on Williams is a great place to shop, but not to do security, black folk, still a lot, young people, it is dangerous,!!!!
Full of rude people and lots of lousy clerks. Made up for it is the beers are cheaper. Food is also good deals, but low quality.
Parking lot alway full!!! The employees always look at you like your going to steal! They're rude when you ask them a question
Super cool grocery store! It’s cheap. And, they have croger products. I really looking for that. It’s similar to Walmart!!
Not good, dirty, can't find items and really bad customer service, no body knows names of produce, prices or availability.
Good store if in the neighborhood but not too big in size. More options if you travel to Safeway less than 10 miles away
I like It they have lots of products and lowered prices but I got a small problema I live in the other side of the City.
Because it's an affordable store to shop. You can get what you need in a low price cause now a days it's too expensive.
It has decent selection. The staff are nice overall. Sometimes it's the people going there that ruins the experience.
Sometimes it can be very helpful when the price is nice but could be cleaner and more fresh produce and other food.
Def not a Safeway. It's crazy grocery store. More like a run down grocery outlet. Most well go to the dollar tree.
It's busy but the prices are great. It's practically the only place I can afford to buy groceries at in the city,
It is one of the only few foods store in the area. Thus is the smaller foodsco but they have what you will need
Vegetables are bad. Milk spoiled i have had to take back items while in line. There sales are not reslly sales.
I like the Foods Co. on 14th and Folsom and the one in Richmond WAAAAYYYYYY better than the one on Williams st.
Good products, reasonable prices, definitely recommended. The down side is always a long wait to check out.
Nice employees working @ this location.but they security guard that works on today 05/26/20222 very rude.
Great The Best in the City the Staff are sweet people Its my favorite store to buy my Groceries …
Same plusses as store on Folsom but smaller overall, narrow aies. Less sketchy inside, client wise.
Groceries at a decent price. Hours operation are convenient for most shoppers. Opens from 6AM-12PM
it's convenient everything stock real good everything's fresh customer service is pretty good
They have most of the staples but for specialty items you have to go to other grocery chains.
Selection in the produce and meat department could be better, but gotta love the low prices.
It's okay. Please do not purchase any sugary drinks unless you want to pay an extra tax fee.
Awesome service great prices and off the hook 's......best kool-aid prices in the …
Better than the Grocery Outlet on Silver, but not better than the FoodsCo on 14th & Folsom.
First time I was able to get in there and out quickly the cashier helped pack my groceries
First time I was able to get in there and out quickly the cashier helped pack my groceries
Great store for shopping for food and whatever else you need. Fruits and vegetables fresh.
If u want to wait a while just to be checked out here ur grocery store … just skip it ..
