I made an appointment to get my dogs immunizations done for today. I made the appointment 3 weeks ago. Then I get an email late last week that they made a mistake and had to have a doctor see my dog and not just a tech for the immunization. They cancelled my appointment and wanted me to make one for a full exam. This delays my dogs necessary immunizations. When I contested and said it was crucial my dog get her heart worm medication on time and asked to keep the appointment. The response was that it was too late. The appointment was already cancelled. I have had a few other issues with staff there over the last 2 years. We have 3 animals around 3 years old that went there at some point. Had already moved the other two to another vet. When I replied to their email after they informed me that the appointment was already cancelled they said it was law that a dog had to be examined yearly. I am not sure this is even true but if so, then why did they book me for a tech visit in the first place? Ultimately it’s my dogs health that is now at risk. So after that when I said I would be looking elsewhere they simply sent an email with her file. There are many other choices in the area. I will be exploring options.

I have always loved the care that I received from Forest Glen Animal Hospital. Yesterday, I drove out all the way from Woodstock, IL in order to get my cat in for an appointment. The staff is wonderful and so careful with my cat. I have 2 Care Credit Cards. I specifically handed the 1 card that I wanted the front Desk lady to use for my cat's care. Apparently, she did not look up my account by typing in the number off of my Care Credit Card. I could see she must have went and either the last 4 numbers of my social security number, or she used my first and last name and zip code to look it up. If she did do it that way, she did not check the number on the physical card against what popped up on her screen. Had she used the actual card number, she would have seen that I have another card. I'm not sure why it works this way, bottom line I use the Master Card for other purchases for only my mother. The regular Care Credit Card is for me. I took pictures of the card and my drivers license and emailed them off to FGAH. Once the hospital opened, I was able to have them open the email and resolve the matter of putting the purchase on the correct card. Thank you!

We recently brought our two cats in for a wellness check. The entire process was chaotic and unprofessional. Points of issue were: -Technicians being confused about what was being asked (and poor communication both with us and with the veterinarian) -The desk clerks having zero understanding of the billing (as well as a mysterious charge and how it could have gotten there before we even visited) -A very rushed and inattentive veterinarian who straight up forgot to even address several concerns we had with one of the cats (even after we inquired a second and even a third time during the visit, we couldn't get a straight answer) -Upsell, upsell, upsell! The only real time they spent on things was definitely when trying to upsell services and/or tests. Honestly, a very sour experience dealing with a business that seems to care more about getting you in and out and billing as much as possible while you're there. Frustrating. I will not be back and will warn everyone in my neighborhood against going to this particular clinic. There are plenty around, so do yourself a favor and count them out at Forest Glen.

The response to my earlier review below shows that this "business" has lost any sense of connection with it's long time customers and shows no concern for the pets. The initial appointment I made had to be 3 weeks out because of their availability. I received no less than 4 reminder emails of the appointment before they "discovered" THEIR error and then my dog's health had to suffer. Then they contact me less than a week before when I was out of the country and told me that I had no choice but to reschedule. In their response to my initial review, they said they tried to work with me. That is FALSE! They merely said I had to reschedule. They would not even try to work me in on the day I had scheduled 3 weeks prior and had nothing for weeks to come. Then in their response they go on to blame me..., the customer and say its best for me to take 3 animals elsewhere... Man, who runs a business like that. The good part about it, I now have found a new vet in the area that had an appointment for my dog on Wednesday. They seem very nice and I can't wait to put this shabby establishment in my rear view.

We have been taking our dogs to Forest Glen Animal Hospital for nearly 7 years. The doctors, techs and staff are wonderful and we trust them completely with our dog’s health needs. Last year we had to put down our 17 year old dog and Forest Glen made one of the worst moments of our lives much more comfortable. Dr. Ferguson took her time first talking with us about our older dog and his many health issues and difficulties. She made us feel more confident and comfortable with our decision and the process was quick and peaceful. They also handled cremation and sent us condolences card signed by staff and with our dogs paw prints included. They truly went above and beyond and we will never forget it. Now, during this pandemic, I have visited twice with our other dog. I am so impressed with the safety/no contact system They have in place. They are thorough and it is greatly appreciated.

This vet hurt my dog permanently and took him away from us today. I am writing this wishing I didn’t have to considering we’ve come here for years. Long story short, my dog got ahold of a small amount of rat poisoning from the yard. We immediately took him to the emergency room and they induced vomiting. He slept great through the night and was playful in the morning before we took him to Forest Glen. I picked him up at 6 hoping he’d be the same way I left him. I was very wrong. He was severely shaking to the point where my sister and I had to stop driving. Three nurses told us he would be 100% okay when I asked them multiple times. My dad met us and we tried to take him back to Forest Glen, but they refused. He then stopped responding and we didn’t feel a heartbeat. By the time we had gotten to the emergency room, it was too late. I will forever miss this little guy.

It’s sad to see the place is still open after killing a number of dogs in the past reviews :/ I hope they don’t do this to anyone else. It really is disgusting how people go to school for this career and waste money on an education, yet don’t know how to do the job. They were not able to tell when my poor three year old dog was seizing and sends my dog home with us while he passes away in our arms within minutes of leaving. Both doctors and all three nurses who were there need to get their licenses taken away ASAP. I highly do not recommend this place. It sucks to see they live their lives everyday normally knowing they are killing animals.

We had to cross our beloved twelve year old golden retriever to the other side this evening. Her issues went on for six days. Everyone involved could not have been more helpful or sympathetic. We had many questions over the course of Bella’s issues and never once did we feel like we were bothering anyone. During our final appointment this evening we were given all the time we needed. They gave Bella such respect through this trying time. I hope to never have to do this again but this is where I would want it to happen if need be. Thank you everyone at forest glen especially Amber. I know my Bella is no longer suffering and at peace

We recently moved to the area and needed to find a new vet for our 18 month old poodle mix Minnie. I can barely commit to a pizza or a manicure without doing weeks of research and so I went down many rabbit holes reviewing all the local veterinarians and narrowed it down to a handful based on reviews, price, and location. Ultimately Sandy was so kind on the phone and helped us with our records and paperwork. She guided us through the process and we were able to get Minnie seen the same day. The staff made Minnie and I feel welcome and at ease, and kept us informed at every step of our visit.

Great first visit with our new pup, Henry. The staff was so excited to meet him. We loved how attentive all the staff were - it's clear they all really love animals. Our vet Dr. Whitfield took a great amount of time answering all our questions about treatments, benchmarks for his growth, things about his breed - basically anything and everything, and also encouraged us to reach out for any questions at any point. We definitely felt great support and encouragement in this new venture. Glad to have such a great team right in our community. Plus, Henry loved his first pup cone!

Honestly thought that vets were there to help when in need, yet that wasn't the case here. My two year old puppy was taken away from us today. One would assume that if these people that specialized in being a pet doctor they understood what they were doing, but they clearly didn't considering they said multiple times our dog would be ok after eating a harmful substance that was life threatening the previous day. After we got him back, he was in horrible condition and within minutes he passed away in my arms. If I was able to give 0 stars I WOULD!

Turned away a dying cat with my 14 year old son holding him, I guess maybe it’s not a hospital ER and Leo was not a patient. Even if we had records for Leo, they turned us away at rush hour. He never made it to Belmont ER on time, Died from asthma attack at 4 years old. I understand they have the right to refuse service. However, they should remove hospital out of their name. For Leo. your brother and I are hanging out at the couch. I never seen Milo meow before, now he does and loud looking for you. We both miss you. R.I.P 5-26-2023.

We had a wonderful first experience at Forest Glen Animal Hospital. The staff is friendly, professional, and helpful, and Dr. Whitfield was fantastic. She took the time to really listen to my concerns and discuss treatment options with me. The follow-up was impressive as well - I feel that they are well organized and genuinely care about my pet. I also liked that they were very upfront about costs - the expected care plan and costs were reviewed with the tech before we even saw the doctor. The entire office is extremely clean as well.

Forest Glen Animal Hospital has taken such good care of my rescue dog. The doctors are knowledgeable and kind, and go out of their way to clearly explain the results of your pet’s visit. One vet tech in particular, Lex, has helped us through everything. She was incredibly helpful before, during, and after my dog’s double knee surgery. I had tons of questions, and she explained everything clearly and patiently :). Ask for her as your vet tech and I can assure you your pet will be in the absolute best hands. She is amazing!

I fostered a dog from the Chicago Canine Rescue and decided to adopt Moose. I brought him to his vet visit at Forest Glen and they were friendly, thorough, and professional. They already knew Moose because they help the rescue with all their dogs. I was so impressed I moved my 12 yo shih tzu, Ringo to them. Moose just had a dental cleaning and did really well and Ringo is scheduled soon. I’m glad they were able to accept new admissions. I’ve been looking for a great neighborhood vet. Looks like I found it.

Forest Glen Animal Hospital has the friendliest staff, and they have been so great with my "spicy" rescue. My dog is very sensitive to people touching her body and head and will get aggressive to protect herself. They kept great notes about what worked and didn't with calming her after our first post-adoption visit. Our next annual exam was so smooth and quick - as minimal as possible stress for my dog. They have also been great with explaining everything for this 1st time dog parent. Thank you so much!

We’ve been bringing our pets to FGH for 6 years now. The services are great, friendly staff. But there’s still room for improvement. Take a breather, pause and double check to avoid errors. The girls apologized. Which I appreciate for acknowledging the error themselves. Patients coming in and out and left and right phone calls. I understand that they were really busy that day, our dogs are healthy and took it like a champ. no adverse effects to our furry dogs. I would still bring my dogs to this place.

The veterinarians and staff at forest glen animal hospital are simply put, the BEST. My dog had a serious list of health complications since she was a puppy, and they have taken such good care of her. They are thorough, thoughtful, gentle, and incredible practitioners. They also are so understanding and flexible with schedules; they were able to take me same day and perform a minor surgery when my pet got injured. I trust their expertise and know my dog is always in good hands with Forest Glen.

This was my first time going to Forest Glen animal Hospital and what a wonderful place! The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. We had a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. They were so attentive to our new puppy, and extremely patient and gentle. The facility was extremely clean and comfortable. The examination room was also clean and welcoming. Our puppy was very comfortable there. I am definitely looking forward to having them treat our puppy for a long, long time!

I have been taking my GSP hunter to Forest Glen Animal Hospital since he was 4 months and Hunter is now 6 years old. Hunter loves going! Their staff are all very friendly and professional super caring. I recently took hunter for a small lump he had in his back they did an amazing job removing the lump, and after a few days I received a call from one of their vet techs wondering how hunter was doing. I will definitely keep taking hunter to Forest Glean Animal Hospital. Highly recommend!

The care at this facility has changed over the years from great to disorganized. Revolving door of support staff. Lost our beloved pug in February after a dental procedure where he was sent home without any after care medication including antibiotics. Listened to vet techs that said he didn't need any antibiotics. The dog bled for three days until he died laying right next to me. Never again. Changed vets for my two other pets - a dog and a cat and am very happy with new provider.

I have been going to Forest Glen for the past 16 years. This, my most current visit yesterday was everything that I could have wanted and more. The staff and Dr. were responsive to an immediate care situation. Dr. Behnke is caring compassionate and thorough in explaining exactly the what and why each step of the exam, Diagnosis and treatment. I'm fortunate that my fur babies have such a Great place to go for their health and well being.

Two times now, my crazy cat has injured herself and both times Forest Glen Animal Hospital went out of their way to fit her in with very little notice. They provide quality care, clear communication, and every single person I've talked to there, from technician to doctor, is kind, compassionate, and patient. Believe it or not, my cat LOVES going to the vet - as long as the vet is Forest Glen Animal Hospital. Thank you for your work!

The staff here are great, best animal hospital ever! Kind, responsive and helpful. Everyone I have spoken with has gone above and beyond to help my two dogs Grae and Dunkel. With compassionate phone calls and amazing in person care. I feel comfortable calling them whenever I have an issue because I know they will respond as soon as they can. Let’s be real, if you’re a good pet parent you need an animal hospital like Forest Glen!

My dog Bridie was treated like a family member from the moment she walked in the door to the minute she got back into the car. She was escorted out so she could "donate" some urine for her senior health exam. I received a call the next day from the doctor to discuss her lab results and ask any questions I might have. I am so thrilled with the care my senior dog receives from Forest Glen Animal Hospital!

Was told one price before the appointment and charged $50 extra for a test that the tech didn’t ask my permission for before performing, so I assumed it was included. After bringing it to the front desk’s attention that the test was given to my cat without the vet tech asking my permission, the only solution they offered was to put it in my chart to go over every single charge with me every time.

My daughter uses Forest Glen. While her and her family were vacationing their cat Dash was found by her neighbor and had unfortunately passed away. They were of course stunned. The staff came over and wrapped him up lovingly and carried him to the car and proceeded with cremation. I have never heard of something so compassionate.... EVER. I just have to say thank you so much. RIP Dashey Boy.

Despite our concerns - as several of the vets, including our former 'go to' one, Dr Golden have been leaving this practise, my dog and I had a very good follow-up visit to an ER one (on 7/31). This, on 8/8/23, with Vet Nicole Barichello, who took the time to listen and answer all my concerns and questions. Also the vet tech and reception staff were very friendly and did make us feel good.

I ABSOLUTELY Love This Vet For My Young Pup. It’s extremely difficult to find people who you trust with everything to care of your pets needs properly , This is that place! Dr. Ferguson Is The BEST VET Ever !! She is always so calming, super informative, and very knowledgeable. I’m always in a better place knowing my dog will be handled with her care. I love Forest Glen Animal Hospital! I brought my kitty Gracie in to have her spayed, and Dr. Behnke did an amazing job with my Gracie. Shannon, her technician that day, is awesome too. The hospital is very clean and everyone there really enjoys working with animals. This is the place to bring your pet if you're looking for quality care for your fur baby's. ❤

My dog had an eye injury during the night. I called around 7am and left a voicemail. They promptly got back to me at 7:45 before they opened and scheduled me for 9:30am. Wait time was short and everyone was WONDERFUL to me and my pup. We were in and out in 25 minutes with the best care. Definitely coming back here as it’s close to my house and they were all fantastic.

Always take my 2 dogs there very friendly people they are awesome with animals it shows the love for them. I brought my dog for his skin allergies and let me tell you they treated my dog like a king many treats lots of love. I would highly recommend this place. Price is reasonable they work with you on your budget. Love this place love the staff. My dog is bammbamm

Yesterday was our fist visit to Forest Glen Animal Hospital. The staff couldn’t have been more professional. Everyone was friendly and showed our dogs Po and Zeno so much love and attention. They even called the next day to check to see how the dogs were taking to the medication they were prescribed. We are very happy we picked Forest Glen Animal Hospital!

Excellent customer service in ridiculous (Covid) times! The wait in the car while my dog was inside was fine, no biggie. When Dr. Ferguson called to tell me about my dog's visit, she was thorough and offered several options for treatment. I'm looking forward to bringing my dog (and eventually my cats) back to Forest Glen (when needed) in the future!

They are the complete WORST! I brought my cat in as an emergency, he was having breathing issues. My cat died because they denied to take my cat in and instead said “go somewhere else”.. so I had to take my cat to another helpful animal hospital, but unfortunately it was too late. The absolute worse! I would give a 0 if I could, plain and simple!

I've been trusting my pets to Forest Glen Animal Hospital since moving to Chicago in 2012 and have never been disappointed. I've moved within the city and although there were closer vets to my home, I've stuck with Forest Glen. The staff and doctors are friendly, compassionate, and always take the time to explain treatments and answer questions.

I am very happy with the service. The vet called me back immediately after the exam and when the blood work results came in explaining in details what was wrong with my dog. I received a great recommendations on how to take care of my senior pup and if any additional treatment/further tests are needed. I highly recommend this animal hospital.

I called Tuesday morning in regards to my cat, and they scheduled an appointment immediately. We have always taken our pets to Forest Glen Animal Hospital. My parents took our dogs here, and that was back in the 1960’s. Dr. Perry saved our dog King’s life. I would never take my animals anywhere else. I know the staff here is very trustworthy.

I came in today with my cat who was having an asthma attack and they refused to see him because he had never been a patient before. They told me there was nothing they can do and I should try a couple different places “15 minutes” away. When I finally got to one of the locations my cat didn’t make it. Should be ashamed of yourselves.

Great experience with Forest Glen Animal Hospital! My two Labs loved Dr. Whitfield and the rest of the staff, even after one slipped his collar twice. We transferred here from another clinic and have had a great experience and care thus far. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a first time vet or just a new vet.

Our dogs have been coming to Forest Glen for more a long time, but in the last ten years they have really become a place to feel great about bringing pets: great doctors, fantastic staff, extremely safe. I wish we could say that our dogs love coming here—I'm pretty sure no pet loves going to the doctor—but we certainly do!

They are very thorough and caring. My puppy (Senior pup) was very calm with them and I'd never seen her calm with any vet before. They explained everything in details for me. I am very happy with the overall visit from the vet to the assistants. I would highly recommend friends and family to bring their fur babies to them.

I absolutely love Forest Glen Animal Hospital. Every staff member I've interacted with has been super professional, very communicative, and most of all takes super good care of my anxious dog. Their prices for everything are very reasonable, and the vets are always very thorough reading out the results of your pets exam.

First time taking my dog and it was the best experience. He had been going to another vet and he never had an exam like forest glen did. The Dr was very kind. She explained everything to me about the exam. She was very patient and smart. Thestaff was very helpful and kind as well. I’m so happy that I made the change.

We have been going here for years with our former dog and now with our new puppy. We love how thorough the doctors are. We feel like they genuinely care about our dogs and listen carefully to our concerns. They are probably not the cheapest, but you can feel confident that your pet is being given quality care here.

It's close and my dog gets treated well, but there seems to be a really high turnover of vets. After losing my last girl, I decided to find a vet (in 20+ years of pets, they only added to their practice) closer to home. I feel the strain after COVID (yay for the rescues!) but it would be nice to have consistency

They have been excellent in caring for our senior dog and senior cat. They are a little under staffed. But the staff they do have is friendly. Wait times on the phone can be a bit of a hassle. They are very COVID sensitive. Expect to wait in your car and deal with the staff by phone most of the time.

Way over priced! Vet was very defensive over phone. Turns out cat is fine and extra test was not needed, yet of course very costly. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for an experience vet that truly knows how to exam pets. Most likely trained to run extra test to increase revenue.

Brought in 3 cats for shots and some blood work. Very expensive. I'm a senior on a fixed income. 2 of them need dental work and I have already been told it will be expensive. I have 3 more cats that will need to come in shortly. It would be nice if there was some kind of discount for seniors.

We love Forest Glen! They are good listeners, communicators, and handle everything thoroughly and with great care. Our dog loves the staff so much that she gets very impatient as we park. The Docs are great! The Front desk staff is Outstanding and so much care is taken during each visit!

New patient. Just rescued my girl, Mimsy, and brought her in for initial check up. Everyone was so polite, the doc (I forgot her name, sorry!) was super gentle and very kind. Staff followed up the next day to see how she is adjusting in her new home. Would definitely recommend them!

I just switched to Forest Glen after years with another vet. The staff is so nice and accommodating and the Dr took her time to hear all of my concerns, I never felt rushed. Unlike my other vet they discussed all fees upfront before doing the procedure, Much appreciated!

Everyone was so pleasant and attentive to my dogs needs! He isn’t the most well-behaved at the vet and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The vet tech Shannon is very knowledgeable and helped make our experience less stressful. Highly recommended :)

We’re new to the area, and are so happy we chose this place as our new vet. The facility is very nice, and the care they took with our pup was awesome. Natalie at reception was so accommodating and was quick to help with the transfer paperwork from our old vet.

This place is so on it. From the moment they make your appointment over the phone and throughout your visit. The front desk, Dr’s, lab tech’s are all so compassionate and friendly. I love the reminders I get for upcoming appointments. A happy 20 Paw family.

We've moved about 39 minutes away from Forest Glen but I'm still making the drive down anytime my dog needs a regular checkup. The staff is so nice and helpful and they work to make sure my dog is comfortable during the appointments.

It's hard to give a perfect score when love and pain are involved the Dr. Was reasonable I was not . There's no perfect answer for my situation in the end my baby is well and that's all that matters thank you all so much 4 1/2 stars.

We always have great experiences at FGAH. The front desk staff is always warm and inviting. The physicians, especially Dr. Barrichello, are the absolute best! I wish my own doctors had the same bedside manner.

Love the vet's here. Dr Golden is ahhmazing. It took me a while to go back after i put my pug down in Feb 2021. I tried other vet clinics but their prices and service are the best at Forest Glen.

I trust my fur baby in their care. Always clean and SAFE! They really take care to keep parties separated for calmness and health reasons. Very friendly, very professional and very knowledgeable.

The staff is friendly and extremely great with my full of personality mini dachshund. All of my questions are thoroughly answered, and if available, I receive samples that pertain to my visit.

Dr. Gilbert did an amazing and thorough examination today! Our Grace was sick with Bladder stones and she gave us great advice and we're hoping she is feeling better soon. Highly recommend!
