I don't have one single complaint! Our family of 5 (aged 9-60) had the most marvelous time We've ever had! We've been to many zoos over the past several years. San Antonio, the Ohio Columbus zoo, and many, many more. Never before have we seen such a lovely park! All, and I do mean all, of the animals were out to visit. The enclosures were spacious and well-kempt. The animals seemed to have many activities, good nutrition, and room to roam. Viewing points are well placed and glass kept clean for photos. Most viewing areas enable you get very close to the animals. Small children will enjoy it as well, as they can access all of view points! Even the reptile house had a step so smaller children could easily see into the taller tanks. The park itself was sparkling clean. From pathways to bathrooms to restaurants. I didn't see one rogue cup or shred of a wrapper. The ambiance was wonderfully beautiful! Many species of plants line the pathways. There are numerous benches to take a rest. If you're handicap or older, the entire zoo is your playground! Absolutely every single exhibit is handicap accessible! Wheelchairs and electric chairs can be used everywhere. Shade is easy to come by. Light music in the "civilized" areas, such as the Texas Wild area and gift shops, can be heard. The indoor enclosures were air-conditioned. The staff were incredibly friendly, personable and prevalent. They answered every question we had with detail. The food was scrumptious and cheap for such an establishment! Our hungry family of 5 ate a massive meal in the Texas Wild area, of pizza and barbecue. Drinks, meals and desserts came to $70. The gift shops were also very reasonable! We spent about $50 for 2 larger toys and a couple key chains. And let's not forget the actual admission and parking cost! $86 for 5 to enter! To put these prices into perspective, another option for our family was the Dallas aquarium. Which was going to be $200 JUST TO ENTER. It took us 6 hours to see everything but if you're handicapped or just want to take your time like us, we HIGHLY recommend making a day of it! Go for the full 7 hours that the park is open! I could go on and on. The park is hands down the most wonderful zoo that our family has had the pleasure of visiting! 10/10! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WE WILL BE BACK!

I used to absolutely love going here, I've been going every year for almost 30 years and it's always felt magical. The changes and updates are always been so well done and I love seeing the genuine care put into making the animals happier. But this year felt different. The staff was the most rude I've ever experienced. They are snappy, disrespectful, and there a disturbing amount of swearing and badmouthing not only their employees, but customers. I hearing multiple racial slurs being used by various staff. My 5yo son accidentally leaned on door that painted to look like a wall, and a women flung the door open, almost him and yelled at him. I'm very disappointed. The quality of food has gone down and the price is continuing to rise. The exception to all of this was the fudge shop. They staff was a joy and so kind, and the food their was the best I've had anywhere. I feel like there was been a lot of talk to having major improvements to the big cat area and I felt rather disappointed into comparison to the change the African area received. The lions had a major upgrade but that seems to be the main change. The tigers weren't updated at all from what I could tell. My entire family was very disappointed to see they are removing/ renovating the cave as it was one of our favorite areas. It sample pictures look so lifeless and boring. My daughter was devastated to see you could no longer feed birds in the apiary, I was not aware it was being removed and I'm not sure if the reason it was removed. I feel like most of the interactive experiences are being removed more and more. The other positive change I've seen was the Texas nature traders. The man there was wonderful, fun to talk with, and very informative. I'm hoping to see this expand to a place outside of the zoo and more easily accessible. We would be daily visitors and donators.

The Fort Worth Zoo is one of my favorite outdoor places to visit in DFW! The hubby and I went recently for a day date and were pleased to see even more investment and expansion. The lions, tigers etc are getting an all new enclosure with more space to occupy! Always clean, plenty of snack, drinks and places to rest. I love how they’ve built into a “hilly” area and planted tons of shrubs and trees to feel like you are surrounded by nature. The exhibits are top notch and we love the animal interaction opportunities. Take advantage of the opportunity to touch a snake or dip your hand into the water at the Texas river exhibit to experience starfish and more! The primate exhibit is our favorite along with the underwater hippo viewing area. Purchase some lettuce to feed the giraffes Parking is usually crowded, but they’ve hired attendants and have police directing traffic for efficiency. Host a private event at their center with private animal encounters! A zoo wedding would be precious. I’ve been frequenting FTW zoo since the early 1990s and have watched this place transform into the staple outdoor activity in our community that it is now.
I just visited the Fort Worth Zoo for the second time in a year, this time for the Elephant Managers Association’s annual conference which they hosted. It’s a three hour drive (one way) from my home but always worth the time. I have visited a lot of zoos across the country and Fort Worth is by far my favorite. The staff was incredible hospitable for our conference visit but as we toured the zoo on our own, nothing lacks. Available throughout is lots of shade, seating and amenities. The layout and landscaping of the zoo is magical and immersive, feeling as if you are traveling through parts unknown as you view each exhibit. The new Predators area was now open - wow. Absolutely beautiful (with a state-of-the-art backstage holding and management area which we revived a special tour). I absolutely love the Fort Worth Zoo. Your trip will be worth it from however far you decide to travel.
2023 review - Beautiful late September afternoon ,Weather was great on our visit. It's been a long time since we have visited the Fort Worth Zoo . It has changed so much. Absolutely love the new safari enclosure that was my favorite one. Animals have so much room to roam free. The giraffes come so close to you , you can get some amazing photos. New lion inclosure was another nice one. So many new areas for the animals to roam freely, they look very happy and healthy. Most definitely coming back sooner this time.......My old review- Best Zoo ***** I would give it 100 stars if I could .Prices are great ...get a souvenir drink bottle and refills are only 1$ good deal.Animals where all out today zoo keeper where interacting with the animals very cool.We got to pet about 10 differnt species . Enjoyed my mothers day out here .Thank You Fort Worth Zoo
Visited on a Monday during spring break, I was expecting it to be extremely packed and I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn’t nearly as crowded as I anticipated. Was really excited to see the new additions including the flamingos, baby gorilla, giraffe, and elephant. We got to see many of the animals around feeding time (late afternoon) and got to see some awesome interactions. The ground were very clean and maintained. Was a little disappointed how much of the zoo is under construction (zebras, tiger, lions missing) but hopefully will be back soon! Overall great visit! Reasonable pricing too. Would recommend a visit to the zoo!

Was an amazing experience at the Fort Worth Zoo! Went with my mom and my sister and we had so much fun. There's lots to explore and so much to see even though some of the exhibits were closed due to expanding some of the habitats. We went on a Saturday during nice weather and it was crowded. We rode the train and went to the Stingray area. Saw all the animals that were out and all three of us enjoyed the experience. We will be going back when the other animals are back and would recommend you go enjoy the experience. Before we left we all got cute animal plushies and a back for them to commemorate our time we spent there at the zoo.

Fort Worth Zoo, was very nice. They had a lot of great animals that were fairly active in the morning. The exhibits gave multiple angles of most of the animals and was pretty relaxing. Pathways are smooth and big enough to support light traffic. Tickets can be bought on site or online. Parking is 5$ the lot seems adequate. Went on a Sunday morning was a little busy but not too crazy. Takes about 2-3 hours to see the zoo but you could spend more time if you wanted too. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if your in the area.

I went today as soon as it opened, the heat is not much of a factor if you go early. Also, there are trees all over the zoo which provide shade. There are also some sections with misters. Furthermore, the penguin habitat is like a giant freezer so that's a nice spot to cool down as well. Overall, the Zoo was an inexpensive experience. It was worth it to see all the animals they have which is a lot. Keep in mind, if you go during midday where the heat is extreme, then the animals might be hiding in the shade not doing much. Despite the triple digit heat today, I still felt like I saw enough.

I visited for the first time in April on a weekend - it was my first time visiting a zoo in nearly a decade. Prices were fair - $5 parking and $17 per ticket if purchased online. The weather was perfect in Texas and the crowd was quite large, too. The grounds and restrooms are well kept. Kudos to the staff. Majority of the animals were active. There are numerous exhibits to visit and enjoy. It was a great experience overall and took us about 2-3 hours to explore.

Came here on a Saturday and the parking lot was pretty full. By the way, parking is $5 and they are open from 10am to 4pm. When I got inside, it was less crowded than I thought it would be. They charge $18 dollars for adults (13+), $14 for children (3-12), $14 for seniors (65+), and toddlers get in for free! This is probably one of the larger zoos I’ve been to. There are big cats, amphibians, fish, birds, and more!

Great experience at the Fort Worth Zoo. Parking is $5. Adult ticket was $18. I didn’t buy any food or drink but the prices seemed reasonable. I went on a Saturday afternoon. Not too crowded. I attended the 2 pm speaker exhibit with Thomas at the Gharial Crocodile. He was informative and answered all my questions. Overall, very good experience. Bring comfortable shoes for all the walking you’ll be doing.

I loved it! All the exhibits were great! When construction is finished it will look so amazing! It has changed so much since I was a kid...so many baby animals and everything! I highly suggest going here. EDIT: The lions are are back and so are the rest of the predators and I kid you not i became a child again! It was so amazing and I was so happy. It looks beautiful and it is a whole new experience!

Edited 11/12/23 to add new photos and say that the new predator habitats are spectacular! Beautiful, spacious, and you can get so close to the animals. The baby gorilla really stole the show with his dance moves today though! Wish I had gotten a good video. Original: Absolutely stunning every time. I love how interactive this zoo is. Highly recommend checking out the elephant training sessions!

Definitely a good zoo. You can tell they take better care of their animals than most. The layout of the enclosures is a bit odd, not that it affects much. Parking is fine even when busy as long as you're willing to walk. The business also can be enough to affect your experience here, but it's not a deal breaker, as the walkways are large enough to comfortably accommodate a large number of people.

The Mola was a great experience for kids of all ages even the full grown ones. Gardens are beautiful and cages throughout the zoo were clean and well kept. Pity about the elephants not in the inclosure and about the predators not ready to be seen in the new enclosure. Kids were really disappointed. Train was a big hit. Well kept with easy wheelchair or pushcart access. Can recommend

This is definitely a good sized zoo so be prepared for minimum 2 hours here. We took 2 and half hrs here but was great so many animals to see we did the giraffe feeding and it was fun. We went on a cloudy day so the animals were there hanging out. Plenty of restrooms areas, benches for a quick drink/snack break. We enjoyed our time here highly recommend

I love the zoo because it's a way to connect with nature my visit was enjoyable but the lions and tigers as well as some other animals were bit available I would call ahead to see what all is open and the bees were absolutely terrible we could not eat without them landing on us and on food and drinks don't if it's anything they can do about it but I'm afraid of bees so this was a bit uncomfortable other than that I would still visit again when everything is reopen
Well worth it. The price of admission is very reasonable and I saw so many animals. The enclosures mostly felt like they were great sizes. Was a little confusing to navigate at first, I went straight to Texas area but should have done the other path first as it meant I ended up doubling back and then back again later. They are sponsored by Dr Pepper so if you like drinks made by Coca Cola bring your own

Always impressed with the cleanliness and habitat presentation here at the Fort Worth Zoo. The cool weather has all the animals out and and active, enhancing the experience. Plenty of ramps to keep all areas accessible. Bathrooms well located for convenience. Several snack and small eateries to get you through the experience. Can’t wait to come back when the construction is completed on the back row. Looks like it will be amazing. Train is always popular.
A wonderful zoo with a lot of terrific exhibits and plenty of shade, restrooms, places to eat, and very easy parking. The African Savanna and Asian elephants are highlights, along with the Texas wildlife area (although new better accommodations are definitely needed for the jaguar, mountain lion, and bobcat). There is a very large new exhibit under construction for the lions and tigers and cheetahs. You could easily spend 4 hours or more, as you like.
Autumn is a wonderful time of year to come to this place! It was nice and cool and the animals seem to be having a great time as well. We thought you guys would like these photos! Everyone turned out so beautiful. This is an awesome zoo and I would definitely come here again. The staff is also very nice so thank you for everything.

We love the Fort Worth Zoo. It has a great sampling of beautiful animal species of all types. We love the big cats who just recently received a new habitat. There are plenty of exhibits specific to Texas and interactive play area for children. We will continue to support this zoo as members. A great family spot to visit.

We went on Wednesday because it was half off admission. It wasn’t overcrowded, a lot of little gift shop themed to the animal you got to see, a lot of open area where you can see them up close, multiple locations of restrooms and different varies of animals to see. I wasn’t fond of the birds or the reptiles as it was in an enclosed area and it was very hot and humid in the area
Absolutely incredible - took almost 4 hours to see everything. Easy to navigate, and amazing educational opportunities. Animals have lots if space to roam around and live comfortably. Worth the price of admission. Highly recommend if visiting Fort Worth!

The zoo was pretty cool. There were plenty shaded areas, a decent amount of animals to see but I especially enjoyed how close the giraffes came (to be fed, at cost) they also do activity / education at certain times which are posted by the animals, usually in front. I also recommend getting a map because you are sure to miss animals if you don’t.
There's a lot of beauty and a lot to last about mammals, birds, aquatic life, and more. The wild West section is so fun. I loved the flamingos who are there to greet you at the entrance. Ibex are fun to watch scale mountains. Giraffe, leopard, rhino, ostrich, elephant. There are a couple of spots to enjoy air condition and eat. More
It's been a few years since we've gone to the zoo. Oh my goodness, the renovations are amazing! Everywhere we went was shaded and the animals had a large water feature for them to play in. These changes made our zoo trip enjoyable even on a triple digit day in the Texas heat. Well done and thank you for a great experience today.
This has to be the most themed zoo I've ever been too. Really beautiful with waterfalls everywhere. Even some misting stations to help with that Texas heat. My favorite exhibit was probably the giraffe one. For $5 you get to feed them. I didn't see any live shows or an aquarium but still one of my top 5 zoo's I've been to.
Honestly one of the best places that I have been, they didn't have the predators do to some construction but they have made up for it by being the most kid friendly zoo. Definitely 5 star when they bring back the rest of the animals.

Broad range of animals from Savannah to Texas natives. Great little kids play area up at the Texas section. Good amphibian and reptile house, kids enjoyed playing spot the snake or frog. Food on offer was basic but good places to enjoy your own picnic if you packed one. Little train ride was also popular with the kids.

Great experience here at the zoo. Was a bit crowded due to half Price Wednesday but still overall a good day. Was able to see the baby elephant, Brazos, and plenty of birds, alligators and snakes. We will be back for sure, but will probably wait until the construction on the Africa section is done. More
we spent a good 3 hours here to see all the animals and exhibits. We didn't get to see the big cats like tigers or lion because their exhibit was closed down from construction. It looks like they will be finished in December 2022. So much has changed since we were here as kids. It was a great time!
It was kind of expensive for a lot of the habitats to be shut down. But even with a few shut down, there was plenty to see. Took my daughter there and she had a great time. Would advise you eat before you go though. Not too many options for food and what they do offer is 4 times it's normal price.
This zoo was amazing! It had all the animals you would want to see. The best part is feeding the giraffes. Coolest experience hands down. There was plenty of shade and even misters. We went in the morning when the animals are most likely out. One of the best zoos we have ever visited.
We absolutely love this zoo. They've done some amazing work the last year or two and really added to guest enjoyment! The new elephant enclosure is gorgeous, and we highly recommend doing the elephant encounter, it's so cool. We've been going for years and we always love it!
Love the time at the zoo. I am retired and got a annual pass so get to go spend time with the animals. I am excited about the new safari exhibit coming this month.

My family has had season passes here each year because we love to walk the grounds. The new exhibits that have opened over the past few years have been amazing! From the Savanna to the new Predators exhibit, they are very well done. My son

So for a zoo where it is so hot this place has it figured out. Plenty of trees and areas to get out of the sun (indoor exhibits) and the lay out flows for the most part. Looks like they at this time are under construction and are planning
