BEWARE. I purchased a BMW X5 from Freeman Motor in February 2021. I bought this vehicle from Freeman based on Freeman's good reputation in the community, and naively, on their integrity. The day after I purchased the X5 the check engine light appeared. I immediately notified Freeman and they asked me to bring the car in to Freeman's service shop. After an investigation of the vehicle, Freeman's service shop told me that nothing was wrong with the vehicle, the check engine light was just a one-one time random occurrence and that they had cleared the fault. I am a busy professional, single parent with three young children who has little time and relies on my car to keep my family and my career moving. I took Freeman's word that there was indeed nothing wrong with the car. My trust in Freeman was admittedly my fault. About 3 months after the purchase, the vehicle began experiencing problems-- the check engine light again reappeared. I took the vehicle in to Portland BMW and was told that something to do with the oil filter had failed. This repair began the money bleed of out-of-pocket repairs needed for this car over the next three years: the suspension went out ($3,000); two months after purchase from Freeman a new set of tires was needed ($2,500), the breaks were shot and needed to be replaced ($1,500) and the battery was gone ($1,000); then, the rear view mirror actually fell off the windshield that I was not told had been repaired after market before my purchase ($3,000 because of the technology in the heads up display); replace of oil feed tube line when the car started emitting black smoke on ignition ($3,500); and finally the real kicker - I was told by BMW Salem and BMW Portland that an $18,000 transmission was needed to make the car operable. This purchase from Freeman was one of the biggest financial mistakes I have made in my life. I do not like writing negative reviews since I am a small business owner and understand that mistakes happen. However, this purchase cost me and my family thousands of dollars that could have been used for family vacations, etc. Please use caution and investigate any car you are considering from Freeman in extreme detail.

Just today I had a very disappointing experience at Freeman Motors. I had setup a time via phone call and text to look at a vehicle with a salesperson named Austin. I informed my father and he was going to meet me at the dealership. Once we arrive we enter the building and see the white X3 M40i I was there to look at and it is being backed into the open carport. I presumed that it was so that we could look at it. A young man gets out of the car and I ask if his name is Austin and he says yes and we do introductions. He then says he’ll be right with us and that he needs to put a for sale sign on the car he just got out of.. I was dumbfounded. I know cars sell quickly and what not but he could have easily texted or called me to let me know that the car had sold. I dragged my dad all the way out there and it was for nothing. He then offered to show me another X3 m40i with 2 reported accidents and scratches all over the hood. Needless to say I am highly disappointed and will spread the word that this is a terrible place to shop for cars and the customer service is lacking. I was fully prepared to purchase a vehicle from Freeman Motors but I can confidently say I’m glad I didn’t. This was a huge waste of my time. Staff needs some sales training. What they’re doing is a not a good look for a high end car dealership.

I purchased a car with this Dealer but I couldn’t see the car in person because I live in Florida. I trust them and they lied to me pretty badly. I asked for pictures of the car and asked for scratches or other problems that the car could have, and they sent me a picture of 2 little scratches. I bought the car and when it arrived it was insane!! The car had huge scratches from side to side of the car, holes in the leather seats, holes in the plastic that covers some of the side lights….I couldn’t believe that they got advantage of the situation and lie to me to be able to sell the car. Also the car was not clean with stains in the ceiling, the seat belts completely full of dirt that I can’t take it of, the car mats are missing … I paid in cash so nobody cares anymore because they have all my money and I had to end with a car full of scratches and problems that they didn’t tell me. Don’t buy to this dealer, they are not honest. I’m sure that my car is going to have mechanic problems as well.

It hurts me to have to write a less than favorable review but I feel I owe it to those that read these before making a purchase unlike me for this particular purchase. First word of warning is do not purchase a car on line from here without seeing and driving it first. Definitely get it inspected by a professional independent service shop and pay whatever you have to so you make sure you get what you’re paying for. The website states they are inspected and serviced but trust me they are not. I took a leap of faith based on what the salesman told me and their pumped up statement on the website. I could go on for a bit longer but I won’t. I would love it if the owner would call me and I could give whoever that is a complete description of what occurred. Look me up owner and give me a call I promise it will be a friendly conversation.

I was there to transport a car for a close friend of mine. When I entered the building nobody greeted or asked if I needed assistance, the whole time it was a lady in the front office having a personal conversation on the phone. Eventually I found someone to help me. I found the staff to be very dismissive & condescending when addressing me. I kept it very professional as I am the owner of my trucking company, however my friend whom was purchasing the vehicle was on the phone while I was talking to the salesman & she confirmed my thoughts. Initially I figured this was how their company treated "blue collar" workers since its very obvious that they cater to the upper class. Nonetheless, I would never spend my money with this company. If you are providing a service, I think you should treat everyone with respect.

My son found a car online that he was interested in at Freeman Motor, so we went out to look. The car was exactly as posted and the employees were the nicest I’ve met at any car dealership. They were not pushy at all; in fact, we wanted to look at another car before we made a decision and they were completely supportive of that. We did come back the next day and purchase the car from Freeman Motor. The process was easy and again, the staff were just so nice and so accommodating. They have a beautiful indoor showroom with very nice, high-end cars that all appeared to be in great shape and fairly priced. I definitely recommend Freeman Motor and would purchase from them again.

We can’t thank Jason Copeland and the team at Freeman Motors enough for their help in the purchase of our new Mercedes. We live several hundred miles away but had heard such wonderful things about their dealership we knew we wanted to work with them. Winter weather and busy schedules prevented us from making the trip to Portland so Jason made a video walk-through of the vehicle so we knew exactly what we were getting. After purchase it was shipped to our front door within two days. The car is perfect, everything he said it was and then some. They really go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction, it was a great experience.

I never have purchased a car sight unseen until recently. Freeman Co. advertised a beautiful 2012 XC60. Had a third party check it out. Salesman David was honest in his appraisal of the condition of the car. We had it shipped about 600 miles. And now we are enjoying a low miles, fairly priced and almost immaculate car. A few small nicks in the front as is normal. We would not hesitate to refer or recommend Freeman Motor Co. We would shop here again. Anyone that answers the phone there are undoubtedly helpful. I suspect that we will get to enjoy this car for years to come. Thanks David!

I had an excellent buying experience with Freeman. I drove up to Portland from southern Oregon a little late in the day on a Friday, about a 4 hour drive. They had a very fair deal on a Porsche Macan S and I was trading in a car so I expected to be there a while. When I arrived they had the Macan pulled up and ready to go in the showroom. Got a fair trade-in amount, the car was in great condition, and all the paperwork was done in a very timely fashion. My salesman Alex was great, the whole thing couldn't have gone better. Heard great things from people about Freeman. Our experience is different, they acted super friendly and welcoming so we bought a car from them. We noticed a broken piece in the car we didn’t see before so I decided to call them and just ask about it, nothing wrong with asking and they acted like we were pieces of garbage and were rude about the whole thing. Second issue is their mechanics are clowns. Went to change the oil and the plug and filter were torqued down WAY beyond spec. Needless to say we will never get service done by them or buy another car from them.

Just bought my wife a 2020 E350 and couldn’t be happier. Austin was fantastic, and let us make a decision without the pressure I’ve usually felt at dealerships. But, maybe most importantly, I noticed that two of the tires needed to be replaced after I left the lot, and Freeman has been actually helpful. My usual experience is that I’m not longer a priority once I’ve signed the paperwork and left the lot, and it makes it a lot easier to walk and get excited to buy a car knowing that no one is trying to hide the ball. Awesome experience!

Dalton at Freeman Motor Co in Portland had a very calm, friendly demeanor which we were drawn to. He was very knowledgeable about all the cars available at the dealership, and was genuinely interested in helping us with our goals. He kept me informed of the process and even delivered my car to me personally. Such great service and will be coming back! I had a great experience purchasing my Audi SQ5 from Freeman Motors. When I was searching for an SQ5, I saw that Freeman Motors in Salem had one in inventory. Their used car buyer is very particular, reputation actually matters to them, you can prob save a few thousand dollars somewhere else but is the risk worth it when dealing with used, European luxury vehicles? Its not. Pay a little extra for the best used cars and the excellent service at Freeman.
