Wonderful display of military planes and memorabilia throughout history. Loved the time I spent there. If you’re a military history fan, I highly recommend visiting the museum. You will need at least 2 hours to walk through and view the exhibits and all there is to see. You will discover to be history of Southwest Airlines since the museum is next to Dallas Love Field Airport. Have fun sitting on 2 Southwest Aircraft. The Spirit of Kitty Hawk ( which was taken out of the fleet in 2011) and a nose model of another southwest jet aircraft. You will read and witness replicas of the company uniforms and how they evolved since the 1960s and a simulated desk agent gate likened to most major airport terminals. On the other side of the first floor you will see replicas of the Apollo 11, fighter jets from the US Air Force and Navy, history of the Wright Brothers, The Hindenburg, and so much more. Upstairs on the 2nd floor is the history of The International Braniff Airlines which according to all I saw had large expansion ambitions, but grew too fast and fiseled out too early. Make sure you stop by the gift shop before you leave where they have a plethora of toys of aircraft, airlines toys and space toys and much more. The play area is also fun for young children.

Like many others I stopped here to waste time close to the airport before a flight. It was an amazing last stop before flying home, a great little addition to a trip. there is a history of southwest airlines in one wing, where you can go inside two airplanes and see the cockpits and the partially clean out 737. the other wing starts with the history of flight, and goes thru several wars and changes, there is a small area for space flight and upstairs they have a fantastic view of Dallas love and you r able to hear parts of air traffic controls conversation with a magnificent view of several of the runways. If you are a flight or airplane fan i would highly recommend making time to stop here. I spent about 1 hour here but I was alone and easily able to move around. If you have more people or a specific interest you could easily spend hours here. The gift shop was spacious but not full of items, had many choices for toys, very kid friendly. when i asked if they carried certain collectible items I was very quickly helped, but explained they don't carry many items like that.

The Frontiers of Flight Museum is such an interesting find for my little one who loves airplanes. He screeches and alerts everyone that a plane is near anytime he hears one flying over us. Their parking lot is a few hundred feet from where planes are taking off and landing, which gave him plenty to see and do before even entering. On the east and west side of the building there are parked planes perfect for photos, also on the west side of the building are tables for lunch. Adult tickets are $12 and kids three and under are free. Inside there are model planes, full size planes from different eras to NASA landing pods. There is also a large play area for kids with a plane that has a slide on the back, air traffic tower, and a theater with Elmo speaking to a NASA astronaut. The Southwest airline area of the building contains lots of memorabilia and a fullsize plane with more memorabilia. Overall, I think we will be returning and checking out more of the museum. I do wish there was somewhere to grab a snack or a drink while Exhibits 4/5 Staff 5/5 Parking 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5

I've been here a couple of times in the past year in association with Guadalupe Radio Network's annual Summer Speaker Series. The museum is loaded with world-class visuals consisting of air and space flight memorabilia and informational displays going all the way back to the Wright brothers. Vintage military and civilian aircraft from all flight eras are parked inside and outside and even suspended by cables from the ceiling indoors. They even have the Apollo 8 Command Module inside! A large stage and audience seating space are available for public presentations, so this is an excellent venue for speaking engagements and other events up to several hundred people. This museum is perfect for such occasions because there is much to see before and after any event in the form of the many and various exhibits. It's an experience you will never forget, and one visit is not enough! Photography is allowed and if you are at all a fan of aircraft, you will not be disappointed by the rare originals on display here. I look forward to our next event there in July 2024.

Wonderful museum with knowledgeable people all around. The museum itself is great, though some of it's technology wasn't working. For example, some of the simulations on screens didn't work. Text heavy! However, I don't mind standing around reading, which is why I'm rating it 5 stars. With its planes and lots of room, I don't see kids getting bored, especially when there's a play area specifically for them. I didn't get to explore that area because it's only for children and their families. The price is great and the gift shop is wonderful! Restrooms are well maintained and clean. If you're a history buff for WWI and WW2, national and international flight history as well as local history, I recommend this museum. I will certainly be going back!

I've been to a reasonable number of air museums, and this one is my favorite so far. My husband, who is an aviation nerd and is not easily impressed by air museums, also enjoyed it. The museum is small enough that you can see everything in a few hours (even taking your time), the signage is good, and unlike a lot of museums that have the aircraft roped off, you can walk right up to most of them. They had some unique aircraft that you can't find many (or any) other places, such as the Flying Pancake, the Learfam, and the Regulus II. The non-aircraft exhibits were well done; my personal favorite was a collection of zeppelin themed kitchen objects that included a chocolate mold.

One of my favorite aircraft museums. Staff are incredibly friendly and I even got the chance to speak with one for over an hour at the display case with over 200 models. My friends and I had a aircraft naming competition as well which was fun. As for the exhibits themselves, I really liked the 737, The engine rooms where a staff member helped me understand how many different types of engines worked and a T-38 trainer which my grandfather trained air force pilots in. It's also a great spot for plane spotting Love Field, although not much activity was going on the day I went. I found the SR-71 engine model incredibly fascinating. A must see if you are in the Dallas area.

Excellent aviation museum focusing on Dallas. The exhibit on the history of Southwest Airlines is informative and relevant given the proximity to the Southwest hub at Love Field. The few actual aircraft are impressive. The hidden gem is the amount of models there. As you walk in there is a model workshop where you can watch as models get built and serviced. The museum goes through the history of aviation, from Wright Brothers to now. It's also home of the Apollo 7 command module. A lovely way to spend an afternoon. 10/10 will visit again

Great museum had a real fun time. There are some problems with the kid area though. It’s over near a few exhibits and the screaming brats make it so you have to practically yell at each other when your by the SR-71 trainer. Gave me a headache. The main room is great, quiet and peaceful. Might want to move the trainers over there. Amazing exhibits on early flight. The case with the Hindenburg exhibit was mind blowing!!! Highly recommended.

Took a last-minute road trip with my son before school started, this museum was so worth the 5-hour drive. Great section right after entering the museum which is dedicated to the Apollo program which was great for my space obsessed son! He loved getting to see inside the Apollo 7 CM and was in awe of seeing the SPS engine used on the CSM. Really cool to see so many aircraft, and so much history, up close. Staff was friendly.

The family had a great time. It's not huge, but has enough within to warrant a 2-3 hour trip. Surprising me, it also had a sizeable kids' play zone within it, such that maybe 1 parent hangs with the kids while the other gets to read and see the various exhibits on display. Airplanes everywhere, of course, but there's also a surprising amount of aviation-related stuff to see. Hindenburg stuff, for example!

Amazing museum! I attended this on a field trip with a school and other parents. We all had a blast. The kids were excited to see the displays. They have a small play area for younger kids to enjoy as well. No food on site so bring a sack lunch, but there is fast food nearby. There is a souvenir shop as well. It is filled with all sorts of things from model planes and spaceships to astronaut food.

I visited this museum my baby love to see the airplanes. There were many different type of planes like passenger, fighter, helicopters and the ancient one. The facility is very small not much to do. This activity will take hardly 1:30 to 2 hrs. Gift shop prices are very good but variety of gifts are limited. Adult entry price $12 Kids $7 Behind the facility like from parking you can see the Love Field Airport❣️ My baby was so excited to see so many planed take off and landing. ✈️

This concert was so beautiful and intimate! The musicians were amazingly talented. I was mesmerized by the setting and the candles and the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this event for a romantic date night or even a night out with the girls to dress up and enjoy all the find vibes that this event has to offer. I will definitely be attending another one for sure.

Hidden gem of a museum in Dallas. Very impressed with the aerospace and aviation history, and it's a place that all, from kids to adults, should visit. It was so cool to learn about how Southwest Airlines started. The history of flight in military and commercial were very interesting. While not a huge museum, I would at least reserve two hours to see everything.

Stopped in here right before our flight at Love field airport. So glad we did! The attendee on duty said most people spend about an hour and a half to 2 hours there but we didn’t have that kind of time so we spent what we could which was about 30 minutes. Could have been there the full suggested time though! Very cool museum and the volunteers on duty were SO informative, we could have talked to them for an hour easy.

  • Hunter James

Love this place!!! I am a huge fan of aviation and there is much to know about the history of Love Field. In addition, you get to see static displays of military planes and museum pieces of different eras. Plan to spend 2.5 hours at least. Admission is not very much and worth the price to visit.

Very diverse museum that really does cover all of flight including balloons, military, commercial, space, and more. It was almost a little too diverse but did manage to cover a great deal. The 737 sticking it's nose into the building was kind of unique. Lots for both adults and kids.

What a fun and interesting little gem!! Not huge by any stretch, but the perfect size for families with small kids because it's not overwhelming. Had some really great items, including articles from the Hindenburg as well as a moon rock. The staff were all super nice and very informative. And there is a huge play area indoors for the kids. Overall, it's just a great way to spend an afternoon.

Great museum and overall experience. Quite educational but I wish there was some guide or audio tour also available. We haven’t seen that option. Maybe because we came on the back to school day and there were lots of kids, live music, some swag stations, etc. It was hard to make it to all the stations and pay attention. We liked that you can see lots of things up close!

Awesome place to go to experience how airplanes have shaped America's history over time. Great museum! There's a great variety of aircraft and exhibits throughout, and all in great shape! I'm amazed at what aircraft they have on display! Obviously well taken care of and fantastic staff. Would love to see more in the gift shop, but I appreciate their selection of art prints and book available to purchase!

Low-key museum spot where you can learn about the history of airplanes, their evolution throughout last century and their roles during different wars. $10 for admission, able to see the entire place in couple hours. Not the biggest museum here, but they just focus on their niche market of airplanes aficionado.
