As far as museums go, this was an amazing location to visit for my husbands 25th birthday. We both had an amazing time, all of the sculptures were so beautiful and the women at the front desk were truly such kind and outgoing people. My husband and I had gone to the downstairs viewing area and were just enjoying the art, standing a good 5 feet away from each piece and keeping our hands folded and down to ensure that the security guard in the room would feel no worry while we were there. Well, we had come to the last sculpture in the room when we were screamed at by the security guard in the room that we were not allowed to touch the artwork. Considering that there are about 30 signs we had seen saying the same thing as we walked around the room before we stopped at this sculpture, my husband replied that he was sorry, but we had not even come close to the piece. This security guard then proceeded to tell us that she had witnessed us herself touch the sculpture and that the cameras had caught us doing so. Feeling as though we were being singled out, I quickly said “We apologize and we will move on.” Again the security guard began to argue that she had seen us touch the piece. With that being said, it was truly disheartening to feel singled out in that way when we were simply trying to enjoy the exhibit. I understand that this association must prevent people ruining art by touching it, but to be singled out and yelled at across the room for something we had not even done is absurd. Naturally, we both left after this event as it made us feel completely unwelcome in the building, labeling us liars and blaming us for a thing we had not done. This truly impacted my view on this exhibit and the values that they hold close to heart.

Your mileage may vary! I think my group wasn't into the modern sculpture...the displays were sparse and unmarked. You can download an app and get a tour but it wouldn't hurt to have some plaques available for non-smartphone users. The gardens looked nice but were roped off for wedding prep that was happening while there were visitors which considerly marred the experience since you couldn't see the sculptures closely and music was blasting. If a private event is going on that disrupts the visiting experience so much I think tickets should be discounted. $10/person felt steep for a short and dissatisfying experience. You can go to the next door DMA and spend all day there instead.

What a beautiful place Nasher Sculpture Center is. My friend and I had brunch down the street and decided to stroll through since he had never been before. The exhibit inside was really unique and very diverse. At 3:30 they did an instrumental with the metal art components, that was really cool! There was a room that had an exhibit of sound that you definitely have to check out. It was a really dark room with focused lighting that tracks your movements makes a certain chord and melody. We definitely had a good time in there experimenting with the music. The outdoor garden is just exquisite. Beautiful pieces throughout the lawn, even a Picasso! They had several water features with a really relaxing soundscaping. It was a beautiful day and certainly a perfect into a relaxing Easter day. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tranquility shattered by a hoard of school children, their weary educationalists appeared drained and drawn as they shepherded their pupils amongst the works. The sound was like the evening chatter of a tree full of Grackles, inane, non germane. One hopes amongst the rabble a spark, however dim, may be lit. A fragment of reality absorbed in the absurd imaginary screen world occupied by our youth. This hope, a point of reflection in the welcome silence as they vacated each space. The silence cherished even more by its own virtue. This place is a rectangle of the world that deserves a moment of your life to visit.

These are pretty good for the outdoor sculptures, and a good sculpture exhibit is one where you can interpret new meaning from multiple sides of it, and some of these do display that quality, including an open-space representation such as the pool, where subtlety is expressed in how the characters are represented. The interior exhibits are great as well, and have their own uniqueness, and the overall walk-through should only take about 30 minutes to an hour to feel complete, and I suggest also checkout out the nearby area. I parked at a meter north of the DMA and walked through Nasher and Crow within about an hour and a half, and touched up on DMA. Nasher isn't free so consider that when planning it.

You can very easily explore this gem in 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how you reflect - or how quickly you navigate the garden area. Made it to see Harry Bertoia’s work at Nasher Sculpture Center... and I think we all had some favorites in the more permanent collection there too. Works by Naum Gabo, Aristide Maillol, & Nic Nicosia topped the charts for us today. Frugal??? Or, perhaps wildly outnumbered by friends/fam that are indifferent about art, beautiful spaces, & sculpture gardens??? Take advantage of FREE ADMISSION the first Saturday of each month.

I've been dying to make a visit and it finally happened. Smaller than I imagined, but yet still everything I'd hoped for. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we were able to get around with stroller. Small collection on view as a new exhibit is being installed. They are also working on lawn, so you're asked to stay off grass. Loved the sculptures and how they're a spaced out so it give you space to move about without running into others. Definitely recommend you make a spot. We were there for an hour and street parked for free.

Edit: The Nasher is now resorting to intimidation tactics to try and get me to remove my reviews here and on WeddingWire/TheKnot. Run, don't walk away from this place. Terrible place to get married. Poorly maintained grounds. They claim that heavy rains destroyed the grass, yet, every other place around Dallas had grass, even Klyde Warren Park which is a free public park right next door. Don't pay thousands to get married in a dirty sand pit with filthy fountains. Choose one of the many other beautiful places around Dallas that are capable of maintaining their properties.

The reason for 3 stars is because basically the entire inside was closed off to set up a new show, but nobody told us that when we first got there and paid. We could have spent our time differently or allocated it differently had we known. The sculpture garden itself was amazing and we had such a nice time enjoying it! They give out clipboards and drawing tools to the kids so they can sketch throughout the museum, which is genius! My 4 year old loved drawing the sculptures and my 18 month old even enjoyed it in spurts! Would love to go back when the inside is set up.

It’s free the first Saturday or every month. We showed up half hour before it closed smh but it’s very nice, clean (they require masks) they have guards watching you, making sure you don’t get too close to the arts during your selfies. Two levels to explore, I wanted to spend more time inside but upon entering the garden I now wanted to spend more time outside. It’s small but it’s very nice with sculptures laid around for one to walk among and explore. When I return to this area (first Saturday of next month) I plan on spending more time observing the art found here.

My student discount got me in for free. I had a lovely experience in that Courtyard and the indoor exhibit. There were many sculptures and the general area was well kept. No trash anywhere, the bathrooms were also clean. It was a very classy atmosphere with with all the patrons getting along quietly. The staff was friendly. As an added bonus, I spotted some ducks also enjoying the facilities!

They closed 2 of 3 galleries for the new collection and we did not know that, so it left us only 1 gallery to see! We basically just walked outside in a garden but oh my gosh it smelled awful outside!! Guess what? there is a garbage dumpster right outside of the museum so it makes your visit quite delightful!! Here are all the things you will see in a garden! The only fun we had was the spindle outside of the entrance that u can sit on and have a little ride! Save your money until there is something to see.

We saw the amazing Harry Bertoia exhibit, which was so beautifully displayed. A range of his artistic skills were on display including monoprints, jewelry, and a variety of sculptures. We so enjoyed the sonombiant sound performance with the musical sculptures. What a treat to hear this impressive performance!! I highly recommend visiting this exhibit.

There are literally no sculptures here. Sculpting requires skills. You SCULPT the material. This is an accumulation of art installations that look like they were based on drawings by toddlers. One “sculpture” was literally a pile of bricks…Would be zero stars but they were giving out hot cocoa. Just go to the Dallas museum of ACTUAL art. It’s right next door.

We had a great time at the Nasher sculpture garden! Even though it was raining, it was still a lot of fun. The staff were friendly, security was thorough and we were able to get up close and personal with some really unique pieces we wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. Great exhibits—very thought provoking. Also, great that they have the student discount—we told friends about that who are excited to visit!

Amazing sculpture museum with regular exhibits and news one around the year. Outside garden is beautiful with many sculptures. I use to visit at least once a year. Beverages and snack available onsite. Free access first weekend of the month. You may need at least 1h to visit.

The best day to go to Nasher is on the first Satuday of each month. This is when they have their free admission day for the museum. The outside area is very nice with trees, a water feature and sculptures. They had little folding stools you could borrow for free to sit outside. This is also the area where McKinney Boyd HS orchestra Ambassadors played music for a couple hours for visitors to enjoy.

The Nasher is not worth $10 and is very small. You're better off going across to the Dallas Museum of Art which is free. Some of the Nasher staff are rude and creepy, following or yelling at guests for no reason. Some of the staff looked borderline homeless.

Only one room was open when I went to the Nasher as they were in the process of installing a large scale exhibition. There were interesting pieces nonetheless and I did receive discounted admission and a free pass to return which was really nice of them! The real gem was the outdoor sculpture garden. Extremely beautiful and peaceful. I easily could have spent hours out there.

Excellent museum with indoor and outdoor exhibits. Well worth a trip and it's conveniently located across the street from the Dallas Art Museum. Rotating exhibits create a new experience with each visit. Slight admission fee.

This small, yet beautiful museum is such a hidden gem ! Gorgeous pieces to look at and the garden outdoors is such a wonderful treat. You could probably spend a good 45 minutes here, but my suggestion, go to the Dallas Museum of Art afterwards! It is literally across the street !

Beautiful sculpture center - great variety of work presented in a gorgeous, inviting building. The staff was so nice and informative as well - really made the visit even better. Perhaps due to the snow/cold, the lawn out back was closed, but you could still see some of the work at a distance (we visited early February 2022).

Free on certain days. Good to have a toddler with you so you can hear how they describe the sculptures. Walk through light exhibit (by cafe) fun but walk up and down the light twice for full effect

Free since I'm military, but might also be free for Dallas residents. Not usually into abstract art, but they had some cool stuff. Especially the large sculptures outside.

Wonderful, creative and very artistic sculptures. Great collections at very beautiful location, in the downtown and art galleries around. First time I visited this kinda gallery and it was a lovely experience. Awesome outdoor garden with all the sculptures and their descriptions.

As an avid museum goer, I found this venue to be a bit boring, it is very beautiful and tranquil especially in the gardens, but with parking and admission I'd recommend walking around and attending a second museum.

This space itself is a sculpture, and the staff are very welcoming. Just a few steps from the DMA and a central park space. There are many works from established artists as well as younger contemporary artists. I think this a perfect addition to a weekend trip.

Great 'permanent' collection and unique sculpture exhibits. The Nasher is a great place to visit in the Dallas Arts District. Special days such as "Nasher Till Midnight" and "First Saturday" (free entry first Saturday of the month) are great community events .

A truly wonderful place. Like an oasis in downtown Dallas. It's small, but they have some amazing pieces that are worthy of a world-class museum. They have these activity tote bags that can be a fun change of pace, whether you're an adult or a child.

Lovely museum. It's really nice to go in the outside part if weather is permitting. Have super fun events there as well. On the 2st Saturday of the month admission is free and they have activities for the kiddos.

Wonderful gem in Dallas, right next to the Dallas Art Museum. Love the modern sculptures of Arp. They even have a couple of Picasso sculptures. Their small gift shop is one of my favorite museum shops.

Gorgeous building filled with natural light. Lovely pools with lily pads and a pretty fountain. Wish there was a bit more art here. Free entry with a NARM reciprocal membership.
