I just terminated everything with World Health last Friday, and I will never go back to WH again. My conclusion and suggestion for the new comers to this place is that only taking their lowest package ( the one with bi-weekly payment of $42 around with full access of the facilities). If you want personal training, just pay as you go. The reason and full story of why I come to this result? Please read the following: Fairly speaking, my trainer is awesome. Calgary Place is the newest facility, and it is pretty well maintained. (that made them worth the last star) However, their management and communication is a mess. They were terrible at customer managing. I have started and paid the one on one personal training (PT) plan (The highest package they have). But, my trainer did not get notified of what I had, and I did not know what the session looked like (I was new, and I thought what I have is what I have gotten at that time) until a month and half after. I found that the training I have had was group training, which was the second level package, and it only worth half of what i have paid. I was a little upset, and I was like, group sessions were fun, and my trainer was very professional and smart. I like him to continue train me, and I have enjoyed my sessions so far. Therefore, I downgrade to the next package to continue working out. At that time I only used 10 sessions. However, they said my payments were behind, and I have to make the payment up for them to downgrade the package. Even if, I have paid twice of the value than what I have been trained. This has accumulated my rancor. However, I am a nice guy, and I paid it to get everything moving forward. Then, the most ridiculous thing happened. I kept my training schedule going with my trainer by using temporary chits for about 5 times while await for them to update my plan (that is a month's waiting) and none of them got into their system. So, my trainer did not get paid. Plus, in one occasion, my trainer and I found some of my used PT were miss tracked because their receptionists put my sessions to another Darcy's account. Instead of make their system correct, their manager, Lincoln, made the trainer and I agreed to wash of the 20 sessions to the new PT plan that I have paid ( the value of 10 one on one equals 20 of the current ones). The reason for make this agreement: I paid 10 which equals 20 of the downgraded ones, 5 sessions were not counted during the time of waiting their updating. 3 sessions were miscalculated to another poor Darcy. My trainer sometime trained me 10 mins more than they claimed 45 mins a session, which i have no idea what it should be for a normal session cuz none told me how long it would be. I assume it was an hr. Besides, Trainer got paid for the first ten sessions at the one on one rate already. This should be end of the story? Hell no, the total contracted session was 52 in total. Now, we made the agreement of wash 20 sessions. Therefore, the forward contracted balance should be 32 (52-20). But, they still make me paying my original contracted balance of 42(52-10). I have tried and waited 3 weeks for communicating their back office and the PT manager, Lincoln. They were kicking me back and forth saying they cannot understand the calculation. The Office saying I should contact PT manager, Lincoln, and he was saying I should talk to their Office, and compliance s h i t. What a simple math that you guys could not even figure it out, and you put your customer to do your communication job? Yeah?! Is this my problem or yours, should I get paid for doing this? I have paid my fine of bitching the contract for get rid of them, and I have to pay another month for ending this terrible experience with them. I did not take any PT sessions the week before I cancel it. When I ask Lincoln how many sessions do I left and still can use at the 'official end'. (you need to continue paying them for another month after termination) He told me I only have 4. shouldn't it be 4 +1? I am tired of talking with those dudes. Developed body with simple mind
I like this gym, the facilities, classes and the people that work at this location however whoever runs this company has zero business sense and has the mind of a scammer. I know the company is now run by new people however it appears they didn't really change their business practices of billing people incorrectly. Now I hear that they will no longer accept credit cards and only will accept charging your bank account. I can guess why that is... because it's more difficult to dispute charges on your bank account once the money is already gone. DO NOT give this company your bank account information. I had years of billing issues when this company was World Health but thanks to my credit card company, I was able to dispute the charges or stop the unauthorized amounts from being charged. Based on the recent reviews, it looks like the billing issues haven't improved. Now I know there are probably some deadbeat customers out there but this is not the case 99% of the time with this company. For example, if you decide to stop personal training or you want to cancel your membership (and you are month to month), you have to give 30 days notice. That's fine but this company will likely continue to bill you after the 30 days. They continued to bill people during Covid when they were closed. The people who froze their account during Covid suddenly had the charges resume when they received no notice that the gym had reopened. If you have to use a bank account, open another account at another bank and transfer the exact amount of money into that account per period and nothing more. If you ever have to cancel training or your membership (of course in the terms of the contract), you can easily do so and if they try and continue to bill you, you can stop transferring money to that account. That sounds like a huge hassle but it really is the only way with this company. Other than the nightmare of the billing issues, the gym itself is great.
In April of 2022 I was hit by a car, and was not able to continue my membership for obvious reasons. At first they were understanding and said they would put my account on hold until I could see my family doctor for follow up, I was hospitalized for complications from the hit and while hospitalized I was continuing to be charged. My emails were ignored until May when they sent me a contract to sign by literally saying "sign this and send it back", it was paperwork to put my account on freeze in May, even though via email I was told it was frozen in April. So I'm in the hospital, can barely walk and I was being charged for services I could not use. The freeze went in, and the money removed from my account was never given back. Now fast forward to this week (October 2022), I am being texted that I have an outstanding balance on my account. I called trying to explain what happened to me and I was told to "stop talking", that everything I was saying was not true, and that he would not be listening to me further, I just "owe them money". I was so distraught and felt so discriminated against I hung up the phone. I then called my home gym at Calgary Place, and was told again that they don't cancel contracts for medical reasons, and that I would have to pay the fees to cancel. When mentioning the funds removed from my account, I was ignored, and told if I wanted a nother freeze to send another doctor's note, but until then they will be collecting fees until I do. I never want to go to them gym ever again, there facilities do not accommodate those with disabilities, as I was told that the elevator was not in service for clients. I am currently working with the Government of Alberta human rights, and legal guidance. I will not except being discriminated against due to my disability,
Billing has been an absolute circus since the start of the pandemic. Despite freezing my membership and training subscription, they continued to charge me. Finally I just disputed the charges with my credit card. Then they started charging me a membership again (despite it being frozen, and me letting them know it should stay that way). Ended up canceling my credit card. Now they’re hassling me for a “freeze fee” and saying I’ve over-trained on my subscription (even though I haven’t trained in 2 years). I’ve spoke to several reps, reception, the training manager, and location manager…never gets sorted out. I’ve been a member for 15+ years, spent tens of thousands on training and memberships, and like the Calgary Place location, but I’m pretty much over this outfit! I definitely don’t trust them with my bank account or credit card information. They’ve also closed locations and reduced hours over the years (unlike the competition), and their most experienced trainers have walked. And while I’m complaining, what’s with the terrible name? Did they actually pay someone to come up with it? UPDATE: After numerous conversations and emails to try and understand the charges, it was for “over training” (allegedly training more than I’d paid for). They’d agreed to only charge for 1 session per week while training virtually during covid; however, they charged me for more (in some cases multiple sessions per day). They refused to reverse the charges, saying “that’s what’s in their system”, and threatened to send me to collections. I paid up to avoid any further dealings with them, and canceled my membership. Hearing that they now want banking information instead of credit cards for direct withdrawals would be a non-starter after my experience!
They can charge my card automatically after I cancel, but won't take the exact same credit card over the phone for me to pay the cancellation fees - therefore they have charged me again... I have been called out of town on a family situation that may require me to relocate out of the country. I informed World Health Club of this situation and requested that my membership be cancelled. They were unwilling to provide any kind of break on the cancellation fees even under these most trying of circumstances. I received an email telling me that it had been cancelled and to simply pay the fee - I had to get someone else to do it as I am out of the country and cannot go and pay in person at Edgemont. They have now charged me again for my monthly fee as they claim I did not pay the cancellation in time - I was NEVER informed there was a time frame this had to be handled within. However I had it handled in about 10 days. The service when they sign you up is all blue skies and sunshine, but they have no desire to be of assistance when you need to cancel, regardless of the circumstance. I guess that is the joy behind having a nameless, faceless email address that all these types of inquiries have to go through. Just a heads up, beware if you need something after they have you all signed up - likely they will find a way to just take more money.
I was so ill I could not leave the house. They demanded I physically come there to pause payments. They knew from the beginning I had a severe long term illness as I told them at time of registration. They demanded a doctor's note. Fair enough. But I was willing to pay the fee to pause payments anyways. However, they demanded I physically show up. I could not physically walk to show up. They did not have a mechanism to pause payments over the phone or email. Keep this in mind before you register. The moment my friend stops going I will deregister. I am a big fan of extending goodwill, but only if you extend it to me first. Since you did not do that, I will not forget. I was going to recommend you to my company. I will not do so since you did what you did. Good job in losing thousands in potential gym fees. I trust it was worth it:) *** No I am not contacting you. YOU had ample opportunity to figure this out when I called you multiple times. YOU could have fixed this. I am not taking time out of my day to help you after how you blantantly mistreated me in my time of illness when my immune systems attacked my leg muscles so I couldn't walk. Please let it be known, my company picked Anytim Fitnesse as the gym for our corporation. This cost your company $20,000 per a year as a result of your greed.
Hello GYMVMT, This is just a quick note of appreciation and gratitude to all of you at GYMVMT, and to your teams at the various locations. I can't imagine how difficult this has been for you and your business, with long shutdowns and inconsistent and sometimes ridiculous mandates from our provincial governments regarding how you're allowed to operate. I'm sure there have been many late nights and many troubled days over these past 13 months, and many long hours pouring through balance sheets and financial statements trying to make sure you'll come out of this mess as financially healthy as possible. I really appreciate how you've been pivoting and adapting to all of these changes in order to get your clients, like me, back in the gym and working out again. The latest reversion to Step 1, and the way you've responded to it is particularly impressive. Although the situation is not ideal, I can see that all of you are really trying to both toe the line in terms of what the government has demanded, and allow your members into the gym to continue working towards our fitness goals. Coming to the gym is a big part of maintaining my mental health, so I am very grateful for the efforts you have made. Please keep up the great work. Tyler
The gym is really well maintained with all the equipment you could ask for and lots of space. The locker rooms are really clean and well stocked. The only thing I dislike is that they are kinda pushy with their packages. I have an autoimmune disease and a dietician I work closely with and they really didn't seem to understand a nutritionist wasn't an appropriate sell to someone like me. I'm sure the poor kid selling me the package was just following instructions, but they need to be aware of how this comes across. Otherwise, everyone else I've dealt with has been very friendly. If you want to cancel your membership, I found it easy to write a letter to head office (I was on mat leave and unable to make it down to the club) and it was hassle-free. This method is in your contract, just follow the instructions. ********* Edit: ended up canceling my membership again when they rebranded. Suddenly one of the trainers had all his private clients take over the gym and half the equipment. Made completing a workout impossible as they were hoarding all the weights and laughing about it. Awful idea, couldn’t believe they’d be okay with this. Moved to World Gym, couldn’t be happier.
I spoke to a legal professional regarding GYMVMT: "This is what the dispute button with your bank is for. File a dispute on all of the charges that have processed already and when anything new comes out of pending do that to them as well. When you file the dispute you should be able to upload documentation of the cancellation/conversations in email. Banks rarely listen to the vendor over you, and you didn't sign the contract. A gym doing this to you is so predictable, and chances are that your bank is already very familiar with GMVMT. While the bank is evaluating your claim they should be temporarily refunding all of the money that the gym charged you. You'll have to pay it back if you lose the dispute, so don't spend it until you get the final word. There's a really good chance that there's nothing the gym can do to challenge the dispute and they might not even respond, which is an automatic win for you after the set time. Just keep all your documentation in order. The merchant has to pay for disputes win or lose. They are just trying to milk out what they can before selling the "debt" for tenths of a cent on the dollar. "
I signed up at HERGYMVMT last year after being referred there by a close friend. The bay club location announced they were permanently closing on June 1st, which is when I first requested a cancellation. My membership was transferred to the Calgary place location without my consent and they’ve been charging me the biweekly fee that I agreed on with a women’s only gym, not coed. I spoke with one of the managers there about how I don’t feel comfortable at a coed gym and considering the inconvenience of the gym I signed up at being closed down they would cancel my membership as I wasn’t the one who broke the agreement. He didn’t care at all about my situation and kept repeating I have to pay the cancellation fee even though I had been paying for my membership I asked to be cancelled in June. When I signed up at the Bay Club I had a great experience but it’s obvious now this company doesn’t care about you or your goals and honestly after they decide to cancel my membership I will never join another gym again.
Good facility, very poor management. They not only continued to charge me during co-vid when I was unable to use the facility (you may have seen the CTV news story where they were speaking to a number of the gym's clients because they were extremely unhappy about being charged while not being able to use the facility) which I did understand to some degree even though over gyms froze client accounts, but after my one year contract ended in May, they continued to charge me. I know times are tough for everyone, but this is as shady as it gets. Extremely frustrated to say the least, I signed a 1 year contract and was told after my term ended that I would be given the option to renew, instead they just assumed I'd sign up for another year and kept charging me bi-weekly dues. I'm trying to figure out what I could have done differently to prevent this, but can promise you or any of the people I know will never sign up to use this company again. Very disappointed, Canadian Business is better than this.
I was considering joining and provided my email through the website (because of course, no price info available unless you agree to meet with them..) That should've already set off some alarm bells, but I was contacted by a rep and everything seemed fine. I forgot to reply for a couple of days and when I checked back, my email had 3 more unsolicited messages from the same rep, each getting pushier and pushier about when I'd be coming in. That really turned me off so i replied "Hey - I'm not loving this approach, I think I'll stick with my gym, thanks!" This is the response I got: "We are clearly not the gym for you if your not even willing to take a tour. I have many potential members who would love to see the facility and not drill me for pricing over email. All the best" Needless to say, im not sure if this is a joke or what, but I wont be joining..
I have been a SQUASH member at Bankers Hall for many years and pre-pay my membership yearly. Bankers Hall club was part of GYMVMT and they closed my club prior to selling to another company. They tried to move me to another squash club, Edgemont, but that location closed too. I asked for a refund of my remaining SQUASH membership fees (over $800) as they no longer have a squash club location. They will not offer any refunds for squash fees despite no longer having a squash club. They only have offered me other services which I do not want. Beware, they just say that my signed agreement says no refunds and made no effort to provide me with a viable option. All I ask is that they either provide me with squash courts or refund my money. I would suggest that you do not pay in advance for gym fees these days no matter how good the deal.
Great equipment and facilities. The gym overall is really good, 5 stars for the gym. The reason I removed 2 stars, is because of their lack of flexibility on cancellation fees. I paid 1K of cancellation fee ( around 800$ for personal training, which was honest and transparent because the contract said it was non refundable ) , and they also charged me a 30 days notice fee when it has been over 30 days I advised that I wanted to cancel ( that would be the only thing I would say that was not ethical in the cancellation fees ) and I paid for another month of gym membership after I said I wanted to cancel. It's a gym I would recommend, but just remember that they won't be flexible at all with cancellation fees and they could charge you the 30 day notice fee even if you advise them 30 days earlier that you needed to cancel.
Gym was a great location with great, helpful staff. Unfortunately I CANNOT recommend doing business with them. They called around about freezing accounts due to covid. But then a month later they quietly started taking payments again citing an email that likely ended up in junk mail. When I called to complain they didn't really care about the money they took without notice. Still have to make another payment to get out. I would have been fine with the payments if i knew they were happening but as it stands i was charged for a membership that I thought I didn't have and so didn't use any services during that time. Scumbag move especially during times when so many people are struggling financially. My fault I guess for not noticing the payments I guess, still pretty a bad way to do business though.
I’m not really a big gym fan. But things had to change when life decided to throw me 2 sons that I now have to keep up with. Enter WHC-Calgary Place - you can say I’m a changed gal! The equipment is new and easy to use, the trainers are awesome, the classes are challenging and fun, and the staff are extremely helpful. The steam room and the towel service are not bad either! They stock up the locker rooms with the essentials, so all you have to do is show up. I come at all hours of the day, and it’s always clean and welcoming. This place is perfect for the whole fitness spectrum: newbies, casual but committed and the big and buff. My only complaint is that they don’t have early morning classes. Other than that, this gym is pretty nice. Check it out! You won’t be disappointed.
World Health Calgary Place is a great place to have a gym membership! The facility is spacious, exceptionally clean, and well laid out. I have been a member and a fitness instructor in several gyms across the world, and this is probably my favourite by far and definitely the only one I have ever recommended as a member! One of the most important factors that makes it a remarkable gym is the Reception Manager, Scott. Scott makes it a point to know everyone’s name and ALWAYS greets you going in and leaving. This may seem like a small thing, but it means a lot and goes a long way in supporting retention and a positive and friendly environment. Well done Scott! World Health Calgary Place is Great Gym with Great Atmosphere, Great Staff and a Great Location!
Poor communication, and not transparent about billing. Disconnect between club and billing department that results in account misunderstandings. Not an affordable membership. ETA: Once again having issues with accounting. Attempted to cancel my membership and was confronted with a charge I was under the impression had been dealt with last year. Of course, the person (Scott) I was communicating with at that time, no longer works there. They refuse to actually assist with their error and lack of proper disclosure/communication, and this has now been going on so long that my 30-day notice for cancellation will likely be void, forcing me to once again pay them more money due to their shady accounting / business practices.
I recently had to cancel my gym membership due to a move, and I was shocked to discover that the cancellation fee amounted to a staggering $210. This fee seems excessively high and left me feeling frustrated. Furthermore, I wasn't pleased with the way the gym treated its members. It felt like they were constantly trying to maximize their profits at the expense of the customers. This was particularly noticeable during my personal training sessions, where there was a constant emphasis on upselling and additional charges. The overall atmosphere created an uncomfortable feeling, as if I always had to be on guard regarding my expenses while using their services.
I have had a major surgery and need to pause my membership for a minimum of 8 weeks. My options, as they have been relayed to me, are to pay a pause fee of $52.50, a cancellation fee of 30 days (three payments of $52.50) or pay my doctor $185 to write them a note, in which case they will happily pause my membership free of charge. Kelsey, when I talked to her on the phone about this, offered no solutions and in fact laughed at me. I sure hope Kelsey is never in this position. Follow-up...this issue was resolved by the General Manager at GYMVMT. She did a great job and found a workable solution.
Fantastic gym with great team and a special thanks to my personal trainer Max. I have seen great improvement in my neck pain. Touchwood now I don't get dizzy due to cervical vertigo and can sleep without worrying about hurting my neck. I may not have been able to lose weight (due to multiple health issues) but I feel stronger than before. I was never a gym person but I am into exercise and healthy eating now. All thanks to Max, he is very knowledgeable and pays attention to individuals need. My husband too has joined now and training with Max after seeing my progress.
The gym was nice, but never try to cancel your membership. The staff are very rude when you try to cancel, and the fees are very expensive. I won a free trial for the membership, but it was not free in the end. They told us that the cancellation fee would be free, and they never informed us that we would have to pay a $103 cancellation fee, plus pay for an entire month of $60 even though the payments were biweekly. Nice gym, however I would never return or sign a contract again because there is a lot of hidden fees in the contract.
Please do yourself the favour of never joining this terrible company! It's incredibly hard to cancel your membership, they don't ever respond to emails, after they closed the Edgemont location there is no one I can contact about being reimbursed for the fees taken out after my gym closed down. STAY AWAY! Edit: I finally got a response (4 weeks later) and they said they can't refund my fees paid after the gym closed down, because there is a month cancellation period... I am so glad the Edgemont gym parted ways with this company!
Excellent facilities and exceptionally friendly staff. Everyone makes an effort to get to know you and say hi. Shout out to "Scotty" at the front desk, who is always in a good mood and checks me in before I can even get off the building escalator. Additionally, being a Chiropractor on the main floor at Evolve Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, once I got to know the personal trainers at this location, I have no qualms sending any of my patients upstairs for specific training to complement their clinical rehabilitation.
I am new to this particular World Health facility , having moved here from the Richmond gym so I could continue training with my extraordinary trainer Jorge Trasfi. If you are looking for results and ready to put in the work I guarantee you will see significant gains working with this amazing man !!! Jorge has many years of personal experience, relevant knowledge and extensive trainer education. Jorge is patient , kind and takes the time to personalize your training to help you reach your full potential in the gym !!!
Clean fully equipped gym on 3 floors with fully loaded change rooms with towel service. Lots of lockers and clean showers /steam/sauna room that doesn’t smell bad. Equipment is new with lots of fancy machines and standalone weights, kettlebells, TRX, etc. I really like the daily classes for spin, weights, yoga and HIIT type classes, there’s always something to choose from. Plenty of trainers coaching especially at lunch and reception is always friendly. Overall: one of the better gyms in the downtown core.
This gym is great if you're downtown. It's new clean and bright. They have two floors of an office building that was turned into gym space. One floor with change rooms, cardio equipment and a machine circuit. One floor with a group classroom, some machines and free weights including a dumbbell area, kettle bells and barbell areas. It gets crowded at lunch but out side of that hour there is usually no wait for equipment. Other amenities include towels, dry and wet sauna and laundry fit an extra charge.
nice facility, decent equipment. I had suggested to a friend to start working out, with gymvmt being the closest location, while the gym I go to is farther. I offered to go through my own workouts with my friend to help them get started and teach them proper form. however, we were stopped by staff as you can't 'train,' as a friend and not a personal trainer... unless it's through their personal trainers/staff. safe to say we won't be coming back here, and my friend will be switching to my gym :)
avoid avoid this gym! i have been training here for a few years and the last year the trainers have zero respect for people not being trained but taking up all the space and leaving nothing for people that don't pay for sessions! I have asked who the manager is and someone pointed she was working out with a trainer who was using up quite a bit of space- needless to say why would someone complain when they are the cause..... the respect level shown by the trainers is a ZERO_ avoid avoid
Wish I joined sooner! This is an incredible gym that is super clean and has great new equipment. A number of colleagues have join in recent months. My personal trainer Max Hall is awesome! He's super knowledgeable and has really helped me achieve my goals in a very supportive manner. Max is so good, that two colleagues and I now train with him. The rest of the team are awesome too. If your looking to get started on a goal or continuing your path - this is the place you want to be.
This is a wonderful gym full of professional and helpful staff! Lots of equipment to use and plenty of space on both levels. I train with Jorge and he is absolutely wonderful! Jorge is helpful, kind, and understanding and not afraid to push you to get the best out of your workouts! A very dedicated trainer who takes time to write workout plans and give plenty of advice! Definitely recommend him to anyone!
Do not sign up for this gym..they will lie to you about the policies and then get their employees to also lie about the policies. I went to this location and made acquaintances with a few of the staff members who have all complained about the terrible management. Would have been happy to continue my membership but I refuse to support any business that has these type of management practices.
This is their second location down town but it is probably the best one in the city. It goes over a few levels and has ample space for anything you want to do. I normally visit the Edgemont gym but if I am downtown I will be looking for reasons to come to this one. ( Please understand I have very little interaction with staff and this review is entirely on the facility).
Terrible experience trying to learn about my options here. I used the contact form on the website, and they only offer a week trial or coming in for pricing. I was trying to learn about the personal trainers for my husband, so no use me going in for a trial myself. Gave me NO info and was rude when I asked to be taken off of the text/call list! Terrible sales process.
Joined this location over a year ago (most of my office are also members) and visit everyday. Overall, its a great gym with excellent staff. Very easy to recommend because its reasonably priced, clean and not overly crowded. New equipment is occasionally introduced (recently got a yoke and a tank sled), which doesn't happen enough at other gyms, if at all.
Fantastic gym with new equipment and plenty of room in the heart of downtown Calgary. It was well worth upgrading my membership at WHC to use this gym. The front desk staff is friendly and the gym and the change room are kept clean. The weight training area has plenty of equipment so I typically can use whatever equipment I need without having to wait.
Fantastic facility! Great location, super easy to get to from the outside as well as the +15 network. Lots and lots of equipment, very clean and the additional amenities (fully stocked change rooms, sauna, etc.) are fantastic. All the staff are so friendly and approachable. (Special shout out to Kaitlyn for being awesome!) Highly recommend.
The General Manager is extremely arrogant and hostile. When I asked a few simple questions it was met with unprofessional behavior. I've heard this from a handful of people now so this isn't an isolated issue. I highly suggest this company consider hiring elsewhere, or assess why his behavior is the way it is. Not a good look for GYMVMT.
World Health Calgary Place is an executive-level gym, very clean, convenient, and customer service-oriented. Personally, I am very impressed with the front desk service by Scott Weisgarber, the Reception Manager. The trainers are fantastic there, too. A special shout out to Jeff L., Sara, Jason O., Cory F., Catt W, and Kim T. Thank you.
Top notch, great trainers and all the equipment is new. Tends to get busy during lunch hours but a perfect iron paradise during off-peak hours. It feels great comming into a place where everyones smiling and happy. The trainers understand and help you push through your personal limits and all are very knowledgable.
Shout out to Nicole at front desk for providing me such great customer service. Also Sam is who you need you need to ask for when you have membership inquiries. She still follows up with me even after years of enrolling. Love this gym and esspecially it's friendly staff. Kind Regards, Fahad at House of Cars Chinook
I have had a really good experience working with Julian (Assistant GM) throughout the pandemic closure and into the reopening of the gym. He has been very helpful with my account and addressing any concerns I may have about coming back to the gym. Scott at reception is also very professional and helpful.
Joining this gym was the worse decision ever. I had to move to a location where there’s no clubs close and they have been the most unfriendly and uncooperative with the early cancellation process. Please think twice before you sign for a year. I have lost hundreds of dollars in the process.
Great gym! I dropped in when I was in town for work. All new equipment, they have everything. Super impressed even a 70 lb kettlebell. Washrooms are top tier, hairdryers, mouthwash body lotion. Sauna. It's like a spa. Kaitlyn was great. Super welcoming. I had a great workout. Thank you
This gym is by far the nicest gym I’ve been to in Calgary. Tanner took such good care of me from my first visit and Dennis the GM keeps this place in top shape. Infrared sauna and towel service here makes this by far the most convenient place to work out!
Exceptional customer service and great place to workout. Big shoutout to my trainer Jorel! He's been an incredible coach, very knowledgeable, always pointing me in the right direction with clear instructions. Definitely an asset to this company.
Staff are awesome. Its kept very clean. Would give 5 stars, but won't because after closing the Bay club to men, this location gets packed fast and there are not enough free motion cables or squat racks. Nice place though.
Best gym in the city!! Personable and friendly staff, clean and accommodating facility. Great options for classes and personal training!! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a great experience!
Good gym, quiet and clean. Equipment isnt the highest quality compared to other gyms out there. Was alittle disappointed in the upkeep. When I dropped in the water fountains weren't working nor the men's restroom....
Staff is excellent, equipment is well maintained and clean, shower areas are exceptionally clean. trainers are a great group of people that are fun to work out with. would highly recommend this gym. ----c
Great gym, good atmosphere. Always clean, High quality equipment, spacious and lots of room through two floors to accommodate all types of training. Steam room, sauna, always clean. Good gym.
Great equipment, lots of open space for free weights, friendly staff and members. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the demotivational top 40 ballads blasting over the speaker system.
Great gym with all the amenities! Scott and the front desk crew are extremely friendly and helpful. My trainer Steve is awesome and there for 100% support. Highly recommended :)
Clean, professional, helpful tips around equipment. Knowledgeable coaches. Do not push or up sell services. Convenient classes. Good hours. Steam and infrared sauna kept clean.
I've trained at this gym for close to two years. Trainers are great, gym is clean and well equipped. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a gym in the downtown core.
Clean, great equipment, and amazing staff. The trainers are upbeat and make the atmosphere welcoming. Recommend see Kevin for your membership and Jeff for personal training.
Jorel Zielke is a great PT. Lucky to be working with him. Gym is always clean and never too busy or empty. Lots of equipment and space to work with. Best gym in the city.
Great place to work out. Amazing staff. Extremely friendly. Jorel and Laureen are incredible personal trainers and would be able to help you with your fitness needs ☺️
Regional Personal Training manager is an uninspired, lazy slug, that will do as minimal work as possible at the expense of the service towards staff and members.
Staff is great and the equipment is in good shape/well maintained. I usually go in late afternoon/evening and there's not much of a wait for equipment, if any.
Don’t join this gym. They closed down the one at the bay and now this location has over double the people. Can’t even get a locker room or have space to change
Decent club but the ac is cranked all the time. Even though winter. I find goodlifes are a good few degrees warmer and more comfortable temp to workout in.
I love the new location!! Excellent staff, new equipment, and relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend you check it out on your own, you'll be impressed.
Nice new and clean facility. Friendly staff. Can get a bit busy on Mondays but that's the case for most gyms. Would be nice if they added a pec deck.
This is an awesome, clean and spacious gym with new equipment and a great vibe. The trainers and staff are professional, welcoming, and hard-working.
Nice place but missing equipment usually found in other gyms, Old Bay Club & MacLeod Trail had/have a better selection of equipment.
Jorge is an excellent trainer! Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone who can customize to your needs. Highly knowledgeable!
Great downtown facility for all levels of fitness! No hot water in the men's showers after 12:30 on a weekday lunch hour though!
The gym is conveniently located if you are downtown. It's new, clean and modern look. Tanner has been a great trainer.
Spend the money on home equipment or a high end fitness band for all the enjoyment going to this gym will bring you.
Awesome gym and awesome staff. Fiona is always there with the best welcoming smile. Highly recommended …
Great gym but missing a couple of things that I like. Specifically a punching bag and more ab machines types.
Decent daily rate with nearby hotel discount. WiFi doesn’t reach all parts of gym. Otherwise good facility.
This place is awesome! Busier than the Bay gym, but there's lots of equipments. Enjoy my last visit there.
New and nice, don't like that it's split between 2 floors and that they don't have any treadclimbers
No deadlifting platform. Equipment is new but kind of cumbersome. Locker room needs bigger lockers.
Very spacious, not too crowded at typical rush hour. Great services/amenities and friendly service
Super amazing gym! Great equipment, super quiet and clean. Waaay better then Good Life Or Golds.
Great staff and facility. Nice and cool on workout floors. Lots of room. You'll hate it ;-). jk
Great downtown club. The setup is perfect for a quick run to the gym during a busy work day.
Awesome gym, friendly staff and most importantly not as crowded as other gyms in downtown.
Amazing place to work out. Wonderful and friendly staff. I am happy I chose this gym.
Trendy, a lot of windows, good, new equipment, gets a little busy during lunch hour.
Great staff, trainers, and facilities. Everyone is friendly and kind. My fav gym.
Never join any membership or sign contract with this gym. It should be illegal.
Great place! Very well kept and the front desk staff are helpful and friendly.
Excellent gym. Lockers + shower area are super clean and well taken care of.
Great gym! Equipment is always working, sauna and steam room are amazing!
Good facility, with new machines and minimal crowds (outside lunch hours)
The best gym downtown, but I am gate keeping it so please don’t sign up
love their personal training program and very clean and friendly staff
Excellent fitness club Best in town Just LOVE IT1 …
One star less because it has dry sauna. Nice executive gym overall.
Very well run gym. Top of the line machines. Very clean and tidy.
Great club. Love the facilities and the privacy and great views.
Nice views of downtown, infrared saunas and well curated stuff
Pros: - Located in the heart of downtown - Friendly trainers
Very nice and clean place, all amenities are new and clean.
Great place to work out... Right in the heart of downtown.
