"I have two complaints about the new Gilles Plains shopping centre"
"I dont use this s/c as to far for me to travel"
"A relatively new shopping centre after the renovations and enlargement works"
"Gilles Plains is a really nice little shopping centre with an excellent Woolworths"
"Carpark design really bad"
I have two complaints about the new Gilles Plains shopping centre. 1. Only one way in or out of the carpark on the right hand side when one enters from Blacks Road. This particular entrance is very popular and turns into a bottleneck as people are constantly entering, leaving, parking or turning right/left. There needs to be another exit from that side, eg the road where Woolworth's petrol station is located could have an exit from that car park as well. 2. Being accosted by the charity people all wanting a commitment of ONLY a $1.00 a day ($365.00/year) for their particular charity/business. I mean how much money do they think the local people have. I have never been so inundated by charities at a shopping centre in my life. It doesn't happen at Tea Tree Plaza or Newton but at Gilles Plains it is every time I go in. I don't mind giving a one off donation and already am committed to Save the Children Fund but find it is seriously annoying to constantly explain myself every time I go in, to the point that I now just smile and ignore them. I don't like to be rude but it has come to that. Other than these particular flaws, I do like the shopping centre but would like some other shops such as a health food shop or organics shop like it did before the renovations.
I dont use this s/c as to far for me to travel...however Dan Murphy had a product that i cldnt get near home...i travelled down Sudholz road, saw Dan Murphy sign next to entry to s/c... wheres Dan Murphys.... it was very busy in the carpark so i wove myself around and came out on another street...did a u turn, went back thru the car park back onto sudholz. Took a left turn at the traffic lights and saw again a sign for DM.... on leavin i was blocked in by an enormous 4 wheel drive so turned right and ended up on a street which as i followed i realised was the original street i was on in the other carpark.... what the.... what a crazy shoppin centre.... the DM sign on the carpark entrance from sudholz road needs to be removed!!!!!!! Its a shopping centre i wont bother with in the future
A relatively new shopping centre after the renovations and enlargement works. The layout can be a little frustrating as it is extremely long and many of the tenancies remain vacant, meaning that you need to walk from end to end for little reason. They have most of the important features (supermarket, bottle shop, mobile shop, post office, discount shop, food stores and a decent range of assorted other speciality stores). It will be substantially better if / when they're able to fill out the tenancies. The car park is a pretty poor layout which makes a reasonable number of the parks tricky to get in and out, but there are a good number of entrances and exits compared to the size of the parking.
Gilles Plains is a really nice little shopping centre with an excellent Woolworths. Easily the best Woollies in the north of Adelaide. Great selection of speciality stores and places to get a quick bite. Lovely sushi. The only negative is the parking. The section near Aldi is too small, fills up very quickly and gets so congested and the section near Woollies was poorly designed and as soon as it gets busy (Christmas for example) some sections of the park are almost impossible to turn in and out of. It makes the shopping trip very frustrating. Thankfully the stores inside make it worth it.
Carpark design really bad. Having access to spots where the main drive-thru is, not clever. People just reverse straight out and or people just keep driving past you as you are reversing correctly. Also I guess it all comes down to money, money and money, but who was the not so clever person who has approved Woolworths to setup their Direct To Boot in the main carpark? And now with the pending arrival of Lone Star Rib House, another 5 parking spots to go and possibly pedestrian access limited. Who the hell is making these decisions at Gilles Plains Shopping Centre?!?!
Since this centre has being renovated around 4-5 years ago this place can never get businesses in to stay. Not sure if rent is through the roof but for how long do customers have to see shops " coming soon" For this reason it is local to us but dont go here unless absolute necesery NEEEEEED to get a good butcher, good bakery, GOOO cafe with outside seating to relax and enjoy, current cafe doesnt cut it Centre management need to take this seriously so it can become a destination for locals. Lets hope some of these things are "coming soon"!!!!
Another logistical nightmare for those driving about to find parking, seems a bit mashed and tight to get cars around in. There is clearly loads of money to be made from selling sections of land off for fast food places and service amenities etc on the surrounding areas of shopping centres, however this causes issues when trying to wedge the humble customers cars around the land that's left. . Perhaps they need to re think the rent rates on the in side of these malls, and where exactly they want to drive people too. Mmm.
This shopping centre is reasonably new and all the shop spaces haven't been fully let as of yet. Although there is a Woolworth's, an Aldi's, a Vodafone, a travel agent, two cafe's, a specsavers, a fruit and veg, butcher, sushi bar, an Asian grocer and plenty more! I enjoy shopping at this centre because it's central to Mc Donald's, Domino's, Fasta Pasta, an African grocer and many, many more shops in the immediate vicinity This shopping centre is only going to grow and become a major centre in the area.
Gillis plains shopping Centre is a great place to shop please put a Telstra mobile shop in Gillis plains shopping Centre thank you all for your support in Gillis plains shopping Centre please don't be rude again and don't lie the lemonade in the section has to be free sugar !!!and welcome back to Gillis plains shopping centre please keep you up it's going in Gillis plains shopping Centre.
The new looks of the redeveloped shopping centre is really pleasing and the ambience is more open. It's been a while since my last shopping In Gilles Plains. It has Aldi and Wollies Inside, Maccas and Domino's are just around. Just need some footpath and pedestrian crossing, otherwise it's all good. Carpark also need some space as it tends to be crowded when shopping days.
Has the basics in terms of shopping - groceries, cafes, general services etc. No real speciality or niche shops - lots of retail vacancies. Parking is generally good on the Woolworths entrance, but crowded and full on the Aldi/Dan Murphy's entrance. If you're looking to run in to quickly pick something up it can be a bit tedious with parking and mall entrance location.
Pitty about the hardressing Salon. Never seen or been to any Hairdresser in my life with the floor full of hair cuttings almost resembling a sheep station! Not only that but also presenting a safety slip hazard. No matter how busy. A Broom is there for a purpose and that is to sweep the floor! I am amazed a shopping centre allows this. Check out photo provided.
This shopping centre has improved leaps and bounds recently. A few of the big additions were Aldi and Dan Murphys. The Woolworths store was moved to a new location within the shopping centre. They have also got a Flight centre, Asian store, Vodafone store, two pizza shops and a few speciality stores. Parking can get a bit busy at times but it is not too bad.
Newly refurbished, has most things you could need. Woollies is well stocked and plenty of fast food places around. People can't drive well in the carpark (like, they are actual terrible) but just avoid that and your good. Happy shopping! Grab some 40 pack boxes of MiGoreng from the Asian grocer near woollies. Fuel for the mind and body :P
Good shopping center, a wide variety of stores including Woolworths an asian grocery, butcher, hair and beauty salons, Aldi, chemist, post office, bakery, Dan Murphys, Wok in a Box, Domino's and more. Definitely a one stop shop, pleanty of parking and wheelchair access on both entrances as well as a public toilet.
First time at Aldi.....everything I bought was at least half the price of that of Woolies and Coles. So far all is absolutely fine if not better. Staff were lovely too. The fruit and veg were I think on par with the others but much cheaper. Im sold!! But Ill have to remember a coin for my trolley next shop.
A good selection of shops, the main ones being Woolworths, ALDI, the Woolworths petrol station and McDonalds. There is a lot of parking available in different areas. It is very popular since it is near a lot of new housing and will only get more busy with more new housing developments on the way.
All now redeveloped and looking fantastic. Parking design on the north-west side is horrendous with other parking area entirely closed off except by 1 way which is also a parking area. This creates a bottleneck. Place also isn't full of shops yet which makes less of a reason to shop here.
A good medium sized shopping centre. It has several different food options including Chinese and Japanese, Australian take away and cafes. There is a nice Asian grocer, an Work and Woolworths as well. Rhe centre has good parking, including disabled parking and is close to a playground.
The shopping centre itself is pretty good, its been around for several decades and has gone through many upgrades, unfortunately the car parking is an absolute disgrace, not enough parking spots which creates too many cars driving around looking for a space, its chaos.
The shopping mall is great but the parking can be a problem at certain times of the day (I would take off half a star for that issue if I could). If you want to find a park, go around the other side to the Woolworths car park, there are parks there almost all the time.
Woolworths and Aldi are two supermarkets in Gilles Plains shopping centre that I visit every week. It has a nice caffee and a sushi place that I like. It has a huge parking spot outside which is very good. If that shopping centre had a Coles, it would be my number one!
Nice shopping centre - carpark abit of fun park with not knowing directions for the first few times....reject shop an bonus also woolies good to know but the main reason to go there is kaiser craft - extra bonus. Come & see for yourselves the range, I dare you!!!
Medium sized shopping centre. Parking is usually difficult during peak times. Shops include: Aldi, Woolworths, Reject shop, as well as specialist shops like massage, nails, Asian grocery, coffee shops, pizza, noodles, smokemart, barber and several niche shops.
Worst car park ever. Trolley bays at the end of car park hidden and not easily available. So people tend to leave trolleys anywhere. Esp on a hot day you have to walk at the end to return them. Whoever designed it wasn’t thinking according to shopper’s needs.
A place once entered its hard to leave. As all your needs are met, within one place. Popped in to use the toilet. Only to discover a place full of joy and unique shopping experience to get all your shopping juices flowing. So after two hours l finally left.
Good shopping centre to get your basics, groceries, scripts, post barber/hair salon. The car park on the aldi/ dan Murphy side is difficult to get around. The woolworths/ take away shops side is a bit better. Still has many empty shops waiting to be filled.
Good clean and dair sized shopping centre with shops like Wollies, Aldi and other cafes. Close the several bus stops to the city and other places, so it is handy to have public transport . The ambience is great and feels clean, bright and modern.
Not a lot of busiinisses in this shopping centre however, there are a little-bit everything normaly can be found in bigger shopping center. Just enough parking spots available, so if you see one, take it otherwise will be hard to turn back.
Nice since redevelopment. Parking is difficult at busier times, meaning you need to park in surrounding streets or drive around endlessly. Number of shops yet to be leased also, but the majors (Woolworths, ALDI and Dan Murphy's) are here.
Shopping centre is well maintained and the stores available are good and cover a wide variety of needs. However the car park layout is terrible and can create confusion and makes it difficult to park and leave with many blind spots.
It is a good shopping center. Parkings around McDonalds and the servo are crowded and risky. The center got aldi and woolies and a few good asian restaurents and snacks bar. Dan Murphy bottle shop is also located on the premises.
The shopping centre is spacious. The Younger Asian Grocery is there. I love it. I'm if European background but I live to cook Asian food. It's worth the visit. Be patient with the lovely staff as some have limited English …
The centre itself was recently rebuilt and modernised. It looks great and is clean and spacious but there are very few speciality shops. It's fine for general grocery shopping but there's no little stores to browse or discover.
Easy and available parking. With easy access to variety stores supermarkets food and smokes alcohol most of all the air conditioning is so good i could feel it on a 40 degree day across the street and in the open air car park .
Good selection of shops, including two supermarkets, a bakery, cafes, hairdresser and barber, newsagent and gift stores. There is also a Dan Murphy and Caltex service station. Next to Domino's Pizza a Cafe will be opening soon
Horrible layout for parking on the new side. New shops and facilities are good but navigating that tight carpark, nearly getting hit numerous times by people trying to make a simple turn with no room turns me off going back.
Terry White Chemist people are extremely friendly. As are the people in the coffee shop. Most people are walking around staring at their phones, yet the customer service at each store on visiting have been exceptional
Nice revamp, handy little baby change with breastfeeding chair. Great asian grocer next to wollies and wollies cafe does a reasonable coffee. Also has an Aldi and dan Murphys, bakery, asian take away and reject shop.
This shopping centre is fairly small however I prefer going here opposed to the bigger shopping centres as it has all the stores I need and is not ever crowded. Bonus too is that I don’t struggle to find a car park.
Unfortunately when Gillies Plains shopping centre was upgraded the rent must have been increased and a lot of areas are still vacant after a few years. Only go there for food shopping. Really no other attractions.
It’s a bit barren with multiple shopfronts not open. The stores that are there are mostly good. They usually have someone in the middle trying to get you to sign up for something or sell you roller shutters.
Love Kozy Breeze the staff are wonderful and the place is always clean and tidy. The food and coffee is great. Definitely my local Cafe. Thank you all for my lovely toasted sandwich and iced latte.
Deceived shopping centre Doesn't look that big But has Aldi and Woolworyhs Big stores Clean shopping Plenty of parking Also has an Asian grocery their Very large A few eateries and Maccas outside
Roomy and clean complex. Quite a few eateries and supermarkets & various shops. There's also an Asian grocery. I find the carpark has too many curves and blind spots, need to be very cautious!
Just one thing I observed. The frustration and I guess fatigue of staff members and patients . It's frustrating. People we all need to work to gather and get through covid Just a reminder!
It’s fine, the coles is pretty good and some decent lunch options for food around. Attracts some sketchy locals with mental health issues during the day but overall it’s quite low crime.
It feels a bit empty for what it is but it is a nice shop all in all. You have some nice variety for the small amount of shops there are. There is some nice fast food options though
Pretty basic but as more traders come in, it should be a great community 'local' for your after-work needs. The talent for parking a car isn't anywhere to be found though sadly.
There are many other places where you can buy stuff but this shopping centre has its peace and quiet that you’ll enjoy while shopping. Never gets overwhelmingly crowded ✨ …
It was awesome it didn't matter which shop I went to the staff were polite. Will definitely be going back. Great exercise for walking.♀️♀️♀️ …
Regularly go to this Shopping Centre- has a Woolworths, an Aldi, a Lone Star restaurant, and a number of other shops. Would probably be the number one centre I visit.
Love the clean and modern new layout. However the many different empty shops make it feel a little desolate. Car park is also a little difficult to navigate when busy
Typical Shopping Centre. Woolworths and Aldi Supermarkets. Specially Shops. Pharmacy. Dan Murphy Liquor Store. Mac Donald's Fast Food. Ample parking spaces.
Great variety compared to Ingle Farm shopping centre Aldi and Reject Shop. I shop here just for those two shops, because I am guaranteed to get what I want.
Visited Aldi and Woolworths and found all we wanted. Uncrowded and quick checkout experience. Many other shops if needed. Easy parking even at Christmas.
Overall good shopping center with Woolworth, aldi, bottle shops, restaurant and fast food around. Clean, good car park, petrol station available.
Nice little shopping centre the lack of indoor food court makes it nice and quaint. The complex has many food outlets and restaurants outside.
Only rated as one star because I only had a quick visit to Woolworths. Didn't notice what other shops were there so really can't comment .
Great to nip in and grab a few things. Good parking. Smells a bit strange everytime I go here in the entrance and mall. Like sewerage.
My first time here. A nice clean mall. A handy shopping shopping centre for my client to shop at. Very popular with people. …
Easy convenient parking, lots of useful shops, nice modern atmosphere, not crowded, had everything I needed, friendly staff …
Carpark is a pain and Woolworths and Dan Murphy's is on completely different ends of the shopping centre, pretty dumb.
Good shopping centre...needs to fill vacant shops...centre management need to review and lower pricing to fill centre
Good variety of shops. Including Woolworths and an Asian grocer. The car park, however, is a nightmare to navigate.
It has everything that you would need access to on a regular day for quick shopping!! Very convenient location too
Convenient for small shop. Seems to be more based around food. Plenty of options outside of the centre for food.
Always good. Woolworths lacked a little in their own prepared meals selections so had to go elsewhere for those.
Decent shopping centre with woolies and aldi. I only go there cause of the Aldi but overall, amazing experience.
This place always feels dingy idk why but other then that good ppl and friendly staff always willing to help
Elderly Mum loves going there every couple of weeks. Great availability of Eatery, Shops and supermarket.
Lonestar at Gilles Plains Great meal , very generous portions and wonderful service and staff
Great shopping. I am out the way just visiting family , and will shop there again soon
The shopping centre is OK but the experience in Woolworths left much to be desired.
It was clean & tidy . The set out is what is easy to find a shop your looking for .
Nice shopping centre. You can find Aldi woollies and reject shop all in one place.
Not bad for a small complex has a few vacant shops which could be utilised
Dans, woolies, aldi, a screaming crack head. What more could one want.
Stores and their staff = great. Really friendly Patrons, interesting
A great place to have a coffee and watch all the meth heads go by
No bakery other than the mundane Woolworths one that is below par
Go here often...used to be my local when I lived in Holden Hill.
Enjoyed the clean open spaces making shopping very pleasant
easy parking , convenient to work & always clean & tidy
Often stop here on the way home. Good variety of stores
Convenient. Has Everything. Really Great. …
Wide range of shop's, very clean and spacious. …
Everything all in one place. Clean and parking..
Great shopping with nice ambience. Enjoyed...
Good shopping centre but the carpark is bad.
A modest bustling centre. Plenty of parking
Easy to get around and not too many stores
Great variety of shops. Clean environment.
Lots of options. Excellent location too.
Plenty to offer at the shopping centre.
Clean and good selection of stores
They cater for all shopping needs
Good people store very coy
Too many empty shop....
