Great place to ride a bike. Paved path. Gets very busy on the weekends, heads up. They have a parking lot in the south end. They also have fire pits and picnic tables, they fill up fast during the summer months, especially in the evenings, and during the day and night in summer months during the weekend. You get the odd Karen on the paths, especially when your bike riding, and their walking. I just remind them, to mind their business, the path is for both BIKES and walkers. if your riding above the valley on the bike path, looking down into fish creek- along the Parkland route, you can take the path down to the restaurant and information centre. You can get some speed, be careful- walkers and hikers come out of nowhere.
Very nice renovations. We had only been here a few times before the renovations. They have washrooms at the parking lot now. We had a fire at the pits in the Area C day use area. There were maybe 4 sites in this area with fire pits and maybe 4 with just tables (no pits). The pits are off the main pathway so it's nice you don't feel like you have people constantly walking past your site. We'll be back again. By the time we left at 2pm on a Sunday the parking lot was packed, but the park is huge so it didn't feel that crowded in the park for how full the parking lot was. Plus it's winter and the parking lot was snow covered so harder to park properly.
I wish I had discovered this place before summer started. I would have visited this place every week for a picnic with friends and family. This is a day-use picnic area. And I like that most spots are private because of surrounding trees and bushes. Parking is easy. If you are bored eating at home, I suggest bring your dinner here and have a BBQ. It gets a little cold at night so dont forget to bring a warm sweater.
I absolutely love this park. It is a great place for an early morning walk with the dog. The only reason I have given it a 3 star, is that the bathrooms are open at random times in the morning. There are lots of people out before 6 am using the park. It would be nice to have an open bathroom when you get back to your car.
We are so lucky to have a provincial park such as Fish creek at our city, this place is absolutely beautiful. In this particular entrance there are pathways for bikes or people to walk through, there are washrooms, and an amphitheater. Around this area you may see tons of wild life and is a great location for pictures.
Great place. We love all the beautiful paths and the new bathrooms are a nice perk (especially if you happen to have a kid with you mid-potty training ). It’s not hard to forget you are in the middle of a busy city once you get into the trees. Also- TONS of parking. Well used but well maintained. …
A perfect place in the city to feel like you are in the country. The paths are mostly paved with a few paths to wander closer to Fish Creek to see the wildlife. Great for walking, biking, running, etc. Washrooms are clean and I felt safe there.
Only thing that would make this park better, would be a loud speakers playing the Doctor DC 5 star Canadian Podcast Award winning podcast 24/7 365. Wearing headphones takes away from the experience of the park and a loud speaker would fix that.
We love all parts of Fish Creek, used to walk our puppies there daily, now we have moved back to Texas it is one of the parts of Calgary we truly miss. No matter what the season Fish Creek is truly beautiful
We take the dogs here for walks it's really pretty and there is usually deer wondering around.
Restrooms
Nice washrooms, clean and well maintained.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are allowed on lease.
This is a nice quiet place at times to sit and meditate. As a person whom delivers life saving drugs to people I took 20 minutes to sit and meditate. The Lord has blessed us with these beautiful parks.
Perfect spot to visit when it's scorching hot. Lots of trees, wide paths close to the creek, not many bugs and lots of saskatoon berries this time of year.
Photographed a wedding in the Aspen structure. Great little spot for small event . Overall area is beautiful for a walk with yourself, friends or family.
Very nice area. The washroom building is brand new and there is lots of parking. I could have used a water fountain but didn't see one unfortunately.
Awesome place to do a long or a short easy hike/walk. Gravel or paved paths through the whole park. Lots of space for everyone
Love how you can be right in the city and feel like you’re out of town minus a couple vehicles you can hear.
Celebrated my sons birthday here. The place is nice with the renovated shade not far from the parking lot.
Beautiful park! Clean, with great facilities and beautiful paths.
Amazing place to walk/ ride/skate . Scenery is unreal
