Got back into reading after many years off and started getting my books from here a couple of months ago. Lovely little selection and have just ordered a book through the shop that arrived next day! Tom is also super helpful, has recommended me a couple of amazing books so far and seems to be able to judge exactly the type of book you’re after when you tell him your preferences. Thank you for the lovely customer service and friendly atmosphere, will not be buying my books anywhere else!

I went in to get a book for my friend's birthday and the owner not only was really friendly but he really knew his books and when I was waiting in the line, he would suggest other books to the people in front (and me) based on what you were going to buy. I wanted to order a book in and he was more than happy to do so and it was in the shop by the next day with very little packaging. If you want a good book with good customer service, then Gloucester Road Books is the way to go!

A wonderful bookshop that makes a great contribution to the fabulous shops on this section of Gloucester Road. Tom and Leah sell a lovely range of books and are very willing to share their knowledge and guide you towards something that you will enjoy. There is a small reading group and a lovely range of events with local and national (even occasionally international) authors. They are always willing to order something in and it is generally available very quickly.

A lovely little independent bookshop on Gloucester Road. The name gives away the location! I found it on the May 2023 Bristol Bookshop crawl which was a great way to find some new bookshops. There is an area with books for children and young adults. There is a good mix of fiction and nonfiction and I had difficulty in limiting myself to only buying one book. With so many eclectic independent shops, Gloucester Road is a great place for a wander and browse.

Love GRB! Such a great selection and Tom is so helpful with recommendations. If he hasn't read something, he's going to, and if he doesn't have something in the shop, he'll order it for you. Love the layout too, always great to see the amazing book covers on display. Plus it's a dog friendly bookshop which makes it a nice stop on the way home

Book heaven. This is the perfect addition to Glos Road and I am so happy it's opened. They have a perfect selection of books and the shopkeeper is very friendly and has gone out of his way to source the classics, the modern best sellers but also to supply small and independent printer's works which are great.

What a fabulous gem of a shop! Not only are the gorgeous books beautifully displayed, but Tom is fabulously knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. If the books aren't in stock, they can be ordered and are often available within a day or two. I love this local, independent alternative to the online giants.

Adore this lovely little bookshop, wonderful atmosphere and super friendly staff who take a genuine interest in what you're looking for. The selection is really good despite the shops small, cosy size. Some really good, tailored recommendations. Might be my favourite bookshop in Bristol!

After a haitus of 30 years, this wonderful little book shop has rekindled my love of reading. Tom is very helpfull Next day delivery at no charge. Why use Amazon when this is offered ?
