Ridicules!this is a ridicules place! today i went to the supermarket and park my car in front of the supermarket! i went to inside to buy my stuffs! since i was realize than i'm little bit hungry, at that moment i was thinking of to buy the breakfast first and come back and shopping so, i went to next door to buy my breakfast, its next to the parking lot! later on a guy came to tell me someone is towing my car right now! i was like what's going on, why they want to tow my car, i went to the parking lot and asked that guy why he trying to tow my car, he said you don't shopping here! i was like what! are you kidding me, i went to the supermarket already, but i was little hungry, that's the reason i went to the next door to buy my breakfast first and come back here to keep shopping! the guy said, the rule was changed, customer can't park the car here if they come out from the supermarket! and the guy give a receipt for TOWING FEE , the fine is $136, and i tried to explain the guy again, i was shopping inside of supermarket. but he didn't listening! is that the way the onwer of the supermarket try to treat the customers who REALLY want to shop here? So,disappoint, im not shopping here anymore! actual in the flushing! there is no one of onwer of supermarket will treat REALLY CUSTOMERS like this!
I often shop in here because it is close to my house, even the environment is not that clean, sometimes the staff are rude and the food are not that fresh(check the expiration day before you check out), but I am okay, because I only buy something small. However, the customer service is worst ever. I bought a snack which was not expired but got moldy inside, called a day before to let them be aware I will be go to store next day, and the call been pick up after I called 5 times, FIVE TIMES! No sorry, no nothing. Okay, the next day I went, the lady at the customer service was rude, very impolite point at me told me get something exchange. I was like okay, I don’t want to argue, just want to get out of here as soon as possible. But the lady pretending she was busy and organizing counter, does not want to check-out, and using side-eye “checking”me, what the heck!!??There literally has no one stand by the counter! Ridiculous!!!
Good City is one of my most frequented Chinese supermarkets. Been here probably like a zillion times during the last 20 years. Decent parking although it gets super crowded during weekends since everyone and their mothers are out shopping. Good varieties especially their instant noodles. That's my favorite item to buy. Fruits and seafood are solid. Inside is fairly clean. Other reviewers complaining about the staff not being friendly lol. Most Chinese stores/restaurants are not friendly. They're not gonna greet you or say thank you or place your change down nicely. But guess what? The prices are always super cheap and service is fast! Every true Asian (especially Chinese) person knows this.
Definitely a go-to supermarket if you're Chinese otherwise you are in quite a frenzy. Employees rarely speak English to you and when they do, you probably can't comprehend it. Otherwise, the supermarket is hugely filled with various 'goodies', but sadly it's always crowded..and I mean very crowded. Prices vary often, as sometimes it's cheap and sometimes it's high. Finding parking here is also a challenge, as there are limited parking spots therefore you might have to find a different location to park and walk to the supermarket that way (don't go on Weekends if you want a chance at parking).
I used to shop at this supermarket when I needed something I couldn’t buy in regular supermarket. Last time I had a problem with item and wanted to exchange but I just give up because I couldn’t find anybody who speaks English and second when I tried to explain what I want the cashier and manager were very rude. It’s not chip store to compare to other Asian markets but the people alt like they giving items free. They have no respect for customers who might be doesn’t speak Chinese. I will never go to this place again and do not recommend. It’s seams the store only for Chinese speaking people.
One day,I bought a half gallon Horizon 2% fat milk & other groceries. then walked 2 minutes back home, put it in the refrigerator. next day morning, I opened it, the milk smells stink. The refrigerator is fine. I called this supermarket, coz I don’t have the receipt , so I told them I paid with a credit card and also bought other things at the same time, it’s easy to find out . But they don’t want to check it. They just said: no receipt, no return…no receipt, no return. Be Careful any dairy products you bought from them
Horrible. Specially the seafood section. They don't like to serve foreigners. Workers at that section completely ignores people like me who shops there all the time. They completely ignore me when I buy fish or other seafood that I want to purchase. Those workers at the seafood section are racist against any one that isn't Chinese. They always give me a hard time. Even when there is no customers around. They pretent to not see you or they walk away from another direction to avoid you.
The STAFF are MEAN to non Chines Speaking People. They tend to reap them all the time. if you give them coins as part of your payment they will keep picking up your coins not giving you a chance to count your coins. They will CURSE you in their OWN LANGUAGE. The fruits and vegetables most of the time are longer fresh. They also try to give you a price of a BEEF for a PORK. If you are not CHINESE or DONT KNOW TO TALK CHINESE be careful with this place it not for every one.
Extremely bad experience. I can’t believe the attitude of the staff who buy raw meat in the supermarket is so bad. I don’t know if it’s because we are women. The attitude is very bad. When I called the manager to complain to him, the manager’s attitude was also very bad and said that it would be resolved internally and no apologize and explain!!! I spend money to buy things, I need basic respect, not threats from supermarket employees Never corm again.
I been going to this Supermarket for years. Just recently I found out they been cheating customers. So I went there last time to buy live lobster, the lobsters was in the water tank, so the staff took them out with the water and put them in the heavy brown bag, then them weight & charge it like that. so the water plus the heavy brown bag that weights at least like 3 oz, so I actually paid $1 extra. That's not honest and it's cheating. Be aware...
I read reviews before visiting so I had an idea of what to expect. I asked no one any questions. I came with a list of a few items. I went in and wandered about till I found what I was looking for...paid for items and left. No one spoke to me or acknowledged my presence except for the cashier and she only said "debit." Folk seemed a little surprised that I was even there. I may go back until I find a more friendly space.
This is absolutely the worst market, irrespective of ethnic food availability, that there is in Queens. From the horrible customer service to the lack of any English ability whatsoever, this market is nasty, disgusting, and a far cry from normal standards of hygiene. I highly recommend that the new York city Department of Health shut this place down permanently— an empty parking lot would be more useful.
This Asian market is huge! They carry a really large selection of the fruits and vegetables. The quality, freshest and variety of products would put the generic US supermarkets to shame. I am looking at you ShopRight, Acme, Pathmark, etc. Butcher shop - check! Fishmonger-check! Hard-to-find Asian centric products - check! Prices are down to earth as well! My only wish was to have one closer to home.
The guys that clean and cut the fish are extremely rude. They do not want to listen to the customers. They did a terrible job cutting my fish and they will try to sell you as much as they can even if you don’t want it. I understand that this is a Chinese supermarket but this is America, non Chinese customers are almost not welcome because the employees refuse to speak English on multiple occasions.
If you're ever in New York City and Flushing New York. You have to shop at this Supermarket everything is good and pricey is not to complain about. Give it a try what are you waiting for nearby stores everywhere cheap prices good prices on everything cannot complain especially this Supermarket it is the best to shop fresh for everything. If you ask me this is where I come everytime I'm in Flushing.
I shopped there, and employees don't take care of every customer. The order is everyone shopping on the lane when I purchase meats. I am first on the lane waiting for them, and they didn't pay attention, and I left me only when others bought the meats. No one services me. They are yelling at me when I ask them why don't they serve me! Why do I cost my money to get food at the yelling supermarket?
The best place to buy Asian food and delicacies. My fish, crabs, oysters, clams. Fresh meats and vegetables. Milk and eggs. Frozen seafood dumplings and other things for dinner. Chinese snacks . Authentic Chinese sauces and spices. Fresh and bottled ginseng. Noodles rice and so much more. Kitchen gadgets in cookware. The best Chinese supermarket on Kissena boulevard near Kissena Park.
The have fruits, vegetables, fish, meat n poultry are fresh. A very convenience supermarket to shop and go. Available parking, service is ok. The salmon fish something is not fresh and the staff are very rude, not helpful. The cashier don't speak or understand English. Kind of over price compare to other store in the area. The place sometimes is dirty and the producce are not fresh.
Prices here are high because it’s the only Chinese supermarket within a 1-2 mile radius. Fresh fish and meats selection. For produce...not really. Needed shallots but in every bundle, at least 1/3 was rotten. Great selection of sauces for any Asian, especially Chinese, recipe(light, dark soya sauce) If you’re looking for something, just show a photo of it or google translate.
The big apples I bought the other day look exquisite. Today, I shared one with my husband and I had two bites. Omg the dry dan tasted like charcoal and I poured it but my husband ate half of it and he had itchy ears and lips and a hoarse voice. It took him 2 hours to feel better. What a poisonous apple! The quality of Gold City supermarket is getting worse and worse!
Very good supermarket for Asian people.live fish and all the vegetables are class a quality .over u can get lots of need things there as well. They deserve rating 5 !! But I give 4 only because the people work there don’t understand English well. So to manager or the people of managing should keep someone there who understand English well and ca. Help people.
The vegetables are so fresh and clean! I like coming here to pick up some groceries really quickly to cook within the same hour. I've never interacted with the workers that cut fish or the butchers so I can neither confirm or deny whether or not they treat customers rudely like other reviews say, but from my own experience, this market is quite nice.
Now things are back to "new normal" - no temp check, no mask or social distancing requirements. Some people are still wearing masks though. They did do a decent job doing the COVID 19 safety measure, including temperature check, requiring face mask, providing gloves and social distancing. Makes shopping more carefree than most places.
Great market for quality vegetables at a low price. No organic section. Fish market seems ify but I've seen many customers buying fresh fish. Great selection of other native food items. If you are looking for an american style market this is not for you. If you are familiar with outdoor markets in Asia similar just indoors.
A good overall supermarket. There's enough English so that if you don't speak/read the various Chinese dialects, you should be okay. The butchers can cut some fresh meat but I was only able to ask for the ground beef since I can't really communicate with them personally. Not a knock on the place.
Really reasonably priced and to-go dim sum with all the favorites and Chinese roasted meats. Their roast duck is a bit pricier than other places but don't let that discourage you. I think they do it exceptionally and their ducks have more meat. Support independent businesses!!
Would give 0 if possible these people are scam artists make you purchase the live seafood before they kill it and then they pretend to not speak English. store policy says store credit in these circumstances however they do not follow what is state on their own receipts
High prices, cashiers will deliberately over charge you if you're not paying attention. Produce is fresh if you're there on a good day. Crowded parking lot, don't drive your nice car here. I once saw a lady force herself into a parking spot that was too small for her.
The first Chinese supermarket in flushing with a free open parking lot, it is still standing alive and I may not be so well. It inherit the typical Chinese dirtiness and smelliness. However it sells the sports drink from Taiwan I like. So I go from time to time.
Should be expired face, because there is no production date, open smell a little sour! I tried to cook it. It tastes like soda flour. Dare not eat... All in the trash can! Why vegetable fruit not fresh calculate. Still have expired thing to exist! ?
As a Mandarin speaking customer, this place is legit. It's a solid Chinese market. If you don't speak the language you're SOL but for me this place is great. Prices are low. Food is fresh. They have all the niche items. What else can you ask for?
I forget my wallet there and no one inside help me in no way to try get it back I lost everything . I try calling and no answer. I went back to talk to a supervisor and everyone telling me they don't no who is the supervisor or the one in charge.
A local super market that caters to the Asian communities, especially the Chinese. They have fresh fruits, vegetables, live seafood, butcher shop, dried goods, frozen foods, snacks, beverages, rice etc. A one stop center for grocery shopping.
Price is a bit higher to supermarkets in downtown Flushing, but still acceptable. This place takes Apple Pay with American Express Cards, which is a plus because most Asian supermarkets in Flushing don't take American Express or Apple Pay.
A little messy, but have what you need. They take temperature checks now, but it would be more effective if they ensure that aisles have arrowed directions and work customer traffic to enable customer's to effectively social distance.
Free parking is a huge perk in flushing. Great selection of seafood, meats, and veggies. Wide spacing for social distancing. But prices tend to be higher for certain things. Other stores nearby to buy food and coffee before leaving.
If you don't buy something here, please don't park in the parking lot here, because they have people watching and will tow your car away if you don't go in and make a purchase, things are a little expensive and the service is so-so
As a grocery store this is the best for shopping but their customer service at the register is very poor cause they don’t greet with customer very well even if you say HI,HELLO,or HAVE A GOOD DAY, but the answer is NO RESPONSE☹️
Great Asian market. Produce is very good but no organic options. The selection overall is quite good. The parking situation is the worst part, as the lot is undersized, shared, and there is always a lot of cars needing to park.
A lot of their food is about to expire. Some of the chickens and ducks are smelly and still sold. A supermarket where the manager and cashiers have a very bad attitude, and where the items stink and the returns are dirty.
Well well well, finally we find an Asian supermarket where it offers "true" Chinese grocery. Yes, there are a few Asian market near where we live in South Florida, but they don't have a lot of selection to choose from.
The only real market near Booth Memorial and the neighborhood. Prices are a bit higher than Main St. But they have a busy parking lot and you can find parking around. Get the G-Fuel drinks for $1.49 + tax and deposit.
Gold City Supermarket is the best place to purchase seafood in Flushing, Queens. I love their salmon and snapper selection and their vegetables such as bok choy are always fresh. The prices are extremely affordable.
Extremely chaotic supermarket. Good selection of Asian goods. Customers were grabbing the fish with their bare hands. They should be using gloves or asking the staff to help. Good luck on finding a parking space.
The Place has variety of asian (chinese) food (canned and packet), Fresh vegetable and Fresh Fish for low prices. Employees don't speak english but someone will assist you. Busy place but car parking available.
Terrible experience shop in gold city supermarket ,the cashier so meant impatient, They cursed and even tried to fight with us.I am so sad.I tried to call the number listed in the google, but no one answer.
The vegetables and fruits are rarely ever fresh. I been to multiple Chinese supermarkets and this is the closest one to my house but it’s always been my last choice, best for dry goods in my opinion.
I only shopped in the produce section, but I liked what I saw. The selection was great and all the vegetables looked delicious. I came in for just one thing and left with two very full shopping bags.
Personally everyone needs to calm down about the Chinese speaking situation it’s a Chinese supermarket why does everyone expect Chinese employees to be able to speak English its not the only language
Rude staff, unhygienic place, and too crowded. Right when you enter you come across the fish, frog, and snake sections which stinks really bad. The staff talk only Chinese, and are very rude. …
This supermarket sells fresh food, but the foods may be a bit overpriced. The salmon is very fresh and awesome for only a buck. But, I think that you should go to New World Malls supermarket.
Many of those workers there are nasty. They don't allow customers to ask questions. They would just ignore you or got very annoyed at you for bothering them with even one question.
Looked fine. Strong smell of meat and fish as you enter the store. Pretty decent sized store with lot of fresh produce, pots and pans and oriental stuff. Prices appeared decent.
This supermarket is close to where I live! I can just walk from my home to this supermarket sometimes as my exercise in the morning only on the weather that is not very cold!
excellent supermarket. A lot of products from asian. fresh produces fresh seafood live fish and exotic foods i have never seen too. great parking lot and free too. i love it
Please don't buy fish from here. They are selling rotten fish. I went back and complained they act like they don't speak English and no refund don't waste your money
Great produce selection, fruit, fish and seafood and Asian style meats and foodstuffs. Got to have this supermarket on my short list of places to shop for the best!
typical Chinese supermarket. But the price here is usually a little bit higher than those supermarket around main street area. But its own parking lots is big plus!
Clean, affordable, fresh . Although there is a LANGUAGE barrier, the posted signs, is in clear & easy to read English. I recommend, to the West Indian communities.
Though they have a large parking lot it can be quite a pickle finding a space since this place is so popular. Good picks: sacks of brown rice, Chinese vegetables.
It's convenient since I live close by, but the parking is horrendous. There's just too many people. The selection at the supermarket is somewhat limited at times.
It's a Chinese supermarket. It has fresh fruits and vegetables. And if your looking for fresh seafood or live fish or crab, you've come to the right place. …
This supermarket carries the freshest seafood and vegetables! I have been shopping here since a moved to Flushing over a year ago and I am never disappointed.
Fresh, convenient and has a parking lot. It'd be better if the price is easy on us; however, their service is good and helpful, and the place is really clean
Parking lot is always crowded; cars goes in and out actually cause problems on street traffic. Supermarket itself is just a traditional Asian market.
If You know the cashier then u don’t have to line . Even u told him to lane up and the cashier give u attitude. What a sad little life she must have.
Stopped in here before dinner (next door) to do a little grocery shopping. Got everything on my list and thensome of course. Prices are reasonable.
Typical Chinese style supermarket. Parking at the lot can get hectic at times. The meat dept is not very responsive or they don't work efficiently.
Great Chinese Supermarket. Wide selection of fresh seafood that is very well priced. Large variety of Chinese, Japanese and Korean grocery items.
It carries common grocery items which are widely available anywhere else. The sanitation issue should be your major concern, it is rather filthy.
Chinese supermarket. Planty of fresh seafood, specially we go for Salmon and shrimp. Also, very good for fresh veggies. Price is reasonable.
There was a line but moved fast. They check temperature of ppl which other markets dont. Good sales this week but their thai section sucks
Very comprehensive Chinese supermarket. Well run, lots of nice fresh produce, meat and fish. Wider aisles than many of their competitors.
I commend them for doing temperature checks and providing gloves to every customer at the door. Makes me feel a little safer going there.
Bought a pomelo on 11/05/23 for $2.48 cheap, then found out why it was so cheap on 11/7. NEVER think you can EVER get a deal from them!
If you look for Asian veggies or foods, this is the place. Decent prices. Free parking but lot is very crowded and full at busy hours.
A bit of a walk for me, but I go to get items not found at other, i.e. panda leaves that are whole and not cut like most places sell.
Nice large store beautiful produce, if only the employees spoke English..but still a great place to shop if you know what you want.
The fruit vegetables are fantastic but the people that work there suck. They always say they don't speak English so they don't help
Not a very clean place. But many stuff to choose from. Some food is close to expiration date so please be careful when choosing!
The closest Asian Supermarket from my , unfortunately they don't have Indonesian products anymore which they used to have. …
Can get really crowded on the weekends but overall a great place to buy fresh fish and fruits. Parking can be a bit of a pain.
Some food are fresh, today I brought a ice cream cone, IT WAS EXPIRED!!! The workers are friendly but most of the time, RUDE.
Good selection of everything. A little expensive compared to other Chinese supermarket in the area. Parking spaces available.
Like the fresh fruit here, other than a little messy the seafood is very fresh as well and most importantly parking lot
It used to be much cleaner. I see garbage on floor right after entering in. Veggies are still fresh and good priced.
It is a good size Chinese supermarket with large selection of fresh seafood, butcher, vegetable, dry food and goods.
It's OK. It's a local Chinese market. The meat, fish and produce are good. Fast turnover means fresher products.
The place has great variety of Asian food for low prices. There are tons of tea varieties for 3 cents a bag :)
Good variety but prices are higher than stores in Main St/Kissena Blvd area because lack of competition
The seafood and vegetables are fresh. It is a trek going here though but better than the local market.
In flushing, any parking space is blessing. This market has a parking lot that's not overly crowded.
Abundance of fruits and vegetables at bargain prices. Gets packed quick especially the parking lot.
The cashier number 4 has a very very bad heart! Very mean! She is a crazy woman!not kindly person!
Just love the fresh and the wide variety of seafood ,vegetables and Asian goods they have on hand
Very nice asian produce selection!!!! And any any thing else your asian taste buds may crave!
Perfect covid 19 protection They have gloves and sanitizer enforcement and gave us free one.
Clean. Temperature taken at door and gloves provided. Good variety of food. Friendly staff.
Great selection of fresh products and sea food! Quick service! Nice prices! …
Good luck parking on weekends. But if lucky enough, the produce and seafood are excellent.
