I'd passed by this bakery dozens of times and never went in until today. I was looking for lunch and was initially very happy choosing the bacon, cheese and tomato bun (smelled like pizza) and a chicken hotdog roll. For dessert I grabbed a cinnamon and sugar donut. I was sadly disappointed in the bun and roll. Although they didn't taste stale, in fact, they didn't taste like a whole lot of anything but bread, they were very hard and the hotdog was terrible. I've had better 2 day-old leftovers. My lips and face and gums got scratched and swollen from trying eat them. I didn't finish either one. The only saving grace was the donut. I was able to eat it without injury and it tasted as though it may have been made this morning. At the register, I used my debit card. The merchant didn't mention anything about a convenience fee and instead, added it to my total before entering the amount into the machine. I would report them to Interac but silly me didn't grab my receipt. Overall, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. I will not be returning.

My favourite breakfast/coffee cafe and bakery in the bank street area. This local cash and debit only spot is run by the nicest Cantonese/Vietnamese couple, who make the freshest food to order. I've tried their breakfast wraps, banh mi, and BLT sandwiches so far, and they are better than anything in the area because of the homemade sandwich bread. Perfectly toasty, and the hot items in the sandwich are fried to order. They are a tad slow with making the food, but to be expected. They are also the cheapest in the area, with a sandwich running about $4.75 before tax and tips. Their hot foods, such as the pho, sausage rolls, spring rolls, and meat pies are all worth trying hot! The veggie and meat steam bun is good too, and their iced Vietnamese coffee as well. They have stir fries for under $10 as well, really looking forward to trying those.

Delicious cookies and egg buns. I haven't tried anything else yet but they are super yummy!!! Found this place thru Facebook ads for the masks they're making. . Great as well. Sturdy hand made and sealed..I believe it was 5$ preferred each. Unlike most shops now adays, with the large crowds of homeless or less fortunate people, I've been twice and each time they not only allowed them to be in their store, but were kind to them and took time to speak to them I don't see alot of places do that usually someone looks homeless and they're asked to leave .. the woman who served me both times was kind and not rude at all.. during this tough times being kind goes a lonng way ..♡♡♡♡

We decided we wanted a fresh loaf of bread sort of late in the afternoon on a Saturday and all the trendy spots (Art-Is-In, Bread & Sons, Bread by Us) were closed or sold out. Turns out that was great news, as otherwise we might not have stopped by Golden Baguette. They still had lots of fresh (even warm!) loaves available, in addition to tasty looking cookies and pastries. A baguette was $2.25 and most loaves looked like they were around $2.50, really reasonable. The staff was super friendly, and I learned that they also have some broadly Chinese/Vietnamese take-out available, too. And the baguette was very nice! A great little spot that I'm sure we'll be back to.

This is my favourite sandwich spot, I have had their golden baguette sandwich which I love and their Bahn mi which I wouldn’t recommend if you’re not a fan of liver since it has a liver pate. I ordered though Uber eats and my only complaint is that the container might be a bit small for the soup since there doesn’t seem to much broth just noodles. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is amazing, not too sweet unlike others I’ve tried. Their pork steam buns are also really good. Overall it’s great, especially for the price and good size portions as well.

Walked by this bakery the other day and decided to stop in today. Great decision, their Vietnamese sub (Banh Mi) was on point. Much better than most Banh Mi shops you can get around Ottawa. Everything was made to order and served with a toasted baguette, fresh vegetables with a nice base layer of Vietnamese pate. Will have to try the other sandwiches next time and their noodle dishes. The prices are amazing, it should really cost more with the current food prices in Canada at the moment.

I come here when I get the chance to and can always know the bakery section will make my day a lot better! The cookies are iced perfectly and there are the cutest halloween cookies I’ve ever seen, same with the pokémon and cat cookies! Also the egg bread is the best bread I’ve ever had, same with the buns, croissants, donuts and treats! Affordable prices, lots of selection, delicious hot meals and soups aswell and very kind owners :)

I go here about once per week and have noticed this place has a regular following of customers whom the staff recognize when they come in, which is always a good sign for a business. Good selection of bread and some Chinese/Vietnamese takeout. Everything is very reasonably priced. I bought a loaf of whole wheat bread and a supper-sized portion of black bean chicken for about $8.00 total. PS: They only take cash.

This place is the hidden gem with a 5 star qualities of buns and pastries. And talk about their so much affordable price! Their buns are really soft and chewy, I like their chocolate croissant. Tbh there’s no items I dislike in this shop. I love their cookies too! Their Christmas cookies were so cute and delicious I fully support this local business!

Randomly stumbled upon Golden Baguette on Bank street. We tried their Bulgogi Sandwich and Vietnamese Sandwich which was made fresh on the spot. The baguette was one of the highlights as it was very soft and fresh! We've went back twice since to have the sandwiches. Staff was also very polite. Would come back to try other things on the menu! :)

Bought three items here: All of them sandwiches and Im no flower to pain or anything but bread was beyond stale so badly it hurt my gums and roof of mouth to eat any of all three purchased items. It was like bread was left out three days. Ordered through uber eats and can't get refund so I wont be coming back.

Not only is this a nice little bakery downtown, they also serve take-out Asian cuisine. I wasn't a fan of the Pad Thai, but the Shanghai Noodle dish is my default go-to for a quick and easy lunch downtown. The prices are lower than anything else I've seen downtown. Be aware that they only take cash.

  • Tris Quel

I love coming here for a morning muffin and coffee for only 3.50. It’s also a combination of a Chinese takeout place and conventional bakery with many vegetarian options. Their sandwiches are also better than Subway. Stirfries and spring rolls are cheap and delicious as well!

  • Nicolas P.

Wonderful place offering a full variety of baked stuff to go! Made by hand, with Vietnamese flavours and spirit, great ice and hot coffee. Lacking a small table for a customer or couple to sit, sip and relax for five minutes, but otherwise it’s a place that one must visit!

  • David Soegiarto

for such an unassuming place, their baked goodies are top notch. sausage bun is amazing and the tarts are great. however, they're not peanut free, and only accept debit (with a fee) and cash. didn't know they got takeout too! (must order in advance)

  • Emma Turner

Best coffee in the city combined with the cheapest prices. They also have amazing fresh baked bread and baked goods. Their food looks good and is also super cheap, but I've never yet tried it. Everyone should make this their new bakery stop !

  • Gerb Ding

Excellent food!! The tarts weren't my favourite but everything else was excellent! The owner is super nice! I need to try thier hot food as I have only had baked goods and a banh mi (which was excellent!!). Heads up, cash or debit only.

  • Cameron Ho

Fresh bread in a friendly and local atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and the bulgogi sandwich I had was amazing! The baguette was great with the hot bulgogi and fresh vegetables. Will definitely be back to try more on their menu.

Can across this bakery today. Got a turkey sandwich. It was prepared fresh on the spot and the employees were very sweet. I will definitely be returning! They also have stir fry and noodle dishes that I plan to try for next time!

  • janet mcparland

Really great spot. Amazing Viet iced coffee, fresh and tasty sandwiches/buns/spring rolls (my favourite is the pork or veggie steam bum), and awesome bread/pastries options. Great value for $ and great people running the place!

  • Kris Duhaime

A little shop with a small slection of cute pastries. Some are okay and others are way off. I enjoyed their ham & cheese bun but the apple tartelette lacked in taste & spice. There is better & fresher in Town.

  • Chantal Beauregard

I just purchased a Bran chocolate chip muffin from this Bakery. It was a decent size for only $1.50. Unfortunately the muffin itself was quite dry and crumbly and only had like five chocolate chips on top.

  • Natasha Macdonald

My favorite spot to get some fresh won ton soup!! They make fresh bread, pastries, great sandwiches, soups and a variety of asain dishes for a great price. Always friendly …

  • christina rousse

Nous sommes allés se chercher à déjeuner. Propriétaires très sympathiques. Café vietnamien très bon et nous avons pris un bagel oeuf, fromage et bacon. Ça goûtait le fait maison.

  • Stephanie Joyal

Great little bakery. There is always a great selection, from bread to tarts to cookies. Love the sourdough and the mini pies and the prices are great. Very friendly owners!

  • Mehreen Khan

The baked goods were fine but the take out was disgusting. I bought the pad thai and threw it away after taking a bite - it was mushy and had a smell. Waste of money

  • Feroz Syed

Wonderful place, very nice owners, in a cozy homey space. The Vietnamese iced coffee is absolutely amaaaazing, and the quality of the food is always excellent!

  • Natalija Rajic

My favorite downtown bakery. The owners are so friendly, always willing to go that extra mile to make you happy. Love their baguette, great lunch choices too.

One of my favourite places to get lunch or breakfast. Everything I've tried from here has been amazing, the prices are great, and the staff are friendly.

  • Laura Lefebvre

What an amazing Bakery! 10/10 would recommend. Not only do they have tasty treats and takeout, the staff are so kind and friendly!

  • Martin Paquette

Awesome pastries. Check out the display that's open to the street before walking in. They put allot of effort in what they do!

  • Gordon Gifford

A lot of selection of snack buns in a Japanese style, as well some very lovely desserts. Great prices eat for less than $3-4.
