For government run organizations, low quality customer service should be a rarity. When it comes the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission (MLCC), customer service is a hit or miss proposition at best. My story I walk into the Grant Ave Liquor Commission store in the Grant Park Shopping Centre and asked if they have Crown Royal Northern Harvest in stock – I have been looking for it for what seems like most of a year now. To my surprise the gal at the front says yes, they have it. I went down to the shelves to look around and nothing. So I go looking for a staff member to ask if you have any stock. The person I ask slides away saying she doesn’t know what I am talking about while a brassy haired middle aged female employee with a clipboard that appears to act somewhat like a manager says “…if we had it - it would be on the shelf! So we don’t have any …. At least that’s how I feel about it …” and makes zero effort to answer another question while walking away as if I was now invisible. Luckily a young chap named Peter intercepts the conversation and actually goes back into the storeroom to check on stock. To my delight sure enough they have a whole case. Yes! Imagine my glee and disgust at the customer service total fail that is then a win. What form of manager makes the comment “…if we had it, it would be on the shelf” and that’s inventory accuracy because it’s how she feels about it? When the hell did kinesthetic override logic and the ability to count inventory? I pray one day that stupidity is painful and their union along with management finally dumps her as a liability. Face it – MLCC employees don’t get fired for incompetence, stupidity, or any other factor that would find them become unemployed in the real world. So again – hat’s off to Peter and the gal the front that proved to be the customer service balancing factor and then some for the idiot "manager". BTW I have never seen such an over staffed MLCC before.

Terrible how I drove across town to this liquor mart and they had no stock as indicated on their website. This strike is awful already... PRIVATIZE this joke of a business model. My uncle works for MLLC (and so, I know first hand), how much money they are losing due to their bloated management salaries. A MLLC manager makes nearly $70,000 a year! Why? The Government of Saskatchewan transitioned away from liquor sales to the private sector due to year over year declines in net revenue. We need to do the same thing. Manitoba government has to go the same route and get out of the business of selling liquor. MLLC makes no profit from selling it, and this strike has been totally ridiculous for the citizens and for visitors here this summer. So AWFUL.

Being ID'd to buy a gift card. It's a piece of plastic with money on it. It's your job to ID the person who USES the gift card. Very angry and upset. I'm a good person and use the Manitoba Mutts Air miles number so that they can get points when I buy alcohol. The woman at the counter today 22NOV19 REFUSED to take the Air miles number before seeing my ID. You would think that the employees of Grant Park Liquor Mart would be a little nicer to their PAYING customers. As long as you get my ID before you scan the alcohol, and payment, there should be NO ISSUE giving my Air miles card first. I have never had an issue giving my Air miles card first prior to today; and I buy alcohol every weekend. Very poor customer service.

So, I go to the Liquor Mart at Grant Park Mall on a fairly regular basis. I think it’s their flagship store where you can find various beer/wine/liquor products that you can’t find elsewhere in the city. The store itself is quite large with an area for high end and expensive products. The staff are friendly and seem pretty knowledgeable. They have a growler bar. They actually have a great selection of beers with some brands that you can get at other locations (e.g., Chimay). They also are open pretty late, even though they are in a mall, so if you hit up a movie at Landmark Cinemas, you can generally pop by afterwards to pick up wine, beer, etc. making this a convenient trip.

The pride of Manitoba Liquor sales locations, I'm told that this location is one of the largest (if not the largest) in Manitoba. From a $35,000 bottle of Scotch to the tried and true Alberta Premium Whiskey (blech!), you can find just about any libation to wet your whistle or share with others (responsibility, of course). This is not your normal Liquor Mart!! If you want to enjoy a better shopping experience, take a trip here...and if you plan your visit right, you may be able to participate in some free sampling!

Asked one person for a particular bottle. Had no idea. He went and asked 3 other people. They didn't know. Showed them the picture and the Facebook page. Told me to keep checking back as they had no idea. Thought this was the place for all the newest greatest stuff! Low and behold it was in stores 2 weeks later. Went and bought it at the Dakota store as they were able to tell me a day it would be there.

Best liquor store in all of Winnipeg. Great for mixologists or cocktail enthusiasts who are looking for a specific brand or liqueur. Would rather have them available only here than not at all, so it's worth the drive wherever you live in the city if you're looking for a specific item (such as maraschino liqueur, plymouth gin, niche items like that).

This location is wonderful, the selection is very good and the layout is well designed a spacious. There are often free tasting when new products come in. Many of the regularly stocked items are available for you to try before purchasing. They also host a number of classes and special events at this store.

Looking for that special bottle of wine, this is the place to find it. Buy the case when you find you like it, saves you from disappointment of price increase or out of stock items. The clerks here are exceptional and offer you fantastic service in choosing product or pairing with foods. Enjoy!

Best selection of spirits in Winnipeg. This location offers many high-end options for the most discerning connoisseur. The location also boasts an education + training facility in-house, and frequently offers courses and seminars. Lots of parking, easy to access, friendly and helpful staff.

After discovering that an employee was badly injured because of a disgruntled customer, I now understand why the seemingly excessive security at the entranceway. Hopefully this will deter this from happening in the future. Perhaps the high prices might also be part of the problem.

The cashier was wearing blue gloves and a mask. They asked if I needed help with carrying out my large purchase. I said yes, then the woman they brought to help me complained that I should bring my car closer next time. That's customer service when the government runs a business.

Only liquor Mart in Winnipeg that offers wine tasting classes. My wife and I attended one the other night (wine and cheese of California). Was a little disappointed that the cheese served was local and not from California, but we still had a great time.

Just left, guy working the doors on Saturday evening, January 14th at 7pm was so awful. Caused a huge backup and was asking people for their birthdates, I have never seen someone take such an easy job and make it seem so difficult. Great otherwise!!

Amazing selection (argueably the best in the city) and friendly staff. Great selection of beer and coolers in the fridge at the back and a small selection of refrigerated items at the till. Growler bar with knowledgeable staff which is a huge plus!

It's a little less convenient than a lc that isnt in a mall but the remodel they did made the store look very nice. I've never had an issue with finding what I was looking for and theres always a happy friendly person to assist you if need be.

Best Liquor Mart in the city, hands down. They have the largest selection and there are always lots of samples. They also have classrooms and offer wine tastings etc. Looks beautiful inside. Well staffed and a lovely location overall.

This is one of the best locations, they have everything! I've often gone to the one on Pembina and they will be out of all kinds of stuff and when I ask them to look up what location has it, they always say Grant Park.

Love this LC. Because it's in the mall you don't have to wait outside in the frigid Winterpeg weather. Love the new security entrances courtesy of the government. Tons of product, including a VIP exclusive section.

I love this LC, I have to go here often to purchase large amounts of liquor for work, and they are always so very helpful if I can’t find a certain item, and always insist on helping me to my car. Great staff!

The government has done a fantastic job with making liquor stores and casinos look like they were private corporations. Very nice and clean. Front line staff seem to be short on pay and benefits regrettably.

Got ID'd twice while I was here. I should NOT be ID'd more than once. Do it at the beginning when I come in or at the end at the cash. Your choice but it's one or the other. Unprofessional

Got a great wine run at Grant Park Liquor Mart. Their selection is great! Stock up on my red, white and Rosé at sale prices and also got a great Air Miles load!! Next run... Beer!! Lol!

Came in to pick up camping "supplies" . Staff was helpful and friendly in helping us find a couple items. Check out personnel packed everything into one box very well . Will return.

Good location and able to quickly purchase. It’s only a problem with kids. They need to allow kids in the store. In the US most family grocery stores sell wine and beer.

Staff are very helpful. We can find some limited edition liquor (scotch, whiskey, etc) in this store. Also as expensive as $40,000 (forty thousand) liquor can be found.
