"The HEB Market downtown is the place to go if you are looking for a quick snack, unique ready to heat meals or a bottle of wine! (Huge selection of wine at all price points!) Everything here screams Fresh! you wont find everything here, but if you are looking for something different, this is the place! They offer an extensive selection of prepared meals, ready to eat sandwiches, fruit, cheese, nuts, beer, wine, fresh sushi, salad dressings, cooking oils, chips, dips and beverages"

Markets and gas stations are sparse in this part of downtown, so this is an awesome addition to the area. Don’t think of this as just a grocery store. Really. It’s also a cool place to hangout and enjoy a brew and lunch/dinner on the patio. It’s not a full size HEB, mind you, but they do stock a decent amount of groceries. They just don’t have 10 different brands of each item like the full-size ones do. It’s also a great place for a quick and inexpensive lunch. They have plenty of prepackaged salad options, sandwiches, and even pre-cooked entrees available at affordable prices. They have microwaves, plastic utensils, and napkins as you head out to the patio. *Happy hour from 4p to 7p – enjoy a large pizza on the patio with two draft pints for $10 (pizza is made fresh, right on site – it’s not a frozen pizza) *Almost the entire back wall of this HEB is loaded up with craft beers! *There’s a really long aisle that’s stocked with TONS of wine choices on EACH side (see pix).
The HEB Market downtown is the place to go if you are looking for a quick snack, unique ready to heat meals or a bottle of wine! (Huge selection of wine at all price points!) Everything here screams Fresh! you wont find everything here, but if you are looking for something different, this is the place! They offer an extensive selection of prepared meals, ready to eat sandwiches, fruit, cheese, nuts, beer, wine, fresh sushi, salad dressings, cooking oils, chips, dips and beverages. They also offer 5 different styles of pizza that they make just for you with fresh dough that if you order on the way in you can pu in 15-20 minutes on you way out for just $10! And its So Good! The deli closes at 8pm and the store closes at 9p. you can get gas or air on your way out. great staff, everything reasonably priced except the air for tires at gas station. (a little high) Located at Cesar Chavez and S flores.
This HEB is in downtown S.A. It is smaller than the average HEB store so there maybe fewer options to choose from such as different sizes or maybe certain brands found in other HEB stores. One example: coffee maybe purchased however they are in smaller packages depending on brand and not as many brands. You may not find the cut of meat you would in a larger HEB but there is variety and plenty to choose from as you prepare for a few good meals ahead. The store has plenty to offer but it is limited in size and quantity to what they have on the shelf in other locstions. They do have a bakery and I did not check for the meat market you normally find and did not see it. Customer service was terrific! The cashier was most helpful. There was an officer out front on duty and in the center of the city I found that reassuring and felt grateful. Same great qualities I have come to expect from HEB.
This is my 2nd time experiencing the lack of plastic ware at this specific location, hence I have to review this location. 1) they never have plastic wares for customers while they have a dine-in space available to patrons. Annoying. 2) one only unisex bathroom for customers and crew members is outrageously ridiculous for the amount of traffic the store has. Then the stench and the mess! Even a shoebox gas station does better. 3) For all these details that suck, this specific location is right next to headquarters! Seriously . 4) last: rarely does anybody clean the tables. I always have to clean my table every time I pass by. Included is a receipt.
The HEB on Flores is a fast, speedy experience for a couple or single person. This location is not ideal for families, they don't carry a lot of variety, and they carry the small size portion of what they do have. The pizza is good, and they have tons of IPA's but run out of basic Miller Lite often in the fridge. Aisle's are thin but with not a lot of choices it's perfect for a quick trip if you're cooking and realize you need an item. They always have security and they seem to be alert and not just chatting with locals like other HEB in area. Safest place to get gas in the area with police being feet away.
The only H-E-B where you have to play hide and go seek with the cashiers. Every time I go in after 9:00 p.m. I see that the cashiers have turned off the light for the line and made themselves scarce, leaving only the self checkout available. Feels like Walmart service at that point. Edit in response to the owners comment: I actually called about this last week and a manager (Stephanie I believe) called me and denied this ever happens. She even went as far as claiming to look at camera footage and seeing nothing on the last three days I’d witnessed it.
I never knew I could do this in my life but HEB made it happen for me is my niece's birthday on the 5th of December. I thought of HEB delivery service and I had wine and chocolates delivered to my niece on flycatcher in San Antonio Texas I placed the order from California to get delivered at her house and she received it within 2 hours. This is the greatest the most beautiful experience and I am willing to give not five stars but 100 stars rating to HEB thank you HEB you made my niece's birthday complete and now I know.
I absolutely love this HEB, their beer selection is great, always finding something new to try. Their pizza is also really good and as everyone else has mentioned, their happy hour cannot be beat. They do have tables and chairs outside with overhead fans so you can sit back and enjoy. I do wish the space betweem aisles was a little better, I know it's a smaller more unique HEB, but it's popular so it becomes a tight squeeze pretty quickly. Other than that great grocery store, great selections and great pizza.
Love this little hidden market in downtown San Antonio!!! This market provides your basic staples and even bakery and prepared meals. We went for a convention and stopped in to find some quick ready to eat meals that would be cheaper than convention prices. We found freshly chopped chicken Caesar salads, croissant sandwiches, yogurt with granola, along with some other amenities. I definitely would suggest stopping into this little HEB. The prices are reasonable even though the store looks pretty swanky!
This is a great HEB — clean, organized, and well stocked. The atmosphere is great and the employees are super friendly. However, I am not sure why HEB doesn’t build a major store downtown. There is an increasing amount of residences being built, including a 32 story apartment tower down the street. This area is in dire need of a modern, large store. Perfect example is the Buffalo Heights store in Houston on Washington Ave. Please, HEB, build us a fulls service modern urban store downtown!
Gotta say this small HEB is definitely one of my favorites. It has such a cozy feel with the alfresco dining in front as you enter. The security guards are super friendly and greet you. There is an epicurean feel to this location including the fresh pizza smells that grab you as soon as you step inside. Quick friendly checkouts and although inventory is a little tight and compact, there is still an onsite HEB gas station! Kudos to this small but mighty location in my book!
I like this HEB, also. It is very convenient when I'm downtown. But, when I asked the staff at SO-FLO if they could use turkey pepperoni instead of regular on my pizza, I was told in a very rude, condescending tone: "Lady, we make no substitutions!" I have a few dietary restrictions, and I love pizza. But, I guess I'll have to go somewhere else for that... I have noticed they have made some changes in how you order your pizza, but I didn't try the new system...
Probably one of the worst public bathrooms I have ever been in. Alerted management, instead of it getting cleaned he walked around organizing the cheese in the fridge. Pizza was fresh but the guy, Rene, seemed unhappy to deal with customers. They don’t allow you to taste the beer even after purchase like every other location does, so we just decided not to have another. The patio has a bee issue and is their only seating so it was difficult to eat here.
I love this HEB for the fact that it's so close to my job. Very easy to walk to and grab a snack or some delicious sushi. What throws me off is the customer service and the employees. Everytime I come into this location I'm never greeted and always stared at very rudely. Every single time. The employees at the self check out are never helpful. No manners at all in fact. I would work on getting some more friendly employees at this specific location.
I live real close to the downtown H-E-B and have been a regular customer since the day it opened. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the prices are right (unlike a lot of downtown merchants who gouge on prices because of all the tourist traffic). I can also find 99% of what I need here. This store operates like a piece of well-tuned precision German machinery, and it's great in my estimation.
It’s a nice small place for quick groceries. Definitely not as big as most other H-E-B’s so don’t expect a full blown H-E-B. I usually come here pretty often for their $10 pizza special for happy hour which includes 2 free beers from 4-7. Definitely worth the extra calories. Pizza comes out relatively fast and the beer is always good which is I believe Alamo brewery’s golden ale. Not bad for just $10!
SoFlo HEB as the locals call it. It has a pizza place in it that makes pretty good togo Zas. It is a very small HEB with mostly the basics and typically we can't do our full shopping here. Aisles are super small width-wise, one person max, and can be frustrating if you have a cart. They offer self check out but I typically find that using one of the two cashier lines to be quicker.
This H-E-B is so convenient always clean friendly staff all-around great store. It’s super convenient I Live less than half-a mile away in Southtown. Gas station is convenient also on property. Full disclosure.. it’s not your average HEB it is a small store isles are kind of tight selection is about small to medium but other than that everything‘s great for pop in and out service.
I love this little HEB. This is the place I go to get little things that I need to grab right after work. They have a great Beer and Wine section as well as a large variety of delicious ready made meals to choose from. Super clean and very courteous employees. I have another HEB that's closer to where I live, but I go out of my way to go to this one for all my basic needs.
HEB downtown, not a regular sized HEB, higher end costs, targeted more to the new clientele vs regular neighborhood clientele. Lots of good stuff/mdse here, so expect to pay a little more. HOWEVER!!! Check the clearance section for some really good mark down items. They enforce the social distancing, masks are required, plastic shields and sanitizing in between customers.
Cute little location in a busy area of the downtown. I like the atmosphere and vibe of this store. If I’m in the area, I’ll always make a stop. I go into the store knowing that they may not have everything I’m used to seeing from bigger stores, but for more of the quick to grab essentials and unique in-store buys. If you have the means and time to go on through, do it!
Always love HEB. When we lived in San Antonio in the past there was no grocery downtown, so the convenience of being able to walk to the grocery from our downtown hotel was great. I did love that there is an HEB2Go kiosk, but it ended up not being a time saver as when we checked out the clerk had to scan three items to verify, but we had only purchaced three items...
Great little store, part of the H-E-B Corporate Headquarters Campus. Jamaica Tea- H-E-B has the best I’ve found. Medicinal properties include kidney function stimulation and a side effect is lower blood pressure. With so many people struggling with their health, especially with blood pressure, why wouldn’t they be sure to stock the tea at every location?!
Needing to find a store to buy a few things for our hotel stay, we came across this unique HEB. Small, cozy but carried a sufficient amount of things you may need. Aisles are smaller than you expect but for being a grocery, surrounded by Hotels this is a great place. You can order pizza made there and they also had bakery items! I'd go back again.
Being a small location, it has a variety stuff. I purchased a spicy Hawaiian pizza for $10 that came with 2 cups of Alamo beer. There's a selection of prepared lunches or dinner to choose from as well as sweets. The check out line are pretty fast. If you come on a busy time you may have to wait a few minutes to park if there's no parking.
My first time here. Parked easily but spots were being waited on when left. Great place for basics and lots of alcohol selections hum seemingly not designed for full shopping experience but you will find plenty to eat. Left turn out of front exit is challenging. No left turn out back exit, as I found out the hard way. …
Place is very clean and probably one of the best places to visit. Has great views, everything is up to stock. Though aisles might be tight in spaces but it is still worth it. Oh and not to mention their pizzas are pretty good too. 11/10 recommend this place if you are in need for quick lunch or for quick grocery shopping.
This was basically a convince store. Didn’t have Blue Bell! Had I known that on the ad I wouldn’t have walked 25 minutes on the hottest day of my visit on the hunt for Blue Bell. I still give it 3 stars cause it’s still H.E.B but only had (pretty much) H.E.B products which I love but was on a mission for other items.
Great grocery store! The isles are a bit cramped, but the store has great unique options - especially if you’re from the East Coast with big box stores, like Safeway. The H.E.B. Grocery store sets itself apart with its distinctive selection of items, surpassing big box stores in terms of product variety and quality.
The absolute best grocery store in Texas. The produce specialists are so helpful. Something you cannot find? Ask. They go above and beyond to meet customer needs. Too crowded? Consider their curbside pickup by ordering ahead. Their system is practically flawless. Cannot say enough about HEB...I love it.
Great selection for a neighborhood store. They can make you a fresh pizza and have a microwave if you want to heat up your food and eat alfresco (they have a terrific patio with covered seating as well as tables with umbrellas). Convenient parking and a gas station on the premises.
Love this boutique HEB. Easy access for quick pick ups and huge selection of Texas products. The pizza is simply amazing and ordered onsite. Gas station and parking a super convenient. Not for the big stock up trips but certainly a nice deli and decent options for fresh produce.
Pizza was very good. Had a slice of Pepperoni and Supreme. Went during happy hour and was not disappointed. Iowa Betty on draft, only one to choose from, but probably changes when they run out. Overall, pizza was good and beer was cold, couldn't ask for anything less.
We needed some stuff and gave this small HEB a try. They don't have as much "stuff" as their big brothers but what they do have is pretty good and priced right, the staff were friendly and knew where everything was. We'll visit again when we're back in the area.
What a delightful little store. It has all the things that you might need for quick shopping and a great beer and wine selection as well. Just be sure to not go down the opposing side of an isle with someone else with a shopping cart. It can be a tight squeeze.
Not a traditional HEB by any stretch. Right in the middle of downtown this is upscale and caters to all the local residents walking back and forth to work and such. Nice and clean. Good selection of food prepped and ready to go or heat for the rushing worker.
Do love the amount of stuff, just wish they have their sausage Kolaches in the morning since most ppl go there to get a quick bite to eat. It's also the only place to get food in that area so just unfortunate that they dont have any ready made breakfast
Such a clean and organized smaller HEB. Everyone was so friendly, including the cashier. It's almost like a little mini convenient store. We usually stay at a hotel nearby when visiting come here every time we visit San Antonio for snacks and fuel.
Super cute HEB. They have at least one (brand/flavor) of every kind of item a regular-sized HEB store offers, which is pretty dang amazing. All of the graphic design and typography is beautiful. I was surprised that they even have a gas station.
Very nice H-E-B here in the downtown area. The inside is always very organized and clean. The employees are also very helpful. The pizza their is worth noting. I love the "So-Flow" pizza, it tastes pretty high quality for being under 20 bucks!
So this is HEB's version of a wm neighborhood market. Very excellently done as you'd expect from HEB. Noticed car low on fuel for return trip to DFW, knocked that out as well. Well done HEB! Excellent location, got all I needed and then some.
It’s really good for what it is. Smaller HEB with a great staff. Only bad thing is you can only pay debit on the gas pumps. One of the great things is they have a pizza bakery inside that makes extremely good, and affordable, . …
Two stars just bc they state they have a pharmacy but have very little to no non food items ie: laundry detergent, feminine items, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, bandages. The food selection and quality seemed adequate but not extensive.
My favorite HEB in all of San Antonio. Makes me feel like I’m in a different city. They have limited options, but if you live nearby, you quickly learn what they have and don’t have. Great for quick sushi, salads, or pizza, too.
Very good store, well run, organized, and helpful staff. The only real downside is the bathroom situation. There's always a very long wait for the one bathroom they have. Outside seating is great! Keep up the good work! …
This is a nice little grocery store. Not like a full blown have it all place. It’s like they are going for a local neighborhood market feel and t works. Plus you can’t beat the pizza deal. Ten bucks for a pizza and two beers.
Get their pizza when you stop here first and foremost. It's positioned pretty well so you can refuel and grab something to take home, though it lacks other grocery store capacity so don't expect to have everything here.
Great location, awesome store, excellent prices & friendly staff. Plus, they carry Hop & Sting Brewing Co beers now! Remedio and Galactic Haze from @hopandsting Delicious local brews! Go now! #getinyourcarnow
Bigger than a convenience store but not a Walmart Superstore, HEB grocery store in downtown San Antonio on South Flores carries a good selection of basic groceries at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
I really like this HEB. It's small and modern. My son loves that they have the drink Prime Meta Moon because it is very hard to find we can never find it anywhere else until we found it at this location.
The chicken salad sandwich was terrible. The sandwhich had giant chunks of dry chicken breast, was poorly seasoned with little mayo and prepared without care in my opinion. Would not recommend
H.E.B is a great place to shop. Produce is always fresh. The store just about covers all your shopping needs. I would like it if they carried more name brand items as well as their own brand.
I’ve been buying my groceries in this store and I gotta say it has a pretty good selection of products, for a small store it has most of the stuff that you need when you are in a hurry.
It's a small HEB but very good quality and service. It's well located so that you can walk there from hotels or apartments nearby. Has all the basics. Great gas station and prices.
A midsize Heb without the hustle and bustle of their sister stores. Homemade pizza and baked goods ample parking with a gas station. Self check out available at this location
This HEB was so small and it looked like a third world country grocery store. I'm from Houston and the HEB's there are way bigger and has a wider selection of everything.
Great selection of yummy prepared lunches and pastry, isn't large and I like that and nice to eat outside to watch all the downtown activity... also has a gas station
This place treated me weird and bought a pizza, and ig me walking around and made them nervous, so they started watching me. I'm like, I'm just waiting on my pizza
Smaller size market shop but still good range of food items that you get at the big shops. Smallish car park and the fuel station is in the corner of the car park.
Everything well organized, quality fresh fruit&vegetables. I'd like to go every time when I'll be in that area. Ppl who work there are very polite and respectful.
I just returned to my hotel which is 3 me nutes away. I bought a "fresh pizza";and it's burnt, dry and looks as if it's been sitting out for hours. Gross!
I wish we had this store in Gainesville Georgia I love this grocery store. I got several store brand things one easy a blood orange organic soda yummy!
Clean store with really delicious pizza. I really like how HEB offers such great products at really affordable prices, and the employees are so nice!
We are from out of state but thought it was a nice store. Our friends and the bus driver spoke highly of it. Store was clean and friendly employees.
Great my little HEB Store. Its really clean,in and out even though they were busy.Notice a lot of people walking out with freshly made pizzas …
Little nephew said it was as “pretty good” and that he “liked it” 10/10 for my rating 6/6 for his. Unfortunately he said 6/10 on the fruit…:(
Buy all things we need when I get away from home and Eric is away for a week at work. We meet in the middle and make it the best we can
Cute little grocery store near the Riverwalk with everything we needed for breakfast and a few items for the weekend. Friendly clerks.
Best little market ever! Great customer service and so many good options. We order pizza from here as well and it was Sooooo good.
They have vegan ramen that in Amazon is more than 50$ and here is like 2$ the cashiers are kind and there's guards outside …
It was my first time at this HEB location. lts a bit small and that's fine you have to outside to change your mind. LOL …
Perfect lil’ store in mid San An to get bit of food, beer, wine, and PIZZA! Walking distance from many nice hotels and BNBs!
Stopped in to get a pizza make sure you go between 4:00 and 6:00 you get a beer special with your pizza have a blessed day
Nice store with a great selection. The location is great! We want to try out the pizza and beer on the patio next time!
Cool little grocery store in Downton San Antonio. Gotta try the San Antonio roll. Tres leches cake was pretty good too.
Everyone knows HEB is the best grocery store in the world. I like this one bc it’s smaller and convenient for the area.
We absolutely love this place we go every time we go to Texas tour. We do our shopping for the week we’re down there.
Very expensive some products are not available had to go other HEB this HEB too small only for Rich people
Great little location. Good selection of stuff. Helpful employees. Ample parking. Self-checkout. Loved it!
Found this store 200 yards from my hotel in downtown San Antonio. Clean, well stocked and great service.
Great store, lots of variety, friendly staff. Was my first time visiting San Antonio and HEB store.
To small, not the best selection. But I was out of town. I did find almost everything we needed.
Talk about greatest grocery store ever. They have everything you need and more at a great price.
Pizzas are awesome. Not a large choice but it’s fresh and very good. A good place to go
Very good place to go for ready made meals and other needs, quick In, quick out.
Neat little grocery store that is very convenient to the Riverwalk area.
Best place for a quick bite mo smokers so the place is very very clean.
Perfect, small HEB with just what you need and nothing you dont.
Nice H‑E‑B but I bought a to go sandwich but they had no mayo!!
Nice environment just way too small very limited selection
The South-Flo pizza located inside has great pizzas
Love it there so small but they have it all
One of the most beautiful HEB I’ve been to
