EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE I recently visited Hoyts Bankstown to watch the movie "Kerala Story," and I must say it was an absolutely miserable experience from start to finish. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism and utter disregard for customer satisfaction that was displayed by the theater staff. To begin with, the movie was played from the second half first! It's astonishing that such a basic mistake could occur in a supposedly reputable theater. When we brought this issue to the attention of the staff, their response was utterly disheartening. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and apologizing, they simply played the first half of the movie afterward, as if it would rectify the situation. There was no attempt made to address the inconvenience caused or compensate for the error. Furthermore, when we requested to speak to a manager regarding this matter, we were informed that the manager was not present at the moment. Instead of taking our complaint seriously, the staff casually assured us that they would "share the feedback" with the manager. They didn't even bother to note down our details or offer any form of compensation for the appalling experience we had just endured. This level of disregard for customer satisfaction is completely unacceptable. As paying customers, we expect a certain level of professionalism and respect from the staff, but it was clear that this was lacking at Hoyts Bankstown. It is disheartening to see such a renowned theater chain failing to meet even the most basic standards of customer service. I sincerely hope that Hoyts Bankstown takes immediate action to address this issue and ensure that such incompetence and negligence are not repeated in the future. As a customer, I expect a theater experience that is worth my time and money, and sadly, Hoyts Bankstown failed to deliver on this front. I strongly advise others to reconsider their decision to visit Hoyts Bankstown until they demonstrate a commitment to rectifying their shortcomings and prioritizing customer satisfaction. There are plenty of other theaters in the area that deserve our patronage and offer a more enjoyable movie-going experience. I hope my feedback serves as a wake-up call for Hoyts Bankstown to reevaluate their practices and take the necessary steps to improve their service quality.

If I could give a 0 or Minus star I would. this place is the worst cinema that I have been to my entire life. We came to watch the nun 6pm 9/9/23 in cinema 1. Firstly, the recliner did not work but it was not a big issue. Secondly, at the beginning of the movie, it was full of middle east teenagers about 10-20 of them not paying for ticket, and sitting on the floor at the front screen or seats that were empty instead. It is not my business if they dont buy ticket or sitting on the floor, I dont care as long as they keep quiet. But, they constantly talking, yelling and changing seats. We have notified the staff but they did not do the job properly. staffs came in to check ticket and some of those kids got the ticket but it WAS NOT the ticket for the movie that we were watching- STAFF DID NOT CHECK PROPERLY. I mean, Why cant the staff just look on the system and see where the empty seats are? instead of checking their ticket ? This result in later the people who were actually paying for the seats came a bit late and they demand their seats back and that is when those teenager left. Not even 5 minutes later, those teenager came back and picking other empty seat and same story again. They constantly gossiping and making loud noises during scary scenes again. This level of disrespecting customer who are paying for the ticket is unacceptable. This place absolutely ruined my day off yesterday. If you want to have time to relax with family, this place will ruin your day. I will never ever visit this cinema again.

Literally the worst customer service I have ever received at any cinema. I work in customer service and have done for 15 years and I am shocked by how terrible this experience was. I give this 2 stars because 1, the seats were comfortable and 2 we were late to our session. But with that in mind, I still cannot fathom why 4 or 5 employees think that standing around drinking slushies and chatting is more important than serving customers. My partner and I stood at the counter waiting, no one helped us. We started to approach them and finally someone asked us if we needed a hand. They didn't scan my online ticket barcode so we also didn't get the combo we purchased online. I thought maybe I just didn't buy it and had forgotten, so I purchased another combo. When I finally found the receipt stating I did purchase a combo, not only I was not offered a refund of the popcorn I had just bought, nor any way to rectify the situation, but when I said I'd just take the lot, they gave me one of three drinks and let me stand at the counter waiting for an additional 5 minutes while I waiting for two drinks that were not coming. I said to them, don't worry about the other two drinks, and they said "oh were you waiting on another drink?" I said "yes two but don't worry about it, we're missing the movie". Yes, its was partially my fault we missed the start of the movie, but the lack of assistance we received and the obvious lack of care and consideration to their jobs just made for a really garbage experience.

After reading the reviews I'm surprised that Hoyts haven't fired all their current staff. We were there tonight. The counter and area behind it was a mess. I told one female staff member that the place is dirty and needed cleaning, her reply was "it's been a long day"...I should have replied that all the days are the same length and that a bit of pride in your work area, that would have taken 2 minutes to tidy up, help. Who knows if the place has ever had a decent clean!?! Regarding the condition of the cinema, no one to blame other than the patrons; disrespectful, talking throughout the movie, destroying the place and leaving a big mess afterwards instead of carrying it out.There needs to be security walking in and about during the sessions to ensure they have tickets and abide by the rules. Too much loitering. We had purchased tickets a few days earlier, otherwise we would have left. Shame on you Bankstown, no wonder the area has a bad name...every year it's just getting worse...should be renamed Slumtown!

Wowwww today was the best night of my life, best vibe and best customer service I've had in years, thanks to Angel & Jasmine. I literally booked my family of 34 for a movie night because of them, thanks to the best staff members I've ever seen. They did their utmost to make our special screening session fun as possible, very polite and professional. Bankstown Hoyts is now, my official cinema location and will not step foot anywhere else. I rate the staff members 10/10 especially to Angel & Jasmine, by far the best customer service team members I've ever seen. I felt refreshed, a load was taken off my shoulders after a nice laugh and welcoming vibe, I no longer need therapy, this was the best therapy ever! Thanks for the best laugh girls, you guys ROCK! Thanks Bankstown Hoyts, I vote you the number one business award in history, I honestly mean it! Best STAFF members ever!

Came here for the last session of Creed and the cinema was absolutely disgusting!!! To start off the boy serving us was full of attitude and overcharged us. He rushed us to pay for the order before we finished, and straight after he asked “you want drinks right”, meaning we overpaid and could not get the combo. To top it off the cinema was like a dump. Popcorn, drinks and rubbish were left in all of the aisles it was absolutely feral - seats were wet and fingerprints left everywhere. When we went to complain they simply came in and removed the popcorn packets on the seat only, I’m currently sitting in here in the only decent seats we could find, the floor is disgusting with popcorn and straws everywhere, seats are soaking and we need about 20 layers of sanitise when we get out of this place. Never again.

We bought the tickets online and somebody like 7 peoples sitting our sets , the women who set wrong but says they cant move and she doesn't care ! when I want to get my right set ,also asking me to go reception to tell them ,because someone took thier sets ??!! Definitely not my problem at all. she took my sets and comfort her child says we don't need to move ,it's ok !! Excuse me ?! Can I parking your car park because someone paking there so please you go parking somewhere? That's definitely not right and ridiculous. ,I'm sure she doesn't buy enough tickets to make this excuse and why we bought tickets but we have to give to her our sets ??!! Please check tickets in the cinema, if we spending money to choose likely sets ,we can have rights to get what we get ! Bad experience happen!

Rude employees, one employee started laughing at a customer behind their back because the customer asked for the theatre to be clean because it was filthy. We sat on the floor as we waited for our whole group to arrive. Because there were no seats available despite the large, empty floor area. Little did I know that this would be the worst decision of my life because it felt like millions of Little bugs were crawling on me. I think it's safe to say I had a long shower afterwards and emptied out the local dam. Also the cinema smelt from the uncleanliness. Also they did not clean theatre before we went in so my seat was accompanied with leftover popcorn. There was also a pool of softdrink in the cupholder. It was so disgusting but Josh Hutcherson made up for it.

Hoyts cinema has definitely come a long way providing comfort within their cinema offering recliner seating. The prices have increased from $10.00 to $12.00 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased online, at the cinema or at the ticket booths. You can also order food at ticket booths. Just like most cinemas Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night's tend to be the busiest, whilst other days are fairly quiet. There is alot of parking available but maybe difficult to find on a Thursday night. There is wheelchair access which is expectant to cater to those whom are not able to walk the many stairs. However, Hoyts cinema need to stay on top of maintenance as there is always rubbish throughout the premises.

I usually have a good experience at Hoyt's Bankstown. However I must say this was the worst cinema experience I've ever had. 9pm session Sunday night. The cinema was not cleaned, it was actually filthy. Staff came in during the previews and asked us to leave while they cleaned and we missed the beginning of the movie The bathrooms were also filthy and had no toilet paper! I actually don't blame the staff, they looked as embarrassed as I was upset. The same staff (3) that I could see were running the ticket office, candy bar and cleaning the cinema. This was obviously a management issue not putting on enough staff on a Sunday night, probably trying to save money.

Smells like a stale and dank pub today. I think it's damp in the carpet. But unsure. It smelled really offensive waiting in line to get tickets/drinks/popcorn. Seats are often damaged (photo taken from a previous visit 2weeks ago. Unsure if has been since repaired) and the recliner functions on the seats either don't work properly or don't work at all. Toilets are often out of toilet paper and soap and not cleaned. The only redeeming factor is the friendly customer service. Looks like more employees are needed to clean though. I've been coming to this theatre for 25 yrs and I've never seen it in such disrepair as it has been in the last year or so.

I've come to this place 4 times now. The first time it was great chairs reclined and the screen worked perfectly. The next time I came the screen got tp'd and they did not give us compensation. The next time I came the screen didn't work for 1 hour and the movie was still playing. They restarted the movie and we still had to watch 30 mins of ads. The next time I came the screen was not turned on and we had an hour delay the movie was restarted and when the next session cam the movie was cut short without us finishing the movie. Oh yeah and the recliners didn't work after the first visit.

I am more then thrilled to write this review due to my great experience at this cinema. I was served by a handsome young man, if I recall correctly, his name is Beau. One thing that really impressed me was his willingness to help me and assist me with all the questions I had. He went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and appreciated. In addition he had a friendly demeanour which I do not often witness with other cinemas. It is evident that Beau prioritises customer satisfaction and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure a positive and enjoyable visit.

thought i'd give it a try again after many years, worst decision of my life, cant go 10 minutes without constant screaming and swearing. Took my younger siblings to watch the FNAF movie, Worst place to take younger kids due to the absurd amount of swearing and rubbish throwing from others. It wouldnt have been a problem if it was dealt with, but not a single person came in to say anything for the whole 2 hour movie. There is no management at Bankstown Hoyts, The tickets are also way more expensive compared to other places too. DO NOT COME HERE.

Quite disappointed on my recent visit. Wish they would update the design to be in line with other Hoyts across Sydney but I guess they don’t think people are honest. Had to wait at least 10 minutes in line with only three people in front. Walked into the cinema and my chair and my friends recliner were both broken. Then we moved to the row in front and both were broken again! Then also my friend had to go to the toilet and both times they went there was no toilet paper! Just a bit sad what’s happened over the last few years.

Today I was served by a friendly and very helpful Customer Service Attendant at Hoyts Bankstown by the name of Bo! Bo is one hard working Young Man who makes working behind Bar Counter when super busy seem like a walk in the Park and all the while enthusiastic and cheerful, setting a great mood even before watching some fantastic Movies now showing and coming soon that I'll be returning to see in the future!!! Kudos for Hoyts Bankstown for having a pretty cool recruited friendly and helpful Customer Service Team!!!

The aircon was broken . Nobody told us . I complained to the manager and she advised me it’s been broken for a while and to finish the movie and she will refund the tickets . When I went to refund them she was only willing to give me free tickets instead . She played dumb and told me that she never offered me my money back !! It's the most convenient cinema location wise. Pretty dirty, food on the seats and don't look under them. A lot of broken seats so hit and miss if yours reclines, mine didn't but the kids ones did. Staff look like they want to be elsewhere and probably do. Screens have marks on them. Food prices are ridiculously high and can cost more than the film ticket. No toilet paper or soap in male toilets on ground or upper floor. Staff member barely acknowledged my request to fix it. Still nothing after the film.

Cinema is poorly maintained and managed. Ordered tickets online, only to have to queue up for 15 minutes behind everyone else who didn't order online. What's the point of ordering online? The seats were in poor condition and I don't think they've cleaned underneath the seats in years, dropped my phone and and when I got down to get it, I looked under the seats and there were piles of food and other rubbish underneath. I suspect the staff's idea of cleaning is to just sweep everything under the seats.

When we walk in the floor is dirty with rubbish and popcorn everywhere. When going to the bathroom there is no hand wash to clean my hands and the dispensers are all broken. We entered the cinema and our shoes were sticking to the floor because it was disgusting. The recliner doesn’t work on some of the chairs.The whole cinema has a bad smell. A cinema should be a comfortable place to relax away from home that’s hygienic and clean. I rate this Hoyts cinema 0/5 (it needs more maintenance). So sad

The absolute worst cinema experience EVER. Watched John Wick3. It was full of young 14-17 year olds who were constantly yelling out changing seats throughout the WHOLE movie and absolutely nothing was done about it. When I asked for the manager her explanation was that we should come in a few weeks when the popular movie dies down and the young ones have already watched it. What a cop out. Why are they encouraging this unruly behaviour and not stopping the movie and giving an ultimatum. Not helpful.

I am really disappointed of this place, I always come here and it looks like the photos below at all the time, something happens after the pandemic. I write this, because I want to continue coming. I want this place to be better, I think the owners of this cinemas can improve, you can do it in Australian way. Love this place more, love more please and you can show us that by maintaining a clean place, the people of Bankstown deserve it, the best cinema can be in Bankstown why not?

Filthy in the Cinemas. The only thing I can say good about this place is you can get in and out real easily cause they don't check your tickets. Unfortunately management have left untrained staff to man the place and the place has gone to the dogs. Had to climb into my greasy seat, it had not been wiped down and could not go up into an upright position. Popcorn and food wrappers everywhere, the staff don't care. Thank God there are better places to go than Bankstown Cinemas

2nd time going to this cinema last time we saw The Nun they sell tickets to kids that are under 15 and they talk and gossip throughout the entire movie. This time we went to see the Boogieman exactly the same experience if your looking to enjoy a horror movie don’t go to this cinema this time we had constant talking kids moving from seat to seat and making loud noises during scare scenes which ruined any impact. I don’t think I will ever visit this cinema again after that.

Attended the hoyts on a Thursday night for 9.30 session arrived at 9.15 and was told the staff that there was no popcorn ans the slushie machine was not working and cleaned up as they wanted to finish up early what a joke when u go to see a movie first customers want is popcorn also was told that there was no one attending that session which was a lie we booked online so should know that there would be people attending worst experience will not be attending again

Staff werent actively helpful on a slow working saturday. Upon paying for tickets and food I Asked for a frozen coke and wasnt advised it wasnt working. Then upon collection of drinks and popcorn I was advised then the frozen isnt working whilst watching the girl pour coke into a cup. I dont know if she just didnt want to loose profit in food waste because she poured the wrong drink or the machine wasnt working at 11am….

Would not recommend this place on my worst enemy to watch a movie. Unprofessional staff, not even in uniform. They say whatever they can to get rid of talking to you and dismiss you to speak to their friend beside them. Bathrooms are not clean ever and neither are the cinema rooms - expect the last session's food to be in your seats. The screens themselves are ridiculously tiny compared to other hoyts cinemas.

This is the most disgusting cinema I've ever seen. The chairs are disgusting and damaged, they need replacing. Every aisle in the cinema rooms are filled with rubbish and old popcorn. By time the movie finishes you will leave with food poisoning or some virus at some point!! The bathrooms at night are dirty and smelly. The manager hires the most lazy people to clean. I'm reporting them to health inspectors.

Waited 10 minutes outside cinema for 7:40pm Fast X session to start/ open doors whilst cinema is being cleaned. Finally opened up, entered and our seats J11& 12 are still filled with popcorn,oiled and ground very dirty. 2 team members still cleaning but obviously not enough resource staff to do job as is case with customer service at ticket purchase desk with 1 team member and line queued to glass door!

Live in the area, would much rather travel to Weatherill park Hoyts though and will be from now on.

Had a similar experience to other reviews, booked 4 seats, one didn't recline. Only two staff seemed to be on the floor, so clearly can't keep up with the amount of trash people leave everywhere - not their fault, but something management should address. The toilets are horrible - stale urine smell, broken toilets, and toilet roll holders not restocked. The whole place needs a really good clean.

We were in cinema 6 - it was spacious and clean with large reclining chairs. Sound and picture were crisp and clear. Depending on who is the manager on the day, the service and cleanliness vary from good to terrible. I'll be updating my review after my daughters birthday party there - fingers-crossed there's no bathroom smells on the day as the party space is very close by...

Various cinemas are available, although the elevator stopped working when I was there so had to walk up and down various flights of stair, the maltesers pack I bought was off, i had to walk back down during my movie to let them know which was annoying.. but they replaced the pack immediately with no fuss. The parking was easy and free for 4 hours underneath the cinemas

Had my Samsung Galaxy Watch Stolen ($500) by the cleaners, it was handled poorly by the hoyts manager, they were trying to protect the cleaners. Reported this incident to the police. In terms of the cinema experience: Overpriced popcorn, poor cinema size, uncomfortable seats, overpriced tickets. I Do not recommend coming here, try Rhodes or Auburn Reading Cinema.

Watched a movie at this cinema on Saturday 18th November 2023, afternoon show. In Cinema hall number 1, a lot of reclining seats were actually not reclining. Tried at least 3 and finally a fourth one worked. Also, the service at the counter was very poor. No rush and yet the staff were busy chatting with each other, and it took 10 minutes to get just 2 slushies.

It’s not a bad place, but what ruined it for me was the way the staff treated me and my father. After purchasing our tickets and food, we told the worker our order again in case she got it wrong, only for her to get it wrong. I confronted her about it nicely but refuse to admit it was her fault while also giving me attitude and weird looks from time to time.

I booked for the creater and the movie did come on for 40 minutes+ I'm very disappointed I went to take me brother because he wanted to see it our ice cream melted before it started but the shocking thing that got me way 8.70$for m&ms wow. Such a nice movie theatre, yet so neglected by the operators. Great comfy seats, yet half of them do not work and many are damaged. No one maintaining the cleanliness of the place, with sticky floors before you get in to the theatres. Toilets--need a thorough clean, as they stink. Will definitely think twice before going back.

We were served by a gentleman i think the manager named Zach. So helpful and courteous made my usual movie trip very smooth and enjoyable. We were in cinema 7 it was relatively clean except the entrance was so sticky i almost lost a shoe. All in all the seats were comfortable and temperature was perfect in the theater.

The seat we had booked - did not have the reclining working. The cinema screen had a splatter of liquid on it - noticeable in certain lights/scenes of the movie. The cinema hall did not smell good so was not pleasant to sit and watch a movie. Overall, the place is not kept well and definitely not the Hoyts standard.

But the screen where you go to actually watch the movie, the whole point of the cinema is completely ####ed, dirty, marks on it, an actual physical hole in the corner of the screen… and the corners of the screen are at 480p… go events. Save your money

This place keeps on getting worse and worse! No proper drinks… you come to watch a movie to have coke with your popcorn and all they can offer is Gatorade, water. Even the fridges are empty. They should have technicians fixing up the post mix machine. It’s like a cinema ready for closure!

I really like the new upgrade that the cinema had. Loving the new leather chairs, recliners too! Very fancy and proper. Parking was convenient downstairs, although they should really have cinema only parking. Had to circle the place a few times before I could find a spot for my car!

Nice comfortable seats with reclining options. Far more comfortable than the basic Events cinema seats. The only minor caveat being that the cinema isn’t kept clean always. To make the most of it and get the best deal, you’ll need to be an Optus customer to enable cheaper tickets.

The men’s bathroom has no soap, no toilet paper, and no paper towel! Very poor hygiene, and no cleaners onsite. The customer service was extremely poor! The kids behind the counter were not happy to work there and you can see the disappointment on their faces. NEVER AGAIN!

Beau and Lini were fantastic! They were friendly, helpful and provided quality service to all! They created a happy atmosphere with smiles all round. The cinema itself was clean, food was great, and the recliners were nice and comfy. In all, it was a wonderful experience!

This place has certainly picked up. All the cinemas have the reclining seats and tickets $14 (or $12 depending on popularity) it's a steal. There is a ticket kiosk there too, so no need to line up (unless you want food/drink). Nice one Hoyt's!!!

There is barely and air conditioning and the screen is very small. The floor in the theatre is absolutely disgusting. There is popcorn everywhere and the staff does no maintenance to the different theatres in Hoyts Bankstown

Nice comfortable leather reclining seats. Close to shops and eating places. Good range of movies on and at a fantastic price. Theatre was a good temperature ( I often feel cold on movies) and it was an enjoyable experience.

First time visit - small bottle of water cost me $6.20 - absolutely outrageous and disgusting daylight robbery - the audacity to charge triple for just a water!!!! Gross RIP OFF!! Won’t ever be coming back here again

Dirty, recliner didnt work,sticky all over the rest arms chair,popcorn everywhere, no patronts, people so noisy inside with kids,sharing chairs, not enjoyable time,surely not worth the money,never coma back again..

Very nice cinema in Bankstown, though some of the chairs wont recline, over all, still a safe and nice place to watch a movie. Very close to Bankstown centro and walking distance from Bankstown Train station.

Washroom was not cleaned and the total management was ridiculous. No one checking the ticket that’s why some outsiders easily enter the premises. And no one said anything to them. Outsiders are disturbing.

Terrible Hoyts at Bankstown. Seats are broken. The seat I had was damaged and wasn’t able to recline back. I don’t recommend this place. Service is also really bad and staff are rude. Please retrain staff.

- Screen size was kept small like what they use for playing ads. - Surround sound music stayed turned off throughout the movie - I could have better watched the movie on my TV - Recliners were not working

Saw Avatar in 3D. Less than 20 people in. Good movie, comfortable seats, so high prices must be a factor. I'd go more if cost was around $10. $26 is just way too expensive. As for drinks, etc, same thing

Whenever we bok seats most of the time, the recliners don't work. When they do work, they don't recline all the way. Staff says they won't fix em. It's a rip-off here might as well go to another cinema.

Please fix the recliner seat no. G6 in hall 7. I predominantly went to enjoy the movie in a recliner but the whole purpose went to zero. Not to mention the theatre was warm and stuffy, seats were dirty.

Was quiet when we went. 340pm on a Friday afternoon. 4 others in the cinema. They are clean, popcorn was good, drinks were cold tickets were reasonably priced. Overall it was a great experience

Went for a late night show and your whole snack bar was apparently closed, what a joke, did you bother teaching those kids not to turn off anything till the last show starts? Horrible service

Toilets are a crime scene. Cinema seating is dirty and hit and miss with recliners (some work, some don't). Only got 3 stars because staff are nice, otherwise it's a 0.

Cinema seats are comfortable and clean. Foyer areas are clean. Friendly staff. Cinema is close to the train station and bus stop. Don't know about vehicle parking

Nice big screen, annoying we gotta go three flights of stairs to reach theatre. Viewing angles were a bit weird but other than that no complaints
