I've heard big things about this cinema and been meaning to make the journey to come and see it. I'm a self appointed cinephile and having been a photographer for now 10 years, I appreciate a quality screen. Having heard big things, and being one of the few operators in Sydney showing Oppenheimer in 70mm projection I knew this would be the time to actually journey out. Being from out of the area (good ol western Sydney, Parramatta) it was completely different experience to that of just going to the movies at the local event cinemas. I actually felt like I was somewhere, about to watch something special. The friendly staff and ambience made the whole process of getting in really enjoyable. Unlike other cinemas, I wasn't sitting there for half the movie asking "Is this in focus or is it my eyes?". I feel like whoever's in charge of the technical side of things actually takes pride in their work and judging by the ads, their given target market being that on the older side, they wouldn't even need to care that much but I digress. This cinema, is first date material, something to dress up too, and enjoy with someone special after dinner. But why I am talking about that, I'm single. The ONLY criticism I have of the whole place, and really this is ALL cinemas, the seats could be a bit more comfortable, especially for a such a long haul movie like Oppenheimer. However, it did make me engage for the whole the film. Anyways, keep doing what you're doing, I think I've found a new favourite cinema for viewings I actually care about. Will probably come down for the Jurassic Park 30th anniversary, would love to see my favourite on that screen. P.s that little light show before the screen is revealed is so cute, it actually gave me the biggest serotonin boost

The Orpheum in Mosman is a delightful cinema that takes you back in time with its old-world charm. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a bygone era, with its classic architecture and vintage decor. The comfortable seating and intimate atmosphere create the perfect setting to enjoy a movie. The selection of films is diverse and caters to various tastes, making it an ideal spot for cinephiles. Definitely a unique vibe, vintage sorta atmosphere happening. Great for a date night. It's a cinema so snacks are obviously expensive! But there were no issues with bringing our own :) The only downside was the seats, narrow and upright. Sitting through a 2 hr movie becomes a little uncomfortable by the end. I don't expect this to change, it matches the theme, and isn't that big of a problem, just a comfort thing.

Amazing experience watching Baraka remastered in 70mm! What a beautiful place to watch a movie. When going to movies is becoming more of a shopping mall experience, Hayden Orpheum is standing tall and pretty with its beautiful architecture and old world charm. Going for a movie here at night in itself is an experience. And thanks for bringing old classics to the big screen!

Classic Theatre experience For first timers, the seats are not numbered and allocated on the ticket. Its first come first serve. You can select the seat that you want after entering the theatre hall They have great speakers and hue lights Overall, its 1900s theme with modern inserts. Enjoyed watching Oppenheimer on the screen and perfect for 70mm in Sydney

Love this place so much. Has character and charm in bucket loads. The staff and friendly. The whole Venue is well presented and well kept. Love stepping back in time to this art Deco, old world charm. Attention to detail is sublime. It's also versatile showing a variety if shows including films

Show was excellent. Venue needs an update. Really hard to find a parking spot on a busy night. Got there more than half an hour before the show but had to drive around for 20mins. Eventually found a space down a dark alley half a kilometre away. Wouldn't recommend. Too much of a hassle.

very rare for me to award 5 stars but this gorgeous Art Deco "picture palace" is still in perfect condition and the staff were excellent. Besides catching up on the latest new release movies, this venue is must visit for anyone interested in the era of super decorative interior style.

The Hayden Orpheum is an eternal classic place to watch movies! The art deco styling is beautiful, the staff are all lovely, and they're one of the only places in Sydney consistently playing non-current movies. Do yourself a favour and go see a classic movie there!

I have been to the Orpheum since I was a child and it has always been great. I purchased a set of 5movie tickets but they were a week over the expiry period and they refused to honour them. Terrible service and something I’d expect from the major theatres.

Went for Motown show, wasn't what I was expecting. Was bit disappointed. Few patrons were given wrong seats so was bit of a chaos in the start of the show. The place needs TLC. 2 medium popcorn and 2 bottles of water costed $29, thought was bit steep.

Australians' favorite theater, It has a great interior and exterior that shows the efforts to take care of the old things. It's a place where you can feel the memories with Australians for a long time. It's a place where you can feel warm and cozy.

I saw Oppenheimer today in 70mm and it was awesome. Plus the Wertzer Organ came up out of the floor and a very talented gentleman played 3 amazing tunes. If you want quality entertainment... this really is the place! And the movie was good too...

My favourite theatre in Sydney. Beautiful building inside and out. Great retro movies with awesome guest speakers/actors. Also shows new movies and live musical acts. Please play Paper Moon as its 50th and Ryan o'neal has recently passed.

Such a beautiful cinema!! Great location, stunning interiors and classic movie snacks. Not too expensive and worth the extra dollars for the experience. Even the inside of the cinema was gorgeous! So fun to go with a group of friends.

Beautiful Art Deco style Picture Theatre. We went to see Steve Kilbey perform with his band. Large comfortable auditorium. The acoustics were great. Steve was AWESOME as were his backing band. Easily one of the best shows I've seen.

Just saw a live Beatles tribute band here. Seating and sound were fantastic. Great venue for movies or lives shows with mazing decor and atmosphere. Also, there are plenty of resteraunts nearby. We left the car and caught a bus.

Awesome! The first time to this theatre, it was fantastic!. We sat in row T. Fair way back, back still great position. Before the show, we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant straight across the road. Food was lovely.

We went to a candlelight event at this epic theatre. The acoustics were just perfect. It is so beautiful too - I would go in a tour just to see the immensely gorgeous art deco in and of itself.
