Keep your money You're better off doing your own hair! I'm not sure how a hairdresser with 27 years of experience can't figure out that burnt orange hair is not balayage, but here we are. I had to go to another salon to fix the mess that Stephanie made, and couldn't even get a refund for the disaster that I was left to deal with. Stephanie did highlights using paint (mind you, I requested a balayage) and left me looking like a scarecrow, with nasty burn orange patches starting from the top of the head and continuing around my face. Basically, I could have done my hair at home and it probably would have looked better. Don't get me wrong, this was not because of my hair colour, which is dark brown, but because Stephaine decided she will do the highlights with light blonde paint. You don't need to be a hairdresser to know that blonde paint will only partially lift the colour and will leave you with brassy orange colour. Seriously, save your money, save your hair, go elsewhere.

My wife and son have both just been refused entry and a hair cut despite being booked in. They were told by the hairdresser this was because we left the shop previously as we couldn't wait for a haircut, because my 7 year old son was getting restless. I am quite sure most reasonable people will agree and understand this decision. Both my son and wife have been back since and had a haircut by others, however today they have been refused. I can only assume the reason is that my family did not fit the accepted clientele this particular hairdresser is looking for, though I am quite sure my son would have been accepted if he was with me given i most likely would have fitted the criteria acceptable to this lady. I trust people reading this review can read in between the lines to what i am implying.

In response to a recent negative review I was in the salon when a customer took exception to the fact that her stylist was running late and was still working on her customer. She, her partner and her child left clearly irritated at being expected to wait and slammed the door. I found her whole attitude very entitled and bad mannered. I for one certainly wouldn’t want to be present at the same time as her so if her custom was declined I think that is the owners’ prerogative. For her partner to imply that the reason was anything else is deliberately misleading - perhaps he should walk by the salon and see who the customers are before making such remarks.

I have been coming to Hair at the Square for 15 years and would not consider changing hairdressers. Kate and Steph are very welcoming and always listen to what you want, I often let Kate decide what is best for my hair as her expertise is better than my vague knowledge! Their availability for appointments is very flexible and often fit me in last minute or change my time at short notice. Their clientele varies from young kids to the older generation! Over the years I have got to know them very well and likewise they know me, coming here is often like therapy!!! I would highly recommend Hair at the Square.

I have been getting my hair done at Hair At The Square for many years now. The staff always make you feel welcomed & the service throughout is fantastic. A couple of years back I relocated for work and had to use a different salon for some time, but the experience was not great and they messed up my hair. So the next day I called Hair At The Square and got booked in straight away, and they saved my hair! I visit them regularly for my highlights and would always recommend them to anyone. 5* Salon!

Myself and my daughter use this hairdressers regularly for all my hair requirements enjoying hair colouring and straightening as my natural hair is really curly. Hi, I’ve been using this hairdressers for over 20 years Stephanie is my hairdresser . They always do my hair with the upmost professionalism. I’m very happy with the service. The price hasn’t really increased a massive amount over the last 5 to 6 years. Thank you love coming in to have a chat with everybody all the staff are lovely.

I messed my hair up during lockdown with colour. So I made a appointment with this salon. Was very pleased with my experience here.. social distancing was in place and the PPE was worn by everyone. Very professional and very pleased with the out come of my hair. Would highly recommend.
