"Hale coffee is one of my favourite coffee places since i was living in Toronto and i’m still ordering and paying a premium for delivery in spite of the fact that i moved west in the GTA "
"I never leave reviews but this was absolutely the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had"

"If the there is a zero review I would give to this place for there customer service ,I tried it for the first time and the worker ethics were really bad ,me and my friend with our kids 4 years old had went to have a coffee and we were sitting in the place and as every body have kids they will know that some time they can get hyperactive and loud which pretty normal in that age, the place was almost empty just one other table was occupied and the worker (specifically the two girls )they were looking at us in a very insulting way and whispered then one of the girls from the bar were yelling in front of the other sitting costumers that if our kids not getting quieter she may ask us to leave the place , I was shocked I lived in Canada for 10 years and never had that service attitude before, even in such an occasions that happened to me or other people who had kids it can be presented in very nice and gentle way but that was so rude to me "
"I could have given 0 stars if i had the option, the customer service at Hale is at it’s worst"
Hale coffee is one of my favourite coffee places since i was living in Toronto and i’m still ordering and paying a premium for delivery in spite of the fact that i moved west in the GTA . The 1 star ( and i wish i could give 0 starts) is for the barista at Square One in Mississauga ! I drove 45min yesterday with my new born to get Coffee beans . The closure time was 7pm according to google and the website , i was there around 6:10. The barista working there treated me poorly ,talked to me with disdain and literally started ignoring me . I told him that the closure time advertised is 7pm online , he refused to take a look . i offered to pay cash .. nothing ! It was extremely frustrating , a loyal customer who drove almost an hour begging to get coffee beans with a new born ..and nothing 0 compassion or empathy whatsoever. What appalled me even more is the fact that i told him that I’m a regular customer and that i know the owner …if i managed to get him over the phone would you give me the bag? .. he was like yes ! Unfortunately i couldn’t reach the owner over the phone probably because the rogers outage , and the barista left , leaving us staring at the beans over the counter . And i could see him enjoying the moment !!! This is a classic example of how a single employee with no customer service training or empathy can make a loyal customer hate a very good brand !
I never leave reviews but this was absolutely the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I went to buy an iced espresso today at the square one location and there was milk available at the table (which is available for everyone). I went to pour milk and the cashier approached me and said “just to let you know, you put milk worth a latte. Next time order a latte. DON’T EVER do that again.” While saying that, she also gave me the dirtiest look ever. What’s unfortunate is that I’ve come to this location twice before and both times I was told I was welcome to add milk and it was not an issue. I even offered to pay for the milk and the cashier said “no, but don’t ever do that again”. This was completely unacceptable. The way the cashier was looking at me made me feel so awkward and uncomfortable. Her reaction was very unnecessary. It was literally like another dollar for milk (which again I offered to pay after I was yelled at). In my opinion, any business big or small that has customer service this atrocious shouldn’t have customers in the first place. Very unfortunate.

The vibe is decent and the staff is kind. Personally I’d like to see milk, cream, etc. left out for customers to add their own. Never seems to be enough or very little when asking for the above mentioned. The place itself has charm to it and is quite relaxing to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. The coffee quality and taste itself can be hit or miss for me. Id look into the supplier for the cups and lids as well. I’ve had more than a handful of incidents where the lid opened mid sip. I would also recommend handing off the coffee to the customer at the point of purchase rather than at the side where the seating is as not everyone is looking to sit down. I’ve noticed customers bumping into each other getting in and out or being inconvenienced because they have a bunch of stuff with them or kids and having to go in and out of the seating area to grab their order. Lastly I’d like to see more flavour options for the coffee itself. The standard coffee tastes a little burnt to me but some of you may enjoy a darker roast/flavour. The cappuccino art is very cute and I admire and appreciate the extra effort put in by the employees to make the experience fun and pleasant.
If the there is a zero review I would give to this place for there customer service ,I tried it for the first time and the worker ethics were really bad ,me and my friend with our kids 4 years old had went to have a coffee and we were sitting in the place and as every body have kids they will know that some time they can get hyperactive and loud which pretty normal in that age, the place was almost empty just one other table was occupied and the worker (specifically the two girls )they were looking at us in a very insulting way and whispered then one of the girls from the bar were yelling in front of the other sitting costumers that if our kids not getting quieter she may ask us to leave the place , I was shocked I lived in Canada for 10 years and never had that service attitude before, even in such an occasions that happened to me or other people who had kids it can be presented in very nice and gentle way but that was so rude to me ..place is a big No first and last time
I could have given 0 stars if i had the option, the customer service at Hale is at it’s worst. I have ordered a filter coffee and it was just a plain black coffee, so i asked if i can change my order, they asked me to pay for the second coffee with which i was totally okay!! But then i paid for cappuccino and the two ladies working at the kitchen completely forgot about my order and then i finally got my order and I didn’t like the way they served the coffee. Because my friend has ordered a cappuccino too and they did all the art and stuff and mine was just plain.. i asked them if there is anything wrong with mine or if they were upset with me and they said they can’t do the art because they are under training and they can’t master it every time. Well I wasn’t happy with that lame excuse because the way they served mine and my friend’s was completely different. And for the fact that i paid for my second coffee and got treated that way is not a good customer service.
Probably the BEST coffee shop in Mississauga without the Starbucks/Tim Hortons/second cup atmosphere. It’s clean, cozy, and overall a great spot! I come here with my wife on a weekly basis to work or just draw. The staff is awesome and super friendly. Sarah and Danny are always there to share a smile. Wifi is fast, there’s plenty of spots to sit down and enjoy a coffee and chat. If you need to work there are plugs in the back corner away from the hustle and bustle of the walkway. It gets busy, but the crowd moves fast and seats will become available. It’s located in the mall what do you expect. Coffee is great (I’m a black coffee drinker), I don’t order anything fancy. Priced fairly well. Will always recommend this spot for locals! ❤️

I had to stop by Hale Coffee located inside Square One's Food District as their aesthetics are very much on point - decor, cups, latte art - they have it all! I went for my go-to MATCHA LATTE which comes in 12 oz for $5.00, plus tax. Being an authentic hand-whisked matcha, this beverage comes unsweetened for you to really taste all the notes of the tea powder, though they do offer sweetening using white sugar if you'd like! If you're eco-friendly and want to conscious about waste, the baristas do ask if you want it for dine-in or takeout. They were extremely friendly and efficient in what they do. Follow me on Instagram @oh.snap.vonny for more food reviews and photos!
Wandered in at 9:30 on a Saturday. Be prepared for a long wait for your coffee even with just a few people in line. Despite having two baristas working two machines, to say they were challenged to make drinks in a timely manner would be kind. They were confused as to who was making what and stumbled over each other. The gentleman beside me after waiting a considerable amount of time for his drink to be made, had to have them make it again because they got the order wrong. On the bright side, the staff are friendly. Given how busy this mall is, they definately will need to figure out a better system to ensure they keep customers happy and coming back.
Every barista knows only one coffe art. Unlike others they have varieties. This is one of the reason why many people preffer to buy speciality coffe. I like there new products. Also I like there team brings out there supervisor to talk to customers concerns. Look how line up times have improved. Food is more fresher. Made in smaller batches to keep it fresh. Plus whenever I am there 90 percent of the time the team members have positive smiles. I like there energetic management how they put efforts try to make the store more appealing. Also adding new stuff and perks to keep there regular customers coming back. Go hale go !! Hale ya!!
I decided to give this place a chance, hopeful for a delightful coffee experience while also supporting a local business. Unfortunately, what I received was far from what I expected – in fact, it was the most bitter and unsatisfying coffee I've ever had. Despite my attempts to salvage it with sugar, the taste remained unpleasantly bitter and simply unpalatable. My craving for coffee was met with deep disappointment, and I can't help but express my dissatisfaction. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a particular liking for extremely bitter and unpleasant-tasting coffee.

Great new addition to Square One, located in the Food District. This mid-century aesthetic cafe have some seating space perfect to sit down to chat with friends or do some work. I ordered their Vanilla Latte with Oat milk— delicious, perfect amount of sweetness and bold espresso. Pair your food with a pastry (cookies, muffins). They also have a variety of products for sale such as coffee drips, filters, beans, teas (I’ve bought the cream of earl grey and milk oolong), and my personal favourite: Minor Figures Oat Milk 1L. If you like trying out milk alternatives this is a great brand for oat milk.
Awesome decor and vibe. Perfect to people watch as its right at the entrance of the newly built square one food court. Cant say enough about the barrista's customer service. However, my wife and I ordered an espresso which tasted VERY bitter. We were not too sure if the beans were burnt but we decided to tell the barista who immediately offered to redo it but we opted for a cappuccino instead. No questions asked. Once we got the cappuccino it was bitter once again. We finally came to a conclusion that the beans used in this coffee shop are subpar quality. So much so that we both didnt finish it.
Love this place, awesome coffee, happy friendly service, comfy atmosphere, they have complimentary water, cinnamon, coco, raw sugar and honey available for your choices on what you'd like to add to your beverage. They have outlets and seats where you can relax with your laptop and get some work done. Way better than Starbucks - highly recommended.

Good coffee, just never enough. Portions are on the smaller scale so expect to finish coffee fairly quickly. Prices are on the steep end but if looking for a place to enjoy a fancy coffee then Hale is a good option. Seating is not the most comfortable and the lighting is quite dim. Not a first choice coffee place to read or relax.

Square one shopping mall Hale coffee located in the food district I inquired about their coffee the barista said all the coffee have expresso. Additional charge for ice coffee, the menu is very limited! I bought a 3 pack of chocolate chip cookies tasted terrible!!!! Hard to eat, stiff, starbucks, second cup, store bought cookies even taste better. The barista told me that the sister co. located in Toronto baked the cookies. The price was decent 3 for $5 not so much for the baked goods. I highly don't recommend this coffee shop.
I love Hale coffee and have been buying it for years from a lovely local coffee shop. The 1 star rating is for the customer service I received at Square One shopping centre today. The website closure time for that location is 7pm, which is wrong. Me and my toddler got there at 6:06 and the ladies working there refused to sell 2 bags of coffee beans because the "register was already closed". The bags of coffee beans that were on display &ready. That's 25min drive there and back. I am considering switching to Back Road or Pilot.
I had the Americano, it was a lighter roast which isn't usually what I prefer however it was decent. Worth a try for sure, however one pain point is that they sell loads of different roasts but only have one available to drink (atleast when I went). One suggestion I would make is to have multiple options for roast types which you sell. Service was great, and ambiance was nice. There were people working and have meetings there too but volume was always minimal.

I wanted an iced coffee the barista was nice enough to help choose an iced latte with double shots of espresso. I don’t know where they source their beans from but it was the best iced coffee I’ve had and at a reasonable price (less than starbies but more than Timmy’s). It taste like caramel without any added syrup. Their seating area is very cute I was able to study looking forward to more iced lattes here. Cheers!

Good coffee but rude staff. Show up at 10:29am and they open at 10:30. So wait until 10:35 and finally are served with no acknowledgment or sorry for the wait. Two other customers walked away and went across the hall because at 10:29 they asked if they could sit and wait and she said no she was still setting up then turned her back to them. Customer service is not a thing here. Go for the coffee if you want but not the friendliness.

My wife and I were caffeinating for our paint night, and decided to do so here. I got myself a latte, while my wife got a chai. I enjoyed my Latte, but my wife ended up getting a chai teabag, served as a black tea, no milk (milk served on the sidebar, after purchase). The tea was okay, while the Latte was amazing. I recommend coming here for coffees, and the beans, but maybe not the tea, outside of London Fogs.

Well this was long pending and finally Hale coffee was open when we visited today! The latte was good. Chai tea latte is not impressive just fine. Nothing major about the service - you order at the start and for whatever question you may have the answer would be at the back , so basically if you want sugar/lid/holder it's placed towards the back and you have to grab it.

When I said to employees there that my filtered coffee was not hot (luke warm at the best), the answer was "Our coffee holder/thermos are rated to keep coffee fresh for 8 hours" or something along those lines. Even though the lady offered to replace it with fresh coffee from an upcoming batch, I couldn't wait for 10, 15 mins. Coffee was good otherwise, will advise future customers to ask how old it is before ordering..

Sweet barista, lovely coffee art, decent prices and great space to sit down and relax after shopping. The problem comes with the coffee itself. It tasted sour and acidic. I understand some espresso is more fruity and bright compared to others, but this one was just unpleasant to drink. Maybe it was a one-off but with so many great third-wave roasters, I guess I had higher expectations for Hale?

Got a filtered coffee to go. Milk alternatives (ex: almond and oat milk) and honey are available. It was very busy, and seats were full during peak lunch time, however, the line moved at a steady pace. There are promos on cold brew and Fairlife milk lattes currently. The Square One location is near mall entrance 6. Decent prices and great tasting coffee, would come back to try other items.

Visited the Food District for the first time today and saw this coffee shop. Area is clean with lots of seating. I’m not a big coffee drinker but the barista that served me (I believe her name was Althea) was very kind and knowledgeable on all the drinks. I ended up ordering a latte and it was great, I definitely recommend! I’ll definitely be coming back to try some more

On a gloomy Tuesday afternoon, Hale coffee was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits. Today was my first time trying the gourmet blend of Ethiopian, Brazilian & Guatemalan in a short Americano with a drizzle of cream. Being an avid coffee drinker, I can say Hale coffee is on my list of favourites! Their prices are reasonable and the service is excellent! I'm looking forward to trying another blend.
I was excited to try this place but unfortunately the employee working that day would not acknowledge me or the other person in line. I thought maybe they were finishing up an order, but after about 3 minutes of not even a "hello", myself and the other person waiting just left. It was 1pm on a Saturday so I assumed they were open, but I guess organizing cups was more important?
Been trying coffee places all over downtown Mississauga and downtown Toronto. Surprisingly this little place tucked away in the food court at Square One is the best so far. Good machine, good beans, and most importantly staff who know what they are doing and take care to do it right.

Service is good and staff are friendly. The coffee is extremely consistent, far more consistent than starbucks. About $5.40 for a latte and it’s one size though, so definitely not cheap either. Usually seating area is pretty crowded so it’s tough to find a place to sit sometimes, but it’s at a mall so that’s pretty inconsequential.
I bought a coffee beans & they grinned it for me, when I tried it I was satisfied. It’s delicious & can taste the notes & they have varieties of coffee beans. The barista so friendly & cooperative

This was my go to place pre covid. I have been there so many times with friends to have chit chat or to do some work. This place has the same quality and taste. They used to had more choices to go along with coffee before than just cookies. Good place to spend time with friends or for work though they have limited menu.
My fav place for flat white in Mississauga! ♥️ They should open more hale cafes in Mississauga so that we don’t have to travel all the way to square one. They have 2 flavours, vanilla and caramel syrups for your drinks. I normally prefer vanilla in my flat white :)

Amazing coffee and service. The way they make everything is so precise and they do it properly. As someone who enjoys espresso theirs tastes really good. Veronicaline served me and she was so sweet and helpful as well as knowledgeable about the products. I would recommend if you are in SQ1 food district.
The lattes here are okay, not sure how to put it but the espresso tasted off. Service was decent but they didn't know much about coffee. Took some beans home. Tried the dark roast Columbian it's a little acidic but does well brewed with a pour over. Looking forward to trying the medium roast Brazil.
Confusing options for tea latte. They show you a menu for teas and once you choose something they try to sell you Chai latte or london fog. After much back and forth I did take chai latte which was too light for my liking but wondering why they show tea latte as an option.

Cafe has a cozy limited seating area. I thought the flat white was too intense, almost like a cortado. I was looking for it to be smoother, bit more milky while still having that intense flavour. The baristas make nice latte art on drinks. I will probably try a latte next time.
Good coffee and reasonably priced only come in one size, which is a medium, but it was more than enough. You put your own milk and sugar at the back of the shop.

The price point for the quality of coffee doesn't add up (which seems to be a general theme across the food district in square one). On top of that the coffee was warm, not hot, perhaps due to the slow service or some issue with their machine. Doubt I'd come again.
I got a cappuccino and it was alright. Unfortunately the sizing doesn’t really get you what your paying for. $4.25 got me a small and I guess that’s their standard? First time I’ve ever been given my drink with the milk/foam art on top before though so that’s cool.
Came here cus it looked promising but I ordered a cup of coffee and was totally disappointed with it because it was too watered down. To pay $2.25 for a cup of watered down coffee is not for me. The staff was friendly though so I may still go back to try the food.
The barista with blonde hair is extremely rude. He ignored me and gave me a side eye while I tried speaking to him. I attempted speaking again and he was so hostile. Really bad attitude. Won't be ordering from here again.

Friendly staff, great location, smooth and creamy lattes. There is only one size for their lattes and seating available.
Cosy place with tasty coffee and tea. All stuff is super nice, polite and helpful, espesially Veronica and Shahd …
Ordered a Chai Latte with Oatmilk and it tasted great! Staff was friendly. Just wish they had a bigger sized option.
Quantity of our iced coffee was an issue. Nevertheless, Latte art was on point and the staff were welcoming.
One of my favourite places to get a good latte. Decently priced and friendly barista’s too!
