I've been to this store 4 times. During my most recent visit (December 2023) they REALLY dropped the ball. First, they forgot to put the disks in the DVD case, when I was checking out. Which meant I had to stop by there on my way from Corpus Christi to DFW, to get the disks. Then, when I opened the ornament box I also purchased, I find it was filled with bubble wrap and plastics, but no ornament. So, I paid $15 for a nearly empty box. Now, since it takes 4 hrs (and more than $15 in gas) to go BACK, I'm not making a special trip. But I am posting a warning to others - check your stuff before you leave the store.

Very rarely will you find music or books that are recent or in demand. Secondly, they literally give you pennies on the dollar for what you sell. Have personally witnessed buyer offer ten cents to someone that brought in recent paperbacks in great shape. Theoretically, that low cost could be used to sell the books at a nice price, but they aren't. Each book is priced at $8.99. That is pretty much stealing. And it's not like HPB is taking a risk, they paid nothing and at worst will move it in clearance for $3. Goodwill is better for books and Waterloo for music.

Once again, I received amazing help and customer service from Half Price Books, this time at the Southpark Meadows location. The Manager, Ryan, was exceptional. He located the book I was interested in, described it accurately, held it for me, and went above and beyond to make sure that it could be shipped to me in Canada. I received it pretty quickly and in excellent condition. Thanks Ryan and HPB, and I hope I have another opportunity to shop at your store in the near future, online or in-person.

Half Price Books is the best. Better than the best. Maybe even better than that! Person that took my call was kind and accommodating, locat d the book I asked for and set it aside. One I got there, the staff was helpful with both selling my old books and buying new ones. Let's face it, first time you read a book it will probably get a little shabby, so why pay so much more for a brand new copy. Their gift section is also full of great stuff for the holidays.

The staff was helpful. I brought in books to sell and they sent someone with a cart to help me get the rest of the book. I waited maybe 20 minutes before they had an offer for my books. Half Priced Books had a good selection of books. The books were easy to find on the shelf and not out of order. They had quite a bit of fun book related items for sale. I had a very hard time not spending a ton of money in the store. All staff was friendly and ready to help.

This Half Price Books is one of the cleanest, well-organized and friendliest I have been in. It’s a bit of a drive from New Braunfels, now that they closed the San Marcos location, but worth the drive for selling your books and magazines. Their bathrooms are also extremely clean, smell good and no lack of t.p., soap and hand sanitizer. It’s nice that they have sitting areas, especially if your waiting on selling to them.

This place is pretty huge! There's a library of books to choose from. It's very big and comfortable. They also have a decent collection of records, mostly ranging from 60s to 80, and I found a few that I REALLY wanted. I ended up buying a King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard album and two books on Tarot reading. They've also got a play to sell books. Everyone was very kind and personable.

I have never had a bad experience at a half price books. This was no exception. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have an excellent selection of books, old records, movies and even board games. If you're looking to kill some time, Half Price Books is the perfect place. I greatly enjoyed my visit there.

Love this store! They're fair with the prices the offer when you sell them your books, magazines, and other collectibles. They have a fantastic selection in store, and if you can't find it their, you can get it on their website. A great place to get great books for less. Stop in and find your next treasure!

Loved this location. Staff are eager to help with anything you need, and the pricing, along with selection, is great. I went home with a new hardback sketchbook and notebook for less than $15. Would definitely recommend, and they do buy used books if you've got some you don't read anymore.

Came here and found some manga for my girlfriend great service although a couple of the guys upfront seem really irritable. Wish they would take their masks off Covid has been over and it seems like they just want to hide their scowl. The ladies in the back were super nice and helpful

If you love books then you have to love these people. There's always something interesting because they have a little bit of everything. Take your time and see what you stumble upon. I got Xbox games, a Clive Barker book and George Carlin on vinyl, a great day by any measure.

Unbeknownst to me, there was a good 2 inches of loose change in the bottom of a cardboard box I used to transport books for sale. This incredibly honest staff set the box aside and called me to come get the change. Thank you for being so honest and of good character.

My 6 year old is a great new reader! We were looking for specific books. She found a series that she really likes. There was only one in stock in the computer but the guy said he remembered seeing more. We looked in the clearance section and found 10!

I found several nice books here both for myself and my grandchildren. At this half price bookstore the children's section is quite small. If you're going for kids books the one on Lamar has a much better selection. The guy at the counter

I love half price books! My family stops by every weekend and finds absolute treasure. At this location we found some Dr Who vhs that I got for my dad for Christmas . He loved it! HPB is terrific and every store is unique .

Not alot of non fictional books but it's always fun to visit you may find something interesting, books are well maintained not distorted, pets are allowed and you can get some cool puzzles cards and fun board games

Friendly welcoming staff. They have a great selection of comic books and Funko Pops at this location. They also offer to buy books if you want to share your collection and get a little money back.

This is a great place for second hand books. Well maintained all well sorted and kept. They have lot of collectibles, games, DVDs, puzzles priced half. Definitely worth visiting

Won't make it rich selling your old possessions, but you'll have less clutter in your place, and you sure as heck can't take anything with you when you pass away.
